Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it. Hmm

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

It just feels way too early??!! Like I only started testing because I thought why the hell not?! I wouldn’t of bothered until next week...

How long did your af last? @mfbroome ? Thats crazy that its positive. Talk about confusing! Get googling! 😂
Although maybe not google is to blame for so many of our anxietys already lol

@cocobana awww im so sorry💗, i really have been hoping for you. How are u feeling now? Is the jumper helping? Maybe a glass of wine will help too 🙂

@pastasaucehoarder im glad you are feeling a bit better now. It was a hard blow for you because all your signs were promising. Your poor dh. Will he know enough to know when your fertile? Just thinking if he didnt know you could not mention to him during the important time so that theres no pressure. When does your fertile week start pasta?

@scarletrose18 my AF was about 5 days but defo different this month it was heavy for the first 2 days then very sparse the last few.
I tested yesterday and the second line was there just very faint. What do u think is it positive?!
I’ve googles can you ovulate straight after your AF and the answer is quiet frankly yes lol.
I will DTD later and just keep using the sticks to see if they say + again or get darker. Hmmm Intresting 🤔

Thats my plan @Scarletrose18, I'm just going to have to keep all the TTC talk to myself (which sucks because he's so supportive and its great talking to him about it all)
I'm not going to tell him when I'm ovulating, I'm just going to try and DTD every other day as it it. Ovia says its 11 days until my fertile window - when is yours? Smile

Have you looked it up, @Mfbroome? Maybe its just crazy AF hormones still lingering around? Would it be worth DTD just in case?

@PastaSauceHoarder pleased you and your dh feeling alittle better now. Dh is okay because he never thought it would happen in the first month and knew we were very lucky last time when it did. He thinks because we’re a couple of years older now, more sleep deprived with more to worry about l that it will take a little longer this time and that’s fine. AF has made her appearance in full, painful cramps and i’m not feeling too good! I’m going to be kind to myself at the moment. Despite really not expecting to conceive this moment I’m so disappointed. I was at my relatives house today and they had got all these gifts for a new baby they know and I was so broody seeing the little outfits I could have cried!! Sad

Also I’ve just gone off this month and put my cycle in ovia as 31 days because I felt it was giving a more accurate date for my fertility window. Hopefully that will be more or less right. If I ovulate sooner I can add it in and expect shorter cycle.

Also @PastaSauceHoarder i think that’s a good idea not to tell dh when you’re ovulating. I do think it’s affects them doesn’t it. I’m going to try not make DTD baby related his month either because I thinjnit does pressurise it not to mention it’s a right passion killer.

I dont know at all @mfbroome it looked positive. You can ovulate twice though cant you? Or can you lol maybe you have ovulated and u will ovulate again in a week or two. When is your fertile cycle supposed to be?

@pastasaucehoarder Thats a good plan. I hope it works and dh is more chilled out.
Ovia says my fertile window starts on Wednesday but it says I should ovulate on Saturday... going to keep opking and see.
My dh doesnt have a clue anything about cycles, hes not really interested either... He is just a typical man, he thinks its great if we dtd more than twice a week lol. I do wish he was a bit more interested though so I could talk to him loads about all my ttc worrys (maybe thats why hes making sure i know hes not interested 😂)
That will be tough not having his support this time around @pasta I know its not the same but just type in here anytime u want to talk about or get something off your chest.

@cocobana Im really sorry that AF is properly here now. Im sure u feel so gutted. Irs not a nice feeling. Even though I wasnt expecting a bfp at all and had decided against trying before AF... when i seen the negative test still felt really dissapointed too.

** But guys... December is our month, we can do this!! And if we dont get our big fat positives this month, we will try again and they will come. It wont be long before were all on a chat complaining about who has the worst morning sickness and whos feet have swollen and who has heartburn 😂😂 I cant wait until then. I just googled positive opk after af, there was alot of threads so it must happen to quite a few ladies. Will u take another opk tonight to see what it says @mfbroome

Yday was a little faded and this morning really strong? Maybe u can ovulate twice? Maybe it’s hormones? I do not know 😂 I remember now this is why the sticks confused me last time I think 🙈
It says not to use with morning wee right? So I done it about 10am both mornings

@mfbroome I researched this before and thos is why they say not to use first morning wee

First morning urine is usually not the best for OPKs since your LH surge usually begins in early morning when you are still sleeping and may not be apparent in your first morning urine. If you test in the early morning, you may miss your surge entirely since LH levels may already be reduced by the next morning. Late morning or early afternoon is usually best unless the instructions suggest otherwise

So I test twice a day when I get near to the fertile period. Sometimes morning and evening and sometimes afternoon and evening. Just to cover all bases lol I really dont know whats happened with you, maybe 2 ovulations, mayve hormones lol. If you are able to, I would dtd just incase but keep testing as well because you may get another positive in a week or so.

Some more opk info I though we might all find helpful 🙂 Hope noone minds me clogging up our thread. And it says to test everyday from before we expect to be fertile so I think were doing the right thing testing everyday after AF.

OPKs work by measuring the presence of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) in your urine. A surge of LH which is sent to your ovary causes your ovary to produce enzymes which in turn causes the dominant follicle to rupture and release the egg into the Fallopian tube. This is ovulation and it is expected to occur within 24 hours of the surge of LH. An OPK is thus expected to be positive the day before you ovulate

If you do not test every day frombeforeyou expect to be most fertile, you may miss the surge.

Testing daily once you have started to test is the best strategy since your first positive OPK result probably means that you are about to ovulate and your last positive OPK, if you get more than one, may mean that you just ovulated.

Thanks @Scarletrose18 it is but I knew after conceiving in the first month with ds I couldn’t be that lucky again. Hopefully December will be our months as you say and if not try try again. Aww I can’t wait until then too, wouldn’t it be great if we were all pregnant at the same time esp since we’ve all been each other’s support during the trials and tribulations of ttc!
