We maxed out our last thread, so I've started another one for us!

Welcome, all those over 35 who are ttc number 1! Whether you're just starting out or you're an old-timer, come and chat with others who know what it's like to feel as though time is not on your side. When you feel like all your friends and family your age already have children and you need someone to moan to, we are here!

@kescilly sorry af showed up. If you have only recently come off of birth control it could be your cycles settling down (sorry can't remember if that was the case for you).

Sorry to hear that @kescilly I haven’t experienced that before, but I did have a month a few years ago where my period didn’t show at all - I wasn’t pregnant, but I was super stressed at the time! Is this your first month TTC? Hopefully this is just a one off for you. I read that the average time it takes to conceive is a year! Seems like a long time, but I know it’s not. We’re on month 6 & not a hint of a BFP. Fingers crossed for the next month x

Spoke with my clinic today and was told everything was fine with the measurements as with IUI they can never tell th exact time of ovulation and/or implantation. Asked me to schedule another early scan at 8 weeks which I did. And funny enough not feeling nauseous today. A Good or bad sign?! Why can’t it be so bloody straight forward!

Thanks guys. I haven’t been on birth control in over a decade, so it’s not that. This was my first cycle TTC with my husband, but I did TTC with an ex-husband when I was much younger. Never had a BFP, let alone a child. I’m not sure I want to go through all of this again but I appreciate you guys letting me join the thread the past month.

@Russkippy I’m so relieved they said everything is fine and that they are going to book you another scan. Wishing you a continued healthy pregnancy!

@kescilly hope you are doing a bit better. It is a lot to put yourself and your relationship through. Hope you work out what you are going to do.

Stupidly tested at 8dpo a few days ago, which I know is mega early, & got BFN. When is the best time to test? Managed to resist since, but AF is 3 days away. It was 1 day late the month before last & I was convinced It was the month. Just a late period though. Very annoying!

@PixieN pharmacist advised me not to test before 14dpo. Hormone levels may be too low before that. 1st response tests are only 99% accurate from missed AF (read smallprint!) so when you test early it's only 60% accurate or something. I got my BFP very clearly at 14DPO (3 days late) - test turned positive before my eyes!

@pixieN I tested day after af due with wilko cheapie pink dye test and got a faint but clear positive so would have been definitely clear positive on a frer. Sadly that was the mc I had in April but nothing to do with the lines then. I shall be waiting until the day after af due again when hopefully I see my next bfp. Currently in the tww (approx 3/4 dpo) of second cycle post mc so know the feeling of waiting... soo long! Fx for good news for you x

I'm 37 and TTC#1. We started trying last week and I'm 8 dpo (maybe...I was just going on an app, no temps or opk). I've had plenty of weird symptoms this week but think it's just been wishful thinking a bug. Waiting till Saturday to POAS (who would have guessed that would be something to look forward to?!)

For July, our first 'proper' cycle, we're all set with CB fertility monitor and lots of just starting out naivety optimism.

Hello all! I've come over from the same thread as @Waiting for Daffodils.

I'm 37 next month and am on month 2 of TTC #1. Just got married last month. Last month was a bit of guesswork on my ovulation date and so have used opks this month and am now 1dpo and trying not to obsess!

Lol at looking forward to POAS! Trying very hard not to, but will be 14dpo & due AF on Friday. @Oxted2018 I know what you mean about trying not to obsess!

I'm only 3 dpo but AF is due mid next week so am concerned that there just isn't enough time there for implantation ....🤔

Mind if i join? I've come over from the same thread as @waitingforDaffs and Oxted. I'm 38 TTC #1.

Been TTC for 12 months (its been more like 18, started taking it seriously 12 months ago) MC last October - nothing since.

Utterly obsessed with CB digital monitor. Have IVF referal, but going to keep trying for a few more months. Have PCOS.

Where are you at this cycle @TheNewbieStep?

@Oxted2018 didn't even get a chance - AF turned up regular as clockwork on a morning when I had to do a six hour photoshoot in freezing Scotland (thanks AF!)...hoping July is my month . Did you pee on a stick yet?

@TheNewbieStep ditto on CB monitor - I can't wait till day 5 so I can POAS and get my first reading

AF is due on Thursday but I'm only 6dpo so not particularly optimistic. Will only POAS if AF is several days late I think!
