Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it.

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

We’re going Christmas shopping in December and having sort of a festive day out with ds, dh will take a week day off work so it’s abit quieter around the shops. Exactly you don’t need the additional pressure, my dh is the opposite he doesn’t talk about it because he just needs to see it happen before he can entertain it too much. Anyway shall let you get on with your shopping, hope you get fixed up. It’s boring by necessaeh jobs day around the house for us

@Mfbroome aww that’s sounds lovely, can’t wait for ds to be old enough to be munlottle elf! At the moment he likes to play with the rolls of gift wrap and laughs at the scissors sound when I score the paper into pieces. I’ve had birthday presents to wrap so I haven’t got around to wrapping my Christmas gifts yet and haven’t finished buying them either. You sound super organised! I think December will be more successful too! 🎄🎁☃️✨🎊
Oh I’m exactly the same and such a light weight these days where alcohol concerned because I don’t drink it so much. I felt light headed after a couple glasses of martini Asti lol

@Scarletrose18 you could get both, shortbread for Christmas and cookie dough bites to sample today. There shortbread it gorgeous and so is they’re cookie selection. I need to kill my sweettooth! When I was pregnant with ds I went right off chocolate and anything sweet, I wish I would again! I’m a firm believer in anything in moderation [santa]

@cocobana Trust me i am not that organised, I was just trying to think of activities inside where I didn’t have to leave the house hahaha - I had one passing me cellotape and the other writing the tags- like a small production line of gift wrapping 😂😂 it kept them busy for a good 20 mins before they lost interest and I was left with everything out 😂

@Scarletrose18 weekend was good but abit of a boring jobs day yesterday. How was yours?

@Mfbroome hope you got your wrapping finished. I need to get my paper down from the loft because I have a feeling I need to purchase some more gift wrap. That’s so lovely that your little ones were helping you even if it was only for a short while!
I know December next week I bet you’re as excited to put your Christmas decs up as me @pastasaucehoarder? One of my neighbours has already but I at least have to wait for 1st Dec!

What day will u be testing at end of the week @mfbroome ? We will be hoping for you when u test I didnt dtd once i found out I was going to Ov so we can hold off until next month but had done it a few nights before so will test just to make sure but im feeling pretty confident ill not be so then I can officially start ttc in December 🙂

It was fine thank you @cocobana, super busy though. Feel like I never get ahead with things to do especially around the house. Looking forward to finishing work for the holidays and having some time to get things done. Will u test early or wait for AF due date as @pasta is?

@Scarletrose18 That’s good that you’ll be off during the holidays. Do you have much left to buy?
I’m going to wait for AF the same as @pasta especially since I have no idea if or when i ovulated. I think it’ll save any confusion in the mean time. I’m just looking at it like af will arrive and then that way I won’t be too disappointed if it does. It just means I’ll be able to have a drink with my Christmas dinner and won’t have potential morning sickness over Christmas and New Year 🎊🍾 Hopefully that’ll soften the blow. I would of course swap all that in a heartbeat. I do think it’s more likely to take 6 months or more as that’s the ‘norm.’ I think I just got lucky with ds being conceived so quickly.

Oh I can’t wait! @cocobana! But I think I will do it weekend of the 8th lol If dh and me agree on that ha! I love xmas- especially now the kids are older, it’s so magical x

I think I’m going to just try Friday to get it off my mind 😂 that will be 10dpo - early I know and I don’t actually think it’s worked but oh well it’s all part of the process! Don’t have anything to loose lol. I totally agree @cocobana if it doesn’t work out this time atleast we can have a relaxed 🍸 December/xmas and get jolly to take our minds off of it!
Why is it when your just waiting u think everything u feel is a twinge or a symptom!? Driving me insane lol

@cocobana Yes that makes sense, if you have that kind of attitude you probably will feel less dissapointed if you get a bfn but if you get a bfp then it will be a lovely surprise.
Im afraid I wouldnt have the willpower like you two so when I ttc in December I will probably be taking one everyday 😂 We will see, maybe I will surprise myself and become patient. I wont be doing christmas @coco but I feel the same, I will be able to enjoy a glass of wine and going into the hot tub while we are away over christmas.

@mfbroome I would totaly be the same with testing, you know it will torture yourself but at the same time you cant help doing it.

As for testimg on Friday, I got a bfp with my ds 10 dpo so its not too early to test 🙂 It was faint but still a line. You will be on the schloer this christmas if u do get one 🙂

Im feeling quite confident that my af will come, we dtd far enough away that the chances are very slim. But that was my plan so I will be happy when AF comes as then it means my cycle has properly returned and I will be all ready to ttc 😊

Its funny how none of us seem confident its happened this month, isn't it? Like I really have no confidence, I'm fully expecting my AF to arrive as per usual (though I can't stop re-counting how many days until I should be due on, arghh!)
I've got a big work Christmas do on the 14th so at least I should know by then. If its a negative then I shall drink away my blues. 🍷🥂🍹

My Monday has been pretty non-stop, @Scarletrose18! I ordered DHs loads of bits and bobs to be picked up from various shops so I was out collecting all them today. I overestimate how much I can balance on DDs pram when out shopping! Poor little thing nearly toppled out. 😂
Then when all that was done I had to drop DD off home and run to work. 😴

@pastasaucehoarder Thats good that you have had a productive day and can tick some things off of your list (even though you nearly threw dd out of her pram...😂 just kidding) I think my frame has buckled a little over the amount of weight I hung on it shopping one day, every so often it takes a mind of its own and goes like trying to push a full shopping trolly lol

How long until your due AF now?

My Monday is ok, My dh has only just got home hes so tired, trying to spend some time with ds before he goes to bed. Thankfully this isnt our fertile week

@Scarletrose18 that sounds bliss, I’m so jealous of your hot tub on Christmas! Dh would love to go away at Christmas, we went away earlier in the year but found we had to take turns in the hot tub and the other watch ds, I didn’t mind one bit though! It is mega relaxing!

@Mfbroome your Christmas sounds amazing with your older dc. I can’t wait for ds to be more aware and believe in Santa and everything. He will be abit more aware this year though and it’ll be more exciting for him than last year was.

@pastasauceholder my decs going up this weekend too and I can’t wait to put them up. The house has had a deep clean in preparation for them and I’ll give it another quick going over just before. It’s good you’ll know before your work Christmas party, I think Christmas will def he’ll soften the blow of any of us get AF this month! 🎄🎊☃️👍🏼😃
