Hello again! Hopefully I've remembered everyone - apologies if I haven't, get tagging!

Thanks all, it’s good to hear I'm not the only one 🙈

@Roller, good luck and hopefully AF will stay away! And yes, the TWW is the worst! Have you come up with any good distraction techniques I can steal?! Wink

@Nosering, you’re only one cycle behind me then! How’re you feeling about it all?

@Pasta, don’t be too jealous, you’ll be obsessively POASing and symptom-spotting too before long!

PastaSauceHoarder · 25/08/2018 18:36

Urgh, ladies I'm so annoyed. I'm apparently in my fertile week yet I've had seven negative OPK strips in a row, one for every day of the bloody week - am I just not ovulating?? I got a lovely clear positive last month but now I can't get more than a faint line! Anyone else had this or is it just me? 🙄

rollerskaterdata · 25/08/2018 23:08

@BusyBee27 I was going to ask you the same thing! No tips here...I'm going out of my mind 🙄

@PastaSauceHoarder ahh that's annoying! I've never used OPKs but plan to from next month if I'm not preg this month. Apparently negative strips can indicate an anovulatory cycle? I don't know if that's always the case though, hopefully someone else more knowledgable can shed some more light x

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 26/08/2018 09:20

Thanks everyone. You're all too kind! 😊

BusyBee27 · 26/08/2018 10:27

@roller, damn! The only technique I’ve come up is to keep busy - the minute I sit down, I start thinking about the fact that I’m Xdpo! 🙈😂

@pasta, I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve found OPKs a bit unreliable - I’ve actually started charting this month in the hope that would help and it has, so I’d recommend it! But keep using the OPKs too, as ovulation can arrive later due to stress or just happen later for no reason at all some months. And as @roller said, you might not ovulate at all some months, but it’s nothing to worry about I don’t think, as I’m sure I read somewhere that it happens to every woman now and then. Hope that helps!

RandomUsernameHere · 26/08/2018 10:31

Hi Ladies hope everyone is having a good weekend! I've finished my last pill packet and on my withdrawal bleed at the moment, so I guess very soon we'll be officially TTC! Did anyone else get a bit nervous when it finally came round to it?! I'm excited but also scared it won't happen...

cupcakesandglitter · 26/08/2018 10:49

@RandomUsernameHere omg!! Yay! Yes of course - in fact, I'm still nervous 😂😂 it's a big thing. The TWW brings hell to every woman, it's too nerve wracking 😂

But, enjoy it, enjoy DTD with DH and make sure you look after yourself too! Will you be temping or using OPKs? X

RandomUsernameHere · 26/08/2018 10:57

Thanks @cupcakesandglitter !!
I'm not planning to use OPKs or temping to begin with but maybe further down the line if nothing happens. Fingers crossed for us all!!x

PastaSauceHoarder · 26/08/2018 14:33

Thanks @BusyBee27 and @rollerskaterdata, I was googling like crazy and getting myself in a right silly tizz - then tested this afternoon and the line is significantly darker now. Grin Still not a positive but last month my tests gradually got darker before I ovulated so I'm hoping the same is going to happen again. I suppose patience just isn't one of my strong points!!

Ooh how exciting @RandomUsernameHere, best of luck! Smile

And how are you, @cupcakesandglitter? I hope AF isn't being too hard on you!!

Pinkroseuk · 26/08/2018 16:12

How is everyone getting on?
We had a horrible day yesterday at my inlaws so had the day in today to recover and AF has decided to show up- maybe a day or two earlier that I though after taking the pills but happy it's here finally after being late for 89 days!

Pouring with rain here all day so we have lit the fire! Hope everyone is having a good weekend :)

PastaSauceHoarder · 26/08/2018 17:19

Oh dear @Pinkroseuk, what happened with your in laws? Sad I hope you've been having a nice relaxing day today, glad to hear AF has finally arrived! 🎉

RandomUsernameHere · 26/08/2018 17:24

Thanks @PastaSauceHoarder and same to you! Smile

@Pinkroseuk glad AF finally arrived! It is horrible and windy here today, where has summer gone?! x

Pinkroseuk · 26/08/2018 17:24

@PastaSauceHoarder mother in law had been talking to her daughter (my SIL) about DH diabetes and they had both decided he wasn't doing enough exercise and it was because my legs are short and I'm overweight so I slow him down! (His diabetes is well under control and the hospital have never seen someone be on top of it as well as him so quickly after diagnosis)
Unfortunately SIL who apparently is so very concerned about him has not contacted him for nearly 3 years apart from two family meet ups in that time- she has also passed on the message via BIL that she doesn't wish to see us so it's all a bit strange! When we finally got home DH burst into tears as she had been on all day at him and just couldn't cope anymore!!
Nothing like a bit of family drama!
Yes thanks today is much better xx

Pinkroseuk · 26/08/2018 17:27

@RandomUsernameHere it's definitely left us here! I have heard first week of September is meant to be quite hot again (about 25 -27 degrees) which it does tend to do when the kids go back :)

dottydally · 26/08/2018 21:28

Has anyone started a new thread? If not, I will do the honours!

Pinkroseuk · 26/08/2018 21:42

I haven't seen one yet @dottydally :)

PastaSauceHoarder · 26/08/2018 22:34

I haven't seen one @dottydally, it would be great if you made one though! Smile

Bloody hell @Pinkroseuk, your MIL and SIL sound like right interfering so-and-so's! Hmm I hope your husband is feeling alright now, what a ridiculous thing to say about his diabetes (and about you slowing him down - how silly!). No wonder you needed a chill out day today, I hope you've both enjoyed it.

AngeloMysterioso · 26/08/2018 22:41

Well I've had a hefty setback this week- a recent blood test suggests that I have subclinical hypothyroidism- for TTC my TSH level should be below 2.5 as there's an increased risk of miscarriage and developmental problems if it's higher than that, and atm it's 7.77. My GP said to have a second test done in 6 weeks (Shock) and he's going to speak to an endocrinologist, and then we'll look at putting me on medication to bring my levels down and once they're at an acceptable level, then we can start TTC.

I'm absolutely gutted. I had been hoping to start TTC on my next cycle and be pregnant by Christmas, at this rate I won't even have started by then. It doesn't help that we spent all day yesterday with our friends and their new baby, and I've been looking at maternity clothes online. I haven't been able to bring myself to tell DH yet, he's been so excited about it.

cupcakesandglitter · 26/08/2018 22:49

PastaSauceHoarder · 26/08/2018 23:05

Ooh that does look like a lovely group @cupcakesandglitter, but I'm actually TTC my second baby. Blush
And I'm not actually officially TTC yet, so I don't think I qualify...

Oh @AngeloMysterioso, I'm so sorry to hear that, how disappointing for you. Sad When will you tell your husband?

cupcakesandglitter · 26/08/2018 23:06

@PastaSauceHoarder don't be silly, it doesn't matter! Please join, we all still want to follow your journey too :) everyone is welcome x

OP posts:
AngeloMysterioso · 26/08/2018 23:26

@PastaSauceHoarder it'll have to be soon as we've been tracking my cycle together, so he knows when my fertile week is meant to start.

Goostacean · 27/08/2018 01:50

I’m not sure I can handle joining those actively TTC for a full 12 months...! 😂 Should we get another “waiting TTC” thread going in tandem...?!

rollerskaterdata · 27/08/2018 07:58

@Goostacean I like that idea! Another waiting thread, and maybe a general grads thread for those now trying? I'm also TTC #2 so don't qualify for the other one 😂 and if we have a grads thread no matter what baby you're on everyone can join! I'm happy to set one up?
