So I'm starting another two week wait, a bit sooner than anticipated. It seems I either ovulated CD 10 or 11 this cycle, which is very early for me.

Not sure if I'm 1 or 2dpo? Got a positive ovulation strip on Wednesday, by Thursday it was negative, but had lots of EWCM and CP was high soft and open. Would I get a negative OPK on the day or within hours of ovulation? Any advice would be much appreciated Smile.

Good luck ladies 🤞 Hopefully we get our BFPs this time! Xxx

@Triskaidekaphilia I've also heard that you can get 2 surges in one month if your body tries to ovulate, then doesn't, but tries again. I definitely reckon that's what's happening here with me anyway because CD10 is ridiculously early for ovulation for me, and since that dark test last night the EWCM has reappeared and my cervix has softened again. CD14/15 or even 16 would be more plausible for me to ovulat anyway since my avg cycle length is 31 days.

Triskaidekaphilia · 05/08/2018 12:25

Sounds more likely then, I would test on CD24 just in case but not expect anything until CD28-31 Smile

Momma22 · 05/08/2018 12:52

@Triskaidekaphilia will do, looks like I probably won't be getting a BFP until I'm back from my travels then, that's assuming this is my lucky month! Not sure if I should allow myself a glass of wine or two while I'm away now, lol, in a similar predicament to you

OP posts:
Triskaidekaphilia · 05/08/2018 13:26

Again I'd say a couple of glasses shouldn't do any harm, whenever I've heard this brought up on threads, people have said the foetus doesn't share your blood supply until 5-6 weeks.

Momma22 · 05/08/2018 13:46

@Triskaidephilia think I've heard something similar too, suppose it makes sense because it would obviously take some time for the placenta to actually form and start doing its job

Took another ovulation test, no.15 this cycle (I'm obsessed I know! 🙈) not darker or lighter than last night, guess I'll keep testing ...

Definitely a TMI question but how do you check your cervix, I'm just not sure how to find it and what is high/low soft/hard?

I am so confused now, I am getting very much negative opks but some ewcm today?! last cycle I got a positive opk on this cycle day but it is not looking like it's happening today 😕
I am just wary as although last cycle was 29days before that I had long irregular cycles so I am really hoping it is not going to revert back!

@Momma22 - it's good to know we are in the same boat with the illusive positive opk! 🤞🏻it shows up soon!

@Triskaidekaphilia - I am using the clearblue monitor that gives you fertile days (flashing smiley) and then your peak days (static smiley) except now 6 days of flashing I am not convinced static smiley is coming at all! They are pricier, but I have used one for two cycles so then I don't think it works out too bad.

Eminen · 05/08/2018 14:10

I got so fed up of using OPKs so I've ditched them. I've found BBT the best way to track ovulation. It tells you when you have ovulated, rather than when you are going too, but we've been DTD every other day to cover all bases (CD45 today and I could really do with a rest! Amazed DH has been able to keep it up too - quite literally GrinGrinGrin)

Momma22 · 05/08/2018 14:15

@FlapJackered, nothing is TMI to me, lol, I was a bit confused as to how to check my cervix at first, had no idea what a cervix felt like until I started ttc. I find it's easier reach for me whilst I'm sat on the loo, because my cervix seems to be perpetually high, you're basically feeling for something that feels kinda donut shaped if that makes sense?

feerouge · 05/08/2018 15:03

Hi everyone, ttc for baby #2, our DD is 2 and half now. Not really trying hard yet, I'm waiting 2 weeks from now to test though. Fingers crossed! Good luck to all of you!

FlapJackered · 05/08/2018 15:43

Welcome @feerouge !

@Eminen - we have been Dtd every other day too and due to have sex today but it's so hot! I don't think DH is going to be keen.

@Momma22 I found it!! Although have no idea if it's fertile or not! I almost couldn't reach it so I assume quite high but no idea if it is hard or soft.

Momma22 · 05/08/2018 17:36

@FlapJackered if you're fertile it should be high soft and open. I have heard that CP isn't the most reliable indicator of fertility however because it's position can fluctuate so much, even over the course of a day!

I still check mine everyday though, cause I'm obsessed with all things fertility related, lol, just try and check it at the same time of day each day

I am just wary as although last cycle was 29days before that I had long irregular cycles so I am really hoping it is not going to revert back!
Omg @FlapJackered that is so weird, I'm exactly the same! 29 days last cycle, before that I had a weird 18 day one that I put down to a smear test on CD14, and before that they were anything from 34 to 48! I got freaked out and had to double check I wasn't reading my own post! I'm still not 100% sure this is a more normal one especially with OPKs not showing anything. Last month if I did ovulate we would have missed it as we DTD on CD11 and 17 but I would have ov'd on 14-15, when I usually expect CD26, but also think some of mine were anovulatory.

Cervix position can be difficult. Took me a couple of cycles to work out what was soft/hard, low/high etc. because you need something to compare it to really. When mine's high it can be really hard to reach, and just before AF it gets really low. Atm it's still high but firm and feels really swollen- hopefully not cos I keep poking it! Sad

I was thinking of getting the clearblue because I have so much trouble with the cheapies. Think I'll get some next cycle.

@Eminen We've been DTD every other day as well, I've always known we should be but it was difficult to manage more than once a week, but because of my 29-day cycle last month I'm really hopeful this time. DH doesn't initiate very often so I've had to just accept being the one that makes it happen.Grin We talk about wanting a baby and we have sex but we don't talk about having more sex or having sex around a certain time IYSWIM which I guess keeps the romance but also feels a bit awkward. I think I'm just a bit more invested because we both want a baby but I desperately want to be pregnant like right now!

Welcome Feerouge! Smile

Still getting the crampy feeling, it's unpleasant but hopefully a good sign!

Eminen · 05/08/2018 19:25

@Triskaidekaphilia @FlapJackered so weird as my last cycle was 29 days!! Before that they were averaging around 35 so I was thinking that they were finally shortening. So this extra long cycle is particularly sucky!!
I never really say to DH we NEED to DTD tonight, I kind of just initiate it and try to make it as relaxed as possible. We did attempt SMEP but that was far too much pressure and just made DTD a chore.

Triskaidekaphilia · 05/08/2018 19:40

@Eminen that's so weird!
I wanted to do SMEP this month but never got a positive OPK so couldn't really. Just hope O wasn't later than I thought or we may have missed it.

Momma22 · 05/08/2018 23:38

@Eminen @Triskaidekaphilia @FlapJackered this is so weird but my last cycle was 28 days whereas before it was about 33 days on average. What is happening? Is this rare warm weather making evebody's cycle sync? 😂 God knows?? I was so surprised last cycle when my period came 5 days early, kinda got a bit excited thinking it may have been IB but about 4 negative pregnancy tests and 4 consecutive days of bleeding later, it's safe to say it was AF. I also wanted to do the SMEP plan this month but it was just a bit too regimented for us, we're just DTD whenever the mood takes us. Hopefully it'll work!

Hi all ill join if that's ok? Been a long time ttcer just need some support this month, I'm about 2dpo and had some serious back pain since yesterday that I can't put down to anything really, we've been decorating but that's all. I've had back pain post ovulation before but not this bad! Any ideas? X

FlapJackered · 06/08/2018 13:30

That's so strange we're all in sync!
@Triskaidekaphilia - mine were anything from 35 to 56. 🙄 I am also waiting for the illusive positive opk this time and everyday that passes is pushing this cycle on, just hope it's not a really long one again!

I feel almost ready to snap the clearblue monitor in two 😂 day 7 of the flashing smiley face mocking me!

Welcome @Owlpatrol , fingers crossed for you! 3dpo does sound a bit early for symptoms as implantation won't have happened yet, but you never know! 🤞🏻

Momma22 · 06/08/2018 13:53

Well, I'm still obsessively taking ovulation tests. Still getting distinct test lines, still not quite positive. CM has completely dried up. Cervix is still high, except now it's closed and slightly firmer.

Gonna take Thursday as my ovulation day for definite I think, because although I've had dark opks since. Wednesdays been my only real distinct positive. Gonna keep BD'ing though, just in case.

I was reading somewhere that we apparently always have a small amount of LH present in our bodies ,it's just that it is elevated right before ovulation. Maybe my opks are just picking up on that small amount of LH in my body, and they're dark but not positive, because my LH is there but not quite as elevated as it would be before ovulation. Well that's my theory for now anyway, unless I get a distinct positive in the next few days.

Hi again @Owlpatrol, recognise your name from other threads.
🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you this month

Owlpatrol · 06/08/2018 18:28

@Momma22 yes that's definately true about the opks
@TheMagicTorch thank you
@FlapJackered oh it's definately not implantation i think it's an elongated ovulation for some reason so going to try and dtd again tonight Grin

Triskaidekaphilia · 06/08/2018 19:17

@FlapJackered I gave up on my opks. They were supposed to be stored under 30 degrees and after the heatwave they stopped showing more than a very, very faint line (but usually none). I could have been totally wrong and ovulated later than I thought but my cervix went hard again on CD15-16 (can't remember which but it's upthread somewhere Grin) so must have been some time before that. Cervix is moving down already so maybe my pains on CD10 were ov pains!

@Momma22 if your CM has dried up I'd imagine you have already ov'd, but agree to stick with the BD'ing anyway Grin

Welcome @Owlpatrol, I think we were on a thread together back in December, I really got my hopes up too high that cycle and then stopped coming on this board. I've been getting lower back pain today too.

Still a bit of cramping today but could be constipation, UTI (definitely got both atm), implantation or AF already... need to stop trying to symptom spot and be patient Grin

LulaRose · 06/08/2018 19:49

Can I join in too? Long time TTCer here too. I really could use some support during this TWW as last month I went loopy, tested at 8dpo and had a vfl that quickly turned into a clear positive test, but I had a chemical pregnancy at 4.5 weeks 😞 I really want to avoid testing early this month, and spare myself the agony of the excitement and then crushing disappointment.

What date is everyone testing?

I'm hoping to last until the weekend of 18/19th (12/13DPO)

Owlpatrol · 06/08/2018 20:13

I've been not testing early lately but if I was to test it'd be around the 16th as I'll be 10dpo by then. I've only got one cheapie in though. I've never ever in 20 months had a faint positive Sad
