Anyone ttc baby #2 in July?

Impatientmummy36 · 11/06/2017 20:45

Hi all,
Anyone ttc number 2?!

I know lots of you are so I thought I'd see if anyone in same boat wants to chat on a new thread?!

I chat to some lovely ladies on the monthly ttc buses....I know some are ttc their first baby (some with real difficulties like MC, or just for a long time) and I feel so bad to be worrying about conceiving #2 when I already have a lovely little one tucked up in his bed upstairs, when I'm sure they'd love to be in that position. (Not that they'd ever say anything or show any resentment, as they're all lovely and just as supportive whether people are trying for 1st or 5th!!!)

It is a bit different though, different emotions... grateful for what you have but longing to be a mummy again... and different challenges (trying to fit in dtd when you have a little person sabotaging your efforts and popping up to demand a drink/teddy/phantom tummy ache, I swear he has a radar for it!)

So I just wondered if anyone wanted to chat who's in same boat ttc #2, as it can also be hard when you desperately want to have another baby, to give your others a sibling, and it's seemingly not happening...

I'm ttc#2 (ds just turned 3)
Age 36
Cycle 5 (af just ending). Feeling disappointed but hopeful ...

Good luck all ttc whatever number you're on!

X

Sorry about all the bfns guys. I know how heartbreaking it is. :'-(
I'm on cycle 6 now praying for it to work this month but CD 16 and don't even seem to have ovulated yet so god knows what's going on.
I went to the docs and told him about my short luteal phase and he said it was impossible and every woman has 14 days between ov and af. I said I didn't think that was true and he said "well I guess you think you know more than all my years at medical school then". Oh dear. So either he is wrong or my opks are wrong. God knows. :-(

Those trying to get help from the docs... Can't you just lie about how long you have been trying? 😎

HazelRah · 07/07/2017 08:18

Also yes DTD on demand is so tricky! I try not to mention the opk but if he's not in the mood and I admit it he feels like I'm just using him for his sperm... Which I totally am! 😂 I read someone else who said that they just got him to do it in a pot and then used a calpol syringe to inseminate and that was the month of bfp!!! Tempted... Not sure I could convince him though...

SquashyMummy · 07/07/2017 08:18

Same here Mother Tiramisu 1000jobs - did another test this morning with FMU. I'm due on Sunday. Oh well, I'll start using OPKs next month, was trying to delay doing so.
At least it's a Friday and will def be allowing myself some Wine later!

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 07/07/2017 08:20

impatientmummy I feel similarly about wishing I'd started earlier. I wasn't ready to have a baby for various reasons until I was about 30, but DH decided he wanted to get married first and didn't propose until I was 32. He didn't tell me that at the time and in my heart of hearts I am a little cross he didn't admit that because I would have got married earlier (I wasn't bothered about getting married). I love DS and things would have been different if we'd started earlier, but I was conscious of being the oldest mum in my NCT group. Still a friend of mine fell pregnant ridiculously quickly with her second at 38 and a lot of the younger mums in the NCT group took much longer than me to get pregnant, so am keeping the faith

KashyKash · 07/07/2017 08:47

I've been offline for a few days and so much has happened! Sorry to those with BFNs and congrats to the BFPs.
I'm currently on CD23 so right in the middle of 2ww madness, due a week tomorrow. I've been sleeping really badly this week, waking up loads from 2-3am and having very strange dreams. Convincing myself that this is a symptom as I slept badly in my first pregnancy. Has anyone else had this in the 2ww?

Silversun83 · 07/07/2017 11:37

Hazel.. I know some GPs don't think there is anything wrong with short luteal phases but to say that every women has 14 days between ovulation and AF is just plain wrong! Have you tried temping? That would at least give you more concrete evidence as to when you ovulate..

Squashy, sorry for another BFN.. Enjoy your Wine and weekend Smile

Tiramisu.. Remind me what cycle you're on and how long it took to conceive your DS? Definitely good to remain positive... Age is obviously one factor, but there are so many others and a whole lot of randomness thrown in for good measure. A friend of a friend took 16 months to conceive her first and got pregnant first try for her second.. A slightly smaller gap than they were expecting I think Grin But there's so much we don't understand about fertility.

Kashy... Hope the rest of your 2WW doesn't go too slowly.. I've been sleeping badly too but I think that's been because it's been so hot! Oh and DD having an aversion to sleep.. Though has slept 12 hours straight probably half the nights this week! (But not last night Sad Brew) I think she is going through the 2-1 nap transition at the moment. One nap is not quite enough for her not to be really tired in the day (though sleeps all night!) but two means she doesn't want to go to bed and has more of a disrupted night! How old were others' DCs when they went down to one nap?

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 07/07/2017 12:46

Thanks silversun - I fell pregnant with DS very quickly - think it was actually first cycle of properly trying (Xmas holidays had a lot to answer for!). This is our second cycle, but not as much opportunity to dtd with DS and DH being v stressed / tired at work. I'm just panicking because if it could happen now / next cycle, that would work well as my contract finishes in March next year.

Re naps, DS was always a terrible napper, but he was down to one nap by the time I went back to work, so 11-12 months old?

Silversun83 · 07/07/2017 12:59

Erm.. It's very faint (and seems shifted to the left?) but I think there might be a line? It's so so much fainter than my lines with DD though so that's probably not a good sign? Little bit in shock at the moment.. DD was the result of 12 cycles of DTD almost every fertile day... This was two attempts on first cycle when I thought I might be ovulating..

Anyone ttc baby #2 in July?
Silversun83 · 07/07/2017 13:02

Thanks tiramisu.. DD is 13 1/2 months so think we might bite the bullet soon and more regularly get her to have one nap.

HazelRah · 07/07/2017 13:08

Wow congratulations Silversun! That's so exciting!! 😄

BlueeSpottyTiger · 07/07/2017 13:19

Eeeek! silver that's very exciting. How many dpo are you now?
A line is a line. No two pregnancies are the same. So a big fat congratulations xx

Silversun83 · 07/07/2017 13:35

Thanks Blue... I'm really not sure to be honest! I think I might have ovulated either CD 13 or 14 which would make me either 11 or 12 DPO.. As you can see from the photo I previously uploaded of DD's 11DPO line, it was much darker! Though I guess this was midday wee rather than FMU. And I guess it's true what you say.. If this does stick, my symptoms have already been soooo different. All I had with DD was sharp cramping.. I've already had heartburn, fever, chills, sore throat, headache, night sweats, dizziness.. I hope in that case that I don't get the horrendous 24/7 nausea I had with DD for about 25 weeks..

How are you doing?

BlueeSpottyTiger · 07/07/2017 14:11

Oh wow thats alot of symptoms! Eek!
Have you got another for tomorrow fmu?
I've only had a few waves of nausea and headaches so far.. with dd i had HG and was sick from 4+5 to 7/8months ish. Relentless!
I'm good thankyou 🤗 come and join is on the antenatal thread xx

Nubian9454 · 07/07/2017 14:57

Congrats silverSmile so exciting!

Impatientmummy36 · 07/07/2017 15:51

Congratulations silver that's definitely a line! It wasn't the ice Cream then! x

Thanks to all I was chatting to about GPs and tests last night/this morn- I managed to get seen this morn and he's booked me in for tests at 21 days (ovulation and hormone tests I think.)

The first GP fobbed me off when I suggested it, this time it was one of the practice partners so maybe he had the authority to override their '12 months of trying' rule!

So if anyone's not happy with the advice they've had, maybe ask for second opinion or be more pushy, you may get a different response 2nd time...

It's something anyway, might put my mind at rest or else at least the balls rolling now in case there is something not quite right

Xx

Fantastic, Silver, congratulations!!

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 07/07/2017 17:00

Yay silver! Congratulations. Smile

MotherofBoy · 07/07/2017 18:32

Hell yes silver!

So my boobs have been hurting all day today. Like actually hurting. Like I've been running all day. Too much to hope my estimation at ovulation was out so I'm actually 9dpo today hence the bfn? They seriously do hurt. Was pretty much my only symptom with DS Hmm

HazelRah · 07/07/2017 19:19

I really hope so MotherOfBoy! Fingers and toes crossed!

Silversun83 · 07/07/2017 19:33

Thank you all Smile Still a bit in shock and a bit anxious about how faint the line is but have another FRER which I'll use in the morning.

Oh, hope you don't suffer as much this time Blue.. How old is your DD? Thank you.. Will give it a few days and then have a wander into the antenatal clubs..

Ah, really glad you've had more success at the doctor's Impatientmummy.. As you say, you'll probably feel a lot better knowing you're doing something to rule out any problems or worst case, on the ball early if there are.

Mother.. Ooh, keeping my fingers crossed for you. It sounds promising. Especially if it's only started in the past few days.. I used to get boob pain straight after ovulation, but then it would disappear a few days before AF. Boob pain starting a few days before AF is a much better sign.

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 07/07/2017 19:45

Congrats silver and fingers crossed for mother. I've had sore tingly boobs for a bit now and I think I might have implantation bleeding. It's not like my normal AF and I have very similar bleeding with DS. So slightly renewed hope and now waiting until Sunday to test again.

KashyKash · 07/07/2017 20:54

That's brilliant Silver, congratulations 😀

1000jobstodo · 07/07/2017 21:21

This is brilliant Silver! Great news, we were going to be poas buddies tomorrow but neither of us lasted to 13dpo Blush that's really good news. If you do another test, do update us!

Cariad2017 · 07/07/2017 22:02

Amazing news Silver. I am absolutely over the moon for you! What fabulous news! Wishing you a very dull eight months ahead.

Sending enormous hugs to all those who have experienced BFNs. It is so utterly gutting, whether you're on cycle 2 or 10. I can totally identify with those who feel that they couldn't have done more. We've nailed our timings over the past 8 cycles, and it's really tough when it doesn't get you anywhere.

Great news that your GP has agreed to run some tests Impatient. It feels good to get the ball rolling. We'll be getting our results on 24 July (which should tie in with the arrival of my next AF)... I shall keep you posted. Xxx

MotherofBoy · 07/07/2017 22:10

Ooooh crossing fingers tiramisu!

Man my boobs hurt. They haven't hurt all month until today and have gradually got worse all day. Was so good to take my bra off! I've had the odd twinge before but this is proper ow if I lean against something/poke them. Don't want to get hopes up, obvs, will see what temp is tomorrow and if high still will test again...
