Anyone ttc baby #2 in July?

Hi all,
Anyone ttc number 2?!

I know lots of you are so I thought I'd see if anyone in same boat wants to chat on a new thread?!

I chat to some lovely ladies on the monthly ttc buses....I know some are ttc their first baby (some with real difficulties like MC, or just for a long time) and I feel so bad to be worrying about conceiving #2 when I already have a lovely little one tucked up in his bed upstairs, when I'm sure they'd love to be in that position. (Not that they'd ever say anything or show any resentment, as they're all lovely and just as supportive whether people are trying for 1st or 5th!!!)

It is a bit different though, different emotions... grateful for what you have but longing to be a mummy again... and different challenges (trying to fit in dtd when you have a little person sabotaging your efforts and popping up to demand a drink/teddy/phantom tummy ache, I swear he has a radar for it!)

So I just wondered if anyone wanted to chat who's in same boat ttc #2, as it can also be hard when you desperately want to have another baby, to give your others a sibling, and it's seemingly not happening...

I'm ttc#2 (ds just turned 3)
Age 36
Cycle 5 (af just ending). Feeling disappointed but hopeful ...

Good luck all ttc whatever number you're on!

Congratulations Silver! So exciting!!

This is from ages ago (only just getting time to read back....), but regarding working and leaving lo: I find it really really hard sometimes, even though my son loves nursery and literally runs off without looking back when I drop him off! I work full time long days, leaving the house at 6.40am and not back til 6.50pm. I feel I rarely see ds in the week. I get jealous that his grandparents get to spend more time with him than me (they have him 2 days a week). I love spending time with him at weekends as it reminds me of mat leave, especially when it's just me and him. It can be hard work but I love it.

My plan was to go part time after having another, so that I still get the benefits of full time mat pay beforehand. Not sure how long I am going to have to wait though with the way things are going....not sure I can tolerate this job for much longer full time; feel like I am wasting my life and missing my son growing up. But then if I quit or go part time earlier, my mat leave (if I ever get pregnant) will be nothing or minimal. It's a really tricky one. Not sure we could afford for me to go part time yet anyway.

I'm on cd12 now and getting lots of ewcm and symptoms of ovulation, though it is quite early for me. May be another month of earlier ovulation....? We bd day 9 and 11 so far (not my initiation but his - yay!). Hope we can keep it up!!

I read that ewcm is such an important sign and a really good one to go by for when to bd. One of the things that's makes it harder to get pregnant as you get older, I read, is less ewcm. So it reduces your fertile window, for example: a woman in her 20s has around 6 fertile days; 30s around 3 fertile days; and 40s maybe one. I know there are loads of other important factors like age and quality of eggs etc but this is one. That's why preseed (which I haven't tried yet but will buy for next month I think) is so good. It can help the sperm to survive inside you for long enough to meet the egg, effectively increasing your fertile window and reducing the effect of maternal age. Wish I could remember where I read this.....but it does make sense.

I'm off to bed, good luck to all those due to test soon and in the tww xxx

SquashyMummy · 07/07/2017 23:12

Congrats silver

That sounds very promising Mother , fingers crossed!

Lopey glad I'm not the only one finding being away at work increasingly hard. I do at least work much nearer home than I used to so my day away from him is in theory max 7.45 till 5.45, however I sometimes don't see him in the mornings if I go swimming. I feel guilty even for some well needed execise!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 07/07/2017 23:12

silver my dd has just turned 17m.
mother my fingers are well and truly crossed.. goodluck to 1000 and tiramisu too xx

🍀🍀🍀🍀Goodluck Everyone 🍀🍀🍀🍀

BlueeSpottyTiger · 07/07/2017 23:16

squashy lopey i hate being at work knowing my dd is at home and i only do 22hours over 4 days of 6hr shifts and a 4hour. My commute is only a 5min drive aswell. I really feel for mums who work alot or long days.. after this baby i hope to go down to 16hours if dp is happy for me to do so. I do love working though.. i could pnever not work.

1000jobstodo · 08/07/2017 04:46

I'm desperately not trying to get my hopes up after laying in bed for an extra hour to make urine more concentrated Confused. I think this might be a line. Does it look grey though and therefore evap? I'm not sure I held test downwards enough.

Sorry about the old towel. Oh I hope if it is a line, it isn't another chemical.. Shouldn't it be stronger on a Frer at 13dpo?

Oh I don't know what to think. It's too hot.
Honestly, if you think it's an evap will you let me know please? I'll just try and go back to sleep for an hour until dd is up.
Ps sorry for my tired ramblings Grin

That ain't no evap 1000! That's clear as day! Congratulations!!

So woke up and my boobs are still really sore. And temp still in the 37s. But bfn... sigh...

Silversun83 · 08/07/2017 07:17

Congratulations 1000!! That is definitely a positive! It looks stronger than mine did yesterday!

Thanks again everyone. Cariad wishing you lots of luck for the the later this month but hoping that yours invoke the law of the sod as mine did last time.

Lopey, that is really really interesting about EWCM and fertile days.. I just thought that everyone had the same amount of fertile days per month. This month I wasn't tracking ovulation with OPKs and just DTD on two days I had EWCM.

How many DPO are you Mother? Is it just too early?

Silversun83 · 08/07/2017 07:18

Definitely darker this morning...

HazelRah · 08/07/2017 07:26

Wow 1000! Congrats! Wow so many BFPs on this thread!
I'm feeling v sad today because it's day 17 and still no ov. I'm confused because yesterday there was a weak line on an opk and today nothing. And no ewcm this month either. Very sad it might be an anovulatory month :'-( :'-(

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 08/07/2017 07:52

Sad I hope it's not, Hazel.

Congrats 1000 - definitely not an evap!

Cariad2017 · 08/07/2017 08:09

Congratulations 1000 - that is definitely a line. I shall be keeping everything crossed that you have a very uneventful 8 months from here on in.

Loving the much darker line this morning Silver. You are definitely upduffed! Thank you for the well wishes - I would definitely LOVE to invoke the law of sod this month, goodness knows, we've been trying for what feels like an eternity right now! Xxxxx

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 08/07/2017 08:21

Congrats on all the BFPs! I'm officially out as AF is here with a vengeance. Knew it was a bit unlikely to happen this month, but still quite sad all the same. Never mind, next FW is better timing, so here's hoping

Cariad2017 · 08/07/2017 08:34

Sorry to hear that Tiramisu. I really hope next month is THE month. In the meantime, I hope you manage a nice relaxing weekend with lots of Wine and Cake. Xxx

MynameisJune · 08/07/2017 08:36

Congratulations Silver that's a definite darker line 😊

1000 it's a very faint line but it's definitely there! Could you have ov'd a bit later than you thought?

Hazel I'm so sorry you're struggling, I've not had a single positive on an opk until this month when I started taking Agnus Castus, I had loads more EWCM and a positive on an OPK for the first time ever. I know lots of people who have tried AC and have conceived.

Big hugs to all the BFN's and AF arrivals ❤️

BlueeSpottyTiger · 08/07/2017 09:11

Aww im so pleased for you 1000 great news congrats!! 🎉
silver yay! Definitely darker 🤗
So sorry to hear that tiramisu . it's so destroying when af arrives
Sorry for bfn mother your not out until the witch is about
hazel you've had no positive yet but have yoy had any lines atall? And possibly missed a positive? How many opks do you do a day? I used to do 4 like every 3-4 hours apart from when i was in work

Xx

Impatientmummy36 · 08/07/2017 09:29

Congrats 1000 !!!!!

So sorry everyone else with af/bfns this morn xx

I'm on day 31 (usually 29 days like clockwork) and yet still bfn even with a frer and fmu!! Wtf?!?!

1000jobstodo · 08/07/2017 11:00

Sorry to hear of the bfn's. I really hope next month is the month for you all. Keep us all updated!

I just can't feel hopeful just yet. I'm so grateful for the faint line but it's not as dark as it should be and last time I was around 5 days late for af with the chemical, so I'm going to feel uneasy for a bit. It's possible I ovulated a few days later, yes. I wasn't using opk's but watched Ovia and my symptoms like a hawk. Here's to a sticky one this time! I'll try another test on Monday. Or possibly tomorrow. Probably tomorrow..

Big hugs to everyone, and to those who will have a nice glass of wine tonight. It's so so difficult and all consuming. Last night my dh and I chatted about old times and nothing about this morning/testing and I realised just how much energy and emotions are tied into trying.. I think about it all the bloody time.

Positive vibes going to everyone. Hope you all have a lovely weekend Smile

MotherofBoy · 08/07/2017 11:11

silver I don't know. My opk suggests I ovulated on cd13 or CD14 which would make me 10/11 dpo. But my temp shows ovulation as CD12 which would make me 12 dpo. But CD12 not possible as my positive opk was at 9pm so couldn't possibly have ovulated before my high temp on cd13 at 5.30am. Who knows... boobs feeling less sore now...

SquashyMummy · 08/07/2017 12:08

Congrats 1000

Those of you who check cervix and cm regularly, what would you expect just before period is due? I'd previously only checked cm further down iyswim but had a rummage this morning and there was creamy white cm close to the cervix, is that a good sign? Cervix seemed closed and hard, but no idea if high or low because I don't have a reference point.

Nubian9454 · 08/07/2017 12:32

Congrats 1000. Defo a line!Smile

Sorry about Bfn and arrivals if AfAngry

I am ready to try again and ...well go through all the emotions of the tww. Baby dust x

Foniks · 08/07/2017 13:51

Congratulations 1000!!!

I think this is a lucky thread. Lots of positives already!

Fingers crossed for the rest of us now.

Has anybody heard of these lubricants that are supposed to help? So called "sperm friendly lubricants" some come with an applicator that you're supposed to try and put onto your cervix. From reading, I think it just helps in the way egg white type of discharge does in that it helps sperm travel a little better.
Not entirely convinced but I initially heard about it on mn and then read reviews for various brands online.
I might try it. Not expensive, so will be a cheap mistake if I have no luck.

Nubian9454 · 08/07/2017 14:06

Foniks I would recommend preseed. I will start using it this cycle. I used it with my first born and conceived in the 2nd month of trying. I also know few of my friends who used it and fell pregnant quickly. It's a bit pricey. It's not an aid to get pregnant but merely creates a friendly environment for the sperm to travel in. I literally just bought preseed from Amazon. Anything to help with getting that bfp! Baby dust xx

BlueeSpottyTiger · 08/07/2017 15:10

foniks i used 'conceive plus' on cycle 3 and conceived... (had cp) had non left for cycle 4 and used it again on cycle 5 (now 4 week pg) so i had a 100% sucess rate with it 😁 I just used one of dd's old calpol syringes to insert it but i only did that on the day of ovulation.
Its sold in Lloyds pharmacy.. i deffo reccomend xx

Foniks · 08/07/2017 18:24

Thanks both. Have just put some into my Amazon basket ready for my next delivery.

Amazon actually sells both of the ones you both recommended, and a few more. If my af comes, I'll try it on my next cycle.

Grin calpol syringe Grin

Hope your af stays away Fonik. Baby dust x
