Fab news @Alibaba2! Why do you think it might be a CP? Test again tomorrow and see if it gets stronger?

@littlemimosa I buy ubiquinol from Amazon. It’s a 300 dose and I think the onl6 300 dose on there.

Alibaba2 · 28/06/2018 13:59

Because it’s too faint for this stage and I have cramping that started out of the blue this morning. I should have tested on Monday when AF was due. I have a strong feeling AF will arrive today or tomorrow.

Orchid222 · 28/06/2018 13:59

Critter-sounds very positive! I'm convinced you're pregnant given the quality of your eggs and all the symptoms plus of course no AF!
Ali-I agree, test again tomorrow, it might not be on the way out at all but on the way in!
Mimosa-I do the same as Critter, 300 dose of ubiquinol from Amazon, the brand is Ved. I only take 1 capsule a day but Critter you said it should be 600 dose a day to make a difference, no?

Ali-sometimes hCG levels take a bit of time, I had a very faint line on the day AF was due and got a darker one 2-3 days later but I had to buy more expensive tests, cheapies were still showing faint lines, in fact they didn't get darker until about a week after AF was due. Remember when Karigan was getting bfn's she looked online and said there were lots of stories of good pregnancies that at first weren't showing on pregnancy tests. What brand are you using? I know cheap ones work for many but I'd go with a branded test and if there's still no AF by tomorrow, I'd be inclined to get a digital one.

Karigan198 · 28/06/2018 14:16

Yeah I did s lot of googling at in many cases the hcg levels can still be fine for a good pregnancy and yet too low to show for several weeks past AF. If you look at hcg ranges for pregnancy and compare them with the tests it’s pretty clear that the range end falls outside what many tests can detect. So be patient and test again in a week.

Or if still not sure you can always get an ultrasound like I did. Unfortunately it wasn’t to stick but it was definitely there.

Orchid222 · 28/06/2018 14:21

Karigan-how are you doing? Any signs of ov yet? Are you going back to the dr next week?

I did some reading about ubiquinol and while there was a lot of stuff about how it may help improve egg quality, the only vaguely factual info I found said that there was evidence that a daily 600 dose improved egg quality. The problem is that these are tests on mice as obviously experiments aren’t done on human embryos.

Some ladies on the infertility boards said their consultants recommended a dose of 300 per day so I dropped down to 1 capsule a day - didn’t want to risk over dose no anything while the embryos are on board.

Alibaba2 · 28/06/2018 14:52

Thanks - it was First Response so should have been a sensitive one.

Karigan198 · 28/06/2018 15:34

Makes no difference Ali. Even first response start at 25 and the range even at 5 weeks can be from 18 up

Critter that sounds really promising, especially the boobs thing, I had lots of stabbing pains with my bfp. I am very hopeful for you!
Ali hooefully it is not a cp. Test again tomorrow and see if its gets darker. Fingers crossed for you!

Mimosa I get a 200 dose from ebay, its the gold one thats usually really expensive from h&b but is much cheaper from ebay shop (same brand). I was only taking 100 a day but upped to the 200 dose now (one a day)

CritterTamer · 28/06/2018 17:10

Thanks Cleo. I’m adding dizzy spells to the list now - I feel really crap this afternoon!

Alibaba2 · 28/06/2018 17:52

Karigan - I always though FRERs were more sensitive than that so good to know. I’ll do a IC before bed, expecting a blank on that.

littlemimosa · 28/06/2018 17:58

Ali - I so hope it’s bfp for you later.

Cleo - is the brand Solgar?

Alibaba2 · 28/06/2018 18:05

Thanks Mimosa, I’d be surprised!

I take Woods Ubiquinol btw as they have a 3-for-2 offer on a lot.

littlemimosa · 28/06/2018 18:09

Thanks Ali. Do you take the 100mg ones?

Alibaba2 · 28/06/2018 18:20

Yes I do. I used to take 2-3/day but now I take them whenever I remember!

Chatbash72 · 28/06/2018 20:24

What does Ubiquinol do?

CritterTamer · 28/06/2018 20:30

It increases the energy reserves inside cell mitochondria. It does this for all types of cells so the presumption is that it does it for eggs too. This means that the egg has more energy to divide and grow before it attaches to the endometrium. This is one of the biggest problems for us older ladies as mitochondria energy reserves in cells decrease with age, so often our otherwise good eggs will just not have the energy reserves to survive for the time it takes them to implant fully.

The catch is it will only work on the primordial follicles which are still developing in the ovaries, so will take at least 3 months to have any benefit at all.

littlemimosa · 28/06/2018 21:58

Great explanation Critter. I’d also add that it has been jumped on as good for fertility as there was a study done on ‘middle aged’ female mice who were given ubiquinol whereby the pregnancy rates increased significantly.

I’ve ordered the Solgar 200mg ones off eBay. Great price Cleo! Thanks firvthe tip.

Alibaba2 · 29/06/2018 06:53

No line today, boo :-(

CritterTamer · 29/06/2018 07:46

I’m so sorry Ali xxx

Alibaba2 · 29/06/2018 07:55

Thanks Critter.

I’m really excited to see how you get on! We’re did a BFP! How are your symptoms?

littlemimosa · 29/06/2018 08:14

Aw so sorry Ali. That must really get your hopes up.

I’m truly miserable. Cried all last night just feel hopeless now. My af and ovulation has just disappeared. I’m struggling to come to terms with it never happening now. I mean how do you begin to accept it never happening and move on?!

Hobbes39 · 29/06/2018 08:31

Sorry to hear that @Alibaba2 - it's so unfair. 😞.
@littlemimosa - I don't know how to being to accept it will never happen - I've been asking myself the same thing often enough as having thrown everything at it and failed I do feel like it's v unlikely to succeed now, but I can't give up yet - I wish I could as I think it would be easier...
I don't think that you are necessarily out yet though - it's so common to have whacky cycles that while this might not be your month, there is no reason to say next won't be fine.
I have 2 friends who I know due to their DC who are the same age as my DS - they were 45 & 46 when they had them, naturally conceived - they bother though they were starting menopause when actually they were pregnant - so I'm clinging on to that...!
