I hope I did ok with the title (thanks for the inspiration Emwithme). I felt a bit lost without a thread to post on so I thought I'd have a bash at it.

Just reading through some of the posts from yesterday and I totally agree about the anxiety and uncertainty being so hard. I desperately wanted to be pregnant again immediately but was so scared before AF came last week just in case I was and it would go wrong again. I feel a bit better now, but I think the week before AF is due was even harder now than when we were TTC in the first place. I was much worded in terms of symptom spotting etc. I hope it does get easier when(if?) I get a BFP again. I am now feeling really ambivalent about it and have found myself thinking that we shouldn't try again just in case (we will, despite the fear).

On a more positive note, I did parkrun this morning for the first time since i found out I was pregnant, and I'm pretty sure I managed a PB. So I'm feeling pretty good that my body is doing something right today!

I hope everyone's weekend is a bit better than yesterday seemed to be

lookatthemoon · 06/05/2017 11:27

Well done on the pb Unicorn! I've moved overseas to somewhere that doesn't have a parkrun and it is one of the things I am really missing! Which is silly, but it was something to focus on during some dark weeks and did make me feel like my body was working again.

DancingUnicorn · 06/05/2017 11:28

Yes! Well done on the running hometown!

Sorry guys about all the negativity last night guys. One of those days. Today will definitely involve a drink or two today. OH and I are excited about getting on with things. When it happens for us, he will have all the excitement and calmness and certainty. More than enough for both of us.

Bring on the weekend. Hope everyone is feeling better today. ❤️

DancingUnicorn · 06/05/2017 11:29

Look maybe you could be the founder of a local one where you are now! (Though sounds like waaaay too much effort for me!)

lookatthemoon · 06/05/2017 12:46

Oh no - way too much effort for me too Dancing. It's a small community so was just excited to find a couple of people to run with!

Glad you are feeling excited about getting on with TTC. DH and I had a similar chat about getting back to being excited about trying for another baby. Granted, this is the first month I would say excitement outweighs anxiety/panic/sadness. It's a nice feeling - I hope it lasts!

TurquoiseDress · 06/05/2017 13:56

How are well all doing today?
Am CD26 and started spotting late yesterday, still a bit more today.

Unusual for me as I'm normally regularly 29 day cycle and not due til Wednesday (CD30)

Have never really done much in the way of symptom spotting despite being on cycle 10.

Had never ever heard of implantation bleeding til I came on the conception board last July, but have been googling lots about it this morning!!

TurquoiseDress · 06/05/2017 14:01

Normally get a bit of spotting the day before period starts- so shouldn't be til CD29

Or maybe I'm having a shorter cycle this month!

AmyL88 · 06/05/2017 15:16

@Turquiose I didn't really think much to implantation bleeding before however when i fell pregnant i did actually have slight spotting a week before AF was due. Not sure if this was it or not but its deffo 'a thing'.

I did an OPK test today on cd 23 and got the strongest bloody positive ever so this has completely thrown me!!! Going to get down to business tonight to make sure i have covered all bases..! Christ knows whats going on.

Anna2006 · 06/05/2017 15:31

Can I ask you ladies if any of you have noticed a change in your periods since mc?

I used to get 4 days of AF all which I used tampons on. Heavy first couple of days and then tapering off.

Since my mc, my first cycle was heavy an then I had a normal one. But the last 3/4 cycles have been particularly short. Only bleeding what I call proper flow for like 2 day max. Then 3rd or 4th day spotting an thats about it.

I'm a bit concerned it means my lining isn't building up enough for egg to implant. Does anyone else have short or light periods?

conkerchops · 06/05/2017 16:19

Well done on the pb @hometown - I got my fastest mile this week and it does feel good to know your body is responding and working as it should! With the genetic testing that showed the trisomy the consultant said same thing - I should feel reassured that my body knew pregnancy was not compatible with life - am starting to see that and stopping being angry with my body for letting me down which I really was with both mmc!
I have just realised our next chance for ttc coincides with my mum being here for ds birthday!!!! Will have to be v v quiet ttc!!!!!!
I had some g free peroni last night - was v v fab and delicious! (I'm coeliac and haven't had beer for 11 years so was v v exciting for me!) and as just coming to end of af was safe!
My cycles were shorter post first mmc and this one has been only 3 days of proper flow! Also never had pre period spotting before mmc but get this now - all v strange!

emwithme · 06/05/2017 22:31

My periods are shorter (used to be 6 - 7 days, now 4 - 5) and lighter post MMC. I did have to use a mooncup and a pad on day 2, they were that heavy (but always have been so as long as I take an iron supplement the doctors weren't concerned) but the past couple have been fine with mooncup only (which is great!).

According to my app, I'm due to ovulate next weekend so I'm planning on jumping DH tonight if he stops pissing me off about how long I've just spent in the bath then Monday and Wednesday, and every day Friday - Monday next week. Hopefully that should cover the whole FP. I know when I ovulate (get copious amounts of EWCM but also can feel it happen, it's like a twangy-pop on whatever side sometimes both but we're not mentioning that although twins would be EXCELLENT ) so if it happens outside that timeframe I'll just keep on shagging Grin

It is so annoying to keep seeing names that I remember from the October thread on here, but knowing that there are other people feeling the same as I do makes it a little easier.

DancingUnicorn · 06/05/2017 23:26

Anna I would say my normal pre mc would be day 1 heavy, day two medium, day 3 v. light, day 4 spotting/nothing. Only one day of very heavy. My first one post mc has been heavier, but same general pattern overall.

Get on it em! ;)

Eastend2015 · 06/05/2017 23:28

Hi all, just starting TTC for no2 after an EP and MMC, then third time lucky with my DS who now 10m old. Wishing you all our luck but also looking for some support as we start our journey again. Still BF 3-4 times per day so not expecting it to be quick!

BertieBotts · 07/05/2017 01:51

Ooh good job on the thread starting :)

Just marking my place. I'm on CD8 so hopefully starting fertile week any time now.

Ekphrasis · 07/05/2017 08:46

anna before I had my ds my periods were barely noticeable and I conceived ds right away with no issues. After they came back (delay of 2 years as I was bf yeay!) they were noticeably heavier and have been since. I'm on first af since - it's a bit more clotty but quite normal to recent years I feel. Also given you're supposed to be more fertile in the 6 mo post mc I'd say there's not an issue.

Juancornetto · 07/05/2017 08:57

I got fed up of waiting for my Internet cheapies to arrive and md tested on a CB digi this morning. Still showing as 3+ a week after the miscarriage so I'm guessing it'll be a while before I get a bfn and can start Opk'ing
Daft question but does hcg completely suppress your cycle? So would the process only start once hcg has gone and then ov about 2weeks later?

Anna2006 · 07/05/2017 09:01

Ok thanks girls. It's hard not to stress isn't it about it all. Dancing my AF used to be exactly how yours was. I just seem to have lost one of the days. It starts an on that day and the next day I need super tampons an then it disappears to very light spotting.

Oh well if @ekphrasis fell with barely noticale periods it must be okay generally. Far too much to worry about these days. I'm not sure the "more fertile for 6 months after mc" related to me. 🙈 I'm 7 months post mc and the more fertile business is bollocks. We fell straight away and we've had no luck so far 😰😰 so don't feel that pressure ladies. It isn't true for everybody an in actual fact I suspect a lot of peoples bodies are just not ready yet. My hormones went through the mill for at least 2-3 months cos my acne was terrible. I'm hoping now last 3 months seem more settled it will happen really soon and there isn't anything wrong since mc!

Miami81 · 07/05/2017 09:17

Juan
In terms of hcg, mine after first mc was still showing up on ic after 3 weeks, then I had a massive headache one day the hcg was gone (I just knew, it was weird I just felt absolutely no hint of being pregnant anymore) and I o'ed a few days later. It can be weeks later for some people though.
Anna
Cycles - mine used to be super heavy before any mc's. heavy and clotty and sore and long (6 days). First few after mc were super heavy for a couple of days and then hardly anything, I decided it might be because my cervix had been open for mc when it probably hadn't been ever open much before (other then small bit for af?) and that it all just came out in a rush.
Have been doing acupuncture consistently since second mc and recent af before I fell was not painful, cranberry red, with no clots and lasted for 4 days, I described it to my acupuncture lady and she said that sounded like about right to her. I was freaking out that my lining wouldn't be thick enough, seems ok so far Smile

DancingUnicorn · 07/05/2017 09:19

Juan obviously not speaking medically... I was still testing positive after I was sure I felt ovulation pain. AF came around two weeks after the pain I felt, so I still think it was that. Though obviously could be other things etc. I tried googling, but most people said it wasn't possible while there is still hcg in the system... So still don't really know what to think.

Anna hopefully it happens quickly for you now. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be trying so long afterwards. I have all my hopes pinned on this first cycle... which I realise is dangerous!!

Juancornetto · 07/05/2017 09:20

anna before I had Dd my periods were really light. I don't think it's a problem, sorry it's taking so long but I think average is about 5 months so you're not far off that.

Anna2006 · 07/05/2017 10:13

@Miami81 yes that's what I've been thinking it seems to rush out in a massive whoosh over 2 days and then does nothing. Maybe because we've used them important muscles. My body worked hard to mc!

Who knows. Nurse said 2 day periods can be normal an it's more important on the amount you bleed. An if I was fillin 4-5 super tampons it must be fine I presume. Still worried though!

@dancingunicorn it's been awfully hard. I deffo thought oh I'll be pregnant with 3 months ish. Never did I think would I get to due date or pass it. That go to show how ignorant I was.

Think I didn't understand the impact the mc had on my body and my mental state along with the stress affectin DH etc. It's been a tough run. I'm really hoping it does happen soon. An we dont keep creeping to that 12 month mark which freaks me out.

I ordered DH some male fertility supplements. An I'm trying lots of things like reflexology etc!

lookatthemoon · 07/05/2017 11:00

Juan - not necessarily. After mc I ovulated 2/3 days after I got a bfn. Am certain I ovulated as I got a bfp about 10 days later (ended up being a chem/early mc). So it doesn't necessarily have to be 2 weeks after hcg leaves your system. Hormones are all over the place so anything can happen. My obst had told me not to expect to O for weeks though ...

yellowfrontdoor · 07/05/2017 12:21

I had an ERPC & stopped bleeding after 4 days. So would my hcg be at zero once the bleeding had finished?
It's all so confusing!

BertieBotts · 07/05/2017 12:48

No not necessarily. If you're not being offered blood tests to see the hCG level falling you can take a pregnancy test.

I ovulated early after my two but some people find they have a normal cycle, or a longer one.

BertieBotts · 07/05/2017 12:49

If you temp then you can see after you ovulate that it's happened.
