🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧

A thread for all those who have suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately know as the penguin huddle.

We'll start with a roll call as there have been so many new members lately and so many success stories that I think we've all lost track.

@PassTheAfterEights oh hun I'm so sorry! That really is shit. Sending you big hugs 🐧🐧🐧

Jessabean · 12/06/2018 22:03

Hi everyone

Sorry I've been lurking and catching up with reading messages here and there but not really had much of a chance to post back properly the last couple of days.

@KnitKitty I'm sorry to here about the faint positive FRER. That is so confusing. I think it's much more likely to be left from CP than the previous mc. Sounds like a plan testing again in a week or so but if you want to know before then/is still positive when you retest but don't want another scan you could go to your GP and ask for them to do bchg levels in your blood- they can't check them days apart and check they're falling.

@Pampl3m0usse & @Pancakes7 sorry to hear you've both not been feeling great. I can relate with the UTIs both times I got pregnant I had a UTI - was a bit too much JKS I think- evidently the only way I can manage conceiving though!

@PassTheAfterEights I'm sorry to hear about your situation - I think it's so much harder when you've had the positive FRER to then have AF arrive. I think it's a good bet to talk to your Gp about possible referral to the recurrent miscarriage clinic though- hpt's are so accurate these days that you don't need to have 3 registered pregnancies to qualify.

@Boboelephant & @Murderino sounds promising with the cramps 🤞 keeping everything crossed for you both! When are you planning on testing?

@Laney79 & @Murderino I completely agree about Facebook. I've recently unfollowed anyone who had had been posting about their babies/bumps. Unfortunately that seems to be most people and now my newsfeed is full of distant acquaintances that I don't really know that well now so I've now just stopped using nearly altogether!

@Wescat Welcome though sorry you find yourself here. That is really tough. I would really consider calling in sick/explaining situation and letting work find cover for you if your not feeling up to it.

Sorry if I've missed anyone out- is so much to keep track of!

Boboelephant · 12/06/2018 22:09

@Pampl3m0usse I'm so sorry for your bfn. And everything at work. I hope they sort out your pain asap.
@Pancakes7 glad they got you some antibiotics. Hope it clears up soon.
@ek78 glad you can see the funny side. It's so tough sometimes!
@KnitKitty definitely do whatever feels right to you hun.
Sending 🐧🐧 hugs to everyone who needs them

Boboelephant · 12/06/2018 22:10

@Wescat sorry I missed you! Welcome and I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm shocked you can't have a few days off after your MC. Can someone cover that for you?

Boboelephant · 12/06/2018 22:14

@Jessabean thankyou. I am going to test on Friday as long as my temp stays up. If not, I'll wait until after af- due Sun. Had acupuncture tonight to encourage implantation so fingers crossed! How are you going?

ek78 · 12/06/2018 22:15

@knitknitty what a total headfuck! But yes, do what feels right for you. If that is hanging in a bit and retesting do that.
@passtheaftereights so so sorry to hear this. Hugs to you.

Pancakes7 · 12/06/2018 22:17

Thanks @Jessabean and @Boboelephant Iq am hoping we have conceived and this uti is worth it. I did tell GP we are ttc so got antibiotics safe for baby just in case. I am planning to test 2 weeks after I think I ovulated so around the 22nd/23rd. Fx!

Murderino · 12/06/2018 22:20

@Jessabean not testing til af due on Monday just need to distract myself until then!

Glad we're all on the same page re Facebook- have to say I really hate the whole site now, full of attention seekers. Deleted the app from my phone but keep it active as it's the only way my dad chooses to communicate these days! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Seems like a few people have had a tough few days. If only it was all more straight forward, at least as easy as they make it look in films anyway! ♥️🌈

YellowDaffodils86 · 12/06/2018 22:34

@PassTheAfterEights im so sorry, that really sucks. Iv no idea why this happens. A char with the doctor will hopefully help.

@Wescat welcome and sorry for your loss.
Thats an unfortunate class to have to teach so soon. Like others said, can anyone cover?

@KnitKitty sounds really confusing, iv no advice really, but i do hope it sort itself out soon, im hoping its a little miracle in there! Will you see a doctor?

@ek78 🙊i don't blame you for hiding

@Pampl3m0usse Sorry things are crappy, as if it it all isnt hard enough. I hope the docot sorts things out for you

Boboelephant · 13/06/2018 08:13

Also @zarala just realised I forgot to comment. I laughed alot at zaralaroid 😂😂😂 Hope it doesn't come to that!

HidCat · 13/06/2018 08:14

@Cleozeta BFNs are harder I think because it's just a reminder of what we've lost. For me anyway. I hope you're ok.

@redhead82 glad your boss is so supportive. It really does make a huge difference.

@KnitKitty apparently some women have a natural hcg level as high as 5 so it is possible you have a slightly high natural level. After my MC I was told hospitals go by 25ml pregnancy test and not to rely on the early result ones, hence my scepticism over faint lines in FRERs. I would try not to worry about FRER squinters and only trust blazing lines on them. Having said that, it might be worth a call to the doc to see what they say.

@ek78 oh hun, I hope that doesn't happen too often. I'm at a point now where I can talk to people without problems, and I'm ok with Facebook, but I cry at all sorts on TV!

@Wescat so sorry you find yourself here. I hope your class today is ok for you.

@PassTheAfterEights I'm so sorry. Have you spoken to your gp? Surely they can do something after all this?

Murderino · 13/06/2018 09:07

I'm starting to get wobbles - tomorrow is usually when any pre af spotting would start so I'm nervous every time I go to the toilet 😫 need to pull myself together!

@Boboelephant how was the acupuncture? Do you think it's worthwhile?

zarala · 13/06/2018 09:11

So we managed to JKS for 5 days

But of course on the day where ovulation is imminent my little one wakes up just as we get into bed and she is sick and ends up sleeping with us all night cockblocking any kind of action!
😣
Tried again this morning but she woke up before we could finish 🙄

The trials and tribulations of TTC with a toddler....

I feel like tonight will be too late- my CM is already creamy not egg white ish so I think that signals game over?? Not sure- I'm just hoping we've done enough in the run up... 🤞🏽
I'm also testing on 23rd @Pancakes7 ! 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

I've just taken my first dose of the steroids - trying not to read too much about the risks and side effects and just hope this works!

Hugs to everyone who needs it

sweetpea0318 · 13/06/2018 09:13

@murderino - right there with you! I'm 12dpo & feeling on edge waiting to see if af shows. Keep poking my boobs as well to see if they're still sore! 🤞🤞🤞

Murderino · 13/06/2018 09:25

@sweetpea0318 haha me too, they're definitely less tender but I need to remind myself when I was pregnant it wasn't until after missed af that I really noticed any difference at all!

Anyday88 · 13/06/2018 10:02

This thread moves so fast I can't keep up.

@knitkitty so confusing, I don't have any advise other than maybe try gp or epu?

@boboelephant how are you feeling? When is test day?

@PassTheAfterEights I am so sorry for what you are going through at the moment. Is it worth a call to the gp for some advice about next steps maybe?

Hope those in the tww are doing ok and not driving yourselves too mad, I ALWAYS do!

Those that haven't got the outcome they wanted this month 🤞🏻 For July!

I am struggling at the moment, I think AF has just knocked it out of me as brought back my feelings when I mc! Really unhappy in my job and I'm off sick at the moment, I have attempted to go back twice without success 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyway can anyone give me advice on opks? I vaguely remember using the clearblue ones with my other dc. I've just been looking is 10 tests enough for a month?

Sorry for not replying to everyone but really hope you are all doing ok.

sweetpea0318 · 13/06/2018 10:46

@anyday88 sorry to hear you're struggling. Sending you lots of virtual hugs.

Re. opks - I think 10 is fine. From memory the CB ones tell you to start testing around day 10 depending on your cycle length so 10 would normally be fine if you ovulate around a week after starting them. I also have a big bag of Internet cheapies from eBay so I always know I've got more than enough to keep me going (I tend to use 2-3 or these each day).

TedLife · 13/06/2018 11:11

On opks - how can anyone not take a drink for 4 hours? I'm seriously baffled, not to mention with all the JKS we're all doing, surely we should be drinking lots of water to prevent UTIs?!!

Silly things, the blank circle is annoying me today too. Today is my predicted day of ov according to flo, lots of cm too. They are just not my friends...

zarala · 13/06/2018 11:23

@TedLife are you sure no drink for 4 hours?
I thought it was no pee in 4 hours? So just hold in the pee....but I could have been doing it all wrong ?

TedLife · 13/06/2018 11:31

@zarala I thought it was no drink to stop the pee getting diluted? Lol maybe i'm doing it wrong?!!

Laney79 · 13/06/2018 11:33

@TedLife @zarala I thought opks (CB) said not to pee for 4 hours and I don't remember if it was CB or ic instructions said avoid drinking two hours before testing?

I had a blank circle on CB opk first thing in the morning-but 8 hours later had a strong positive on an ic. Following day (fmu) smiley face and and another very strong ic positive...so you may still get a positive later today I guess?

TedLife · 13/06/2018 11:44

@Laney79, @zarala - well now I feel a bit foolish...will cross my legs and hope for the best Blush

Boboelephant · 13/06/2018 11:55

@Murderino and @sweetpea0318 I'm also feeling very wobbly. This is the most hopeful that I've felt which is saying something as I get hopeful every month and have been trying for ages so very scary! Hope af stays away for both of you. I get no warning of af so it's always a let down when full flow begins. My boobs haven't been sore this month and usually ache so no sign there either.
I really like acupuncture. Obviously not pregnant yet so hasn't been a quick fix for me but I find it relaxing which is good. She focused on my energy last night and then today we did some reiki at work and the master said I was buzzing with energy so who knows!?
@zarala haha! I know that story!! Putting Moana on helps alot!! 😂
I'm rushing into something so will catch up on all others later x

Boboelephant · 13/06/2018 12:05

Ooh have a few more min actually.
@Anyday88 sending hugs. I'm ok. Pretty terrified! I think test on Friday unless I get too nervous or temp drops! Af due Sun.
I agree on opks. 10 cbs would be fine. Start testing a few days before you expect to ov. Instructions tell you when to start depending on your cycle length. With CBs you use fmu so shouldn't have to hold wee. With ICs they say not to use fmu so I try and hold for as long as possible. Usually 2.5-3 hours and this is always enough. I still drink water! 😀

RedRobin7 · 13/06/2018 12:34

@Boboelephant I forgot how painfully slow the TWW goes. Hope you can test on Friday and have everything crossed for you!

I'm feeling sick today but I still have a week until my period is due to can't be pregnancy related 🙄
