Age 35
DD age 2
TTC number 2

This is our first month trying I'm on CD15 and no smiley on OPK yet. I'm still sort of bf'ing toddler usually twice a day sometimes once so hopefully that's not preventing ovulation.

Had 2 chemicals before conceiving DD1 so expecting the same again this time round.

I'm 35
TTC #2
my cycle is bizarre so no idea when it'll happen!

everycloudetc · 08/10/2018 12:21

Hi Rainbow welcome! How old is your DD?

TwittleBee · 08/10/2018 13:00

everycloudetc hey there! Hope you see that smiley soon (shouldnt think BFing a toddler should affect it as you arent BFing often). Really hope you have an easier TTC journey!

RainbowsArePretty good luck and hopefully your cycles wont be too crazy during this time round of TTC

I'll be joining too if that is okay?
I am 24
TTC#2
DS is 15 months (conceived 1st cycle)
Been TTC for 12 months now (couple months break in middle)
I am on CD4, usually have a 27day cycle so BFP on Halloween hopefully!

everycloudetc · 08/10/2018 14:53

Hi Twittle welcome! Halloween BFP would be awesome.

Randomly I decided to do another OPK this afternoon as I've heard you can get the LH surge in the afternoon even if you had a negative in the morning. I got a static smiley so will be DTD today and tomorrow. Finding it so hard to find the time to fit in DTD with a toddler around - especially one who doesn't like to sleep!

Hopefully this will be a lucky month for all of us.

Hi,

Can I join too please, I was here a lot trying with my first.

I'm 31
TTC #2
DS is 3 in Dec

We are not properly trying until Jan due to a hopeful house move but I'm hopefully or earlier rather than later.

RainbowsArePretty · 08/10/2018 16:34

My DD is 2 sorry forgot to put age.

Any tips for cheap but effective fertility test sticks? Because my cycle was bizarre last time I only used them for a short time as it was expensive. Instead I just relied on doing a pregnancy test regularly. This time I would like a better idea of my fertility window.

Does anyone else find it hard to find the time to conceive!!? Or is that just us?

RainbowsArePretty · 08/10/2018 16:34

Sorry Every just realised your the same regarding time Smile

This is our second cycle trying, only using an app to track ovulation. I’m wondering should I get opk. No idea what one to get.

Last cycle was 4 days longer than usual so I’m totally confused now!

everycloudetc · 08/10/2018 18:13

Welcome sky and Lorelai!

I use these cheapies from ebay then when they show a positive I use a clear blue ovulation test to doubly confirm (I might be a bit obsessive 🤪)

20 Ovulation Test Strips Fertility 20mIU One Step® + 10 Urine Collection Bags rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F142943609832

I also find this seller really good for early detection pregnancy test strips they are just enough to satisfy my urge to continually test early and keep testing to make sure the strips are getting darker

rainbow I totally feel that way too! Having a toddler is sooo hectic and you're pulled in so many different directions with work etc sometimes DTD comes bottom of the list

OP posts:
everycloudetc · 08/10/2018 18:42

Oh and it's definitely worth getting OPKs. When I conceived DD1 I ovulated 3 days after AF finished. I thought it would have happened on day 14!

OP posts:
LorelaiRoryEmily · 08/10/2018 19:19

@everycloudetc 3 days after af?! I’ve just been trusting flo but thanks for that, I’ll invest tonight... do you just do one every day? I’m so clueless

TwittleBee · 09/10/2018 05:34

Blimey that is so soon after AF! Might get in a bit of DTD tomorrow just in case it is ever same for me haha

Hi can I join too?
Came off implant a few weeks ago and ttc no 2.

My son will be 4 in November so hoping to give him a sibling 🙂

RainbowsArePretty · 09/10/2018 07:43

Thanks Every! That's a great tip. Really interesting that you experienced that

TwittleBee · 09/10/2018 07:52

Thistle86 hey there and food luck!

Can't stop thinking how if we get lucky this cycle then we will have exactly a 2 year age gap (If this baby to be is born on ex0ected due date from this cycle!)

everycloudetc · 09/10/2018 08:28

Lorelai what day you do the test depends on how long your cycle is. So for example if you have a regular 28 day cycle then they recommend you start testing on day 9 I think. I have a chart somewhere I will post a bit later when i get in.

Is anyone taking any supplements or using anything to "help" the process along?

OP posts:
TwittleBee · 09/10/2018 08:54

LorelaiRoryEmily I have attached a chart that I used. FYI I have a cycle length of 27 days, I see a positive OPK on CD14 and then ovulate on CD15 (I also confirmed this with BBT charting, along with my usual ovulation signs). I stopped using OPKs for a while but gonna use them again this cycle as occasionally I do have longer or shorter cycles.

everycloudetc I am using Seven Seas trying for a baby pills this month and have some Conceive Plus lube to use too.

Thistle86 · 09/10/2018 08:54

I’m taking a supplement from boots called magnesium-ok. Really good for establishing healthy cycles and has some good vits for healthy egg production. Contains folic acid too. I am using Ovia app to track - are you all tracking too x

TwittleBee · 09/10/2018 08:56

Thistle86 ooo haven't heard of the magnesium-ok, might try that next cycle if no luck with this one. Yeah using Flo to track. Previously was BBT charting using FF. Feel like I know my cycle well enough after tracking about 15 of them now though tbh

RoseReally · 09/10/2018 09:50

Hello, can I join?

Age 33
DD2
TTC 2

On cycle 2 if trying. Got pregnant first go with DD. Bit more anxious this time about something going wrong. Thought it would be good to chat here as I think I'm driving DH a bit crazy! I'm using the Ovia app and haven't been using the ovulation sticks but if I don't get my BFP this month I think I will give them a go. I got a strong BFP early on with DD so has made me wonder if I ovulate earlier than CD14.

Good luck everyone!

everycloudetc · 09/10/2018 13:06

welcome rose fingers crossed for a bfp this month!

Thanks for the vitamin recommendations. I used the pregnacare his and hers supplements before so considering getting those again if this month isn't successful. My diet is awful so no doubt there are lots of vitamin deficiencies at the mo.

I use Ovia too I even use the Ovia parenting one for my DD1 too. I've been using it since she was born it's so helpful especially with ideas of activities to try with a toddler and behaviour management strategies etc

OP posts:
RoseReally · 09/10/2018 13:34

Oh thanks, I didn't realise there was a parenting version! My DD has been rather 'spirited' lately so sounds like it could be useful.

I'm only taking folic acid and was considering a multivitamin. But I think I'm going to make more of an effort to get my 5 a day over the next few months instead. Not just because of TTC but also because last winter I had cold after cold and would really like to avoid that this year!

Anyone else just entering the TWW?

everycloudetc · 09/10/2018 13:49

Ha! yes DD is very much "spirited" too. Haven't even begun to contemplate how i'll handle a threenager and newborn at the same time!

TWW for me starts tomorrow so let the symptom spotting commence! Grin
