@soozc congratulations that is great news. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well. Definite boost I feel similar at the mo mc is cruel and loads of people say you are more fertile after then it doesn't happen straight away so you think there is something wrong why doesn't it happen. Positivity is difficult to come by some days. Thankfully today is a good day

Russkispy · 12/08/2018 11:15

Congratulations @SoozC ! Brilliant news! Hope it goes well till the end!
As for the rest of us especially after MC, t will happen to us too! I'm absolutely sure!

PixieN · 12/08/2018 12:02

Brilliant news @SoozC Congratulations! It must feel like such a relief & lovely to know the sex so you can prepare. Definitely gives hope to the rest of us ttc. x

Darkstar4855 · 12/08/2018 13:02

Congratulations @SoozC, fab news!

Oxted2018 · 13/08/2018 14:08

Congratulations @SoozC - that is lovely news! It must make it all a bit more real finding out the sex. Fingers crossed you can relax a bit now and start to enjoy it x

No news here. AF was an annoying 4 days late last month - it is never that late! Just as I was starting to convince myself that this could be it, she showed up in all her glory.... So onto another month. Think ov is in the next day or so.....

@chelonia - I have also had the panic about short luteal phases!! It's nice having an extra thing to stress about :-D I don't ovulate until day 20 and then seem to have a luteal phase of between 8 -11days and so have also been taking vitamin b6 for the last couple of months. Am now thinking this may be the reason for late AF.... Which is good in one way as it means it might be working but means I don't really know when AF is due....

Blueberry1 · 13/08/2018 14:55

Great news @SoozC. Onwards & upwards.

@Chelonia - I have a longer cycle (typically 29-31 days) & my luteal phase was 11 or 12 days. Was told this wasn't important.

@Oxted2018 - my AF was bona fide late (3-4 days) when TTC, but always false alarm until little Blueberry came to fruition (via IVF if you didn't know) and that time I was convinced it was another false alarm & only did test to put myself out of my misery Shock!

Took little Blueberry for some jabs this morning. He was asleep in his pushchair & I had to wake him so nurse could stick a needle in his thigh. He wasn't too impressed & screamed his way round the supermarket afterwards Sad. He's OK now though.

Oxted2018 · 13/08/2018 17:24

@Blueberry1 - Can't say I blame him. I'm not a fan of being woken up but being woken up for a jab makes for a bad day! Glad all is well with you.

@Melamine - Did AF come? I'm hoping you are silent in wonder at a BFP xx

Melamine · 14/08/2018 17:41

Hey @Oxted2018, sadly it turned up exactly on time and I’m just bitterly silent with disappointment. I have a stock of CB digital OPKs to crack open in a couple of days. It’ll be my 5th cycle post MC.

Such wonderful news @SoozC - I am so pleased for you! And I hope the rest of you are doing ok! ❤️

Oxted2018 · 15/08/2018 12:40

Oh no @Melamine - am sorry to hear that. Had my fingers crossed for you

I was supposed to ov yesterday but still just getting flashing smiley faces on the Clearblue OPKs. Hopefully I will get my fixed smiley soon as I think DH is exhausted! He was full of gusto at the weekend but that has now faded!! :-D

TheNewbieStep · 17/08/2018 13:33

@Melamine
So sorry to hear that babe. Your body may still be recovering from the MC, sometimes up to 6 months for things to get back to normal. Be brave lovely.. it will happen!

(I'm 9 months since MC) xxxx

Blondcat · 17/08/2018 13:45

@melamine I am joining you af showed up yesterday so onto cycle 5 post mc too.

@oxted2018 hope you have now ovulated and you can take a breather for a bit.

Russkispy · 17/08/2018 14:55

@Blondcat and @Melamine , sorry about AF turning up! Hard, I know. But try to stay positive! No news to report here

Chelonia · 19/08/2018 01:56

Bah, I was just about to buy one of the CB ov monitors but after doing some online digging it appears they can only be used with the 10 test strips that come with the reader and you can't buy new test strips separately? IE you have to buy another expensive bit of plastic every month?? @Melamine and @Oxted2018 can you confirm? Think I'll stick with temping! Storms off in a huffAngry

TheNewbieStep · 19/08/2018 11:59

I can buy sticks for my CB monitor in boots... bit pricey. X

Melamine · 19/08/2018 12:52

Middle fingers to everyone’s AF 🖕 and @Blondcat fingers crossed it’s 5th time lucky for us both!

@chelonia i bought the 20 pack from Amazon & I’m on my fourth stick and 3rd flashing smiley so far. I reckon I’m probably about average on ov timing given when I conceived last time vs when we shagged so I reckon I’ll only use a max 7 of them so that’s almost 3 cycles worth in one pack. So not inexpensive but worth it for me!

Albeit temping is meant to be far more accurate. I was considering one of those Ava bracelet things, they’re expensive but seem to sell second hand on eBay for not far off their original price!

Oxted2018 · 19/08/2018 17:19

I’m on day 8 of flashing faces on the CB opks! I’m normally a regular day 20 ovulator so don’t know what is going on. Think will have to give up on this month - I can’t keep peeing on sticks!!

@chelonia, I don’t have the fertility monitor but do use the clear blue opks. Each box comes with the reader and either 10 or 20 testing sticks but you’re right - it’s not possible to just buy the sticks and so it does get expensive quickly. Especially this month! Although, when it does work, the smiley faces are very reassuring.

@melamine and @blondcat - sorry that AF has turned up. Fingers crossed for Sept. @melamine, I am also seriously thinking about the Ava bracelet. I did track BBT for a while before starting to TTC so I knew what my cycles were doing and I found it pretty accurate but just too hard to maintain with taking my temperature first thing.

Oxted2018 · 20/08/2018 08:43

I am in such a mood with my body! AF turned up today - between 5-7 days early depending on which app I look at!! It was a week late last month and now I'm wondering if that was in fact a cp and has now thrown everything out of whack....

@melamine - I have ordered the ava bracelet! Spur of the moment stroppy order on the train to work Grin

Blueberry1 · 20/08/2018 09:04

The CB dual indicator OPKs are expensive & it's annoying that you have to buy a new reader each time. You can use sticks from another pack with a reader.

However, they are highly reliable. Clinic had me use them (& nothing else) for timing natural cycle (frozen) embryo transfer. Consultant also said temping not that reliable.

TheNewbieStep · 20/08/2018 09:50

I have also been told by gyne consultant that temping is very unreliable. Also tells me to stop OPKs and rely on 'egg-white' test x

Oxted2018 · 20/08/2018 11:35

Oh balls!! Oh well, I shall have a new expensive toy if nothing else!! But hopefully it will be useful.

How is everyone else? x
