Anyone ttc baby #2 in July?

Hi all,
Anyone ttc number 2?!

I know lots of you are so I thought I'd see if anyone in same boat wants to chat on a new thread?!

I chat to some lovely ladies on the monthly ttc buses....I know some are ttc their first baby (some with real difficulties like MC, or just for a long time) and I feel so bad to be worrying about conceiving #2 when I already have a lovely little one tucked up in his bed upstairs, when I'm sure they'd love to be in that position. (Not that they'd ever say anything or show any resentment, as they're all lovely and just as supportive whether people are trying for 1st or 5th!!!)

It is a bit different though, different emotions... grateful for what you have but longing to be a mummy again... and different challenges (trying to fit in dtd when you have a little person sabotaging your efforts and popping up to demand a drink/teddy/phantom tummy ache, I swear he has a radar for it!)

So I just wondered if anyone wanted to chat who's in same boat ttc #2, as it can also be hard when you desperately want to have another baby, to give your others a sibling, and it's seemingly not happening...

I'm ttc#2 (ds just turned 3)
Age 36
Cycle 5 (af just ending). Feeling disappointed but hopeful ...

Good luck all ttc whatever number you're on!

X

Sorry about the BFN squashy. I feel the same about another maternity leave, the thought of it is making work more bearable at the moment.
I'm on CD9 today too Nell. Think AF due on Friday, I'm going to try and wait until Saturday to test. Good luck to all testing this week!

Nubian9454 · 10/07/2017 07:33

Sorry about the negative Squashy. It is frustrating that out bodies taunt us so sometimes. But still in with a chance since af has not yet arrived.

Kashy good luck this week with testing. Baby dust x

MynameisJune · 10/07/2017 08:46

Sorry about the BFN squashy, it always seem particularly cruel when AF just decides to randomly stay away.

SquashyMummy · 10/07/2017 13:24

Thanks for the support ladies. I think a BFP is pretty unlikely now as I'm about 14DPO. I'm just hoping AF arrives sometime this week as that should make my FW coincide with our summer holiday.

LopeyLopez · 10/07/2017 17:02

Sorry Squashy Flowers

I know what you mean about another mat leave keeping you going....it's like the light at the end of the tunnel. Without that hope i don't think I could keep on working day in day out.

Really really need to fall pg soon to get that mat leave in and stop me from quitting my job!! (We can't afford for me to do that!)

O day today for me according to ff - it always puts it the day after first positive opk if you aren't temping (I am not because my other signs of o are so strong). However I had my usual terrible unmistakable o pains yesterday evening so I'm thinking it was probably then....

There is always the question, though, of whether the pains are before/during/after o....no one seems to know. The internet brings up basically every answer and none! So it could be I get the pains as I gear up to o I guess.....

In any case I already feel in the throes of the tww with full on symptom spotting already....aargggghh....at least work distracts me from it!

Good luck everyone xx

Nubian9454 · 10/07/2017 17:44

I'm with you guys maternity leave is the hope I'm holdish onto to have a break from my job. I'm on a treadmill and need to get off!! Really hope this is my month. I have funny o pains. Yesterday got a faint line on opk (negative I guess) and I thought it would get stronger as I move towards O. But 2 clear negatives today. Worrying me a bit cause hope I haven't missed my LH surge. Bd ced yesterday and today just in case. Baby dust all x

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 11/07/2017 06:47

Ah, I hear you all on the mat leave thing. I'm lucky in that I do love my job - it's just very, very full-on and I know DS would also really benefit from me being off. His childminder was on holiday for a week quite recently and so I took the week off and collected him from school every day and it was lovely, for both of us.

I'm trying not to think too seriously about the prospect of adding pregnancy into the current mix though..! I was so so tired, especially during the first trimester, last time around - and obviously I didn't have a child already (and my job then wasn't as demanding as now). I mean, coming home from work and rolling into bed isn't going to be an option this time around...

10dpo today and my temp has shot back up. Really hard to resist the temptation to POAS! I started temping a few months before trying, just to reassure myself that all was normal and I was ovulating etc, and one month I did go triphasic. This knowledge is not really helping me contain my hopes now. Maybe POAS today wouldn't be such a bad idea? I mean, maybe a BFN would help me get myself in check, even though at this stage it might be a tested-too-early BFN, rather than an AF-on-the-way BFN...

I have a weird taste in my mouth and am peeing more than usual. And am really tired and foggy-brained. There are plenty of reasons to be tired, and the others could well be psychosomatic. I remember being convinced I was pg the first month of trying for DS, and I wasn't... (AF was a day late and I hadn't tested before then, so possible chemical, but equally possible I was just going TTC crazy!)

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 11/07/2017 06:49

Lopey I'm convinced that o pains are pinpointing actual O, for me anyway. My temp always shifts the day after (and my libido collapses!).

LopeyLopez · 11/07/2017 07:05

Thanks Nell I thought that was the case re: ovulation pain...which means my bd timing was perfect again this month! Which means it will be so hard for me to stomach again if I don't get pregnant this time....

Yeah, I do worry about the tiredness aspect of getting up the duff again, this time with a small child....last time I also used to roll into bed on arriving home from work. Even without pregnancy I am done in by the end of each day - or even before - atm. And my job is also more full on now than it was pre- first baby. I still want this though!! I will just have to cope; it'll be worth it.

With regards to POAS at 10 dpo, I say just do it if you've got loads of cheap tests spare...! (I have!) Like you say, it might allow you to get on with things if it's negative.... Saying that I have amazingly managed to wait til 11 or 12 dpo last few cycles....it's like I become frozen with the quandry of wanting to know / knowing it's too early anyway....and the frozen feeling scares me and I just can't do it! Worried about the chemical thing: getting a positive and then it turns into negatives, as it seems all too common....

Nubian9454 · 11/07/2017 07:25

Nell I would poas. I have loads of cheap ones too. Feed the addiction. Sounds positive for you though. Good luck and keep us posTed. Baby dust

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 11/07/2017 09:09

BFN. Definitely the right decision to test though - it's brought me back down to earth which is what I needed, I think! Will test again Thursday if AF doesn't show up first. Fairly sure I got a negative at 13dpo (positive at 14dpo) when I was pg with DS so I'm not feeling too despondent just yet.

Nubian9454 · 11/07/2017 11:01

Still lots of time. Fingers crossed x

OvariesForgotHerPassword · 11/07/2017 11:04

I'll join if that's OK? BFP not due until August but the actual trying will be in July Wink

I'm 23 on Thursday, DD is 3 and we're on cycle 2 of TTC :)

user1489606775 · 11/07/2017 11:05

This morning I did a test... the window was clear... I got in the shower... 10 minutes later there's a faint line. The packet says do not read results after 5 minutes 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Sorry about the BFNs guys. I'm also losing hope this month. No +opk this month (but a close to +one then back to blank) and no ewcm. I wasn't sure when to DTD so I think I've missed the window, then yesterday a temp spike carried on to today. So does that mean I did ovulate? I'm really confused. Any advice appreciated x

Nubian9454 · 11/07/2017 12:39

User that looks like a positive. Maybe do another test tomorrow or this evening. But sounds like a congrats is in order!

Hi Ovaries we have another thread going for August bfp. See Impatient's post above. I'm also hoping for my bfp thus cycle which is number 2.

Hazel that's what is happening to me. I would say just do the deed everyday or every other day to cover all possibilities. Baby dust everyone x

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 11/07/2017 15:21

Thanks Nubian.

Hazel - id agree with Nubian's recommendation to basically just DTD frequently so that hopefully you're covered whenever you did/do ovulate... I am a massive fan of temping though and would always defer to the post-o temp spike as the definitive proof (since everything else is just about your body gearing up to ovulate, and can be variable - e.g. I've never been able to get a proper positive on an OPK, I think just because I drink a lot so my urine is pretty dilute - this may be different with the posh kits though).

I hope it's a real positive user - can there really be so much different in an extra five mins?! Fingers crossed for you.

Foniks · 11/07/2017 16:32

Hi all. Just wondered, did any of you apply for the clear blue opk kit trial they posted on here recently?

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 11/07/2017 17:46

I did foniks but not heard anything yet. Vaguely remember they said it might take a while to reply though

ladydolly · 11/07/2017 18:21

I'm in it. They came back to me straight away but I got a message today saying the trial is delayed until next week. I get the impression the study is for an app rather than traditional opks.

HazelRah · 11/07/2017 20:19

Thanks guys will try that. Too late for this month but fingers crossed I somehow got the right date!! Good luck everyone Star

Bethan2 · 11/07/2017 21:21

Hi all! Hope you are all keeping well 😊. Think we missed our fertile window this month after getting visited by the Norovirus! Nooooooooo 😔 x

KashyKash · 11/07/2017 21:44

My usual pre-AF spotting has started this evening so looks like I'm out this month. The only month I didn't have spotting before AF was when I was pregnant with ds. Although I'll still spend the next two days convincing myself that it might be implantation bleeding. So disappointing 😢

SquashyMummy · 11/07/2017 22:18

It's very reassuring to hear that others are having the same emotions about work due to TTC. Suddenly I've got quite restless when nothing has really changed.

I'm on CD35 now and still no sign of AF. Got a BFN yesterday and there doesn't seem much point wasting another test as I have no symptoms. In limbo.....

user1489606775 · 11/07/2017 22:53

I got my + this evening further to my query this morning... Thank you for all your positive vibes... keep the faith ladies... I began loosing my faith 🤞🏻
