Thanks for the welcome ladies, lovely to hear the success stories already. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone. 9dpo and still feeling very unpregnant, gonna wait a few more days to see though...

CookieWaffle · 12/06/2018 14:39

Sorry to hear what an awful day you've had @Orchid222 :( xxx

Karigan198 · 12/06/2018 15:14

Sending you virtual hugs orchid. Be strong and stay as positive as you can.

I’ve already decided I’m going to take the medication route rather than play the waiting game myself. Will just have to see what next Monday brings 😕.

Get yourself a hot water bottle and some hot chocolate and give yourself time. X

Dickybow321 · 12/06/2018 15:33

Aww, Orchid, I'm sorry you're having a rubbish day. Please be kind to yourself. Sad

Orchid222 · 12/06/2018 15:59

Thank you ladies. I'm generally much more positive about the whole ttc thing especially that now I know I can get pregnant but I guess I hit a very low point today. Oh well hopefully I'll get pregnant again and it will be viable.
Karigan-what's next Monday, do you have another scan? How far along are you? One thing I'll say is just make sure you wait long enough to be absolutely sure, you don't want to terminate a pregnancy that is actually viable but taking a long time to develop. Over the last 3 weeks since my first scan I read hundreds of stories and there were quite a few where the baby didn't show until later so just keep that in mind.

I forgot to add a bit about myself:
41
1 DC, 2.5 yo
Ttc for over a year, currently waiting for a mc to happen to get moving again

So sorry you are going through this orchid. I understand the feelings and it really is awful. Hopefully this will be quick for you and you'll be back on the horse before you know it. I was surprised at how soon I ovulated after the miscarriage so start testing as soon as the bleeding stops or you may miss it!

Af came for me today, so I've not been one of those lucky 'pregnant again before 1st period' people, unfortunately. Still have an LP if 11 days which is less than I'd like, so going on the B complex and progesterone cream next cycle. Cranking up the vits etc and have stocked up on about 3 years supply of opk's and hpt's.....

MATTSMAMMA · 12/06/2018 16:11

Oh ORCHID - it made me cry reading your post. I went through something similar before DC2 was born. The hospital made me wait 4 scans (4 weeks) before deciding the pregnancy wasn’t viable- it was torture. It’s funny how our emotions can get the better of us. I often find myself in Costa for example sat having a latte feeling fine and then I look about me and realise just how many newborns are around me and my eyes fill up which can be embarrassing as sometimes I can feel lip trembling too as I’m trying so hard not to cry. Our local Costa seems to be a hub for new and pregnant mums! Other times I’m fine but it’s annoying and embarrassing when I have no control over how I’ll feel at any given time Confused.

I hope everything is resolved quickly for you and your hormones treat you kindly! They can really get the better of us sometimes. The only comfort we can get from a mc is that we can conceive and that we have increased fertility afterwards. Sending you a massive hug xx

CritterTamer · 12/06/2018 16:39

@Orchid - I’m so sorry to read this - I also cried when reading it. You’ve been so brave and positive up to now - you are definitely allowed to let go and have a little breakdown i think - take care of yourself. I hope things get back to Normal for you soon so that you can get back to ttc quickly xxx

Karigan198 · 12/06/2018 16:39

I’m a couple of days under 6 weeks. So by next Monday if it’s viable there should be a fetal pole present. If there is not then ‘options’ are to be discussed.

Chatbash72 · 12/06/2018 16:44

Ooh Orchid222 sending big big hugs.. big glass of wine perhaps tonight..
Cleozeta sorry af has hit.. you are going to rattle soon... saw a pill sorter in Lidl and thought of us all... but all steer clear of Lidl at mo... shit loads of baby and maternity offers in there.. sometimes wish they wouldn't.. you can steer clear off baby areas in shops and supermarkets if you are feeling delicate but only if you know they are there.. when I was in town on Friday, having m/c cramps all I could see was newborns... just thought "ahhhh p off Mother Nature"
Welcome Presh12345
As for me.. I am 45 ( years young )
I actually have 5.. (21,18,17 from 1st marriage) 7 and 5.. and do appreciate how lucky I am.. we were trying for our 3rd.. hubs no2 and I and had a m/c at 9 wks but stopped growing at 5, that was 2.5 years ago.. have been trying since chemical m/c 18 months ago and a m/c at 5.5 weeks in Feb and another on Saturday.. but while af still comes there is still a chance.. hugs and baby dust to all 💕💕⭐️⭐️

shinyblackdog · 12/06/2018 16:57

What a horrible day Orchid, glad you're feeling a bit better now.

Cleozeta · 12/06/2018 16:57

Pregnant people and newborns are everywhere. Thats probably why all the shops are going nuts for it at the moment.

Has anyone else struggled with drinking after a mc?? I've been getting terrible nights sleep and hangovers after just ONE glass of wine since the mc! I tried a beer last week to see if that was better, but no. 1 beer felt like I'd had 4. (Not at the time sadly, just the next day!)

hmmm123 · 12/06/2018 17:06

Hi all

Sorry to hear about your crappy day orchid

I had bloods taken today and going to get results next week to see what is going on as am getting AF every 17 days.. joy!

I'm 41 1 dc ttc 1 month

AtrocityNeedles · 12/06/2018 17:25

So sorry, Orchid.

I'm 44, TTC #1 since forever and a day

littlemimosa · 12/06/2018 17:57

Oh Orchid - I’m so sorry. I was hoping you’d come on with a report of great news. You are fully entitled to grieve this loss & must do so. YOIr body will get back to normal before you know it and you can take comfort in knowing that you can get pregnant. Take great care of yourself.

Cleo - so sorry for AF too. Perhaps your body just needs another cycle to get fully back in balance again. It’s very early days. I’m with you on the vitamins, I take a ton lately.
We should have a role-call for these!

Just done a YogaYin fertility yoga session. Who recommended it? I couldn’t remember? It’s so great. I love it. I’ve done it two days on the run now. I highly recommend it to you all! She focuses on egg quality so it’s fab for us ladies.

Mimosa- Age 42 (&1 month!) 2 DC age 5&7. Ttc #3 for 18months+

hmmm123 · 12/06/2018 18:48

Just for a bit of positive news have there been many successful BFPs on the 40 plus ttc thread since it started? If so can we name them and their age? It would be good if we could as inspiration as it's hard to not focus on the negatives due to our age isn't it? I think it's so good that we have the over 40 thread to discuss our issues together

I'm happy to have a look back at old threads and the pregnancy board to do some stats if nobody knows

KeepingTheFaith9 · 12/06/2018 18:59

First off Orchid - that’s pants. Your post made me cry and I know that if us ladies were to sit down on some comfy sofas right now we’d all be hugging you and each other. But for now - a virtual hug is all we have and thank God for the internet and the ability for us to be there for each other in these testing times.
Boosey - you are so right - in Turkey last week I counted in excess of 20 pregnant bellies on display - cuts me up, despite being happy for these lucky women.
And just to add to the resonance of your message Boo - here I am sat in Costa having a latte reading this thread!! You couldn’t have put it better if you’d tried. ☕️

Over 40 ttc - summer baby dust for me!
BooseysMom · 12/06/2018 19:00

So sorry Cleo. Yes i do that too btw..i have even been known to get a discarded bfn test out of the bin 10 minutes later just to be completely sure! The way it gets you ...

Thanks everyone for the great news msg's.
AliBaba2..re. Your ecg, why doesn't that surprise me?! I was half suspecting a malfunctioning monitor!

Rollcall ..i'm 46 (quite possibly the oldest on here so if manage a bfp everyone will go hyper! !). One DS. Ttc no. 2 for 2.5-3 years (but admittedly not seriously until recently) confirmed non peri-menopausal and mother nature is giving me a boot to hurry as i'm getting strong ov symptoms but no bfp's. Like weasledee also currently debating on whether to continue ttc as surely i'm too old now!

Welcome Presh. Sorry you are having a rough time. Hope you find support here ..good luck xx

KeepingTheFaith9 · 12/06/2018 19:02

PS : my stats
43 (44 in Aug)
History of MC - 1 before DD (3.5) and one after - been TTC for two years
My DD came @ 29 weeks. My partner is not keen for another child in view of this but I’m still ‘keeping the faith’ 🙏🏻

BooseysMom · 12/06/2018 19:11

Sorry everyone. .just catching up and so sad to hear about your bad day Orchid...here's a virtual hug from me xx
hmmm123 .great idea about listing the BFPs ..i can def remember 3 on the 1st part of our super long thread! !

Orchid222 · 12/06/2018 19:21

Hi ladies, thank you all for your support and virtual hugs, it means a lot and it's so good to be able to share it with someone besides my dh.
I see pregnant women and babies everywhere too...I think the worst was this morning though when I was sitting in the EPU's waiting room surrounded by pregnant women knowing my pregnancy wasn't going anywhere. Awful. The only good thing is that bleeding has already started so hopefully it will be over soon. I'll be going back home in a week or so and planning to see my ob-gyn so he'll be able to tell me if everything's gone and I'm ready to go. I just hope ovulation won't come too soon as dh won't be with me.
Hmmm-I think most recent ones were sparkly in Jan, Jojo and Cleo in April (?) and me last month. Sadly it didn't work out for Cleo and myself but we all got pregnant and I believe we were all 41 at the time. I know Cleo started a thread a while back for pregnant ladies over 40 so you can look there for more success stories. There's also this thread where someone asked who's the oldest person people knew who got pregnant, definitely worth a read to keep you going:

Sorry to read your update Orchid. You can only be strong for so long. Allow yourself time to process and grieve. Would recommnend wine and chocolate as a useful helper upperer. Cleo I had hoped Id have another bfp following my mc but Im still waiting. Af has ended and like yourself ive stocked up on opks and hpts for the coming months.

BooseysMom · 12/06/2018 19:49

Orchid, that sounds dreadful for you. I know the feeling too as after my last m/c i vowed to call it a day it was so traumatic. I also remember sitting in the hospital thinking 'no more'. But then like a miracle ds happened a few months later when we'd mentally given up on the whole thing.
Thanks for the link to the oldest woman to have got pregnant. I wonder whether the op ever conceived. She's my age. Would be interesting to know

Karigan198 · 12/06/2018 20:03

I think I count as a BFP although still waiting to see if it’s viable 😕
