Age 35
DD age 2
TTC number 2

This is our first month trying I'm on CD15 and no smiley on OPK yet. I'm still sort of bf'ing toddler usually twice a day sometimes once so hopefully that's not preventing ovulation.

Had 2 chemicals before conceiving DD1 so expecting the same again this time round.

everycloudetc · 20/10/2018 09:13

So..., i've got a BFP! being very cautious as it's still only 11dpo

Congratulations everycloud! That's great news. I stupidly POAS last night and it was BFN. I'm 11dpo today too but decided to wait till tomorrow to do anothwr test but to be honest not sure I'll bother as really feel like AF is on the way! Did you have any symptoms?

Mrstaylor I seem to be seeing newborns and pregnant women everywhere at the moment too!

everycloudetc · 20/10/2018 13:03

Thank you rose maybe try again tomorrow with a lower sensitivity test either an IC or FRER? 11dpo is still really early so you're still in the running

I had the usual AF symptoms but the main thing that stood out for me was insomnia (I had this loads with DD1) and twinging burning feeling in my c section scar.

OP posts:
RoseReally · 20/10/2018 14:59

That was with a FRER, I think I'll try to just wait now to see if AF shows up. I don't have much hope as have no symptoms other than feel like AF is on the way! I need to stop testing early as it's getting a bit expensive Blush

Can I join??

Ttc no2
DS is 2 and a half
Cycle 4
CD 13

Had an almost positive opk this morning so hopfully ovulation is gonna happen in the next few days! Dtd everyday until I know I’m past “O” time. The last 3 months we seem to stop dtd once I get a positive opk so this month we are going to go past that day just in case I O a little later!!

Has anyone heard of Guaifenesin?? It’s an ingredient in cough syrup. It thins out mucus in ur lungs to help you cough it up but it works on mucus throughout ur body including cm. I started taking it 2 days ago just to give it a try and it has definitely helped. Does anyone know of any success stories using it?? Xx

Mrstaylor18 · 20/10/2018 16:03

Ahhhh congratulations @everycloudetc that’s amazing!

Hi Lubilu28, I’ve heard of it only I cough syrup but never to help with cm what a good idea! How are you having it just in cough syrup? I’ve been using soy isoflavones last month and this month but hubby totally missed O this month 🙄 so was wasted xx

Lubilu28 · 20/10/2018 18:40

@Mrstaylor18 I’m taking Wilko’s own brand, mucus cough. U can take others but it has to only have the 1 active ingredient Guaifenesin. I’m taking 200mg 3 times a day and it’s really helping!! Flavour isn’t so bad but I’m downing a glass of water down after as I’ve heard that also helps too! I’m gonna stop once I know “o” is past and then just hope for the best!! Xx

Hopingfornumber2 · 20/10/2018 19:56

Fantastic news everycloud. Congratulations!

LorelaiRoryEmily · 20/10/2018 21:17

Congratulations everycloud! Delighted for you

LauraPalmersBodybag · 21/10/2018 19:40

Such nice news @everycloud ! My DH and I have been trying every few days this week, I’m test racking my cycle and often feel a twinge when I ovulate (which acording to my app and how I felt, was today) so hopeful that the timing is right. So I’m taking DPO for tomorrow....I’m going to try not to obsess about watching for (read: googling) ‘early pregnancy symptoms’ and be patient. Easier said than done though.

How soon does everyone test? Last time I didn’t until my period was late, but I feel like I’m paying more attention this time around so it’s harder to get on with things.

Wishing you all luck still...

Congratulations Everycloud

Dd is approaching 2 1/2
On cycle 10 now.
Had an early miscarriage cycle 2. Nothing since. My due date would have been next month. I really though I'd be pregnant by the time that came round. Very unlikely now!

Cycles are usually 34 days ish, but had some very random long ones before and a random 30 day one last cycle. I really thought last month was 'the one' but I was wrong and then fucking miserable for a few days.

As I'm over 35 I'm being referred to the sub-fertility department - sounds fun! Dh's sperm has been tested and is ok. I've lost weight so now have a healthy BMI but I don't eat enough fruit and veg or do enough exercise.

Fingers crossed for everyone.

seven201 · 21/10/2018 23:04

Congratulations everycloud! That was quick!

Mrstaylor18 · 22/10/2018 08:05

Hi @seven201, I hope you’re ok. We’re on cycle 16 now so I totally understand. Last month I got sent to the crisis team at a&e because I was hysterical for 48 hours straight 🤦🏼‍♀️ And I’m now on medication. TTC is hands down the hardest thing I’ve ever done, sending you tonnes of love x

Mrstaylor18 · 22/10/2018 08:09

Also do some research on soy isoflavones for shortening your cycle and boosting your ovulation. It’s the natural form of clomid and I fell first time I used it with my son after a year and an mc. I’ve been using it last 2 months but we totally missed O this month because hubby was away but it brought it forward 2/3 days and was very obvious. You can get them in Tesco for £4 xx

Cocobana · 22/10/2018 08:11

Congratulations Op how amazing!! Smile good luck everyone. This is my first month trying to conceive dc number 2 and for some reason I’m scared it may not happen as quickly as dc 1 and don’t know why! I have heard second child can take longer to conceive though.

seven201 · 22/10/2018 08:29

Gosh Mrstaylor, you poor thing. Are you ok now? It's mad isn't it. You think trying for a baby would just be lots of sex and patience, but it really does push you mentally if it doesn't happen within a few months. Sometimes I'm fine and have a level headed attitude to it, but other times I just have so much anger about it! And I realise I'm very lucky to already have a dd and that 10 cycles is a drop in the ocean to some. I've got a friend going through a second try at IVF at the moment. Why isn't baby making fair to everyone?!? Everyone in my antenatal group has either had baby two or is pregnant with number 2. I'm very jealous!

Mrstaylor18 · 22/10/2018 10:58

I’m up and down really, it’s hard with normal hormones before af and then you realise af is coming to get more and more worked up but it doesn’t get any easier.
I’ve come to realise that you can’t compare yourself because there will always be someone who has tried for longer, and I have friends with 3 children but it doesn’t stop the feeling of desperation for a baby otherwise nobody would have more than one baby. Everybody’s journey is different and nobody should make you feel bad because they don’t think you should x

seven201 · 22/10/2018 20:39

Be kind to yourself mrstaylor. It must be so hard with a partner away a lot, and obviously much worse when he's away somewhere dangerous. I hope you get happy baby news soon xx

RoseReally · 23/10/2018 12:50

AF due today, no sign yet but I have lots of cramps so expecting any moment! Had another BFN on Sunday (12dpo). I want to get some cheapie ovulation sticks and pregnancy tests, can anyone advise where to buy them? Looks like very cheap on Ebay, just not sure whether to trust that!

Good luck everyone!

RoseReally · 23/10/2018 12:59

Forgot to say Flowers to MrsTaylor, sounds like you've had a really tough time of it. Hope you get your BFP very soon.

Mrstaylor18 · 23/10/2018 14:56

RoseReally I get mine from amazon and they’ve always worked fine x

seven201 · 23/10/2018 16:31

We have DS 19 months, I'm 36, just getting over a chemical pregnancy which has made us realise how much we want #2.
Tracking with ovia and just ordered some ovulation strips.
Hoping the CP won't have messed my cycle up too much!
