Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it.

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

@cocobana Twins on dh side (cousins) and my grandparents but I doubt it as not common and noone else had them. I will give u one if it happens 😂🤣

Are you opking once or twice a day? Stay hopeful, like you said, u dont know exactly when and im sure it will come soon x

Oh I would've thought you could adjust the height of them, @Cocobana! Seems like a design error there. 😂 Something to keep in mind for next time anyway!

My DD was supposed to sleep in a carry cot on a stand (the same I slept in when I was newborn, only with a nice new mattress and bedding!) only she decided very early on that she hated it. 😅 So it was co-sleeping from then on!

No twins here, @Scarletrose18! I don't know how I'd cope with newborn twins and a toddler!!

@mfbroome Dont worry, im quite new to this too. I just joined a few weeks ago but iv found it so helpful chatting to these ladies, its made the time go by far quicker. If you have a reply aimed at a certain person you do "@" and then the persons usernane.

@mfbroome I havnt had my first period yet so im not 100% sure... Acording to ovulation tests, I ovulated at the weekend but I didnt do the deed around this time as I would like to wait until next ovulation.

Well hopefully your period doesnt arrive in 2 weeks time then 😊

@PastaSauceHoarder no design error, it was on the highest setting. It is only suitable for a certain height bed so if you get one for your second child warning measure your bed first lol! Oh yeah Moses baskets and those cribs on stands don’t work do they, they should rename them wake up baskets because I’ve never come across a baby yet that’s liked it! As for the conceive plus i am planning to but whether I remember when the mood strikes is another matter 😂

@Mfbroome I think we're all just using cheapie OPKs and they seem to be doing the trick! I got mine from Amazon, I'm sure it was roughly £5 for 30 of them. Though hopefully this month is your lucky month and you won't need them!!
I'm on CD12 now, I've got 5 days left until I ovulate. Getting so nervous now, like I'll suddenly forget how to DTD properly or something. 😂

@Cocobana does your conceive plus come with applicators? I'll have to open up my preseed soon to inspect it. Sounds silly but I'm not sure how to use it!!

@Mfbroome you will, did you say this was your third that you’re trying for? We’re trying for our second and I’m excited and scared at the same time lol. How did you find it when your second dc came along? (if you don’t mind me asking)! You’ve been there and done it so you’re the perfect person to ask!

@PastaSauceHoarder I have no idea, literally it came in the post and I put it straight the in draw next to bed. I’ll have a look at it, I think it comes with an applicator as far as can remember but haven’t opened it yet. I do remember it saying you can put it on yourself or your man lol thought that was quite funny and picturing dh’s face like what the hell is this stuff! I’ll have a look and get back to you. I haven’t used it yet, don’t know when in the fertile window to use it lol, when are you using yours?

@Scarletrose18 how are you today? I can’t believe it’s 4 weeks 6 day until Christmas, do you have much left to get? 🎄🎁🎊

@PastaSauceHoarder just checked and no applicator just a tube, says you can use with or without but they suggest using their pre filled applicator which to me is abit of a money making scheme when it doesn’t come with one. I reckon I’ll not bother with the applicator as abit pointless

I’m not going to lie I thought how the hell am I supposed to juggle two kids?! How am I supposed to drop my daughter to nursery when I have to feed the baby?! After two weeks of taking my time I soon fell into a Routine 😌 Now I just do everything so quick and they entertain each other so it’s pretty perfect! They are so so close and have so much time for each other I can’t remember life with one - well I can actually haha it was a little quieter! now I just can’t wait to add another team member 😂😆 🙈🙈 I think it is a completely different dynamic adding the second but so rewarding - your going to love it! Preganancy flies by with #2

I’m totally going to get some - I’m so confused, I so thought I knew my body from tracking for so months. And today I got more cm that I would identify as ovulating?! Oh I don’t know now was it Tuesday or was it today 🤪 will see how this cycle goes and then maybe take things a little more seriously next!

Haha @Cocabana, yeah I don't think my DH would be too pleased either if things were heating up and I suddenly squirted the preseed on him. 😂
I had I look at mine and it seems to come with nine applicators. Maybe thats why it was so expensive!

And yay to only four weeks until Christmas! 🎄🎉 I managed to wrap all of DDs presents last night, can't wait until she opens them.
DH keeps asking me what I want but I can't think. All I want for Christmas is a BFP please!!

@Mfbroome oh how strange! What was the CM like? Could it be a good sign maybe?

We are going away this year as a family (just the 3 of us) over christmas @cocobana ... nowhere exotic just somewhere local, near mountains and a forest, its very rural. We have always wanted to do it so im super excited for that. Hoping it snows too as the place we are staying has a private hottub so I have images of glass of wine in the hot tub in the snow! But I bet it will end up being dry the whole time and then snowing the day we get back lol.
So random that the preseed doesnt come with an applicator but tells you to use one. Could you use a tampon applicator maybe? Or just pop it on hubby (dont tell him what its for though or it might kill the mood 😂)

Oh im so interested to hear that @Mfbroome Im really scared of number 2 also but at the same time I cant wait. I dont think im worried about the newborn because but I worry how my ds will react, and will he feel neglected and unloved. I also worry will 2 be too hard for me to handle. I cant imagine going to do the shopping with 2 😱🤯 lol How did u feel before trying for number 2? I hope u dont mind me asking either. I feel like these are things I cant ask people in real life lol.

Are any of you 3 ladies able to go through even an hour or two in your day without thinking of ttc and next baby? Its like life stops and we turn into crazy people.

@Mfbroome thank you, it’s positive to hear that pregnancy flies by with the second. My first and only pregnancy so far with ds seemed to last for so long it literally felt like I was pregnant forever lol. It’s also promising to hear that your dc entertain each other. I’d heard that it’s really hard at first when they’re both small and you just have to survive but then they amuse each other and it becomes easier. It’s good to hear the latter rings true. Aww it’s lovely you’re going for dc3, I think 3 is a lovely number.

@PastaSauceHoarder 9 applicators lol, gosh that’s a lot! Do you think you’ll use the preseed throughout your whole fertile window? I guess you don’t have to use the applicators if you don’t want too. I’m starting to think they may be a passion killer too (half way through saying to dh sorry stop there a minute and whipping the applicator out 😂) and there’s no easy way. With out giving you TMI which you won’t want I’ve used the conceive plus applicator-less and it worked just fine. Against my better judgement it didn’t kill the mood but I’m thinking with or without he applicators either way is not ideal but worth it a million times over if it works lol. Let’s hope it does! I got a slightly darker line on ov test today certainly not positive yet but I would say it’s on track for Saturday (fc). How about you? Are you almost in your fertile window now? It’s getting exciting!

@Scarletrose18 wow that sounds lovely and idyllic. Me, dh and ds did something very similar earlier this year, we stayed in a cabin in the forest with a hot tub and it was amazing, ds loved seeing all of the little animals, there was deer and squirrels and amazing woodland walks. We absolutely loved it. Is it through Forrest holidays? It sounds very like what we did. It will be absolutely amazing in December too!! I so want to go back at Christmas one year, it’ll be fab. 🐿🌲🌲🌲☃️❄️🎄🎁

Ah thats good to know about the lube! Mine said it needs to be applied up to 15 minutes before DTD, not sure why though, I'll get it out and have another read of the instructions.
Yeah I think I'll use it through the fertile week - hope I don't run out though! I think we're planning on DTD about six/seven times this week, if we can handle it!! First session is tomorrow. 😂

Yes I can't stop thinking about TTC. I feel guitly because I should be focusing all my attention on my beautiful exsisting child, but I can't help it - I ache for a second child.

Oh no oh no oh no!! I just took an OPK and its positive TODAY! 😣😣 I'm only CD14, I've been getting positive tests on CD17&18 for the past four months... We haven't DTD since Monday!
