@KnitKitty ah im sorry, i know how you feel!!
16dpo bfn this morning, no AF!
Should have come Friday or yesterday.

KnitKitty · 29/07/2018 21:15

Thanks ladies, but not feeling hopeful.

YellowDaffodils86 sorry you're in the same boat as me. It sucks.

Yukka · 29/07/2018 21:17

@hayleyfx thinking of you Hun I can't imagine how tough it is for you. Please do take counselling from nhs it's well worth it even when you think you don't need it. Grief can creep up on you in strange ways but the only path to your future bean is through letting this one go. An awful situation but stay strong, think about future outcomes and you'll get through it xxx

@boboelephant lovely words... especially today as I've been planning my 40th birthday trip (Feb) debating what the chances are of being pregnant for it or how many more times I could mc between now and then... this is getting tough... but you reminded me to keep swimming....thank you :) x

@knitkitty your not out till AF arrives - it's a shit time in the ttc game. See what tomo brings x

Sorry someone asked about SMEP but I can find the post...we did that and worked more than once. Advice: staying power is critical! Knowing how to keep each other 'turned on' is also critical.. you might need to try knew things! And treat yourself to some sexy underwear, by day 5 you'll need something to make you feel special. Plan a date night out! X

Boboelephant · 29/07/2018 21:46

Oh @KnitKitty I'm so sorry. That's so crap! I still have everything crossed for you and @YellowDaffodils86. I know the total crushing feeling of the whiteness and I'm keeping both of you in my thoughts.
@zarala welcome back! Maybe a couple of welcome back sessions for DH and then a few days of rest before SMEP starts properly!
@Yukka glad it helped! Definitely important to remember to just keep swimming! 😀 Also great advice! 👙👍

Russkispy · 29/07/2018 22:08

@knitkitty, still fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Cakelaur · 29/07/2018 22:20

@KnitKitty and @YellowDaffodils86 yup I didn't get bfp until 15dpo. And was negative up until then. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Funkyemzie · 29/07/2018 22:22

@fnej01 we did SMEP this month but missed a day. I also drank grapefruit juice from 1st day after af up to ovulation and then swapped to fresh pineapple including core up to 12dpo. I'm not sure if it contributed to the bfp but worth a try. Apparently the grapefruit thickens your lining and pineapple core helps with implantation.

@Jessabean I just can't believe we're preggo buddies! Goin to call docs tomorrow as need to start on aspirin due to previous pregnancy with DD and had pre-eclampsia.

@Knitkitty I'm gutted for you babe. Are you going to test again or just wait? I love your mums analogy on nerves, I'll try to remember that. Xxx

Does anyone mind if I hang around for a bit longer, not quite ready for the other boards yet.

Funkyemzie · 29/07/2018 22:23

Thank you all so very very much god the congratulations. ❤❤❤

Dyra · 30/07/2018 00:42

@funkyemzie Belated congratulations! Fx for a sticky bean!
@haleyfx So very sorry to hear your news. I simply have no words. Just sending big virtual hugs your way.
@Knitkitty and @Yellowdaffodils Here's hoping AF is late for a reason. It's not over, until AF says it is.

As for me, I took a second test that remained as white as pure driven snow. So the first was for sure a evap line. At the time, that was 14dpo. To drive it all home, AF then reared her ugly fat head yesterday and has settled in. Sad

On one hand, boo, not pregnant. But on the other hand, it means this cycle was a mere 30 days, rather than the 35-40 I was expecting. Also, the acne bout hopefully means I did ovulate, but we were just unlucky with the timing. Here's to another month. Gin

Bobzybaby · 30/07/2018 06:22

Just looking for a bit of reassurance. We DTD last week Sat, Mon and Wed. I then ovulated out the blue Thursday. We then DTD Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I was hoping to continue today and every other day until AF. Just to cover all bases. However, husband is absolutely loaded with the cold and I've put my back out 🙄 do you think we've covered it enough this month?! I'm worried I'll maybe be out through lack of effort 🤔

strawberrye · 30/07/2018 06:47

@Bobzybaby I think you've definitely covered your bases there!

@KnitKitty so sorry for the BFN, I was convinced this was going to be a BFP. Gutted for you - but remember you're not out until the big fat red lady sings

KnitKitty · 30/07/2018 08:02

Thanks strawberrye I'd convinced myself too.

Cakelaur what DPO would you normally have got AF on?

I didn't take another test this morning as there wasn't even a sliver of a line yesterday. If AF still doesn't show up my Wednesday I'll test again.

I have woken up to a beautiful array of spots on my forehead. I usually get these a couple of days before AF. (But I also got them during early pregnancy last time.)
I have no idea if my last pregnancy was a late implanter or not as I didn't test until CD40. I was going to test earlier but just as I was going to I started bleeding and mistook it for AF.

I can't believe I'm getting my hopes up again. But I was just reading that the implantation process can take about 3 days and HCG isn't detected until at least two days after that.
I had sensations in my uterus Thursday, Friday and Saturday. So if that was implantation occurring...

Gagh! I don't know. If AF is lurking I just hope she shows up soon.

Feeling like crap today. My asthma has been really bad these last 24 hours (haven't really needed my inhaler for about 3 months and have needed it about every 4 hours), which means I haven't slept well; got a blocked ear and feeling a bit queasy so I think I'm coming down with something. Sad
Also got my first stretch marks yesterday.
OH noticed I had a "bruise" on my hip when I got out of the shower, it was actually a new stretch mark, and a load of silvery lines next to it. I guess I must have put weight on... Confused
And the weather has turned like it can read my mood. I feel like going to bed all day.
Sorry, I'll snap out of this glum soon. Just having a wallow.

Dyra Sorry AF arrived. xxx

Bobzybaby sounds like you've already covered all bases, so don't worry if you can't DTD again. Best of luck! xxx

Funkyemzie Hang around as long as you need to! I don't like it when people suddenly disappear! xxx

Boboelephant · 30/07/2018 08:15

@Funkyemzie of course you can hang around. We love hearing how you're getting on.
@Dyra sorry for af hun but grrat about a shorter cycle. Fx for next month.
@Bobzybaby it sounds like you have covered all bases, definitely not lack of effort. When you say you ovulated Thursday do you mean temps confirmed that or you had ov pains or a positive opk? The egg only lives for about 12 hours after ovulation so even if it was a positive opk and you didn't ovulate until Saturday you're still good. If it was Thursday you're definitely good! Just relax now!

Cakelaur · 30/07/2018 08:16

@KnitKitty I should have got af at 12dpo. I had spotting on 13dpo and 14dpo and then when it didn't kick in I tested again at 15dpo with frer and boom!! Bfp. 13dpo did and IC mid afternoon and not even a hint of a line and 15dpo was a squinter in bfp. I so hope this is it for you! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Boboelephant · 30/07/2018 08:19

Oh @KnitKitty sorry you're feeling down. It's such a crap feeling once you get your hopes up. But I still think you're not out yet and am keeping fingers and toes crossed for you. 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Bobzybaby · 30/07/2018 08:31

Thanks @KnitKitty @strawberrye @Boboelephant I done a CB ovulation kit and got my static face on Thursday (after a O wed). Was quite unusual as I normally get the flashy face for a few days beforehand. It was about 4 days earlier than I had expected. But, my periods have been a bit different since my last endometrial biopsy in April.

@KnitKitty I'm sorry you're having a rubbish time of it. The limbo is torture as you just want to know one way or another. Even worse when it seems everything else is stacking against you. I hope your day brightens a bit 💐 an exercise that I've found has helped my asthma is to take a massive deep breath in through my nose and let it out reeeeaaalllly slowly through the mouth. You've prob been told that before but thought I'd pass it on! X

Newbie21 · 30/07/2018 09:00

Hello ladies, just checking in. I've been a bit absent over last few weeks although I have been trying to keep up to date. Sorry to all those whose AF has shown up this month. Stay strong.

@Funkyemzie congratulations! And definitely do stick around. The positive stories keep me going and I would think that the early days are quite anxious times after previously experiencing MC, I'm sure I will continue to need support and this huddle is a lovely place for it.

@KnitKitty sorry you are feeling down. I found those last few days before AF due date quite stressful earlier this month. I think I too convinced myself it was happening. But to be honest, I think maybe the positivity, the hope, the will are what is needed even though if it doesn't get there this month the fall is harder. I'm still feeling positive for you and wishing you the best.

I'm on CD 8 so will start opk-ing soon as I have no idea when I ovulate so plan this month is 1- get pregnant!! And 2- at the very least try and understand my body a bit more.

Newbie21 · 30/07/2018 09:08

Quick questions - when is it best to use opks? First thing in morning or in evening? And should you check same time each day or does it not matter? HmmBlush

KnitKitty · 30/07/2018 09:43

Thanks Boboelephant, Bobzybaby and Newbie21.

I guess I'm not out then Cakelaur.

I just had a massive freak out yesterday as I have a history of endometriosis and got all worried that the pains I had last week were that rearing its ugly head again. Have calmed down again now.

I think I may have to talk to OH about using OPKs soon. My cycle had been pretty predictable up until now, but I feel like I don't know what it's doing this month. As OH isn't really up for the DTD every two days thing OPKs may be a sensible option. I'll see if AF shows up and then will bring up the idea with OH.

Bobzybaby · 30/07/2018 09:48

Hi @Newbie21 the best time to use an ovulation it is between 10am-8pm. I always get a negative if I do it in the morning. You're supposed to check at the same time each day but I vary it throughout the afternoon (usually between 12-4pm) depending on my work schedule. I usually try aim for between 12-2 though. I've used both boots own with the 2 lines and CB digital and prefer CB as there's no interpretation required! Hope this helps!

Newbie21 · 30/07/2018 10:05

Thanks @Bobzybaby that is really helpful. I will have to test as soon as I get home from work each day. I have some cheapy shop bought ones and CB digital will see how I get on!

Bobzybaby · 30/07/2018 10:14

@Newbie21 The own brand ones are just as good. I had to be really specific about ovulation because of tests I was going for so was paranoid I'd interpret it wrong! I need it to be simple 😂

Kintan · 30/07/2018 12:29

@Newbie21 I test three times a day from day 8 (using the cheap opk test strips) at around 11am, 2pm and 6pm. I've read that as you get older the LH surge can last for a shorter time - so as I'm close to 40, I'm paranoid about missing it!

Lovemysparkle · 30/07/2018 14:05

Afternoon all hope everyone is doing ok❤️ I’m just in the waiting room of medical centre waiting to have my combined blood test 😱😱

Mistymeow · 30/07/2018 14:21

@KnitKitty sorry to hear. I had a pretty similar situation two months ago, I was totally convinced and cried when it was negative. I decided from that moment I wasn't going to let my body dictate my emotions. I now don't symptom spot and put anything that feels unusual down to progesterone/hormone fluctuations. I feel a lot better now in the 2ww. But I'm still crossing my fingers for you this month, you never know.

@Newbie21 I use the cheap internet opks and try to use them every day around 2pm, but I make sure the urine is concentrated otherwise it will dilute the levels. It's so far proved fairly reliable.

Speaking of ovulation, I'm meant to ovulate today. I don't think so! I haven't had a clear positive on my opk, my temp just plummeted and no EWCM. But I've had quite bad cramps since yesterday and sensitive nipples (!) which is not usual for me at all. No idea what's going on. Maybe it's imminent...
