We maxed out our last thread, so I've started another one for us!

Welcome, all those over 35 who are ttc number 1! Whether you're just starting out or you're an old-timer, come and chat with others who know what it's like to feel as though time is not on your side. When you feel like all your friends and family your age already have children and you need someone to moan to, we are here!

Ah, good to hear it @Blueberry1. That sounds like an ideal feeding situation too, as your OH can help out. Lots of my friends struggled with the formula/breast combo wrt milk supply so glad it's worked for you!

Also agree with you regarding plastics, supplements, and cutting things out (although I am also a scientist so a sceptic of anything until proven). Just eating a healthy diet and not going overboard on the caffeine and drinking, and getting plenty of exercise is a good path to follow anyway.

Having said that I found drinking grapefruit juice massively increased my cervical mucus production, and I can find no scientific basis for that anywhere...

Janefx40 · 21/06/2018 15:17

Hi @79andnotout it's so lovely to hear from you. I'm not on this group much any more but it looks as tho you have seen where I'm up to anyway!

I'm so glad things are looking better with your OH and that you are happier. That is great news. The main thing is that you are happier.

Sorry to hear about the cervix thing although it is good you found out. It'll be interesting to know how they fix it. I'm afraid I've not heard of this before.

@Blueberry1 glad BF has improved. You are very good for sticking at it!! You sound happy tho!

I'm ok. Yes much less anxious although still nervous about miscarrying or problems occurring. I am 10 weeks today and we have our Harmony tonight so an anxious wait for results. Then 12 week scan is 5th July. Praying we get that far

Hello to everyone else - I also read It starts with an Egg. I thought it was useful. We did cut down chemicals and plastics a bit but not religiously. We bought natural soaps and shampoos and I even gave up antiperspirant for a bit!!! But that didn't have very positive results so I gave up on that one.

@Blueberry1 is right - not worth driving yourself nuts over it. I do think the Ubiquinol is good tho

Xxx

79andnotout · 21/06/2018 16:24

@Janefx40 argh yes it's going to be a tense couple of weeks, but hopefully then you can relax! How long does it take for the harmony results? Are you finding out the sex at the same time? Exciting!

Yep I will let you know what the consultant says. Worst case scenario seems to be uterine cancer but I don't fit the demographic for that at all so I'm not worried. I'm sure it has an impact on fertility though, both naturally and ivf if you struggle to get the tubes in. Again, not worrying about that until I know more.

Anyway, good luck this evening!

Blueberry1 · 21/06/2018 16:33

@79andnotout -glad things are getting back on track with OH. Never heard of sealed cervix except during pregnancy.

@janefx40 - so happy you've got this far. Hope Harmony goes well. We got our results in 5 days.

Janefx40 · 21/06/2018 17:18

@79andnotout I didn't even know we could find out gender until earlier today! Yes we will.

Hopefully surgeons can sort you out - maybe it will take the pressure off you and OH if you have to break from TTC whilst sorting this out. Hope it gets resolved soon

X

PixieN · 21/06/2018 20:46

Thanks Ladies. The consensus seems to be to take the supplements & try to be as healthy as poss, but not to go too overboard. It’s good to get your take on it. Not mentioned chemicals/plastics to DH. He’s got a scientist background too & very sceptical lol.

@Oxted2018 - your comment about not cleaning really made me laugh. Maybe that’s the answer! Wink

@79andnotout - really glad things have improved with your OH. Not heard about your condition either. Glad you’re seeing a consultant about it. Hope it’s sorted soon x

@Janex40 - that all sounds so exciting! You’ll have to let us know what you’re having Smile

Blondcat · 22/06/2018 08:20

@janefx40 great to hear updates from you and hope you get your results back soon x

@79andnotout glad things are improving with your oh. Not heard of your condition either but hope they can give you some answers soon.

Af has showed up for me bang on time today so onto the next month...

Oxted2018 · 22/06/2018 08:59

Hi all

@79andnotout I also have not heard of that condition before but it sounds like you're in good hands and they're on the case. Good luck.

AF was due yesterday and no sign yet. So I'm just waiting......am still only 10 dpo though so not going to POAS until at least after the weekend.

79andnotout · 22/06/2018 09:15

Good luck @Oxted2018 - fingers crossed for you!

Sorry to hear about AF @Blondcat :(

@PixieN - we're trying to cut down on plastic anyway, so avoiding plastic where possible is no bad thing for the environment if nothing else. OH has said he's swapping to bicarb and vinegar as cleaning agents, and we're buying no more cleaning products. Will see how that goes. This is us trying to be green rather than anti-hormone though, but guess it all counts.

In a shock turnaround I got a +ve OPK last night and suggested to OH we DTD, and he was up for it! The medical staff said this month would be a good one to try as they've pushed through a hole through my cervix, and the HSG will have cleared out my fallopian tubes, so I am probably in with my best shot since starting this journey however many years ago it is now. Not getting my hopes up at all but at least I'm in the running this month. Such a rollercoaster.

Oxted2018 · 22/06/2018 09:49

Ooh good luck @PixieN.

And @Blondcat - good luck for July! One consolation - at least AF had the decency to show on time rather than being late and giving false hope.

TheNewbieStep · 22/06/2018 10:50

@79andnotout

All the vibes..... good luck!

PixieN · 22/06/2018 12:58

Sorry to hear about AF @Blondcat.

Good luck @Oxted2018 & @79andnotout - fingers crossed! Smile

Oxted2018 · 22/06/2018 14:17

Sorry, I meant good luck @79andnotout!

WaitingforDaffodils · 22/06/2018 21:09

Good luck @79andnotout... Wishing the best things for you 🌸

79andnotout · 23/06/2018 07:59

Ha, thanks everyone! Annoyingly my temp hasn't increased much so maybe ovulation hasn't occurred as expected. I got a letter back from the consultant after my day 2 bloods yesterday saying "there was nothing of undue concern" but no results. What the hell does that mean? Just give me some figures, man!

Blondcat · 23/06/2018 08:19

Goodluck @oxted2018!

Aaargh @79andnotout that is so frustrating when I had mine done I called the gp and was told my results were 'normal'. Had to ask for the numbers... then asked Dr Google to confirm they were what was normal Grin. Sounds positive that there is nothing of undue concern.

Janefx40 · 23/06/2018 09:38

@79andnotout well done for the sex!!! And the good results. Of course you will want the numbers but the consultant being happy is a good start!

X

WaitingforDaffodils · 24/06/2018 10:51

So...got my CBFM peak today on day 10 (that seems early to me but so happy as I didn't even know if I did ovulate or not) so, following SMEP, 3 days of dtd to follow. Wish me luck and energy Smile

Russkispy · 24/06/2018 17:06

Thought I’d never write this but...sad news for us. Had my 8+2 scan today but there was no heartbeat! When we had our 1st scan 2 weeks ago and I was measured a week behind as originally thought, sadly, everything stopped pretty much right there and then. As they measured me today at 6 weeks only! Devastated is the understatement. Booked for a scan at the local EPU for tomorrow afternoon and then discuss the next steps. I know some of you been in this position before and I’m really sorry about that. I couldn’t never imagine yiur pain but now I know! I hope you’re feeling stronger after that and positive as I believe it’s only the way forward. Thank you for yiur time reading this. X

Russkispy · 24/06/2018 17:09

Never felt any pain or cramps, or bleeding. Just noticed the nausea stopped 2 weeks ago and yet was on and off with it for the past 2 weeks. At the scan I was told it was a missed miscarriage

WaitingforDaffodils · 24/06/2018 18:49

@russkrispy I am so, so sorry to hear this. I can't imagine how hard it is. Sending good thoughts to you & your partner xxx

Janefx40 · 24/06/2018 19:16

@Russkispy I'm so sorry to hear this. Just devastating news. This is so so tough. Sending lots of love to you and your OH

Blondcat · 24/06/2018 19:19

@russkispy so sorry for your loss it is incredibly hard and you just need to take time and grieve how you need to. Mine was a natural mc at 6+1 so not quite the same. I am onto cycle 3 post mc and generally feeling more positive though each af is hard as it is a reminder that you are no longer pregnant.
Sending hugs Flowers

Blondcat · 24/06/2018 19:23

Also there is a thread I am part of ttc after pregnancy loss who are incredibly supportive bunch and know exactly what you are going through as we have all been there.

SoozC · 24/06/2018 21:22

So sorry to hear this, Russkispy. Mine was a mc at 7 weeks. I'm sorry you now know how it feels; none of us would wish it on anyone. Take time to grieve and look after yourself. We're here for you if you want to talk xx
