Age 35
DD age 2
TTC number 2

This is our first month trying I'm on CD15 and no smiley on OPK yet. I'm still sort of bf'ing toddler usually twice a day sometimes once so hopefully that's not preventing ovulation.

Had 2 chemicals before conceiving DD1 so expecting the same again this time round.

Hi all, please may I join you?
I'm 33, DS is 2y4m.
After a year of TTC #2 we were overjoyed to get pregnant in July, but I miscarried at 13 weeks. Hoping for better luck this time round.
Does anyone know much about BBT charting? TwittleBee maybe? I've not tried it previously but wondering if it's worth giving it a go? I'm a bit confused about exactly when to take my temperature - does it have to be literally the second I wake up? I'm usually rudely awakened by a toddler so I don't think I'll have chance until I've dealt with him for a minute or two.

TwittleBee · 14/10/2018 06:39

TillyTheTiger hey there. So sorry you had a MC Flowers

With BBT charting it does need to be the moment you woke up and at the same time everyday. If that isn't possible I wouldn't bother trying as you won't get accurate results and your chart will be so erratic. You could do OPKs for now?

Tbh I found BBT charting stressful. I had nice easy to read charts and was good to get to know my cycle but it made me so over analytical everyday

Hopingfornumber2 · 14/10/2018 08:08

Hi all
Can I join pls?
I'm 36 this week (eek)! DD is 3.
We've been TTC since May and got BFP first month but sadly the pregnancy ended at 5 weeks and again at just over 5 weeks in August. Dr said that it's likely just "bad luck" and to keep trying.

I had positive OPK on 6/10 so am probably 7DPO. I hate the 2ww!!!
Sending you all baby dust.

LorelaiRoryEmily · 14/10/2018 08:55

No worries at all @cocobana!!

LorelaiRoryEmily · 14/10/2018 12:05

@hopingfornumber2 sorry to hear that. I hate the tww too, it nearly drove me crazy last month🙈 fingers crossed for you. I’ve only just started using opk so waiting on a positive

Hopingfornumber2 · 14/10/2018 12:54

Thank you Lorelai and good luck with the opk. This is only my second time using them. I've got the one step tests from amazon too. I had my positive at 5pm. The late morning one was negative and then by the next morning it was negative again so I would have missed it if I hadn't have checked in the afternoon.

LorelaiRoryEmily · 14/10/2018 13:37

I did one this morning at 8.30 and it was negative, going to see the in laws later so I’ll do it before I go, such a small window of opportunity isn’t it

WorryPot9 · 15/10/2018 22:44

@TillyTheTiger I’m giving BBT a go, if only to understand my cycles better. I bought a femometer from amazon, it syncs automatically to your phone. I’ve found I can briefly wake, take temp and go back to sleep (and have to check app later to see if I remembered to take my temp at all!)

TillyTheTiger · 15/10/2018 22:55

Thanks TwittleBee and WorryPot9, I'll start setting an alarm and give it a try!

RoseReally · 16/10/2018 19:46

Flowers Tilly and hopingfornumber2, sorry about your miscarriages.

I think I'm 7dpo, and am knackered today. My main (early) symptom with DD was tiredness... so I guess I am symptom spotting even though I was really trying not to! Going to try to hold out till at least Sunday before I test. Anyone else testing soon?

Fingers crossed for you all Smile

EvieV28 · 16/10/2018 20:17

Hi, can I join? I'm 28 with a 7 year old, TTC our second! We tried before for about 5 months then decided to stop so this is our first month of trying again!

LauraPalmersBodybag · 17/10/2018 23:34

Likewise @Tilly and @Hoping ... that really is tough. I hope you’re in store for an uncomplicated pregnancy very soon. I’ve been a bit rubbish with OPKs, who can remember to actually do them in the middle of the day? Also done some more reading on them and they seem a little unreliable. Will probably try to use them, but I have a fairly good idea of my cycles, so we’re just having some good old fashioned regular sex (no mean feat when you have busy lives and a kid!).

We’re tryibg this week, so guess the 2ww starts now...

Good luck everyone

LorelaiRoryEmily · 18/10/2018 05:51

So we totally missed our window for this month😢 I’ve had a horrendous stomach bug since Monday, according to Flo ovulation was Tuesday, haven’t done an opk since Sunday. Might do one today just to see but I think the ship has probably sailed.

RoseReally · 18/10/2018 06:28

Sorry to hear that Lorelai. Stomach bugs are the worst, especially when you have a small child to look after! We missed the window a couple of months ago because DH was ill with a bug, it's so frustrating isn't it!
I think I'm 9dpo today and currently in bed trying to decide whether the use fmu to test. It's so tempting but don't think I will, feel like I can already feel AF coming!

everycloudetc · 18/10/2018 07:24

welcome hoping sorry to hear about your mc and hope this is a lucky month for you.

lorelai it might not be too late. I ovulated on day 17 this month (normally it's somewhere between 12-14 so don't know what was going on)

rose i'm 9dpo today as well. I did an internet cheapie this morning and BFN. I've definitely felt some "activity" in the uterus area over the last two days though so i'm still hopefully. I think most people get a faint positive at 10dpo

LorelaiRoryEmily · 18/10/2018 08:19

Fingers crossed for you both @RoseReally*&*@everycloudetc I haven’t completely given up for this month, Just feels unlikely now.. still it’s always worth a try isn’t it....

RoseReally · 18/10/2018 08:42

Thanks everycloudetc and lorelai.

I did a FRER this morning in the end.. BFP. I'm pretty disappointed to be honest, as I got a positive early on with DD, I'm not very hopeful. But not over yet. I'm a bit of an overthinker so trying not to think too much about why it happened for us so quickly the first time but not this time..

RoseReally · 18/10/2018 08:45

Oops that should say BFN!

everycloudetc · 18/10/2018 09:23

rose I think I read somewhere that it takes 2-3 days after implantation for your HCG levels to be high enough to detect anyway so don't give up hope just get. It's not over till AF arrives!

Hi ladies, hope I’m ok to join I just really need a bit of support I’m finding it tough.

I’m 33
DS is almost 5 and we’ve been TTC 15 months now.

After a year TTC my son as well there’s not much I don’t know about trying to make a baby, I’ve pretty much tried everything lol xx

LorelaiRoryEmily · 18/10/2018 20:29

ok so I keep forgetting opk today🙄 but, I thought I had ewcm last weekend, nothing to what I have now. Sorry if that’s tmi! I’m thinking I might try to do one before bedtime and maybe we haven’t missed it after all.

Hi mrstaylor, oh I know how you feel, it’s very hard... baby making isn’t easy

LauraPalmersBodybag · 19/10/2018 19:13

Hi @Mrstaylor sending you luck. Did you have any problems arise when you were ttc your son? Hopefully it’s just a matter of time and you’ll have a postive result soon Flowers

everycloudetc · 19/10/2018 21:26

welcome mrstaylor this whole TTC business is so tricky and so much of it depends on luck it does your head in. Where are you in your cycle at the moment?

OP posts:
Mrstaylor18 · 20/10/2018 08:29

Thanks ladies! No problems trying for my son other than I had really erratic cycles so was hard to pinpoint when I was ovulating, and I also had a mc during that year so in total I think it was 9 cycles to conceive him. This time around my cycles are like clockwork, I haven’t been on hormonal contraception in almost 7 years but nothing is happening 🙄. It is with a different partner but he has a child already as well.
Just soul destroying especially on the school run where everyone is pregnant or pushing a baby, the other day I walked past 5 newborn babies in 30 seconds.... 5!!! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Xx

Mrstaylor18 · 20/10/2018 08:30

Also my husband is in the army so is away a lot, I’m 2dpo today but he only got home yesterday from a week away so totally missed this month 😑 xx
