Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it. Hmm

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

@PastaSauceHoarder 😂 at your dd nearly toppling our pram! Poor ds is the same and has almost gone flying out through the sheer weight of it all, it’s just as well I have him harnessed in. The basket fits so much in and I always feel proud of myself for getting a full load of shopping crammed underneath and the handle adourned with bags. You see me coming alright hurtling down the road with that thing lol 🤣

PastaSauceHoarder · 26/11/2018 20:36

15 days until AF, @Scarletrose18. 😣 I usually spot a couple of days beforehand, so that should be a good indicator on if its a negative or not.
I wish I could just forget about it for the next two weeks, I'm only 2DPO and I'm already fed up of waiting. 🙄

@Cocobana I wish my pram had a good basket! That was one of the things I overlooked when picking it. Definitely will pick one with a huuuge basket next time round!

What pushchairs/prams do you both have for your little ones? Smile

Cocobana · 26/11/2018 20:36

out*+

Cocobana · 26/11/2018 20:48

@PastaSauceHoarder 11 days until AF for me. I’m just expecting it now at this point tbh. I guess it’s too early for symptom spitting at the moment and I think it can be easy for it to be psychological. I’m just going to try and relax and concentrate on other things that will hopefully speed up the wait! I think it would be good just to know wouldn’t it one way or the other?!
I have a couple of pushchairs, a joie and a mothercare one. One is my little nippy compact one for hitting the shops and folds up tiny and the other is my walking around the local area or taking on walks etc with big air tyres, huge basket and big fleece lined cosy toes which ds loves and falls asleep in. I sold ds’s old big travel system on eBay as I hated it and he wasn’t comfortable in it. I would need to purchase a newborn suitable pram that parent faces for the next baby. Which do you have?

Cocobana · 26/11/2018 20:48

spotting* lol

Scarletrose18 · 26/11/2018 20:49

Aww, I know, each day drags by in the tww, I hope you have a busy week so that it takes your mind off of it a bit. Maybe AF will come a little earlier this month because you Ovulated earlier @pasta? 🙂

I have a Jane matrix travel sys... we got it because the lie down part is a carseat so your newborn baby can be in it for unlimited amount of time or even overnight if travelling. (Hard to explain but if u google a picture of it you will see what I mean lol) anyway its good but the shopping basket is so tiny! And I always look at other ladies doing their shopping with big pram baskets and I have basket envy 😂🤣😂

@coco we bought our first home this year so its been a busy stressful year and we havn't got away anywhere so I think this break is well overdue for us... Its a surprise for dh, I have been paying it off each month 🙂 Yes I wondered about the hot tub....maybe put ds to bed early each night lol. How did you find being away with your lo? Did he sleep ok?

OP posts:
Cocobana · 26/11/2018 20:59

@Scarletrose18 your pushchair sounds great. I’ll have to look into that one for my future dc. Oh that must have been stressful, are you more settled in your house now? We hadn’t had a holiday since before we bought our house almost 3 years ago so we were well ready. We’d been away on little trips but nothing I’d call even a mini holiday tbh. We were really worried ds would be freaked out about now being in his home but we couldn’t have been more wrong. He loved the cabin and was instantly exploring. I’d brought a load of his toys and he did even play with them once and just was fascinated with his new environment and had a blast!
Ds has never been the best sleeper. We didn’t bother hiring a travel cot and as to be honest he wouldn’t have fitted into one. We couldn’t have put him in the single bed incase he fell out so he just slept inbetween me and dh. Me and dh didn’t get to go in the hot tub together at the same time but we have in the past and I’m sure will again when ds alittle older and we go back! I noticed a big change going on holiday woth ds compared to before kids but it was lovely still, just a different kind of holiday.

Cocobana · 26/11/2018 21:00

Scarletrose18 · 26/11/2018 21:38

Yes were all settled now. Apart from the basket it is good lol @coco ...I think for the full travel system and accessories its £900 so I bought mine second hand from gumtree for about £150 and I took it apart and washed the material and disinfected the frame before baby came so saved me alot of money. 🙂

Glad to hear he was good on your trip. I cant sleep near ds, he wriggles and rolls over so much and makes noises in his sleep and it keeps me awake. I wish sometimes I could because then I could snuggle with him all night. Maybe my next dc will be a quiet sleeper and stay still lol

Yours sounds lovely and warm for your DS @Cocobana, did the footmuff come with it or did you have to buy it seperate? I was worried DD would've grown out of hers this winter (footmuff are so pricey!) but luckily shes still dinky enough to fit.

Oooh, just googled yours @Scarletrose18 and it looks so nice. I know what you mean about big basket envy though! 😣

Mine is an OBaby Zeal, this one in the picture. Once DD grew out've her first pram (secondhand from her older cousin) I wanted to get her one of her very own. When I found this one and saw it was covered in tiny purple flowers I knew I had to get it for her (DDs name is Violet so super appropriate Wink)

Oh wow, your DH will be so surprised @Scarletrose18! It sounds absolutely lovely. Smile Sounds like a well deserved for you anyway, buying a house is so stressful. How long is your trip?

Cocobana · 26/11/2018 21:53

@PastaSauceHoarder aww what a gorgeous name your dd has and I love that pushchair it’s so pretty I love the purple and the flowers on it, it’s lovely! The cosy toes came with it and it nice and oversized compared to others I’ve seen. Ds is really tall and doesn’t fit in the foot muff that comes with his compact pushchair but still fits his fleece lined one for now as it’s much longer and spacious than the others. When he outgrows it I’ll just have to move to a warm blanket but he’ll not be happy as he really goes like being all tucked up in his cosy toes.

Cocobana · 26/11/2018 21:54

Scarletrose18 · 26/11/2018 22:09

I just googled our exact model of pram and its cheaper now... u can get it for £720 plus extra for the accessories and then the isofix is extra again... bargin ha ha Its crazy how much some of them cost. I would go second hand again next time if I couldnt find one I liked at a good price.

Awww thats so sweet and girly, loving the flowers! @pasta. I love your dd's name and the pram is very fitting 😁
The stuff for little girls is so much prettier, do you have so much fun clothes shopping for your dd? I always see these cute little babygrows with a tutu built into them and frilly dresses and pretty cardigans then I go to the boys section and you can get some nice things but mostly everything is grey and boring. (Think I see a niche in the market and future career designing baby clothes 😂)

Have u much to get next time around?(apart from dif clothes etc if next baby is a boy)

What are we like talking about our next prams etc already... this is what being post ovulation does to us! Im blaming the hormones 🤯🤣

OP posts:
Cocobana · 26/11/2018 22:44

@Scarletrose18 that is expensive, I don’t plan on spending much for my next one because it’s only going to get one use. Some of ds’s things I could justify by saying they’d be used again for another baby (well that was my excuse!) I definitely thing it’s hormones too. I’ve felt very hormonal and almost like I’m having PMT symptoms this week and can only put it down to the rise in progesterone I should be getting right now lol and I sympathise for dh!
Oh I know what you mean about the clothes, the girls stuff is so pretty. I love buying presents for baby girls because it’s such a bright change from the boys things which as you say is usually all grey!

Cocobana · 26/11/2018 22:45

Cocobana · 26/11/2018 22:49

Sorry @Scarletrose18 just saw your message further up. Wow what a bargain you got, bet you were pleased at the time. Oh shame your ds is restless, it worked out handy for us. Our ds usually is out like a light when he’s in our bed and more restless when in his cot (typical). How long are you going away for? Bet you can’t wait, I loved just having a change of scenery.

PastaSauceHoarder · 27/11/2018 10:53

Thank you both, I do love her name deeply - only problem is if I ever end up having another little girl I don't think I could possibly find a name I love just as much!

I loooove clothes shopping for DD, maybe a little bit too much! 😂 I can't remember the last thing I bought for myself, yet she gets a new tee shirt or leggings almost every time we go out. Grin I like shopping in the little boy section too, we have three (soon-to-be four) nephews so I've bought them the odd bit of clothing now and again.

@Scarletrose18 I blame the hormones too!! We can't help it, I think women are natural planners. Wink
In regards to having everything we need for the next one, if we end up having a girl then yes. If its a boy then we might have to start from scratch (everything 'baby' we own is pink, I may have gotten carried away 😂)

Cocobana · 27/11/2018 10:53

Hi ladies, I was getting cramping and ewcm so took an opk and I got a positive today! Finally got my positive after all of this time! It’s CD19 and I’m super confused! Luckily DTD last night and told DH we are doing it tonight. This is really strange because AF due 7th Dec and my cycle is 28 days!

November has arrived...time for TTC )
PastaSauceHoarder · 27/11/2018 10:58

Oh hurray @Cocobana, finally!! 🎉 Bet you're so relieved, it must have just been taking its time to come!

Maybe your cycle will just be a little bit longer this month?

Cocobana · 27/11/2018 11:03

@PastaSauceHoarder I know it’s so strange it’s this late, I wonder if it could be with coming off the pill it’s maybe knocked first couple cycles out. Thank god I DTD last night, dh was tired bless him and I practically pounced on him and said we’d do it for last time for the month and now I’m pleased I did as I must have known.
I’d been getting cramps almost like pmt and other symptoms and thought I’ll take one more opk, I’m pleased I did. I’ve told dh we need to DTD again tonight. Do you know how many days you should dtd after getting the positive or just on the day you get it? Now the wait for AF and no idea if it’ll come on 7th as supposed to now lol.

Mfbroome · 27/11/2018 11:10

Yaaaay! That’s great get busy girl! I’m so glad u know where u r now! It’s funny how our bodies are just so unpredictable @cocobana

Talking of prams my most recent buggy (double) is a mountain buggy and I love it! It’s so slim it fits through a single door easily and has so many options from newborn-toddler and my 5 year old still rides in on long walks etc.
Love it, I will keep it u til it breaks down lol
Oh yes I done the old buggy tipthe other day in sainsburys with ds in the Maclaren - actually he stepped out and it all came crashing down 😂🙈

So I took a test this morning lol I just couldn’t help myself. - stupid I know at 7dpo! Hahaha oh well it’s helped me obviously it was a bfn 🙈 but I was totally expecting that as it wasn’t my first wee. I just felt like I had to do it.
I have some symptoms but I think it could be AF on way. Sore boobs, back ache and some pulling, so could be either or.. I’m not holding out too much hope lol.
It’s so foggy here feels just like winter ☃️

Cocobana · 27/11/2018 11:10

Or could be longer cycle this month as you say, how are you today @pasta? Sorry to go on, just had resigned myself to not getting one and got a positive or having missed it lol

Cocobana · 27/11/2018 11:16

@Mfbroome thanks so much, lol I’m so relieved it’s finally happened because I was beginning to think I hadn’t ovulated! Do you know if you’re suppose to DTD just on day you get the positive or day/s after as well? Your pushchair sounds fab, I have one nice and slim one that gets through doors and the other that takes the supermarket shelves and any signs or obstacles in the way with it lol. 🤣 that’s so funny oh no, lucky your dc has vacated it! He must have been balancing it and then when he got out uneven load!
Oh shame about your test but like you say they don’t usually show up to early and pmt symptoms so similar to early pregnancy symptoms it’s hard to tell. You def have a chance Smile 🍀x
