Welcome @Iusedtobecarmen, I am taking royal jelly & bee propolis plus a few other things.
@Mattsmama - sorry about AF, it’s so hard isn’t it. x
Not much to report here, I’m still not feeling well, but my Acupuncturist doesn’t think it’s to do with the dhea. I have only been taking 25mgs, but I might increase that back up to 50mgs. I usually get pmt 10 days before AF is due, no sign of that yet this month, but that’s probably cause I don’t feel well. Sad

Funkypuzzle · 13/10/2018 10:57

So today I got a BFP!!😱😱
Boots own brand. Line is visible but much fainter than control 15dpo.
I don’t know if faint line means I’m at risk of a chemical.
I’ll go buy another brand later.

I’m 42. 2nd cycle post Mirena removal. TTC #3.
Taking 600mg co enzyme a, 25mcg VIT D and 5mg folic acid.

I am utterly shocked and frightened as well. 🤭🤭😯😯

Just seen you can’t even see the line in the photo but it is definitely there. Hope this one is clearer

The photos are all rubbish but you will have to take my word for it 🙃

littlemimosa · 13/10/2018 11:09

Yay Funky!! Congrats! I just love love love a bfp on here. It looks clear as Day to me:)

Welcome Iusedtobe. Good for you ttc at 48. Why the hell not. Regular periods = fertile lady.

Mattsmama - sending a big hug. I know exactly how you feel. CD1 is awful.

Cleo - not quite but next month we’ll be ttc again. My cycles do seem to be ok again. I’m doing lots to balance the hormones. Glad you like Inconceivable. It’s v inspiring isn’t it.

Rose68 · 13/10/2018 11:21

Wow! Congratulations @Funkypuzzle!
I can definitely see the line!
xx

Cleozeta · 13/10/2018 11:30

Congrats funky! Yay Smile

Welcome Iusedtobe

Sorry af came mattsmamma, fingers crossed for next cycle

Rose did your accupunctuist recommend the dhea? Do you think I should tell mine I'm thinking of taking it?

Mimosa what are you doing to balance your hormones?

A bit concerned about mine at the moment as I am certain I ovulated 2 days ago, but temps have not gone up yet. I've noticed over the last few cycles that my temps have become very slow rising, I think it may indicate progesterone problems or an imbalance with hormones. Last cycle it eventually rose super high but just started slow, not like the sharp rise I used to get after ov.

MATTSMAMMA · 13/10/2018 11:36

Thanks ladies Smile it really is so good being on here. We totally get each other and that means a lot xx

@Funkypuzzle. I can see that line nice and clearly! Brilliant Grin Congratulations! x

Floofsquidge · 13/10/2018 11:56

@Funkypuzzle congratulations!

Boots own was one of the (four!) tests I took and was def much lighter than the others at two days past period due date. I read that the boots own tests aren't as sensitive with a higher level of hcg needed.

Rose68 · 13/10/2018 11:57

Cleo - I had already ordered it when I first spoke to him about it. I don’t think there is any harm in talking to your acupuncturist, they should be a bit more clued up on these things than us.
I don’t know much about temperature rises, I’m trying to avoid going that route cause I know it will only give me something else to stress over.... saying that... I have been randomly taking my temperature at completely different times of the day with our normal ear thermometer, I realise this is a silly thing to do Blush

Funkypuzzle · 13/10/2018 12:10

Floofsquidge that is very reassuring. I will buy a digital test later for peace of mind. Hope you feeling ok and you are progressing nicely.

Those who have been on the thread may recall that I was convinced I was pregnant last cycle. I had marked nausea and hunger pangs from about 8dpo. I got a BFN at 12 dpo and was totally confused. I got my AF on time in the end but it was very heavy. I was at work when I could feel my cervix dilate on day 2. I bled clots through my dress, cardie and then thru to the seat of my car. Luckily I was wearing black! I don’t know whether I had a chemical or if maybe progesterone levels were very high as I still had some in my system from Mirena?

Anyway here I am again.
I have a complicated and worrying background in that I had a positive Harmony test 2 1/2 years ago and ended up getting a termination at 13 weeks. That is why this time I chose to take high dose folate. I read there is some promising research about high dose folate protecting DNA in early conception. But now I have to wait it out until 9 or 10 weeks when I can get the test again. That is assuming I do not miscarry before then.
I am having night time hunger pains and mild waves of nausea so hoping this is a sticky one.

Funkypuzzle · 13/10/2018 12:11

Hunger pangs I mean

Iusedtobecarmen · 13/10/2018 13:04

Thanks I'm feeling inspired by all of you.
I just wish late period would hurry and come so i can restart properly!

Chatbash72 · 13/10/2018 13:17

Welcome @Iusedtobecarmen yup whilst af still comes you're still in the game... and big congratulations @Funkypuzzle.. not much to report here af finished so back at enjoying the contraceptive free bonking.. another article in the times ( patient has it ) about sperm being good in spring and autumn.. cooler for testicles and lots of daylight... so happy days ladies... xxx

weasledee · 13/10/2018 17:37

Congrats funky!!!!!

I heard on the radio before that Jo Brand had her first at 43!

Funkypuzzle · 13/10/2018 17:41

Kate Silverton had both her kids in her 40s.. Im sure there are lots of examples 🙂🙂

DabofRouge · 13/10/2018 18:06

Congratulations, @funkypuzzle!

Evug1234 · 13/10/2018 18:42

Heartiest congratulations funky...... fx for a sticky bean

BooseysMom · 13/10/2018 19:48

Wow a def BFP Funky!! ...congratulations Flowers I was 41 when I had DS and everything was fine. Keeping everything crossed for you gal! Grin

Welcome Iusedtobecarmen. I am also sort of ttc but as I'm v. nervous about it we end up dtd at the wrong times and just leaving it to fate hence it is taking ages and I'm fast running out of time at 46! But we feel blessed to have DS and he's very anti sibling at 5 yrs. He knows who rules the roost! I have days when I have tremendous guilt for not trying harder but then the harder you try the chances seem to lower as stress takes over .. so I try to tell myself relax and what will be will be

PetraRabbit · 13/10/2018 20:10

Funky- big congratulations! So exciting to see BFPs on this thread. The termination must have been terrible- sorry. Hoping for you this time. All the signs look good! The odds are you'll be fine. I was nearly 42 when I had my only DC and it was all perfect.

littlemimosa · 13/10/2018 21:58

Cleo - I’ve been:
Doing lots of yoga including YogaYin (on YouTube).
Meditation (using Headspace app but also doing my own inspired by Julia Indichova the Inconceivable lady where I imagine a bright warm light going into the top of my head, energizing my pituitary, thyroid, ovaries etc)
Getting lots of rest and sleep
Eating super healthy diet, organic food, low sugar, minimal refined grains.
Supplements especially vitamin E and magnesium to boost oestrogen
Lots of water and herbal teas
Epsom salt baths
Reflexology

Ameliel · 13/10/2018 22:13

@Funkypuzzle congratulations, amazing news! Shock fingers crossed for you xx

Welcome @Iusedtobecarmen SmileI'm trying for baby no.4 too! Smile

A small update from me:
I came home from few days of long distance travel a week ago, I didn't bother with temperatures or OPK when I was away, due to time difference and jet lag... anyway, got a very faint positive OPK a day after coming back... and my temperatures went up the next day and have stayed up the last 6 days.

I am starting to think that I ovulated on the OPK+ day... (as background , I've come off the Nexplanon about 4 weeks ago and my cycle has been all over the place up to now- so that would be my first o in about 7 years!!)

So if that's the case, i would be 6dpo today... so excited to see how it goes from here!

Chatbash72 · 14/10/2018 08:49

Bugger just realised going to away from hubby during ov this month.. well for first Kindara predicted days.... fingers crossed for an early egg drop and swimmers staying strong In the tubes for a few day 🤞🤞

Funkypuzzle · 14/10/2018 10:02

Wishing you all the very best and so much baby dust you that sparkle!
I really rate the co enzyme q 600mg and the vitamin D. I think they both helped energise and spruce up my tired eggs! Just hoping they replicated properly! I am looking into NIPTy test options now.
