@cupcakesandglitter whereabouts in the Midlands are you? My parents moved up there around 10years ago so visit fairly regularly!

NeverHadANickname · 11/06/2018 22:10

@NoseringGirl I was even closer a couple of days last week, had to be in Newcastle last Tuesday and Friday

gizmosslave · 11/06/2018 22:16

Hi can I join?

We are waiting for my periods to return after the injection to start ttc number 2.

How’s everyone today?xx

cupcakesandglitter · 11/06/2018 22:54

@dottydally I travel a bit too tbf - I'm actually in London in a couple of weeks for work!

@Jxtina86 Birmingham :)

@gizmosslave hi! We're all currently discussing where we're based 😂 are you going to start as soon as you can? X

OP posts:
gizmosslave · 11/06/2018 22:57

Hi! I’m Swindon!

Yes Asap, call us crazy but we have a 9 month old already, who co sleeps so that will be interesting Hmm

mussie · 12/06/2018 07:02

@gizmosslave that must be difficult, to not have a date in mind but just be waiting on your body! Hopefully AF doesn't keep you waiting too long.

Anyone in central belt of Scotland?!

dottydally · 12/06/2018 07:21

Welcome @gizmosslave! We are all familiar with the wait for AF so will get you through it! Wine

I feel like I'm really struggling with waiting at the minute. It should be fine, things are so busy I should be too distracted to worry, but it's taking over my mind? Can't remember to pay the sodding water bill yet I've played me getting my BFP in my head 100 times over!! Hmm

On the plus side, I feel like our relationship has gotten even stronger since we decided we wanted to ttc, like I love him in a different way. All a bit soppy for this early in the morning I know!

Also been a complete wally and accidentally hid this thread so I have to search for it every time Sad I did 'report' it to MNHQ to see if they could help but I think I might just have to wait for it to come back.

Ells0204 · 12/06/2018 07:24

@NeverHadANickname @dottydally @cupcakesandglitter

Thanks for that! Yes makes sense now they do have a company handbook on the intranet so I’m sure I’ll be able to access it once I start!

I’m from SW London btw!

cupcakesandglitter · 12/06/2018 08:20

@dottydally May be a little sappy but I know what you mean 😂 I now love him as the father of my kids too (even though we aren't even TTC yet 😂😂)

OP posts:
AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 12/06/2018 08:56

@dottydally, I understand what you mean. I feel like we're working towards something together and I think the thought of having a little someone who is a mixture of just the two of us makes me all gushy.

I'm also considering bringing forwards TTC by a couple of months. I say I'm considering because OH has said he's ready whenever I am. We get married at the end of October and have our Honeymoon straight afterwards. My hen do is also in the middle of September. I'm considering bringing TTC forward from the end of October/November to September. My thinking is that it's likely not to happen the first few cycles anyway but if it does it'll be another couple of months with our child. On the other hand, I'm torn because I think it's only another couple of months to wait which mean that I can enjoy my Hen Do, Wedding and Honeymoon without any morning sickness and with a cocktail in hand. I'm also worried in case the worst happens and I miscarry whilst on Honeymoon. (First pregnancy and no history of this happening mind you.)
The closer it gets, the less willpower I have.

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 12/06/2018 09:08

Actually, it's not even willpower that I'm lacking. My excitement is just bubbling over!

Blondemother · 12/06/2018 10:20

Morning! Can I join you guys?!
Waiting till September to ttc #2 so we have enough money saved for me to take mat leave and not have to live on beans on toast for months.

Whiling away the wait with pregnancy unfriendly treats - wine, Brie, rare steak and super hot baths!

When I was pregnant before I met lots of lovely mums to be through NCT yoga and ‘bump and baby’ coffee mornings. Found once I had a baby I saw the same faces at various groups and it was fairly easy to make friends.

Who has the shortest time to wait now?!

cupcakesandglitter · 12/06/2018 10:38

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever awww! It's so difficult isn't it!! A couple of months will go by so fast but then I see what you mean about being two months pregnant!

happytobemrsg · 12/06/2018 10:39

Glad to see this thread still going strong! Hope it's ok if I still pop in? We have decided to ttc in the new year

Summerbab · 12/06/2018 11:16

@jxtina86 I’m finding Flo really good and yes everything’s free. Let’s hope after coming off the pill it’s predicting my ovulation correctly - I’ll let you know :)

dottydally · 12/06/2018 12:14

@Ells0204 yay! I'm pleased there are some SE people on here. I think I still have the longest wait though

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever @cupcakesandglitter I also love that we have it as our little secret! I am almost looking forward to the first 12 weeks where it's just us that know. Though I'll probably end up telling my Mum!

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever I think I would be inclined to wait so I don't risk feeling poorly for the wedding/honeymoon! I would also want to have a glass of champers!

Welcome @Blondemother!

@happytobemrsg Of course you are always welcome! We are planning to ttc in the new year as well so that will make two of us Smile

NeverHadANickname · 12/06/2018 12:26

Just to be nosey, what are other people's reasons for waiting? Better timing, money, I know some people have mentioned work? I'm sure it's all been discussed on the last thread but I couldn't find it to read.

mussie · 12/06/2018 13:44

@NeverHadANickname it's money for me. Had to spend long enough in my new job to qualify for OMP

Summerbab · 12/06/2018 13:45

@neverhadanickname I’ve been ready for a baby for years but we had agreed this year as a compromise as the other half would’ve waited til we’re 30. Although he has been specific down to the month and I think that’s more mental preparation than anything haha. What about you?

NeverHadANickname · 12/06/2018 13:50

It is not money for us although that is a worry as I won't get SMP in the US.

I have also been ready for a long time. I waited for years for my ex husband to be ready but it never happened, felt like a massive waste of time when it ended. My fiancé is older than me and already has older kids but it was a conversation we had early on, having a baby was a non negotiable for me and he decided it was what he wanted to. We are just waiting for me to move over and get married (hopefully quickly after I move) so just waiting on the visa process. Will hopefully be by November (or earlier) that we start trying.

cupcakesandglitter · 12/06/2018 16:53

@NeverHadANickname same as Mussie for me - need to have worked long enough to qualify for mat pay!

I'm glad it's worked out for you and you've found someone on the same page! X

OP posts:
dottydally · 12/06/2018 17:13

@NeverHadANickname your ex sounds rubbish but so happy you've found someone lovely!

Work related for me but nothing to do with maternity pay (I'll get enhanced pay in any case). I'm going for a promotion which will be announced in December, effective 1st January. I want to give it my full focus until then. I had thought I'd wait til June next year to give me 6 months in the job before we even started to try but now think we might just 'not be careful' after January. It is important to me to get it but I wouldn't delay ttc if I didn't get it this year. Giving it my all though!

Jxtina86 · 12/06/2018 17:18

@NeverHadANickname we've only just bought a house so we wanted to wait a few months to settle in before TTC. We've been talking about it for a while - my husband is keen to have kids before he's 40 (he's 34) and he has been loosing weight over the last year in preparation (I'm beyond proud of what he's acheived and get quite emotional about it as its so he can be healthy and fit enough to be an active dad and keep up with any potential kids) We originally said Aug/Sep as that's when my pill prescription ran out but as of last Sunday we've agreed to start next month after my next packet ends...!

Pinkroseuk · 12/06/2018 17:38

@cupcakesandglitter I'm kind of midlands too- Worcester so not too far away :)

NeverHadANickname · 12/06/2018 18:07

Good luck @dottydally I hope you get it.

That's exciting @Jxtina86 I was excited when I stopped my pill even though there is currently no way he can currently impregnate me 😂
