Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it.

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

@PastaSauceHoarder yay for your fertility window! That’s great news, we’re in this together now pasta, of it doesn’t happen for me I’ll be pleased if it at least happens for you (fc)! Oh no a 15 minute wait I’ll have to double check mine but couldn’t see anything about a wait lol and let’s put it this way I didn’t wait either, oh well! God they don’t make it easy do they with applicators and waiting times; talk about a mood killer! We missed the first day of my fertility window Tuesday so didn’t DTD but are doing every day since of the fertility window or at least aiming to which will put us at 5 times. Don’t think we’d have the energy for more than that or find the time with ds around and everything! Then the dreaded TWW.

Oh god pasta just when your cycle had been really regular and on time! This isn’t ideal but you still have a chance if your DTD day today and tomorrow. I can’t believe that what a shame. Remember it only takes once and if you get DTD today your are fertile now so you have a chance

Thanks @Cocobana. Just feel really deflated now. Like our chances have drastically decreased.
I know I'm being silly and we still have a chance but I feel like I could cry out've frustration - all those months of perfect planning seem pointless now!

DH has been great and said that we'll DTD as soon as we get home from work. DD will have to be babysat by Peppa Pig for twenty minutes (though I'm sure she won't mind!)

So the new plan is DTD tonight, tomorrow morning and tomorrow evening. I just don't feel hopeful now.

@PastaSauceHoarder think of it this way if you dtd the times you said that will be 3 times when you’re at your most fertile. With all the planning I’m only going to be at 5 times maximum so not much difference. x

I hope 3 times is enough. I've been googling like crazy and it says online that you should DTD for three days after a positive OPK... I don't know anymore, everything seems to say different things.

I'm wondering if I ovulated early because I stopped breastfeeding and my hormones are everywhere now? Thats the only thing different this month.

It’s so confusing, I’ve heard conflicting things too. Some places say you have 24 hours and others 3 days! I have no idea which is correct. I think all you can do now pasta is DTD today and tomorrow and (fc). I can’t believe your cycle has changed this month. I have no idea what mine will do now, it’s just shows you we don’t ever really know for certain.

Seems conincodental with the breastfeeding and wonder if that did play a part.

You’ve a right to be, I would be exactly the same as it’s confusing thinking your cycle is one way and getting your hopes up and then it doesn’t happen. At least still alittle hope and if it’s not to be this month there’s next month. I can see it happening for me either this month as I think it depends on so many factors not just when your fertility window is.

Im sorry your cycle changed chick, what a pain when u have put so much effort into being organised!! But if your dtd today and next few days you have a huge chance of bfp as they say you ovulate more than 12 hours after the surge! And the sperm will get there super fast! They know what to do I would agree breastfeeding. It changes your hormones so much! How are u feeling now? xx

Look at this... it says having sex within the next 24 hours so your all good...You still have a great chance of bfp! (Hope these messages dont disturb your dtd 🙂)

Any joy with your opks yet? Are they getting any darker? I've stopped using mine now until after AF, it was driving me nuts lol. Hopefully only have to wait for just over a week for it to come so I can get organised.

The cm was egg white - again! Bit not much this time then I had mild cramping again and now today nothing - any ideas?

@Scarletrose18 awww don’t worry ur first born will always be loved the same - Oh no it’s okay - ask ahead! I often thought omg how will have enough love for my ds! But ur heart just stretches further more than u would ever think! I also thinks it’s inportant to include your first in everything to do with the new baby that way they will never feel left out :) it’s the best gift isn’t it a sibling!

@Scarletrose18 so I have 12 days till I’m due - do I test next week though 😂😂😂

Thank you so much for the reassurance, ladies. I'm feeling better now. Thank god for this thread! I have no-one to ramble on at in real life about all this (apart from DH, bless him) so I really am thankful.

DTD earlier this evening and used the preseed for the first time. I hope I used it right, that applicator was strangely hard to understand! And I started munching on my brazil nuts today too, so I'm just doing all I can at this point really. Not hopeful but hey ho! Can only wait and see.

@mfbroome cramping is a good sign of ovulation! I usually cramp a lot during that time (only not this weird cycle )

Yes it is a gift to the first child your right. Well obvously you have loved being a mum to more that one to be trying for #3 We will be torturing u for advice when we all get our bfp.

Glad your feeling better @pastasaucehoarder irs such an emotional journey qnd its made even harder by the fact that you cant talk about it in everyday life. Rant away!! Thats what were all here for... to support eachother and be crazy ovulation chasers together

Speaking of brazil nuts... i was shocked to find that asda had none today! They had spicy nuts, chocolate nuts, nuts in shells but none were brazil nuts. (I was hoping to find chocolate ones )

Ooh chocolate ones would definitely be a treat, @Scarletrose18! I got mine from Wilkos last week, I did have a little look in Aldi during our food shop for future purchase but there was none there. Are we having a brazil nut shortage in the UK?! Maybe theres a huge amount of people TTC lately. 😂

I LOVE Toblerone but I've never had a fruit and nut one!

Are they brazil nuts?
