Age 35
DD age 2
TTC number 2

This is our first month trying I'm on CD15 and no smiley on OPK yet. I'm still sort of bf'ing toddler usually twice a day sometimes once so hopefully that's not preventing ovulation.

Had 2 chemicals before conceiving DD1 so expecting the same again this time round.

I think I'm about 3dpo and desperately trying not to symptom spot! Last month I convinced myself I was pregnant for a few days Blush

everycloudetc · 12/10/2018 16:32

Lol i do the same Smileit's so annoying that early pregnancy symptoms are the same as AF symptoms isn't it! I'm 3 dpo too. I had a look back at my ovia chart for 2015 in the month I conceived DD to see what symptoms I had logged. Turns out the only thing was headaches and cold/flu symptoms. No nausea etc until well after bfp. Not much planned for this weekend unfortunately as DH is away so a looong weekend of symptom spotting awaits!

I was really convinced that I had pregnancy symptoms from about 6dpo when I was pregnant. I was exhausted, sensitive to smells and my nipples changed colour. But, now that I've had a cycle where i ttc and didn't, I'm wondering if I imagined all of those things!

WorryPot9 · 12/10/2018 17:38

Can I join? Will TTC after next cycle. I say that because my cycles are ridiculous, currently on day 47, no period, no BFP!

DS is 2, 3 in April. I’ve bought myself a femometer in an attempt to get some understanding of my cycles!

LorelaiRoryEmily · 12/10/2018 20:51

@twittlebee & @everycloud thanks a million, that’s really helpful. I’m on day 12 now is it too late to start using opk this cycle? Have ewcm today and according to Flo ovulation is in 4 days...

TwittleBee · 12/10/2018 20:59

LorelaiRoryEmily certainly not too late, give it a go tonight!

WorryPot9 hey there! Oh my that is a long cycle!

everycloudetc · 12/10/2018 21:28

welcome worrypot wow that's a long cycle, that must drive you mental and have oodles of patience! lorelai it's not too late at all. I started testing on cd14 this month because we just decided to start TTC on a whim and hadn't really planned it out properly

I’ll have to go and get one tomorrow. Talking to a friend today and she has just had her 2nd dd and she kept going on about how she got pregnant first attempt with both dds. It’s not fair!

ckc45d10 · 12/10/2018 22:19

@everycloudetc research suggests CoQ10 may also support fertility

everycloudetc · 13/10/2018 06:12

Thanks ck i've heard lots of good things about it so may give it a try if this cycle is unsuccessful

Insomnia has set in here. I remember this vividly when pg with DD so hoping it's a good sign

Still no AF. I’d rather it just arrive so I can get on with it, feel like I’m in limbo. DS wasn’t planned so haven’t done all this before! Anyone taking any supplements? It’s a difficult balance between ‘just try for a baby’ and the opposite end of the scale, serious cycle planning etc Confused

Cocobana · 13/10/2018 16:05

TTC #2nd baby soon
Coming off the pill tomorrow ahhhh scary. Currently have a very mischievous toddler

LorelaiRoryEmily · 13/10/2018 19:31

First opk this evening, it was negative, is it just once a day you test and does it matter if it’s morning or nighttime?

Cocobana · 13/10/2018 20:13

Lorelai you’re best testing first thing in the morning, this is when you’re urine is the strongest and the hormone shows up better. Good luck Flowers

LorelaiRoryEmily · 13/10/2018 20:32

@cocobana thank you, I’ll try that!

TwittleBee · 13/10/2018 20:35

LorelaiRoryEmily with OPKs it's best to test every 12 hours as the surge can come and go quick. For me, I only get a positive in the evening. Always try to test at same times though, so 8am and then 8pm and same again next day So you can assume the lines getting darker are reliably showing an increase in LH.

TwittleBee · 13/10/2018 20:38

Oh LorelaiRoryEmily and also don't use first morning wee as OPKs are different to HPTs!

Here is a useful article www.babycentre.co.uk/a561822/how-to-use-ovulation-test-kits

Explains how mid afternoon is meant to be optimum time as that's when most women see a surge

LauraPalmersBodybag · 13/10/2018 20:44

Ooh, I’d like to jump in here too please.

I’m 32, DD is 2 (though nearly 3!) and I should be ovulating in a week or so. We started trying towards the start of this year but a million things caused us to pause.

I’m obsessing that the age gap is getting too big and I’m really anxious to get pregnant quickly. I was lucky last time, it only took us 4 months and we were a bit casual with when we were trying.

This time around I’ve got OPKs and would like to be speedy. Is there a best time of day to use them?

LauraPalmersBodybag · 13/10/2018 20:46

Have just read the above messages immediately above my post - that’s what I was getting at, thanks! 🤦🏻‍♀️

LauraPalmersBodybag · 13/10/2018 20:49

@worrypot9 I’m taking a multi vitamin and folic acid. I’m told it’s useful for your body to have a reserve prior to conception if possible.

TwittleBee · 13/10/2018 21:06

LauraPalmersBodybag hey there! Haha yeah glad you read the above messages. Hope things happen speedy for you again! I should be ovulating in next week so we are pretty close. Hope we get a BFP together soon.

LorelaiRoryEmily · 13/10/2018 21:22

@twittlebee, thank you, much appreciated, I’ll do it again tomorrow...

Cocobana · 13/10/2018 21:40

So sorry LorelaiRoryEmily I thought you were meaning the pregnancy test not the ovulation kit; silly me! 🙊

Cocobana · 13/10/2018 21:41

I’m going to just let nature take its course abs not bother with tracking ovulation or anything but never say never if things don’t happen after the usual window!

Cocobana · 13/10/2018 21:42
