Here's the new thread. This is a lovely supportive thread for anyone who has suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately known as the penguin huddle- this is the place to survive the ups and downs of this crazy journey.

Kicking off with a roll call:

Thanks for the words of support and encouragement ladies. It really means a lot. I'm so glad I'm in this Huddle.

@Boboelephant looks truly amazing! Enjoy!

zarala · 23/07/2018 22:12

@RedRobin7 what a champ that dog is!

@KnitKitty hahaha! I love the fact you do it all analog haha. I think it's really cool actually- but I find the apps so convenient!
But yes I agree I think knowing less and just enjoying the journey is the way to go- and has always been my philosophy. I feel like after my diagnosis and the fact I need to monitor ovulation and take early pregnancy tests is just added so much added stress to this journey. It's just not the way I would choose to do this at all! But if it gives me a higher chance of not MCing again I am just gonna do it!
And yeah I have found my CM can be quite excessive- ever since the MCs I've definitely noticed more- and at weird times of my cycle too

@Boboelephant wow that looks so lush! And thanks for the pm explanation but I can't find the 3 dots?! 🙈

I am now 15dpo according to FF
CD 28
Temps still above coverline
Watery CM
Noticing a lot of odours
And cannot handle the heat
Not testing until Wednesday if AF doesn't show
But I bet she's gonna arrive tomorrow as I'm off to a pool party and that would just be like her....

DaisyMay25 · 23/07/2018 22:20

Hello!

I haven't posted in so long that it logged me out, I start seeding cycling this month (I'm only CD3) only two more months until I can go to the doctors for tests, me and DH are off on holiday in September and it lines up perfectly with my FW so we're waiting until after that to go to the doctors.

Hope everybody is well!

TedLife · 23/07/2018 23:46

Light pink spotting today... typical. I knew this wasn't going to be easy ☹️ my first pregnancy we got pregnant just by looking at each other.

Boboelephant · 24/07/2018 06:53

Thanks @Bobzybaby, @littleemma1, @YellowDaffodils86, @Newbie21, @zarala thankyou! Having a lovely relaxing time. Off to the Blue Lagoon today!

@littleemma1 hope work today is ok. Also I'm glad that you are doing counselling. Hope it goes well. Blog looks good- thanks for sharing!
@zarala hmm so the three dots are on the mobile site which is what I use. I had a quick Google and it seems like if you use the app you have to go through the inbox which is through the menu. The three lines at the top? Fingers crossed for you this month!
@DaisyMay25 hello! Hope you're well. Holiday in Sep sounds perfect timing!
@TedLife sorry hun. Hope you're not out yet. I know how you feel though. We used to be like that too. DH could sneeze in my direction and poof- pregnant! Now we have 12 day marathons and nothing. 😟

ronniemipperton · 24/07/2018 07:25

Morning all. Quick question: when you’re waiting for a negative HPT after MC, how negative does it need to be? Mine was pretty faint this morning (and bbt has dropped down to pre-pregnancy/O level today) but not sure if I need to wait till it’s 100% negative to start trying again - I’m guessing ovulation isn’t likely to happen while it’s still positive? Or do they just say to wait for a negative test so you don’t get confused and think you’re pregnant again when it’s still the same hormones from before?

My body is a bit rubbish at ovulating so I’m not actually expecting it to be anytime soon, but if it does happen I don’t want to miss it...

Russkispy · 24/07/2018 07:35

@ronniemipperton I had a similar question before as a had a very invisible line but could still see it. A couple of days later did HPT again and the test is negative. Can't be more blank! Asked EPU about it yesterday and the nurse said, HCG dropped to zero more likely or almost gone. Hope it helps

ronniemipperton · 24/07/2018 07:49

@Russkispy thanks, I’ll try again in a few days Smile

KnitKitty · 24/07/2018 08:30

littleemma1 hope the 5am alarm wasn't too rough on you this morning! Thanks for the motivation quotes on your blog, they've pepped me up. :)

Yes absolutely zarala if I needed to do all the testing to avoid MC I would too. Best of luck to you. Have you tested yet?? Enjoy the pool party!!!

Hi DaisyMay25 nice to see you again. Not sure what seeding is, but good luck. A holiday is always nice to relax and if it lands on FW even better. :)

TedLife what DPO are you? 11? Is your LP usually 12 days? Sorry about the spotting love. Hugs xxx You're not out until AF shows up properly though so I'm still keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you.

Boboelephant you deserve this holiday so much, I'm glad it sounds like you're having a lovely relaxing time! I'm not jealous at all... Hmm

Which test are you using ronniemipperton? If it's really faint you could give yourself the go-ahead if you want to. They say to wait for negative test to avoid confusion if you get pregnant again, but I guess the lines would get darker if you were to catch on the first try. I personally waited until completely negative, but it's really a personal choice so do what feels right for you. So long as you're not still bleeding you can DTD again. As for O before a negative, it is possible, but rare.
The doctor I saw at EPAU after ERPC gave me the results of my first negative test 4 weeks after the surgery. She said that it could still take up to 4 weeks to get my period back, so not to bother testing for a new pregnancy until then in order not to get my hopes up. But she said start trying again straight away if I wanted to. I got my period a week later. I don't think I ovulated at all before that period.
Hope this helps. Hugs xxx

YellowDaffodils86 · 24/07/2018 09:01

@TedLife no! Are you not 10dpo? Still fingers crossed for you.
How are things this morning?

@RedRobin7 how was your doggie overnight?

Iv a pack of FRER in my bathroom, dying to test but resisting. Only 11dpo and thats even if i got o correct.
Also if anybody has any charts to share that be great. Old or new😊👍🏻

Laney79 · 24/07/2018 09:13

Morning lovelies. This thread is moving like a bullet train! Sorry not to reply to all messages.

@TedLife hugs. Fingers crossed its not AF but totally know how you feel. It's such a kick in the teeth when you've done everything "right"

@KnitKitty I like the idea of enjoying a future pregnancy as you say-have the joy whilst it lasts, however long it may be. It's one of the (many many) things I'm scared of if we do fall again-that I'll never have that unbridled joy again.

@Boboelephant ah the blue lagoon! Loved it-although from memory when I went (years ago but end of April) it was bloomin freezing! Hope it's warmer for you!

@RedRobin7 what a gorgeous pup!

Well-it's my birthday today, officially last year of my 30's now. I have to admit I feel a bit down. Never had an issue with birthdays until now-always said it didn't matter, I am who I am. But age really does matter now doesn't it-the chances of another MC go up as my age does. That and the fact that all I can think about is that I should be 27 and a half weeks. Got given Jack Daniels and pimms -and for the first time ever on my birthday I was a bit sad to see them. Stupid huh. I'll try and be positive. I will.

zarala · 24/07/2018 09:14

Thanks@KnitKitty but AF arrived today in full flow! (As expected! And as predicted by Flo) so all my panic was me being silly!

But now it looks like my luteal phase varies from 12 days last month to 15 this month 🤨 although I didn't use opks this month so I'm hoping FF just got my prediction wrong

@ronniemipperton sorry I have no idea as I never tested after MC...I was just told my period would arrive 6-8 weeks after and so I waited.
First period arrived 30 days after
Second time I ovulated 5 weeks later and conceived (I had ovulation bleeding)
Third time I bled for a month after and then had 2 weeks dry then got my period
So as you can see it really varies!

@Boboelephant Have a fab time at the blue lagoon!! Sounds lovely.
I'll check on the mobile site as I can't find anything on the app! Thanks!

I feel like there's a few of us who's cycles have just started...hope it's everyone's month!

ronniemipperton · 24/07/2018 09:15

@KnitKitty, thanks, that’s really helpful - I’m just using Boots standard (not digital) at the moment. I’m not bleeding so I think we’re going to give it a couple of days and then go for it but not worry too much about testing etc (I’m not sure I’m capable of this but will give it a go!).

I have charts from Ovia but not sure how to get them in a shareable format - does anyone know?

ronniemipperton · 24/07/2018 09:17

Thanks @zarala it’s useful to hear about everyone’s experiences even if it’s impossible to predict!

TedLife · 24/07/2018 09:35

Happy birthday @Laney79 I hope today can be at least a bit happy for you. I know that every milestone has the potential to make you feel sad though. Hugs for you and hope you do something you love today. Flowers

@Knitkitty, @YellowDaffodils86 @Laney79 i'm 10dpo today, it was just a little pink when I wiped but I had spotting last month at 12dpo which I convinced myself was implantation and was so bitterly disappointed that it was just AF gearing up. I can't remember ever spotting before my period pre-MC. Nothing when I woke up this morning and not 100% sure if i can still see pink when I wipe this morning. Will keep an eye on what happens today.

I know i'm not out out yet but from what happened last month, this doesn't feel good, obviously would rather there was nothing. Annoyingly I need to travel to London for a meeting this afternoon and it's really the last thing I need Sad

Blondcat · 24/07/2018 09:39

@laney79 happy birthday 🎂🎁

InDreamland · 24/07/2018 10:08

Happy birthday @Laney79 🎂🎁 I hope you get to enjoy the day and get spoilt!

@TedLife I hope it's not AF! Feel for you traveling into London in this heat.

@littleemma1 I hope you didn't find the 5am alarm too painful this morning. Thanks for the blog link.

@ronniemipperton it's nice to hear you're starting to think about trying again now. I'm still very slightly bleeding, it's turned now to really dark brown and is very very light but I notice when I go to the loo there still some dark brown small amount of tissue I seem to be passing. I hope it ends soon as I'm getting really fed up now with it. Sounds like your bleeding was shorter than mine.

@boboelephant your holiday is looking amazing!

Angelbabyollie · 24/07/2018 10:22

@Laney79 happy happy birthday, hope u have lovely day xx

Russkispy · 24/07/2018 11:30

@Laney79 happy birthday! Enjoy it!
Fingers crossed AF stays away who's in 2ww.
Now it's all negative here, we'll start DTD this week. Decided not to wait for first AF. Right or wrong. I don't know. Got my acupuncture this afternoon which I'll do regularly.

Coffeist · 24/07/2018 12:19

Happy birthday Laney! I'm same age "in my thirties" right Wink
And what a lovely dog redrobin :)

I'm still waiting for AF - CD 32 - would be 2nd AF since MC. I did test this morning and BFN.. Looks like I'll be hitting blue cheese and wine this weekend Wine

EmmaJack86 · 24/07/2018 12:25

PurpleFushia · 24/07/2018 15:13

Hello everyone! Struggling to keep up as others have mentioned, especially as FW shot past. Tried opks for the first time and confused by the results - I got a positive last Thursday, but was only supposed to ovulate today according to the apps - but if, say, I actually ovulated on Friday or Saturday that would have been CD13 or CD14, which would suggest might even heading back to my pre-MC 28 day cycle whereas have been 30-32 days since then? Is that likely? Very confused. And it does make me wonder if my dates were wrong last month and if so we probably completely missed the window! Anyway, we did manage to dtd around then so fingers crossed we have a chance at least.

In other news I have been having some scans etc to check for fibroids - I was told I had them in my last pregnancy which ended in C-section and when I told the midwife at booking in she cancelled all my midwife led care and packed me off to the consultant - but no details have made it into my notes so it's all a bit of a mystery as to how many, where they are/were, etc. Anyway, had scan last week which kind of sucked as it was the same room where I found out I'd miscarried. Currently am sitting in the Antenatal waiting room at the hospital for the gyne doctor to talk me through the results - bit of a sad reminder of what might have been, but never mind. I do wonder if the NHS put much thought to these things sometimes! Anyway, the sonographer said she couldn't see anything so hopefully this will be straightforward! And as usual at this point at the beginning of TWW I am feeling optimistic - will see how it goes in a week when I'm itching to test!

Sorry to see the newcomers and hugs for those who have had AF come again or are having a tough time. Good luck to those who are near to testing time, must be time for some more bfps!

zarala · 24/07/2018 15:38

@PurpleFushia good luck with your results hun- hope it's good news!

@Laney79 happy birthday hun! Hope you have a fab day and get to enjoy some prossecco in the sun!

@tedlife sorry it's not looking positive for you but Fx!!!!

@ronniemipperton I agree- it just makes me feel less anxious knowing that there really is no "normal" when it comes to these things- if you know what I mean!

I'm looking forward to getting back to London on Sunday and beginning our FW (fun week/sexy week) DH just told me he splashed out on some surprise new lingerie for me 😍☺️ so baby making is gonna get into full swing over here!
We've never seriously "tried" before (except for or trial run in June) so I'm hoping we catch quickly! Or at least enjoy the ride....
Eek

Counting down the days!

Bobzybaby · 24/07/2018 16:18

My friend is pregnant and is having her 12 week scan soon. I can't help but feel really anxious for her. There is no reason to suspect anything is wrong, if anything, all the symptoms point to the pregnancy being fine.

She's the first person close to me that has got pregnant since my own losses. Has anyone else experienced this kind of worry? I feel bad for projecting my own experiences on to what it probably a really healthy pregnancy!!

(I haven't shared any of this with her obviously!)

Mistymeow · 24/07/2018 17:30

@Laney79 sorry you're feeling down on your birthday. It will get better. I hope the BFP is just round the corner x

@PurpleFushia glad that it's looking promising, sorry you had to go through another u/s.

@boboelephant I went to blue lagoon for my honeymoon, it's beautiful- enjoy!

Sorry to see new people on the thread, but welcome :) Looks like there are a few of us early on in our cycle (i'm cd7).

@bobzybaby my best friend had a few complications in her pregnancy shortly after my miscarriage. Even though I was extremely worried I made sure I didn't project my own anxiety onto her. I just reassured her with the facts and listened. In the end, she was fine and so was baby. If you're finding it hard see if you can talk to another friend, or your partner, as that way you are not going to upset your friend but you will still feel like you are getting some support to alleviate your worry.

For some reason I've found the last couple of days very hard. I've always been optimistic since having the mmc 3 months ago. I guess it will just take more time, but I do feel empty. I see everyone else getting on with their lives, and I feel haunted by what we have suffered.
