Ready - Thankyou for your kind words. I just think that my obsession with TTC is taking over every part of my life, I honestly don't think I can go a minute without thinking about it or should I say worrying about it.

On Thursday I went to see my friend who is 3 months pregnant (It's taken me so long to get the courage to go and see her I am ashamed to say). I saw the scan, it made me all emotional and just can't ever imagine it being me.

She doesn't know I am trying and I don't want her too. But shes going on and on about how she wants a girl and not a boy. (She has 2 boys already). I just feel like screaming at her saying how lucky she should be to get pregnant again it doesn't matter whether its a boy or a girl.

Sorry for the rant, especially as I should be trying to relax as should be ovulating any day now! (But then I could be wrong about that as well).

Fingers crossed for you minxi, sorry your not feeling positive.

Gracie14 · 25/03/2007 09:25

Minxi - sorry it took me so long to write my post I had missed yours.

I must be ovulating soon - I hope I am anyway. Hopefully won't be long before I'm joining you in the 2WW.

I've got everything crossed for us all, there has surely got to be some BFP's on the way as March was so quiet for those. Lets hope so

minxi - Oh, thank you so so much, you have no idea how much that cheered me up what you said yesterday!! I am sure that we would get on like a house on fire! You blow your own trumpet all you like - and big me up while you are at it ... I would love to fall within 9 months - that would be wonderful I am sorry that you don't feel very positive for this cycle, but finger crossed anyway - and it's almost WIN-WIN, BFP=WOOOO and AF=Clomid - so at the very least, there is something pro-active to come Oh, and if I ever find myself down in Surrey, I will definitely look you up

Greedy - You mean you might sound like me "really annoying" Thanks for your words of wisdom - great as always! I do need to remember that I am still 28!! My ambition now is to fall before I am 29

Rahrah - I am pleased that I made you and your DH grin!! I'm right though, think of your eggs

Seaside - I hope you are ok??

Lottie - I hope you are ok? Enjoy your week off before you go to Spain.

Gracie - I completely understand that feeling of ttc taking over, this is my 7th cycle, and for me I was worse about 3/4 cycles in - now I am a bit better!! I think that the feeling that it is taking over comes in waves, sometimes you will feel ok about it all, then bam! you feel as though you migh pop if you have to think about it one more time You are in good company!
No need to apologise for ranting - I think most of us on here have (or have had at some point) a close friend that is pregnant - and it's not easy to cope with! I can imagine it would be ten times harder if they start expressing a gender preference, when you would give anything to have whatever you get. Hang in there, sweets, and feel free to rant any time you like!

Mum03 - I'll keep my PMA (I couldn't lose it even if I tried!) and I will help you with yours, because you asked me to Oh, and welcome to the 2ww - enjoy not taking your temp and getting some extra zzzzzzzz's.

MrsMcJnr - Any joy with the temp rise? We are all waiting patiently here. Hope you are doing ok??

Insywinsy - I am eager for some more temps for you - How are you doing??

Looking forward to weepootle getting her broadband connection up and running, so we can hear all about the trials of moving

Rattling - Was it this weekend you went to see 300?? How was it?

Iwillbe - When are you back temping with us?

Fresco and Lissie - Are you still temping? Not heard from you in a bit?? Everything ok??

And since it looks like I have mentioned everyone except Duchesse, I will say hello to Duchesse

Seaside, Glad you are not going to bottle up those emotions as I too believe it can cause negative side effects! I like that you use to ditch your dads tour bus for the better one . Oh yes, nearly forgot, my scan is on 23rd April - very excited! I just read your post about being an avid researcher and feeling empowered but not with TTC. I am a devil for researching but I learnt a couple of really important things in TTC and now actually being PG. One was that researching really got me into my head and away from my heart and being in your head will keep you in fear. I found that if something wasnt quite right in my chart (according to statistics!) I would be researching endlessly. I am all for knowing and understanding, as I say I am a devil for it, but when you get the info I think its then important to go back to your heart and trust. I realised that I used researching as a means to try and control my fear about a situation, rather than allow myself to feel the fear, release it and move through it. When I did allow myself to feel the fear I got back to my heart and was in a much more intuitive space. The same thing happenened when I found I was PG. I went to the DRs and he went on and on about statistics of a 40 year old having a miscarriage, having a Downs/spina bifida baby. I had obviously known about this before I went but found that with all his statistics I allowed myself to get into a fear space and started thinking that this could be a possibilty. I did my research thing so I was armed but this didnt allow me to get back to where I wanted to be - in my heart enjoying my pregnancy. What I came to the conclusion is the whole statistics thing is complete tosh! I may have a 1 in 100 chance of spina bifida/downs baby but I have a great risk, statistically, of walking across the road and getting killed. Also everyone is so different, no-one has the exactly same anything (although we can have similarites) and statistics is based on only one or maybe 2 factors they are trying to get statistics for. For example, Take downs babies, they just take into account age and if they have Downs or not, and not all the other multiple factors that may have effected it like smoking, fitness etc. I now know my facts on the subject but I have put them to one side and trusting that my baby is alright. Its not blind faith, its just that when you work through the fear you can believe that everything is alright again. An aside to this is Drs told me when I was 21 that I wasnt going to walk again let alone play the cello and here I am doing both. Ifelt the fear, did my research but they certainly didnt take into account my determination. I am not sure what is going on with you re: ovarian reserve as I missed the post?? but I hope this helps?xx

Ready I dont worry about your positivity but I am glad that you realise that it may be a defense mechanism. My worry about you though is that you dont get enough support for yourself when you feel down as you feel that you may have to be positive because thats how people know you on here. I would really like you to know that we are here for you too!

Rahrah - Your brother is amazing!!! It is so not about his daughter but about him. My sister does this one, blames things on my niece when its her issue with me!!!! Its funny how what he has accused you of "crossed the boundaries as a sister" is what he is doing to you not the other way round. I think you are right in staying away from him until you feel its alright as he is acting like a spoilt child and no amount of reasoning is going to get through to him at the moment. I am so glad you are going to look after yourself in this way. How are you going to deal with your dad though as I know you are working with him?

Minxi - missed the post on your Luteal phase length, but just to say mine is 10 days which is not the "normal" length and I still got PG.

Well in the true style of rock and roll the tour bus has been delayed and I dont need to leave today - which is just as well as my glands are up today and I am not feeling too well. On the plus side it does mean i can hang around in Mumsnet today

iwillbepgbydec07 · 25/03/2007 13:44

hello everyone! glad you started a new thread that other one was sooo long and has taken me a long long time to read!

lottie and seaside - im really sorry you two are having a rough time but atleast you are being pro-active about things with getting hubbies to have sperm tests etc, my dp has already expressed his thoughts on the sperm sample thing and is refusing point blank that he will not be having one if it comes to it. but we will see... we will miss you lots lottie when you go try and log on now and again if you can but i think this will do you and dh the world of good a bit of time apart and a bit of space to find yourselves again. keep your chins up!

rah - i am in at how your brother is handling this situation he sounds like a very mean and self absorbed person. he hasnt taken one step back to think how you are feeling it seems. the sad thing about it all is that his daughter is now going to be missing out on an aunty because of his piggish behaviour.

nice to hear from you angelfire hope you are keeping happy and healthy! is this your first?

ready - keep your PMA i love your upbeat personality and kind words you would be such a great friend to have in rl! i will be back with you guys next week,i am on cd23 so if i make it to a 28 day cycle i shall be joining you saturday!

mrsmcjnr - still no sign of ovulation yet im really sorry to hear that you had to buy some hpts to see if they came up BFN. i got told to do that 2 weeks after my m/c and i held out so much hope that it would show a bfp and id need another scan and then they would tell me they had been wrong and they saw a healthy baby there. i think its a good to do one as it sort of puts an end to it so you can begin again knowing that when you do get a bfp (very soon!) its for real.

this week has been a bit hectic for me, we have had 2 tenants move out so have had to show a load of idiots round the properties to be re-rented but gladly now i have found some sensible people! we have also completed on another rental property so things are looking up! still not found our house yet

cd23 today have had sore nipples for the last week id guess from ovulation actually which is new for me, i thought they would go after a few days. ive been downing the grapefruit juice like its going out of fashion - i love the stuff!!
have switched from folic acid to taking sanatogen pro-natal and my god are they big!

i feel so crap today havnt been hungover like this for a long time! makes a change for me to be the one blindly drunk instead of dp! i wasnt going to drink just incase of a bfp - but i cannot keep putting everything on hold, the interview i was supposed to have i didnt go purely for the fact of maternity benefits! i just hope my bfp is around the corner because i cannot stick at this job for much longer. i will not be returning to work after maternity leave i will be running the letting business and start marketing our products again. i cant wait

one of my friends who i work with is pregnant and i cannot believe the way she is being treated at the moment i have been researching the laws on employers responsibilities whilst you are pg. they were very reasonable and understanding when i was pg but with her it has been a different ball game. im so for her. she doesnt need this stress.

angelfire777 · 25/03/2007 17:34

Hi Iwill, Yes this is my first - very excited!

Glad you had a good drunken night out and dont worry about it affecting your BFP. My friend was abroad partying for a week. She started feeling ill and although wanted a baby didnt think that it could be the reason she wasnt feeling so good. She went to the DRs abroad and I cant remember what he diagnosed her with but it was wrong and prescribed drugs that are not allowed over here (she found out later as they are hullucinogenic!!!!!) She had 2 days of hullucinations and when she finally came home she went to the DR and he said she was PG!!!!! She went on to have a lovely baby girl. Then you have people that are really careful and they cant get PG, there seems there is no rhyme or reason to it!!!

seaside72 · 25/03/2007 18:11

angelfire - thanks for your wise words - I think you are absolutely right - I am paralysed by my fears of at worst never being able to have a baby and at best not being abe to get pregnant unassissted. And I know these fears are holding me back but I just cant seem to pull my head out of that space and move through the fears. Someone sugested to me the other day that I might need to consider the possibility of not having a baby and I broke down at the thought. I know I must pull myself together becaue it is irrational- there are so many worse things in life.

rah - l am still agog at your brothers callous attitude, but you and your DH have been through worse and I think walking away from them/the whole espisode for a while is prob the best option. Getting drawn into pettiness is not good for your eggs as Ready so rightly pointed out Hope the painting has been successful

minxi - well done for setting up the new thread - I just checked out your chart and I don't get why FF moved your ov ??

mum03 - happy 2ww!! I think I am going to have a more relaxed attitude to teming this month and may stop in the 2ww as well. Will be interested to see if you think it makes the wait worse or better! Hopefully better cos there will be a BFP at the end

Gracie - Absolutely know what you mean about the obssession of TTC. I have never been a very addictive person - never smoked, dont really drink etc but I can only assume this is what it must feel like - you must get that daily /hourly fix of obssessing even though you know it is doing you no good?

Ready - again thanks for all your sweet words and support - truly apprciated {{{hugs}}}

Iwillbe - LOL at your sore head - hope it is easing up!! You are well into the 2ww - fingers crossed

Hoping everyone else is OK and having a mellow Sunday xxx

mum03 · 25/03/2007 21:26

well you have all made my night, it is so good to see so many people supporting each other here. I can feel the love and support here wrapping around each other. It might sound twee when I say it like that, but it is how it feels right now. So I just want to say thank you to all of you.

Morning all,

I was surprised to be the first, hope I have corrected properly.

Minxi and Ready - Hope those temps are behaving themselves.

I still don't seem to have OV'd yet, although had EWC yesterday, thats a sign isn't it? Planning on using OPK today but if I get another negative I know I going to want to chuck the things away. I feel like using them has completely confused me

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend

My temp is dropping now so I will probably be at the top of the list by the end of the week unless I decide not to temp due to just getting on with the clomid!!

Hope we are all okay this beautiful sunny day!

OP posts:
Ready · 26/03/2007 14:55

It's gorgeous weather here!!

Minxi - When do you start on the clomid if this month is not to be? Do you think you will temp or is it likely to affect your temps?? Sorry for all the questions.

Rahrah - How are you? Did you get the room painted in a colour that you are happy with??

Gracie - My temp is behaving, but I am feeling some aches in my tummy, which is usually a sign that my period is not too far away The EWCM is definitely a good sign that you are in a fertile period, so keep at it ... I know what you mean about the OPKs, I used them last month, and I ran out before I got a positive! The one month my body decided to OV on CD19!! They do help a lot of people pin-point when ovulation is about to happen, but if they are stressing you out, then maybe not do them next month and see what happens with your temps.

Mum03 - Not twee at all!!

Angelfire - Thanks for saying you are all here for me. It means a lot.

Seaside - I am worried about you. Things are obviously getting you down, and we are here for you if you need us. Please don't think you have to stay away if you are feeling low - that's not what MN is about!! Take care of yourself!

Lottie - Worried about you too! I hope you are ok?

Iwillbe - Lovely to hear from you, fingers crossed you don't have to start temping again, because you get your BFP!!

Everyone else... hope all is well.

Where is everyone? My word it is quiet!!

iwillbepgbydec07 · 26/03/2007 15:10

Sorry I?ve been away for a few days, the thread moves so fast it?d hard to catch up! I think I?m going to be at the bottom of the list for all the wrong reasons for a lot longer!

Fingers crossed for you Minxi

Mum03 ? no sign of OV yet! My software has written me off as infertile now will just have to patiently wait and see what happens I guess!

Gracie ? poor you hon, you sound so low why can?t you imagine yourself with a baby? It really helps to visualize and make it real, apparently that helps your brain release the right hormones too

Well done with your roll call/catch up with everyone Ready I?m impressed!

Hello Rahrah hope the painting is going well.

Nice to hear from you Angelfire ? hope the scan is an incredible and beautiful experience!

Iwillbe ? hello! Hope the hangover wasn?t too bad! Careful with the grapefruit juice, it is too acidic to have more than a glass a day and will be counter productive (you need alkaline conditions for a baby).

Hello to everyone else too.. I?ll go and look at the old thread now and see what I missed!

Just realised that I didn't post my temp when I posted the list - oops

MrsMcJnr · 26/03/2007 16:29

Caught up on what I missed between Friday and today?.

Seaside ? I think there is a lot of truth in what you say about spending the money you earn to compensate for the fact that you have to earn it! I agree with that When you feel low, don?t stay away, that?s the time we want to be here for you the most

What course are you doing at the mo Ready?

Thanks for your good wishes for me Angelfire the tiredness is incredible isn?t it, I felt like I?d been drugged, I just couldn?t believe it could be that way.

Hey Duchesse ? glad to hear you are feeling better. I can?t remember what Toni said in her book now, I?ll have to check but I did think before that my pre ov temps of 35.8/9 were ok?!

Thanks Honeyapple ? yes temping and trying hard but my body has other ideas! How are you hon? How are you feeling?

Rahrah ? I?m so sorry to hear about your brother?s attitude, it stinks and reeks of self centred smugness if you ask me get far, far away from him! My immediate thought was exactly the same as Mum03?s that?s spooky, I think you should write your niece a letter for when she is older too, it?ll help you get your feelings out.

Lottie ? I really hope the trip goes really well I will miss you so much on here, please come back whenever you can! I?m sorry to hear that things are still unresolved with your Mum I am angry with mine at the moment too if I?m honest, how can they not be there for us and understand how vulnerable we are at these times? I?m so hurt by my Mum?s lack of empathy.
