Funnily I’m trying to eat less meat! I’m also drinking less as I’m paranoid that may have contributed to my MMC in April. Probably not though - I think nearly every friend with kids has an ‘I only realised I was pregnant after my hangover wouldn’t go away’ story.

Enjoy holidays, wine & shagging for fun!

I’m 4 days into the 2WW. Longggg

PixieN · 05/08/2018 11:33

Af arrived a day early for me Sad

How is everyone else doing?

Blondcat · 05/08/2018 11:49

@pixieN sorry af got you and a day early Sadx

I am in the tww struggling with thrush and it is my birthday so happy birthday me have some itchy bits Blush.

79andnotout · 05/08/2018 17:25

Happy birthday @Blondcat, that doesn't sound fun!
Although I'm not much better, I'm in the USA and the bad food has already given me piles.

Sorry for the AF @PixieN.

PixieN · 05/08/2018 17:42

Happy birthday @Blondcat & sorry to hear your woes - thrush is miserable. Hope you’re doing something lovely to celebrate 🎉

Sorry to hear things aren’t great for you either @79andnotout Sad

I’ve just got back from a week away where I indulged far too much so I’m dreading stepping on the scales. I was very restrained with alcohol though so extra annoyed that af arrived early. Oh well.

Blondcat · 05/08/2018 17:50

@79andnotout that doesn't sound fun either! I'm not too bad just fed up as can't take the oral tablet which gets rid of it fastest because of ttc so got to wait until tonight for the pessary been using cream to help a bit in the meantime.

I have had a relaxing morning other than popping to pharmacy then out for lovely lunch and dh cooked me lovely dinner so not too bad otherwise.

PixieN · 06/08/2018 07:34

That sounds lovely @Blondcat

Hope it clears up soon. I used to get recurring attacks so it became my nemesis for a while!

Chelonia · 06/08/2018 11:51

Oh Happy Birthday @Blondcat and sorry about the itchy bits!! It's crazy how utterly miserable it can make you feel, lots of sympathy!! But the rest of your day sounded very nice Flowers
@79andnotout here's hoping your trip is short - never been to the States but don't hear a lot to recommend it, especially in regards to the food / orange dictators.

Am feeling really fed up today, mostly because I think I'm stuffing up my timings. As I previously said, I'm not getting good results on cheapie OPKs so on advice (Thanks @79andnotout) I ordered a thermometer and started temping. But apparently I'm too dysfunctional to manage to do that correctly! I'm a fitful sleeper and often wake 2-3 times in the night, often to pee. Had thought I'd take temps at about 630 but have ended up doing it at whatever time I wake in case I don't have the recommended 3hrs sleep left (which to be honest given I never turn on a light to go to loo therefore don't look at watch means it could be anywhere between 2 and 6am! ) and I don't look at thermometer at the time and rely on memory function to record it...
Anyway the upshot is that I'm getting slightly erratic readings but if I ovulated based on higher temps it was probably about CD20 and I think we last DTD about day 15. And I know sperm can live for several days inside you but am pretty sure that's virile horny teenager sperm not very overweight 43 year old sperm Wink
DP went away for work CD17 and because I'm feeling down I had a go at him on the phone tonight because the whole conversation felt like very hard work so I told him I was sick of having to be the one who racks their brains for topics of conversation FFS. Probably didn't help if had today off and mostly just sat on my arse all day and haven't done anything to make me feel like a worthy, functional human being. I also recognise that I'm being self-indulgent and whiny given we've only been trying "properly" for a few months and I know lots of people here have been on much longer journeys than us without luck and I never want anyone to think I'm comparing my frustrations to the level of some of yours. Just having a little wallow in the self-pity mudhole today. Also promised myself I wasn't going to spend all day staring at my phone tomorrow so just getting this post in now. I really hope you all have really cracking weeks, successful, entertaining and refreshing. We all deserve it!! FlowersCake

TheNewbieStep · 06/08/2018 13:49

Happy Birthday @Blondcat - sorry about the bits!

TheNewbieStep · 06/08/2018 13:55

@Chelonia

You wallow away kiddo! We have all been there, this baby making is exhausting- mentally rather than physically.

Me and OH have never argued - I few grumpy Fines and forget-about-it's..... util ttc. When mostly I want to scream at him. I think he also thinks as he has 2 kids that his swimmers are Olympians. He is 46. Hahahah! And he was told the swimmers were 👌🏻 there wasn't as many as there could be... x

Melamine · 06/08/2018 13:56

Happy birthday @Blondcat, sending you cooling, itch-free vibes!!

Im struggling this month, keep having pregnancy announcements sprung on me, I’ve been suffering every symptom under the sun this month (womb twinges, back ache, cramps, even had the shits which I never have, so convinced myself was caused by implantation) but stupidly did a test yesterday which was the whitest of white negative. Period due Wednesday so I guess I’m not totally out yet but if any of those symptoms were caused by conception then it would show on a test!

Blueberry1 · 06/08/2018 14:26

Hi everyone, long time no "see". Happy birthday @blondcat, sorry about the thrush; very irritating (literally!).

I would also recommend clearblue dual indicator OPKs @chelonia; they never failed me, although I ovulate reliably & never tried cheapie ones..

Sorry about AF @PixieN. Always shows up at wrong time eh?

As for me, little Blueberry is now 3 months old & a healthy little chap. I'm still breastfeeding although it's still hard work. After being awake all morning (!), he finally went to sleep on the way back from the supermarket. Luckily, DP has magic ability to carry baby upstairs (we live on 2nd floor w/o lift) in pushchair without waking him.

Blondcat · 06/08/2018 16:27

@chelonia sorry you are struggling today. I don't temp for the same reason peanut bladder means I have to get up and pee at least once a night so couldn't rely on the results. Opks just feel like a bit too much pressure so just trying to dtd regularly but I have heard very positive things about the clear blue ones that have the smiling faces so they would probably be the ones I would use if I was going to.

@melamine hate that our bodies trick us by giving similar symptoms for af and pregnancy just seems cruel. Fx you are just too early though xx

@blueberry1 good to hear from you and glad baby blueberry is doing well. It is great getting updates on how you are doing.

Melamine · 06/08/2018 16:43

@chelonia I’ll join you in the wallow - going to buy clear blue dual digi OPK next month. As really, I’ve no idea if I’m even ovulating, let alone when!

Chelonia · 06/08/2018 20:55

Aw thank you ladies it's so nice to know you feel the same way (and that we're all going to spend a load of money on a fancy pee-stick together!) I just want to know I AM definitely ovulating for a start!
Onwards and upwards!! Xx

PixieN · 06/08/2018 21:39

Lovely to hear from you @Blueberry1 - glad to hear that little Blueberry is doing so well too! Your DP sounds brilliant with him Smile
Wonder how @Janefx40 and @Soozc are getting on too. Hope all is progressing well with your pregnancies ladies x

I think you need to wallow sometimes @Chelonia - TTC is so stressful. I’m trying to relax, but it is disappointing when AF arrives yet again. I’ve used Opks a few times, but like Blondcat says, it feels like extra pressure and it’s all so expensive too Confused

SoozC · 07/08/2018 16:56

Ah, Pixie, I am doing well, thank you! Nearly 20 weeks and we hope to find out on Thursday the sex! I've been having some kicking and wriggling which is lovely but I am still a bit anxious they'll find something wrong at the scan, so just trying to stay relaxed about it. Plus, I'm finding it hard to sleep due to painful hips which is making me generally lethargic. I'm trying not to complain too much, though; it's taken long enough to get to this point so I try to enjoy it as much as I can!

I hope you had a good birthday, Blondcat, despite the thrush. It was my birthday on Sunday too! (37 years young!)

Blueberry, I can't believe your son is 3 months! Time goes so fast sometimes! I'm glad he's doing well x

Re. temping: I always go for a wee in the night, sometimes at about 4am, and I'd temp at about 6:45am and always got a sensible reading. I liked temping because it really clearly confirmed ov. I can recommend using a good bbt thermometer and doing it vaginally. Just my opinion!

Sending lots of luck to you all.

@soozc glad to hear everything is going well for you and goodluck with your scan. Let us know what you are expecting. Hope you had a good birthday. I was also 37!

Blondcat · 07/08/2018 17:28

That should say now am 37 I guess eeek

PixieN · 07/08/2018 18:19

@SoozC glad you’re doing well - time really does fly - and happy belated birthday too! Best of luck with the scan. So exciting that you get to find out the sex. Any inklings or thoughts? You’ll have to let us know how it goes x

Chelonia · 11/08/2018 11:13

Hi all, how is everyone getting on? @PixieN I think I've almost joined you in getting AF one day early! Had a bit of brown mucous this evening and tomorrow is CD27 :( (Sorry TMI / Tangent question: WHEN do you call it "Day 1" of your period? First brownish hint? Definite bleeding? It's sometimes a bit hard to call it isn't it?)
Anyway, with that in mind I've discovered a new thing to obsess over - Short luteal phases!! Yay!! Was looking at my (not too bad) temp recording chart and decided i ovulate on C17. I have 28 day cycles NORMALLY!! So 11 day luteal phase? Promptly decided I'd start taking 50mcg B6. Promptly discovered I already was, in another supplement. Started to think maybe we were actually in with a chance this cycle. Got the brown stuff. All within about 12 hours. Amazing. What did I do with all my emotions before TTC??
So I guess I'll just go back to believing in implantation bleeding for a couple of days Grin

Blondcat · 11/08/2018 11:27

@chelonia I count cd1 as the first day of proper bleeding. I think they say 9 days is the shortest to possible so 11 should be fine.
I am currently in the tww af is due Tuesday but after last month not going to say I am late until next weekend. Think cycles can be a bit unpredictable for 6 months after mc so could still be a couple of months of messing about for me. Also after not dtd much this month and thrush it will be a massive shock if I have caught this month.

Hope everyone else is doing ok this weekend x

PixieN · 11/08/2018 15:27

I don’t normally spot before my period as it just seems to start in full flow, but the end of AF is a different matter which makes it tricky to record. I don’t normally count spotting so hope that’s o.k. Weirdly, I finished 3 days ago and just had some brown mucus (again tmi!) when I wiped. Probably just old blood, but it’s a bit freaky. I ended up going to the Drs last week & they booked me in for a blood test to check progesterone levels so that feels like a step forwards.

Good luck for this month ladies. Hope you’re all enjoying the weekend x

SoozC · 12/08/2018 08:43

We found out we're having a boy! All looks good with him but they are going to monitor me in case I develop pre-eclampsia. I am beyond relieved he's alive and well; after my mc I never thought I'd get this far!

@SoozC that's such wonderful news and a proper morale boost for those of us feeling defeated today! Congratulations!!
