Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it.

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

@Mfbroome aww your skiing sounds lovely, get you can’t wait. I just do the opks, this will be my second cycle of ttc with opks. I haven’t done temps or anything. Bet you all can’t wait to get the Christmas tree indoors!! 🎄 I know it’s so close now I feel like I need an extra week lol I’ll have to get a move on!
@Scarletrose18 it’s exciting that you’re getting fertility signs!! Any positive opks yet? I think you’ll get one any day now especially with the ewcm! I know what you mean it can be a tad uncomfortable. AF has almost finished for me now so at least that’s over!

@PastaSauceHoarder you’re just too organised I’m jealous! I haven’t wrapped one yet as I keep thinking i’ll just do it tomorrow, it’ll be Christmas Eve at this rate so I’ll have to get a move on! Got all my Christmas cards written out and and given some and posted the others so at least that’s one thing. Oh no poor noseless Pluto!! Ds has been okay with the actual tree but alittle mischievous with the ornaments, I found one missing unaccounted for bauble in his ball pit 🤣 cheeky monkey!
AF almost gone, I think completely gone today. Me too, I don’t want to see DTD as a chore either and feel a lot more relaxed this month too. It’ll be nice to just enjoy Christmas and what will be will be.

@cocobana I took 2 opk's today, both were super pale, barely a line and paler than last 2 days. Dh not long in from work, been out since 4:30am, I feel bad but feel like we should dtd tonight as we havnt the last 2 nights. Yaaay for AF being finished... that means your fertile time will bd here before you know it, I think getting AF out of the way always feels better Have you got good vibes for this month? Will be interesting to see when you Ov and how long your cycle is this month.

@mfbroome oh really, I may download it tok and try it as I find using this website a bit awkward at times. How are your opks coming along? Yes heres the pic of the tests. They have great reviews, are a bargin price and dont give false positives!

How are you today? @pastasaucehoarder how is your tree doing? If the weather where you are is as windy as here, your dh will need to bring it in soon 🌬🌪🙂

I tested yday but it was a bit later than I have been it was an ok line but defo not + so I will just keep on going with them I'm trying to do it 2 wee of the day then maybe a cheeky one in the eve haha. Thanks for tests I will buy after fertile period lol x although I think I might just wait and see 😂 yeah right! How quick has this cycle come around?!!!

@Scarletrose18 hope you managed to DTD, It’s difficult when you’re both tired. I find me and dh are both so much more tired since having ds and have far less opportunities to DTD esp with ds being there pretty much all of the time! I’m finished AF now completely so I’ll start doing OPKs prob from tomorrow/weekend because I highly doubt there’s any point today! Can’t see me surging early this month with being late last month but I suppose it’s impossible to tell! Are you all set for Christmas?

@Mfbroome what cycle day are you on? I hope you get your +opk soon. Has your dh let you take your tree indoors yet? Bet you’re wanting to decorate it. I should wrap presents up today but thinking I’ll do it on the weekend when dh is here to watch ds!

Yes still waiting @mfbroome oh thats great that u have got a decent line, im sure u will get a nice strong one in the next few days! Mine has been basically non existant yesterday, it was so pale. Thats what I do, 2 tests a day, I did 3 some days last cycle 🤭

Yes I think its a good idea to test right away after AF @coco especially after all of our unpredictable ovulations last cycle. I hope yours comes on time as predicted so that you can plan 🙂. Pill should be more out of your system now too so thats good.
I just need to get some things for going away (food etc) Been looking for nice warm lined wellies for ds but they seem to be expensive, im going to try Matalan this weekend as they seem to have better prices.
Yes we dtd, It was quite funny, I had told him a few days ago that I would be fertile soon so when I asked did he want to dtd he said you are just using me for my sperm...I said yes I am 😂😂

Oh really? I have actually started to feel a little worried today that it means I wont ovulate this cycle but if u havnt really got a line either maybe its just a dip before our +opk? Thats what I hope anyway. 😕

@Scarletrose18 You’re right, I bet opk from today, I’ll do one his afternoon. I love matalan. I’ve just ordered some pjs for dh and ds in the 25% off nightwear sale. I’m sure you’ll get fixed up with some cheap wellies, have you tried Asda too? As you said it’s not worth paying too much especially since they won’t get worn much. Haha it’s funny isn’t it, last cycle dh was like ‘I’m not used to you instigating things this much!’ I think he was thinking all of his birthdays had come at once 🤣 Hope your opk line appears soon, how long until your fertile window or are you in it now? Sorry you’ve prob told me multiple times already!

I looked in store but they didnt have any lined ones in asda @coco Oh 25 % off was good! Yes im on day 2 of fertile period and calender day 13. I am 28 day cycle so its calculated me as exactly the same days of the week as last month for ovulation (should be sat night/sun morning) which makes things easier for my foggy brain, if that makes sense? So I just looked at my opks from Thursday last month and they didnt start to darken until the Friday (tomorrow) so panic over lol.

Lol your DH sounds like mine, he never says no to dtd even when were both sick (always reminds me of that episode of friends where Monica is trying to get Chandler to sleep with her but shes really sick, do u remember it? 😂😂)

And what CD are u now? I know youve already told me too but I cant remember lol. Is it CD 5 for you?

I've on ovulation days but my cycle is messed up 😭 had two days of random bleeding yesterday and the day before as I took two contraceptive pills during my period (was confused if I really wanted to TTC or not).

@pinkflower22 oh no on the messed up cycle. My last cycle was pretty crazy when I came off the pill. Hoping this one is a lot better. Are you def wanting to ttc now? It’s best to be sure so you did the right thing!

Hello @pinkflower22 🙋‍♀️ welcome back! How are you? Since we last chatted, I ovulated but decided to wait until this cycle to ttc so I am just waiting on positive opk (hopefully this weekend)

So do u know what day of your cycle you are on now?

Oh yes, they are nice @coco the zebra one and croc one are super cute and available in my ds size so will have another proper look later. Thank you 🙂

To be honest I'm surprised two pills messed up my cycle it's such a shame!

Well it's really strange because the majority of the time I want to, and minority of the time I think ohhh am I doing the right thing. I spoke to my partner about it and he said we should go for it if I want to because he knows I'll be unhappy otherwise, if I wait for a whole year then try.

@Scarletrose18 oh yes keep your dh away from the Brazil nuts lol tell him not to eat your fertility kit! They’re practically medicine 🤣 I took my first opk this cycle and got a faint second line, i’m pleased i’ve started testing now as last cycle I had blank before got the faint line and they gradually got stronger. I think this time I could ovulate early or on time.

Oh the wellies are lush and reasonably priced I suppose, they all do seem expensive like you said.

@pinkflower22 I ovulated late last cycle and AF was late and I just felt generally crappy all month with my hormones going crazy lol it wasn’t good. I feel a lot better now though and this cycle has started fine. I know I guess juat reintroducing the hormone into your system has had an effect. My advice to you would be only ttc if you really feel ready. I felt similar to you afew months ago and o was so conflicted I just knew I had to wait. I knew when I was ready when all of the doubt went and I just had an overwhelming urge for another baby.
