What's Fertility meditation? I could do with something to help me be calm and think positive x

Cobby81 · 03/02/2018 10:45

I bought it from iTunes. Her name is Jackie Brown £7.99. She has a soothing voice. But I know there are similar things on YouTube.

SoozC · 03/02/2018 20:27

I've just started acupuncture. Great first session, I can let you guys know how it goes if you're interested.

Thanks @SoozC that would be great!
How many sessions do they recommend? Did they suggest starting it at a particular time in your cycle.
I have emailed someone today but understandably she probably doesn't work at the weekend. So I hope I'll hear from her on Monday.

SoozC · 04/02/2018 17:18

She said at least 4 sessions to get me in "balance". She didn't say anything about a particular time in my cycle. It happened that I think I've ov'd this weekend, so my first session was just before but as it'll take a month to get me balanced, I'm not sure having one this week would have had much of an effect.

I haven't felt I've been waking up in the night as much and it helped me feel more positive for a few days. So definite benefits already.

Thanks for the info @SoozC. I did look into it a while ago but never got as far as booking it. Think I might give it a try now.

Melamine · 04/02/2018 18:07

Fingers crossed for the acupuncture doing the trick @SoozC!

Janefx40 · 05/02/2018 15:09

Hello all. Sorry to bear negative tidings but just thought I'd better let you know that our first round of IVF has not been successful. I have some small traces of hcg so they will follow this up to see if I had a chemical and ensure it isn't ectopic.

I've found that this is no worse than how I feel on a regular failed cycle - so you gals know the feeling. Sad, fed up but I know I will pick myself up and keep going.

The nice thing is that I do, at least, have a team of Drs working out what happened this time...have to look for silver linings where we can.

This thread is due a BFP!!!
Xxx

Melamine · 05/02/2018 15:28

Oh @Janefx40, so sorry to hear that, but your positive attitude is, well positive - if they can give you some answers then it's all been worth it. Fingers crossed. xx

Cobby81 · 05/02/2018 16:54

Janefx40 I'm sorry to hear your news. Sending you a big hug. I'm trying to copy your positive attitude.

SoozC I need something to help me sleep - my first appointment is booked in for the 15th.

Blondcat · 05/02/2018 18:06

@Janefx sorry hear it was not successful this time. Sending hugs Flowers

Most people I know have taken 2 or 3 cycles for a successful pregnancy so fx for the next round.

DreamyCat · 05/02/2018 18:16

Hi all, please may I join? I turned 35 at the end of October and have started TTC #1 over the last 6 months (to be honest, we've only been "properly trying" using opks for two months). I'm a bit disappointed as I felt like we did everything right last/this month DTD timing-wise. But I have a short luteal phase and AF seems to be here already (spotting) at 8dpo. It's hard not to feel sad as I was so hopeful this month!

Cobby81 · 05/02/2018 18:35

Hello @Dreamycat
I don't want to give you false hope but any chance it's implantation spotting? Fx it is.
I recognise your sadness. For months we have been Dtd at the right time so I like many don't understand why it's not happening. I have to distract myself otherwise I get caught up in the negativity of what ifs! Very unhelpful emotions for me and DP.

DreamyCat · 05/02/2018 18:41

@Cobby81 Thank you for the support. Sorry to hear you are struggling too, it's so stressful and an emotional rollercoaster...

I did hope it was implantation bleeding so tested with an internet cheapie tonight & of course BFN. The test line strip couldn't be whiter if I bleached it! I guess I'd at least get a faint line at 8/9 dpo. Plus I think I got this weird spotting thing in December too and wasn't pregnant. My periods have been odd since I came off the pill in July/August.

keepinghopeful · 05/02/2018 18:52

@Janefx40 so sorry, isnt this whole thing sh*t! Good woman for keeping positivity going!!

@DreamyCat its so hard, ive been conceiving (touch wood) but m/cing. Just about ur early bleeding, im similar - im having spotting after ovulation random days until my period, Dec i thought it was implantation as i had chemical however had it last month too with no bfp & have had it today at 3dpo (it happens after Bowel movement) sorry really TMI, however i have been googling like mad & think putting it down to cervical erosion - anyone else had/heard of this?

Cobby81 · 05/02/2018 18:56

@Dreamycat Again not to get your hopes up but still could be ok. I'm fairly sure that it would take a couple of days after implantation for hcg levels to become detectable. Hoping this is your month.

Janefx40 · 05/02/2018 19:02

Hi @DreamyCat the lowest level of hcg that can be detected is a first response which is at about 6.5. Most are around 20. The embryo has to implant before it start producing hcg so you wouldn't expect to get a positive from most tests before 12dpo and only then if you had high levels. (I have learnt an awful lot about hcg since this morning when they told me I had low traces! I think I read the whole internet)

Cobby81 · 05/02/2018 19:09

@keepinghopeful Sorry I don't have that until a day or two before AF. Is it worth checking in with GP?
In case nobody has guessed already DP is at work so I can while away the time on MN without him thinking I'm crazy and obsessed with baby making!

keepinghopeful · 05/02/2018 19:30

@Cobby81 some months it doesnt start until 8dpo or so but past couple months sooner. Im under consultant care for RMC & waiting on hysteroscopy so im assuming theyll be able to tell from it

Cobby81 · 05/02/2018 19:49

@keepinghopeful I'm glad you are being looked after.

Lissyc1 · 05/02/2018 20:25

Hi ladies I’m 36 ttc #1. I’m new to all this so please be kind 😌 No idea about the pattern of my cycles yet stopped pill in Jan period due last Sunday had cramps on and off for a week before period due date but still no show how do you ladies cope with this unpredictability??? I have started taking some prescribed vits from gp and high dose folic acid ( I have a neurological condition that’s in remission but because I took anticonvulsants in past it’s a precaution) is anyone else having to do this and if so does it make you feel queezy? Any how happy trying folks xx

DreamyCat · 05/02/2018 20:30

@Cobby81 @Janefx40 Thanks for the hopeful and informative messages. Have purchased some first response tests to try if AF doesn't properly arrive. I have weird bubble sensations in my lower abdomen and a dull constant twinge on the right side of my abdomen. But still only 5-6 drops of spotting today.

Not getting my hopes up but at least I know I was testing way too early (from 7dpo). Thanks!!!

DreamyCat · 05/02/2018 20:32

@keepinghopeful Sorry I can't help much with the spotting issue, I have only ever spotted at the beginning of AF (and that's only in the last few months). Hope docs can give you an answer.

79andnotout · 06/02/2018 12:59

Hi! I was on this thread earlier but took a break from mumsnet for a while. So to reintroduce myself,

Age 38
TTC #1
Cycle 3

@Janefx40 - I have been keeping an eye out on your IVF progress and was really hoping for a BFP for you yesterday. Well done for keeping the PMA up. Now at least you know what to expect next time around, and fingers crossed for then.

@keepinghopeful - I have been getting spotting mid cycle for the past few months, accompanied with cramping. I'm pretty sure it is hormonal imbalance/perimenopause in my case, but have an appointment with the doc next week to discuss. I'll post up what she says. My EWCM is always bloody and gungey these days which is not pleasant!

Other than worrying about imminent menopause, I'm in good spirits. Relationship with OH going great and has been for months now, so think our rocky patch is well and truly behind us, he's loving his new career path, and I'm mostly trying to be philosophical about TTC and enjoying life in the moment. Trying not to let it rule/ruin my life.

@Lissyc1 - i just take normal pregnancy level folic acid/vitd and various cod liver/omega3/glucosomine oils etc, so don't experience any nausea.

Fingers crossed @DreamyCat, definitely time for a BFP on here! But yeah, hold off on testing until you're at least in double figures post ovulation. I came off the pill (Cerazette/Cerelle) about 15 months ago and my periods never returned to normal - they still vary from 21 - 29 days. I guess this is my new norm. Fertility Friend seems to work out when my period is due quite accurately though, so I think my luteal phase and temps must be quite predictable.

Flev · 06/02/2018 16:43

I've been hanging around here for a bit, reading more than I post - but wanted to say hello. I'm 39, TTC number one, and in month 5 of trying.

Currently in the TWW, AF is due in a week. Trying not to get my hopes up, but it's feeling a bit different this time - quite a lot more damp "down there" (it almost feels like AF has arrived) and starting to get occasional cramps and twinges.

Hello to everyone on here - and fingers crossed for some BFPs soon.
