Anyone ttc baby #2 in July?

Hi all,
Anyone ttc number 2?!

I know lots of you are so I thought I'd see if anyone in same boat wants to chat on a new thread?!

I chat to some lovely ladies on the monthly ttc buses....I know some are ttc their first baby (some with real difficulties like MC, or just for a long time) and I feel so bad to be worrying about conceiving #2 when I already have a lovely little one tucked up in his bed upstairs, when I'm sure they'd love to be in that position. (Not that they'd ever say anything or show any resentment, as they're all lovely and just as supportive whether people are trying for 1st or 5th!!!)

It is a bit different though, different emotions... grateful for what you have but longing to be a mummy again... and different challenges (trying to fit in dtd when you have a little person sabotaging your efforts and popping up to demand a drink/teddy/phantom tummy ache, I swear he has a radar for it!)

So I just wondered if anyone wanted to chat who's in same boat ttc #2, as it can also be hard when you desperately want to have another baby, to give your others a sibling, and it's seemingly not happening...

I'm ttc#2 (ds just turned 3)
Age 36
Cycle 5 (af just ending). Feeling disappointed but hopeful ...

Good luck all ttc whatever number you're on!

We'll be starting to TTC #2 later this month :) I'm 29, and DD is almost 2. I'm still BF, DD is just getting the hang of mostly sleeping through, and my libido seems to slowly be reappearing.... we just feel ready now.

Last time took 6 months. Hoping it will be quicker this time, but I know it likely won't be.

I want to stay relaxed about it so think, for me, I will avoid tracking ovulation etc as it's likely to make me overthink it all. Does anyone have any tips of what you're doing to help things along though? Vitamins, drinking more water, etc?

Sorry to hear those who've suffered MC's Flowers

Ola,
Can i Join? ( i haven't yet read all posts, but i see some loses on here- so sorry to hear) Round 2 for me an hubby, we already have a son who is almost 7, swore blind i was never going there again but my son desperately needs some company. i'm not too worried about the age gap, my boy will get involved with babies right up to adults, he is so adaptable and would be an awesome big brother.

i came off the pill in December 2016 just before Christmas, and have only had 2 periods since - first taking 2 months to get here, 2nd 38 days and am now on CD 70 something. I decided to try and balance out my hormones by taking Vitex and Dong Quai, EPO, and Red Raspberry tea.... i got my first positive OPK on Saturday just gone after using vitex and Dong Quai for just 7 days.. so hopeful things will result in either a BFP (lots of BD) or AF will start to get on track. currently approx 3-4 DPO .

xx

FallenSkies · 15/06/2017 14:42

Hi everyone, can I join you please? I have a dd who is 3 and we have been trying since October. Our dd was a pleasant surprise so I naively thought it would be easy again this time. Desperately hoping July is our month.
Sending good luck wishes to you all

Unicorn22 · 15/06/2017 16:40

Hello how Is everyone today? And hello to everyone that has just joined! Currently on CD30 and BFN for me today, but I have no idea when period is due given DD still loves breastfeeding at night and period only came back last month... I feel a bit cheated as we made more effort to dtd ( well really mainly I made more effort as I'm the tired one!)

motherofboy your DS sounds like a dream. My DD wakes up if a mouse sneezes 10 streets away! Hope AF didn't get you?

impatientmummy I should be grateful that DD is not at the age where she can come out of her room while dtd!

jackmarshall I have a 7 year age gap with my brother and remember how protected I felt having such a big brother who would look after me!

JackMarshall2 · 15/06/2017 16:58

Unicorn22 thank you, thats really comforting to hear. Baby dust for the next cycle if indeed you are out this month xx

Hi all! Welcome to newbies. Hello blue!

Af finally started about an hour ago but f me the cramps are bad. Officially on cycle 5 now I suppose...

Fishandthechips · 15/06/2017 19:22

Hello,
Is it OK if I join? Since starting ttc it's all my brain can think about so maybe writing it down will help.
Ttc- no2 (16 month old ds)
Age- 24
About to start cycle 2.
Currently due my period tomorrow and pretty certain I'm not pregnant. Getting the typical af stomach cramps as I type.

Bethan2 · 15/06/2017 19:59

Hi all, can I join? TTC number 2. My son is 9 months old and looking for a small gap for various reasons (mostly financial, so I can go back to work quicker).

Sorry I struggle with the acronyms on here, but came off my birth control in April and want to try and get my cycle back to normal before TTC ideally around September (but I know you can't plan these things 😔). Managed to conceive my son after 4 months last time, so hoping it will happen quickly, especially as I turn the dreaded 3-5 in a couple of months 😯.

Nice to chat to others in the same boat x

Foniks · 16/06/2017 01:05

Can I join too?

Just started trying for #2. 1st is 14 months. I had an EMCS last time, so that worries me slightly.

JackMarshall2 · 16/06/2017 07:35

Morning ladies...

FONIKS....your post stuck out as i ended up having a section after 3 days in labour and i failed to progress, i believe my induction at 37 weeks didnt help. Anyhoo, getting pregnant again worried me for a while, my labour experience traumatised me but I've done tons of resesrch and all being well I'll be attempting a VBAC. What's your worry if you don't mind me asking?

BETHAN2... i came of BC in December hoping to be all sorted by May, i too never thought I'd have any issues as it only took 2 months with my son. I'm glad i stopped when i did. I've been taking natural herbs to give my body a kick start, i believe its working!

Sorry using phone and it doesn't allow me put names in bold.

Bethan2 · 16/06/2017 08:38

Cheers JackM, nice to see someone else in the same boat! Yes we thought we'd come off really early and give my cycles time to try and get back to normal... Saying that though, my last 2 periods have been ridiculously heavy, waaaay more than normal... Has anyone else had this? I had 2 normal periods in terms of cramps and heaviness of flow, one normal flow but more painful than usual and the last two much heavier flow 😯. Anyone else had seriously weird periods post-partum / bfeeding? X

Foniks · 16/06/2017 11:04

JackMarshall i was the same as you with the failed induction. I went home after 6 rounds didn't work and went into labour myself a few days later

I think I'm just worried because of the whole experience in general, nothing specific. Most of the midwives were lovely, but the consultants weren't. Everything about the experience was just horrible. I know birth isn't always the nicest, but it was the worst thing I'd experienced. Some of it was understandable, like when after a c section some people are separated from their babies for a while. I didn't see mine for half a day and then she was in special care while I was on another ward for a few days.
I'm just so scared of all that happening again. A midwife told me its not unlikely and that it's my own fault anyway because I should have had a c section from the start. It wasn't my fault, baby was just in distress during labour.

Have also been told how much extra risk there is in pregnancies after c section, and that you need extra monitoring etc.

Plus I made a formal complaint after about some other things and will probably have to see some of those people again this time! That won't be awkward at all haha.

Foniks · 16/06/2017 11:05

Wow. That was really long! Sorry. I didn't even realise while I was typing it. Confused

JackMarshall2 · 16/06/2017 23:00

Foniks Not long at all, thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had a tough time, which wasn't helped but people who felt its there given right to make people feel bad about the choices they make or for things that is beyond a mothers control. i believe you have different kind of doctors/hospitals.. some that are text book and that's it, and will say for their own convenience and for the stats that "once a c section always a c section" and then there are others who take your notes and check the reason for having a CS in the first place and work with the facts to make an informed decision as to whether you'd be a good candidate for a vaginal birth. i learnt a lot about inductions and how they can have a negative effect for most. it was my doctor who advised me that i could attempt a VBAC; that i wasn't to be put off having another child. The hospital that i will deliver at (hopefully if i get pregnant again) are very Pro VBAC they monitor using a wireless fetal monitor so i'd be mobile to keep labour progressing, i'd have to do this drug free as epidurals can slow progress down, so i'll be hiring a doula and she will be in my ear encouraging till that baby comes!! i was awake for my section and the right side was not fully numb from the epidural .... i felt most of what they were doing..... i'll say no more. I guess we always hear the bad things more than the good. i have 3 friends that went on to have multiple vaginal births after their CS. I have hope for us all. xx

bethan2 not had much of AF but i can say mine have been very sluggish- not as painful and have gone from a 7 day bleed to a 4/5 day and lighter than it was before.. not sure how long that will last though.

fishandthechips did you get your AF?

lorrimay · 17/06/2017 07:20

I've been off the pill for a few months now but this is our first month trying. Only dtd once so need to try tonight again. Af is due in 2 weeks but will be on the wait then.

I've never paid attention to my body before in terms of what symptoms I get and when so I'm finding I've decided to make a note as I go along for future reference. Like past two days I've got back pain and cramps as of af is about to come even though it's 2 weeks off and I've never noticed that before.

Foniks · 17/06/2017 12:22

Jack thank you, your post gave me a lot of hope. The hospital I will probably be using is quite pro c sections too, so I know what you mean. They did have a lot of deaths, so I know they're doing it out of fear of that happening again sometimes, but they just push it too much.
I'll be following your lead and stand firm in my choices.

AF is due next week, and don't think I'm pregnant yet. According to my tracker, I'll have high chances in a couple of weeks. So fingers crossed.
Does anybody else use any of those trackers/fertility calculators, if so, which ones do you all use?
Here's hoping for lots of positive results next month for us all!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 17/06/2017 23:22

Welcome new ladies!
Did anyone have p.e (pre-eclampsia) last time?
I'm really worried about developing it again in future pregnancies, i had to be induced and was advised i couldn't have a w.b..boo!

YouCantArgueWithStupid · 18/06/2017 00:09

Can I please join? DD is 22 months and had DH been on board we would've been trying ASAP after her but I think he needed some time to recover from what was an awful pregnancy.

I'm in my 2ww from today cycle one and I'm 30

Foniks · 18/06/2017 00:41

Bluee I didn't, but was high risk for it. I took part in a medical trial for it though, taking double the amount of aspirin that people are usually told to take. Towards the very end it was looking likely, was just off the mark, so the aspirin possibly helped? Maybe...or maybe I was just lucky? If you want to look it up, or speak to your midwife about it, it was aspre doing the trials. Some women were given placebos, some aspirin. Worth taking a look at either way. The trial only ended at the end of 2016 though.

Hi YouCantArgue Good luck!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 18/06/2017 20:46

foniks oh wow! That's good. Yeah.. I'll definitely ask that if/when i get pregnant. Thanks Smile x

Goodluck youcant Grin

Impatientmummy36 · 18/06/2017 21:16

Hi, how's everyone doing? Must be a few people in fertile window now?!

Well for the first time I'm NOT using my cb ovulation kit this month. I'm at a family thing staying in someone else's house and couldn't face tiptoeing around first thing in the morning with a cup of wee and a stick!

So I'm going off Ovia and the fact OV is always day 13-15... but still feeling a bit worried I'm going to miss it! Home tomorrow so we have 5 days of dtd and hope we get the right day.

Actually though this is the most relaxed I've been about it since we started trying 5 months ago so maybe it's the way fwd... ? X

I'm in fertile week, due to ovulate on Friday when DP is out, I'm out Saturday, he's also away wednesday so fingers crossed for winning dtd on Thursday (when dp is home late, hopefully not too tired)!

dingdongdigeridoo · 18/06/2017 21:28

I'll join! I'm out for this month as AF has just arrived, so I guess it means more of the waiting game. Was convinced it was happening this month as I thought I had implantation bleeding at 10dpo. Nope!

Shouldn't be watching A Handmaiden's Tale right now. It's a weird story when you're TTCing.
