Thank you, yes super crap but trying to remain positive. Wine tonight.

Minime - hopefully just a one off odd cycle, unusual to be in perimenopause with ok mood though! Why are these things always so stressful?!

Thanks everyone. Its good to be able to talk / winge to people who get it.

On to cd2 today and off to get my fsh test. Wish me luck - I think I'll need it!

Cazamelia · 29/10/2018 13:49

Hi hope it’s ok to join this..I’m not quite 40 but just turned 39. I have two children already (10 and 12) but ttc with my new partner who hasn’t got any kids yet. Scary thought to go back to it after 10 years eek. I came off the mini pill mid July and periods have been a bit irregular since but last Month was back to 28 day cycle so hoping itlll stay this way now so I know where I am!

littlemimosa · 29/10/2018 19:02

Welcome Caz. You’re in the right place!

Cleo - glad you’re staying positive despite everything. Am just about to guzzle down my second ‘yummy’ tea of the day.... so I was happy to hear how positive you are about it. It’s flippin disgusting. I have to hold my nose to drink it lol

So ladies, I’m coming to terms with the fact that I’m in peri menopause. I’ve been doing lots of reading around the subject and realise now that the early ovulation I experience as well as the equally annoying not ovulating for ages cycles are the oestrogen fluctuations we get in peri. When I ovulate early my body goes crazy with too much oestrogen causing an egg to release early, then on the (becoming more frequent) cycles I don’t ovulate until say day 30-40 the oestrogen is low. Apparently it’s these wild fluctuations that are typical of peri. Hence more and more irregular periods. I realize it’s normal but it’s truly depressing when you want a babySad

Anyone else experiencing earlier and later ovulation?

Am just hoping the Chinese medicine and acupuncture can help to balance things out for just a little while longer.

Cleozeta · 29/10/2018 20:22

Welcome caz

Mimosa maybe it might be worth you doing a cd3 test, just to see where you are with it all? I'm sure the TCM will help balance things out a bit. Also remember that perimenopause can last for up to 10 years, and I have managed to conceive twice now and am deffo in peri. It's not the end yet.

minime2017 · 29/10/2018 22:16

@Littlemimosa im sure im approaching perimenopause too due to the changes in my cycles, mainly since i had the miscarriage. My cycles have been knocked off completely where theyd been a regular 26/27 days. In the last 6 months theyve come at 24 days to 33 days. Ive had ovulation symptoms from cd5 and some stronger symptoms cd16. Other symptoms include v little cm around the fertile period and mood dips. Im on pregnacare/seven seas but gave taken to adding a Vit B complex to the mix to see if it'll help.
Thoroughly cheesed off of it all. Read a post on FB from some news site about ivf not being offered to women beyond 34 in some areas even though it should be given til 42 on nhs. Some of the public posts that followed were so encouraging 🙄...basically some were stating that from 34 women should give up, its natures way of preventing older parents etc etc... wanted to write a big Sod Off (only not so politely) on the post!

littlemimosa · 29/10/2018 22:18

Thanks Cleo appreciate that. I know it’s not over yet but i think I was in denial about the fluctuations I’ve been having. I’m only 42 so I feel too young for this but realize it could go on for years yet. It’s just so damn frustrating tic when you don’t know when to expect ovulation!

Everyone else on here seems to have regular periods still right?

WishingonaStar77 · 29/10/2018 23:33

@cleozeta sorry to hear your news. I just had a CM myself just finishing now waiting to start BD'ing again.

I think I've gone mad I've made myself a wall chart with stickers and smiley faces and stars for my BF to maintain his sperm quality when I'm not around 🙈..

Stay positive x

Cleozeta · 30/10/2018 07:56

Minime some area' don't offer IVF on NHS anymore for any age group. I think the government are cutting funding gradually throughout the country, first by lowering the age group the cutting completely. Some peoples attitudes towards older pregnancies are really shitty but I bet you anything the culprets are either young people (ask them again in 10 years if they still don't have kids and bet their attitudes will change) or older people who completed their families young (smugs) or bitter & twisted olds who never had kids. The fact that our bodies start to shut down for fertility at such a young age really sucks, but we don't have to give up yet. We can do this.

Cleozeta · 30/10/2018 07:58

Wishing - sorry you have just had one too. Really sucks. On the plus side we conceived. We can do it again!

Cleozeta · 30/10/2018 14:32

Just been to see my TCM guy, he seemed to have a pisitive attitude towards the chemical and is now going to be working on ways to try and get them to stick. He says a few reasons for the miscarriage could be either an infection, so I'll get tested at the dr's for that, or that my progesterone is currently too low, so I'll be wheeling out the progesterone cream for that. The only thing he did say was that I should not ttc for 2 months while we work on the progestrone. Sod that though. Not possible!
Feeling very positive after seeing him though

Snowie3 · 30/10/2018 16:12

So sorry Cleo. Its such a whirl of emotions.

But your TCM guy sounds great and positive. Plus i love your attitude - we got pregnant, we can do it again!

BooseysMom · 30/10/2018 19:24

Just catching up and wow, what a lot I've missed!

Welcome to Cazamelia

Cleo.. so very sorry to read of your chemical Flowers
Talking of attitudes to older women conceiving my sis-in-law is def someone who is anti. She's obv old and bitter as when I stupidly confided in her i was ttc she told me I was crazy and I was risking all sorts of horrific disabilities!! She hasn't got any kids and is obv completely misinformed. If by some miracle I did conceive she would be the last to know. Angry
My situation atm is weird..I think I ovulated about a week ago then suddenly all mucus disappears for a few days then suddenly returns with a major drop in mood. My poor DH got a right dose of it! This was yesterday then today I wake up feeling like a totally different person. I feel unnaturally high ..just like I've taken something! If i could bottle the feeling and sell it i'd be rich kinda thing!! I have a feeling I'm either preg (Shock) or am experiencing peri-men symptoms. AF not due for 10 days..way too early to test Confused

BooseysMom · 30/10/2018 19:26

Also heart palpitations thru the roof...anyone else get these??

Ameliel · 30/10/2018 19:44

I'm Catching up... @Rose68, thanks for your comments earlier.
so sorry for you @Cleozeta! Sending hugs to you.
Welcome @Cazamelia .
@littlemimosa, i have irregular cycle as well, it always has been so I'm really struggling to pinpoint ovulation.
Currently cd11, I had two faint positive opk's yesterday and day before, then a stronger positive this morning... but- my temperatures went up yesterday??? I thought the temperature rise comes after ovulation, not during?

Also I'm thinking ovulation on cd 9 seems far too early... so really I have no idea where I am at moment. DH is working away atm so dtd every other day is not possible... I'm thinking I've probably missed this months window...

Rose68 · 31/10/2018 11:05

Good luck with your blood test results Cleo, I assume you should be getting them soon xxx
