So I'm starting another two week wait, a bit sooner than anticipated. It seems I either ovulated CD 10 or 11 this cycle, which is very early for me.

Not sure if I'm 1 or 2dpo? Got a positive ovulation strip on Wednesday, by Thursday it was negative, but had lots of EWCM and CP was high soft and open. Would I get a negative OPK on the day or within hours of ovulation? Any advice would be much appreciated Smile.

Good luck ladies 🤞 Hopefully we get our BFPs this time! Xxx

@Momma22 it's possible but v unlikely I looked up on the countdown to pregnancy website and it says 70% of people will get a positive on 11dpo so it's very doubtful. I am cd37 tomorrow. I do have my usual af symptoms now too so I think it's onto the next cycle for me!
So exciting for you though and so lovely to have some good news! What are the next steps for you now? Do you have to book a midwife appointment?

Triskaidekaphilia · 26/08/2018 00:07

I still keep waking up with AF cramping, then nothing. At this rate it'll start when I'm on holiday Sad I had another BFN on Weds.

Momma22 · 26/08/2018 00:08

You never know? You could still be in the 30 percent. Are you 100 percent sure you know when you ovulated?

I got a BFN on what I thought was 11dpo, that was just going off when i had a positive ovulation test. When actually I must have ovulated much later, since I only got a clear BFP 23 days after the positive opk. I probably would have got another positive opk much later only i ran out of strips by cd18, kept BD'ing just in case, and so glad i did! Are you temping? Or do you know when you ovulate just from how you feel physically? I think there's always a glimmer of hope until AF arrives, because no matter how much charting, temping, opks you do there is never really a defintive way to know when you ovulated? It could still be early for you?

And thank you! We are so excited! I must say though, I am extremely paranoid this time round after my MC in April, my boobs feel sore one minute then fine the next, and i get little cramps on and off, which is very unnerving! I think once i get past the 12 week mark ill start relaxing and allowing myself to get a little more excited. Going to book my midwife appointment on Monday when my GP re - opens, think once ive done that it will all start feeling more real. Me and OH are also discussing booking an early scan just to put my mind at ease, theyre quite pricey though so i dont know? But a small price to pay for my sanity I think.

@Triskaidekaphilia Sorry about your BFN on wednesday. When do you go away? Hope you have a lovely time and AF steers clear!

@Momma22 I can completely understand the worry as I am sure I would be too. I think it's probably worth getting the early scan of it puts your mind at ease. I think I would get an early one too as I am a worrier.

I am pretty certain I am correct on dpo as I have been temping and opks. Funny this morning as my temp went up and I was expecting to to drop below the cover line as it normally does on 12dpo for af. I have had one cycle when af came on 13dpo so I am not going to get my hopes up as I think I would have at least had a faint line yesterday if I was. I will test again tomorrow if my temp doesn't drop.

@Triskaidekaphilia Sorry about the bfn - I feel your pain! Hopefully it will turn into a bfp or if not the least af with do the decent thing and avoid your holiday!

Momma22 · 27/08/2018 12:54

@FlapJackered I think I probably will book an early scan as I'm a nervous wreck! Been taking tests everyday to make sure the line's getting darker, I'm going a bit nuts I think 🙈 OH has kindly reminded me that there's no need for alarm as long as I have no severe cramps or bleeding and I should be relaxing and enjoying it, easier said than done though. Can't make my booking in appointment just yet as the GP is closed for the bank holiday, so will be calling tommorow, maybe I'll start to relax a bit more after that, will talk to the midwife about my worries and hopefully she should reassure me.

Have you tested again recently? Any closer to a BFP? x

@Momma22 exactly I am sure once you have spoken to the midwife that will ease some of the worries! Such an exciting time too though! Have you told anyone except for DP yet?

Temp went down below cover line today so I think af is on her way also bfn again. Af still hasn't shown but it must be imminent. Just want to get to the next cycle now. 🙄

Triskaidekaphilia · 27/08/2018 17:20

I had a weird intense hunger pain around midday (hadn't eaten yet), and threw up, then AF showed up a couple of hours later and it's an incredibly painful one at that! I think I've already said this but I'm less upset that I'm not pregnant, much as it would have been amazing, and more upset that I've had a 40 day cycle again, and last month's short one must've been a fluke. Sad On the plus side, AF should be over by the end of the week when I go away so I won't be so bloated. Me and DH are going to book an appointment to start testing when we get back.

Triskaidekaphilia · 27/08/2018 17:22

@Momma22 I'm sure everything's fine but I expect a private scan would put your mind at ease.

FlapJackered · 27/08/2018 17:33

@Triskaidekaphilia sorry af turned up for you. I am in the same boat as you with the long cycles. My last one was 29 days (after a 56 day one) and this one i am on cd38 with af due imminently. It's so frustrating isn't it!

Triskaidekaphilia · 27/08/2018 18:08

@FlapJackered it is! I will say that my 'normal' cycle was after I'd just done a detox diet that my nutritionist recommended so might have to try it again. I also got my expired implant removed so I thought that might have been the cause, but it seems maybe it was just my body after all. At least now I can enjoy my holday and If I somehow do ov before CD14 then the inevitable holiday DTD might catch it, if not then I'll be doing opks when I get back to get to the bottom of what's going on.

I've thought about it and even if I didn't ovulate CD28 when I got the pains, it would've been some time in that week when I was at my parents, so there's not really much we could've done about it.

FlapJackered · 27/08/2018 18:34

@Triskaidekaphilia that is interesting as my 29 day cycle I am sure was due to my diet. I was on a no dairy, gluten or alcohol diet. Then went completely ott on all the restricted foods this cycle, so not totally surprised it's longer. I am thinking about going back on it this cycle to test the theory. Also going to try and exercise more.
What did your diet involve?

Triskaidekaphilia · 27/08/2018 19:17

@FlapJackered Shock mine was too, it was a 21 day detox! If you had similar results that really encourages me to try it again! I also noticed my skin cleared up a lot, it stayed clear when I reintroduced gluten but after the dairy it flared up again- the nutritionist who gave me the diet said there's a lot of hormones in dairy. It's a shame I can't start right now at the start of this cycle but I'm not being that restrictive on my holiday!

Triskaidekaphilia · 27/08/2018 19:20

Oh, it was also high in protein and I was exercising 2-3 times a week, that's when I lost 3kg of fat and gained 3kg of muscle!

FlapJackered · 28/08/2018 23:27

@Triskaidekaphilia that's so funny it's exactly the same! Definitely going to give it another whirl now we both had success with it! 🤞🏻

Ellii · 29/08/2018 07:29

Hi guys, sorry for butting In haha. According to Flo I’m currently 8 days late on a 32 day cycle, I have been late before but never later than 3 days. I did a test 5 days late and this morning with fmu and using a frer, still a bfn and no sign of af. I have cramps and I did first start with very clear watery discharge that now for the past few days there isn’t as much but it’s more lotion like. Any ideas what would be happening as it is driving be crazy 😩 any help appreciated

xJune88 · 29/08/2018 07:33

Joining please.
Ttc#1, cycle 9, 6dpo due September 6th.
Had a mc in January at 7 weeks and a mmc in June at 14 weeks. I just want a little healthy bean so bad!! X

Triskaidekaphilia · 30/08/2018 19:20

Err... can a period last 1 day? Confused it was a heavy bleed so fairly confident I'm not pregnant, then the next day was just brown discharge, and today a very pale brown/pinkish discharge Confused

Welcome @Ellii, it's hard to say why that could be, but I hope it's a good sign for you.

@xJune88, sorry to hear about your mcs, wishing you the best of luck for this cycle.

FlapJackered · 01/09/2018 22:41

@Triskaidekaphilia how are you doing? Was it AF? Have you tested? Keeping everything crossed for you!

Triskaidekaphilia · 24/09/2018 21:35

How's everyone been getting on? Still not pregnant but I've just had another 28 day cycle so I'm kind of hopeful. Going to get some decent opks for this month. :)

FlapJackered · 24/09/2018 22:16

@Triskaidekaphilia
That is so great your cycle has shortened!
Me too! This cycle is going to be 29 days - af due tomorrow. What do you think did the job? I think the diet and exercise is the key for me so going to try and stick to it next cycle!
I feel like af is imminent but if I don't have a temp drop tomorrow morning I will probably test 😬

Triskaidekaphilia · 25/09/2018 23:34

Well previously, my diet and exercise was helping shorten them, but this cycle I kind of got off track with that BUT I was on holiday for the 2nd week- I wonder if it helped that I was relaxed and had sufficient vitamin d. Also although I was eating a lot of unhealthy stuff, it was fresh and varied and mostly unprocessed, and I swam and walked a lot. So that coupled with less stress could've made a big difference. Unfortunately I would have ov'd around CD14 and we had a gap in DTD between CD10 and 15 so just missed it. But I can't credit it to cutting dairy this time as I only stuck to that about 4-5 days out of the 28!

saze4 · 27/09/2018 14:59

Ttc for 6 month now, period 1 day late but sore boobs🤷🏼‍♀️ will test in a few days if af doesn't show

Triskaidekaphilia · 07/10/2018 17:42

@saze4 how did you get on?

I've used the CB advanced for the first time this month, got a flashing smiley yesterday so hoping I might get a solid one in the next few days. Don't usually give DH the details of my opks (don't usually get positives tbf!) but have told him this time, he was quite excited, it was adorable :)
