We maxed out our last thread, so I've started another one for us!

Welcome, all those over 35 who are ttc number 1! Whether you're just starting out or you're an old-timer, come and chat with others who know what it's like to feel as though time is not on your side. When you feel like all your friends and family your age already have children and you need someone to moan to, we are here!

@flev I think it sounds promising too! Will you testing in the morning?

@Flev good luck! If you collect the wee in a tub then you can test it more than once! That way you can be more certain. And take a photo when you have the result. Then you can show us all!!

@Blondcat Glad you are feeling more positive. GP is a good start to get the ball rolling.

@SoozC Thank you! I'm rooting for you too (and all of you lovely ladies!). Maybe one day you and I will meet on a pregnancy or even a motherhood type thread!

@Blueberry1 Yes we will be doing all ICSI next time for sure - just have to hope I produce good eggs again. No guarantees are there?!

I listened to the wise advice on here and took a FRER this morning. It's a pretty clear BFP! Oh my goodness!

@keepinghopeful I'm 12 DPO so still a few days before AF was due - think it'll take her not showing up for me to totally believe it.

Will continue keeping fingers crossed for everyone.

Fab news @flev . You used the same kind of test I did when I got my BFP, so hopefully that's a good omen! You can get a false negative if you test early as HCG levels might be too low to be detected, but not a false positive cos HCG is only detected if it's there .

@Janefx40 indeed egg quality is key. Statistically at 40/41, up to 40% of your eggs should be good quality, so if you get 14, you should get quite a few, although of course you only need 1 .

Thanks for posting the pic - my secret confession is that I love looking at peoples' posts of positive tests on Mumsnet - it's how I cheer myself up when I feel like my own TTC journey is hopeless! Bit embarrassing but lucky we are anonymous on here eh?!

@janefx40 thank you so much for your response, I was a bit worried that it would make people feel like I was "gloating", especially as I only started posting very recently. Really hope your next round goes well, it sounds encouraging that you're producing the eggs you need - if only they can help you with the next stages. Will keep following your story if you don't mind?

Thanks @Flev follow away. I'm pretty down just now - definitely a bad day. OH deals with it by withdrawing. I deal with it by needing more love - not the best combo. We are in desperate need of some time off together but unfortunately we have to go to a family event next month and that wipes out both of our annual leave.

It's nice of you to be self-aware about BFP pics. You're right that there are some threads not to post a BFP on - I hope this one is ok. I've never had one so not had that dilemma!

Just in case it did bother anyone, sorry - that was my fault - I asked for a pic!

No, it's in the past. And there are plenty of pregnant people and babies around on a daily basis, I'll have to start getting over it some time. x

So been to docs today and being sent for 21 day blood test which is actually day 19 for me as slightly shorter cycle also going to do day 2-7 bloods before I get the results from all at same time so got a couple of weeks before all of those are done. She was really clear about the process that I get checked first then dh and if nothing an issue with either of us then we have to wait until we have been trying a year for further referral.
Feeling slightly more positive that I have at least got the ball rolling.

@Blondcat thats good, i always feel better being proactive as well. How long have you been ttc?

@keepinghopeful this is month 6 so early days I know compared to some on this and other threads. It does feel good to get the ball rolling as I feel like I will be happier to keep trying knowing there is nothing stopping it rather than assuming nothing wrong but could have done something about it if knew sooner. If that makes sense.

Congratulations @Flev! I’ve resisted testing though I’m due on tomorrow - I’d rather wait until I’m late... but I bought some tests and then so as not to jinx it I also bought some sterilising tablets for my mooncup thing 😂 silly superstition!

@Melamine I know the feeling! I need more opks and I’m currently CD16. It seems stupid to order more until I know I’m not pregnant this cycle but on the other hand if I don’t order now then I feel like I’m jinxing myself! Daft, I know!

Going for first acupuncture session on Thursday (thanks @SoozC for the encouragement!) and have GP appointment on Friday as this is cycle six for us so want to get the ball rolling on tests if it’s BFN.
