Thanks Kerry, I'm glad I called them this morning as at least I know hey haven't forgotten about me, or at least I have reminded them I'm still waiting. Give them a call if u don't hear from yours...

KerryLeanne84 · 08/09/2017 10:36

Who did you call weasledee? The hospital Epu? Thanks, I will do!

PhoebeMouse · 08/09/2017 10:45

Thanks @KerryLeanne84 I think we will probably start trying as soon as I get the BFN too!

midgetjen · 08/09/2017 10:52

Hello - can I join? May be a little premature here as have very sadly miscarried at around 6 weeks this week. But just want to be prepared for ttc again as the dr I saw wasn't very helpful with advice.

Ekphrasis · 08/09/2017 11:34

Sorry for your loss midget, I think I saw you on the over 40s thread? I'm 40 too and had mc at 8 weeks and 5 weeks this year.

I've just been to the gp the usual haven't got a clue about thyroid levels but she wants a urine test to confirm. I'm paranoid they will test with a really high sensitivity test. Just wondering whether to give this mornings urine (a cheap boots one came up with a line with that!) or just wait till Monday? A frer I just did for comparison is really dark. Any idea what strength boots are?

Ekphrasis · 08/09/2017 11:35

I'm having a hard time with anxiety I must say.

weasledee · 08/09/2017 12:28

Kerry, yes I phoned the epu. Very helpful to be fair, even when I didn't know my hospital number or when I told her I'd never been told who my consultant was! :) They put me through to the correct medical secretary, just feel better that I know I will hear something now.....

KerryLeanne84 · 08/09/2017 13:16

Thanks weasledee - I may wait a few weeks and do that then!

Sorry for the anxiety ekphrasis- I have my fingers crossed things will work out for you. Remember it's more likely to be a good outcome than a bad one.

Welcome midget and I'm very sorry this is happening to you. We're here for you whatever questions you have.

I've been back at work this week and functioning okay but I'm walking around feeling like I'm in a trance generally. I just feel like a shadow of myself

NoCatsHere · 08/09/2017 14:06

Welcome midget you will get lots of great support here. So sorry for your loss.

Elk maybe wait and give fmu on monday? I think you'd be fine, even if you gave whatever you had now, you seem to be getting strong positives, but i understand you questioning everything and being anxious...

I got my period yesterday which is ok as I was expecting it as we had an unintended break from ttc this last month due to being away at exactly the wrong times. I have to say it was nice to have a break from that evil 2ww. End of this month however is my first due date, so i'd love nothing more than to be pregnant again. I have looked again and fw is ok this month and better still falls in our holiday next month so I'm feeling better and more positive at the minute which is nice.

evening primrose oil and ubiquinol a go too this month!

AnneLovesGilbert · 08/09/2017 14:26

Checking back in, been away lots! Sorry to see new people here, so sorry for your losses Flowers

Nice to have been super busy and adventuring, not thought that much about ttc this cycle. Had a bit of a panic temping about not having ovulated as temps were all over the shop. Probably due to weird wake up times. Then yesterday it said I HAD and put me at 6dpo so I was half way through the 2ww and didn't even know. Phew!

More madness ahead, hen do, birthdays, today I baked 29 scones. Back to a bit of normal and routine Monday. Actually can't wait.

How's everyone?

@KerryLeanne84 I'm the same. I'm 'getting on with it' just fine, but inside I'm so sad. Got a GP appt on Monday (got very lucky and found a cancellation after school hours with my regular GP!) so I'll tell her how I feel.

KerryLeanne84 · 08/09/2017 15:29

Hugs Flatwhite - I'm sure there is hope for both of us it's just difficult to be hopeful at the moment isn't it

BertieBotts · 08/09/2017 16:19

Grumpy Flowers I know it feels awful and like it's the end of the world to go past your due date but if it happens it will be okay. The worst part is the anticipation. The day itself will suck (whether you're pregnant or not it will be hard) but once you've passed that point it's just sort of a nothing. It's not as desperate as you think. And again it's a step towards answers, because if it gets to a year past, you can go and ask for investigations. In fact, ask at 10 months. Just to give you something close to aim for. The worst they can do is tell you to come back later.

EK they tend to use the bulk ones which are internet cheapies, which are actually quite sensitive. But really you'll be fine if you're getting strong positives now. Give the urine on the day.

midget welcome and if you have questions we're your gals Grin The most common one is "when can I try again?" - The answer being whenever you're ready. Wait for bleeding to stop to minimise risk of infection. But there's no medical reason to wait a cycle or two. Your ovulation is likely to be hard to pin down first cycle post mc but that's no reason not to try if you feel ready.

Thanks nocats, glad you've had a good break and you too anne - I found it was helpful to have head space actually last time I took a break from it.

I think my quandary was, if Im starting to loose this pregnancy now, there'll be nothing on Monday and I'd like them to get a positive today if possible. If they don't today, it's either not strong enough yet or already failing (though lines seem stronger than a couple of days ago.) so I gave them the slightly old fmu I'd collected! They won't test for uti as I'm still on abs for that.

kerry and flat - I do know how you feel. It does slowly get easier - I found that choosing to have an enforced break for at least a month (I think we did two) so the ubiquinol and DH's vitamins could take affect, really helped me mentally.

That's impressive foxtrot - I'm not getting much feed back from gps though she did write down my mc on the midwife referral form today. I've asked in the past about aspirin as o was told to take it from bfp by the team at the hospital when I had my son who was low birth weight. They said there was no evidence and you'd take it at 12 weeks (for preeclampsia and growth) and I couldn't get a referral. However, when I mc, I saw a dr at the hospital and asked her. I started taking it when I got my bfp. I do get worried though!

midgetjen · 08/09/2017 16:37

Thank you for the welcome everyone, and that advice about when to start trying again is really helpful @Bertie. I think we would like to start again quite soon if possible as I have had some health issues in the past and if they have affected my fertility would be better to know sooner rather than later if possible.
I know I am very lucky as we have a 2 and a half year old DS.
Not me on the other board I'm afraid. Am still in my early 30's at the moment. Wonder if there is another mn user with a midget name too on that board.

coastalchick · 08/09/2017 16:47

so here's a question: If I do an OPK now, because the pregnancy test is showing positive, is the OPK also likely to show positive? Would this still be the case if I used the Clear Blue Digital one rather than internet cheapie??

Have stopped bleeding now (I think) - 6 days post tablets so quite happy with that. So I suppose we could start trying now BUT I'd rather wait until we have had the follow-up scan on 19th to get the all clear and to try to track ovulation. Or do we just go for it?!!!

Flatwhite31 · 08/09/2017 16:58

TMI alert here, but when I wiped earlier the tissue was black! Is this normal?!

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 08/09/2017 17:07

@coastalchick I would imagine it would do but if you really want to take your chances bd I don't see why it'd make much of a difference. It's down to personal choice.

@Flatwhite31 Was it full on black or a dark brown?

Ekphrasis · 08/09/2017 17:37

Oh I'm sorry midget, I'm mistaken. My brain isn't working great at the mo; I think I thought about joining the may thread but the group I joined when I had my son 5 years ago is still very active and I don't think I can devote my time to two!

I hope you're ok. Time is very much on your side too.

Ekphrasis · 08/09/2017 17:39

flat I had that, no idea of good or bad. Mine was quite thick?

NoCatsHere · 08/09/2017 17:42

coastal i'd wait for the pregnancy tests to show neg before ttc again. I don't agree with waiting for first af as that's just about dates, but you need to get a neg peg test otherwise you will not know if this is a new pregnancy or you have retained old tissue which is really not a good thing. If you have some ic then I'd be testing every day. Then as soon as it's a neg, switch to the opks!

flat ummm never had black, had very dark brown or that red/black... I'd say it's not great, but maybe so long as it was just as you wiped, and it's not coming out of you? If you're worried call doctor or epu?

NoCatsHere · 08/09/2017 17:45

hi anne glad you had a good break too. And thanks elk it's reassuring to know you had a month or two break and have now fallen pregnant, I think sometimes I feel like I can't stop trying or thinking about it or else it won't happen for me, but I know really that's not the case, it's just a bit all consuming sometimes...

Flatwhite31 · 08/09/2017 17:53

It was really dark. It was in the toilet at work though and there was a queue, so I didn't spend too long looking at it! Am getting some quite sharp abdominal pains, but they aren't horrendous. I don't feel unwell though, so I'm pretty sure it's not an infection. Got lucky and managed to get a cancelled GP appt for Monday, so will mention it then. Spending a weekend at home with DH. Neither of us feel like doing much.

KerryLeanne84 · 08/09/2017 18:01

Id definitely mention it on Monday flat - bodies are weird and wonderful things so it could be perfectly normal but best to check it with the gp
