I hope I did ok with the title (thanks for the inspiration Emwithme). I felt a bit lost without a thread to post on so I thought I'd have a bash at it.

I'm sorry ladies Flowers it's so hard to keep the cycle going; ttc and then nada or mc. Before my mc, i had begun to go potty testing and calculating. I've returned to it but don't feel as manic I must say, an enforced two months not ttc has really helped me. A short but sunny holiday at the start, just after my mc really helped too. Sort of drew a line beneath things. My pregnancy/ mc feels a life time ago but was only the start April. It was enforced as I wanted hormones to settle (on thyroxine) and vitamins to kick in a bit more. I'm 40 so I had been feeling really pressured to conceive asap. The pressure has gone somehow - I think I'm more relaxed generally. I don't know if it's worth having a break month occasionally?

BertieBotts · 11/06/2017 00:09

emvy don't do it if you're going to worry about the result. They are notoriously unreliable.

Elk definitely, but I wouldn't use contraception on the "off" month as it seems pointless (to me!) :) we've had a few break months here and there and I think it's helped.

Double that happened to us... first time with DC1, first time with miscarriage 1, month 3 with miscarriage 2, and then, well, that was last July Confused

I don't feel worried about it as I feel positive that it will happen again for us but it's confusing for sure.

DancingUnicorn · 11/06/2017 08:21

My temping has been ruining by some virus. Ft thinks I'm 3dpo, which is pretty early and would suggest a 22/23 day cycle in which I missed fw because I was ill. Gr. (usually 26 pre mc, 25 first month post mc)

Sooo who the hell knows. But hopefully it will mean I'm less stressed and can hold out to test!

TeaAndPjs · 11/06/2017 17:38

Congratulations emvy

I've not really posted as starting to think I'm not going to ttc but part of me thinks that's fear of history repeating itself!

Angliski · 11/06/2017 19:48

@ daisy - dear heart - I haven't experienced stullbirth but a very good friend has. She recommended the book - a perfect replica of a figment of my imagination- a true story by another lady who lost a son full term. Hugs from all of us

Angliski · 11/06/2017 19:49

@ -"angliski hq I am 16days post iui and bfn but also no af. Not sure what to do. Han come off cyclogest to see if that starts af. Confused .

Angliski · 11/06/2017 19:52

@stuck how was it? Did you see regan? She's nice.

NoCatsHere · 11/06/2017 20:01

emvy now that's a line! I'm so happy that it's got darker. Stay here, we will happily hand hold with you.

anne welcome back! So glad you had a great holiday, sounds perfect. Not just the weather but that hopefully you timed ov right too. Keeping everything crossed for you.

lime I felt like that about being pleased to see my pg lines getting fainter. I did a diggie after 2 weeks and it said 1-2 weeks then I left it one more week and another diggie and this time a big fat not pregnant. Period came one week later, which I thought was odd, but who knows what goes on after a mc. We all seem to be so different!

juan I too have entered the HT stage!

Elk I too am 5dpo and getting twitchy. Convinced myself I am due to achy flu like feelings and a bloated tummy...will test fri as I'm going out that eve so want to know if I can drink wine or not...

northernlass81 · 11/06/2017 20:58

Hi Ladies. Please can I join your lovely bunch? I had a MMC at 12 week and went for medical management just 2 weeks ago. The baby had stopped developing at 8 weeks. The bleeding has just about stopped but still testing positive. This was my second pregnancy. I have a 2 year old boy but had a weird feeling all along this time that something wasn't right; it's fuuny how you just know. I was devastated when it was confirmed and it's all those future plans and dreams that get shattered. I'm keen to TTC again. Not sure whether to wait for af first or not.

TurquoiseDress · 11/06/2017 21:21

@northernlass81

Hi there and welcome to the club- I'm so sorry that you find yourself on here Flowers

I was in the same place as you last summer- in fact the "anniversary" of that dreadful dating scan has just gone by for me and I have found it very tough.

At the time I was 12+6 and it's so true that all your dreams & plans get shattered all in one go. I had medical management too- negative PT after 3 weeks or so.

My then 2 year old will be 3.5 in a few months time and I am a year older (yikes!).

We didn't wait for first AF, just got on with TTC once bleeding stopped/negative PT.

We're now coming up to 1 year of TTC and I won't lie, it's been a very painful journey mainly due to no whiff of a pregnancy since we started last July.

I had never been on the conception/fertility threads before until my MMC happened.

This thread has been amazing for venting my anger & frustration and feeling like I can let it all out here!

Anyhow, take things easy and go with how you feel- there are no rules re when you should TTC again.

I hope you don't have to spend too long on here!

Doublechocolatetiffin · 11/06/2017 22:42

northernlass welcome, I'm so sorry about your loss. It's a lovely group here though. I started ttc as soon as I got a negative test. If you feel ready then there is no reason why not.

I've just had a lovely weekend away with my DH. Nice to spend some quality time together and enjoy some nice food and wine. Trying to focus on being more positive and less stressed about DTD every single day. Not sure what is happening with my cycles as I'd started getting high fetility readings on the clearblue opks, but then the stupid thing malfunctioned this morning and I used an ic when I got home and nada, not even a hint at a line Hmm confusing. Not massively impressed with the expensive tests so far.

Northernlass so sorry you find yourself here. Great group though.

I also had that feeling something wasn't right. Even though I miscarried at 9 weeks (one twin going before other), I deleted the "baby centre" app off my phone waaaay before then. I think I just knew. I stopped thinking about my baby in terms of size! I remember getting excited last pregnancy "oooh it's the size of a grape now!". I refused to think about the future.i kept saying "if it turns out ok". I think sometimes you just know!

NoCatsHere · 12/06/2017 10:47

northen sorry your on here but this group is such a nice place to be. Everyone is so supportive. Personally I would ttc as soon as you feel ready after the pg. test says neg. I got a neg 3 weeks after my medical management. So if you want to wait a while do but equally if you want to start then do. They only like you to wait because it makes it easier to date you but it's up to you.

double your weekend sounds lovely, so great you had a nice time indulging in yummy things. But sorry the tests are giving you confusing results that's crap.

NoCatsHere · 12/06/2017 13:15

Just on amazon buying preg tests so I can fix my peeing on things urge.... Sound the HT alarm!

Angliski · 12/06/2017 14:34

@northern - welcome - my story very similar to you. I am building a website called missedmiscarriage.com

I am 17 days post iui. Testing bfn. But no af and doesn't feel like it's on it's way. Not sure what to do. Came off cyclogest on Friday in case that was delaying it. Anyone got any experience to share on this?

TeaAndPjs · 12/06/2017 15:10

northernlass im same as you, tho i was 10/11 weeks and baby had stopped developing at 6 both times (yep happened twice in 6 months) i didnt wait for af to start ttc again tho im waiting (sort of) tjis time as meeting woth genetics specialist as last 2 of 4 MCs were caused by trisomy16

Angliski · 12/06/2017 16:02

It's a shitty boat and at least we are all in it together.

TeaAndPjs · 12/06/2017 16:49

angliski totally agrer

northernlass81 · 12/06/2017 19:55

Ah thanks for all the lovely messages. I already feel so welcome and must admit to having a little cry! Just done another test and still a squinter positive - how weird is it actually wishing for a negative. I think we'll just get on with it as soon as it is definitely negative. I've read a bit back through the thread and so sorry to everyone else in this rubbish situation. Congratulations to the BFPs along the way x

emvy · 12/06/2017 20:04

Northern sorry you're here. As others have said, it's full of great people to help get you through Flowers

Lime, it's interesting you say about the week's counter thing and it almost being an intuition. I feel the same about this pregnancy Sad I'm really hoping it's anxiety and not intuition.

Good luck with your website Angliski, you'll have to link us when you're done!

hometownunicorn · 12/06/2017 20:24

northern welcome, and sorry for your loss. It is weird waiting for the negative. I think I managed to be happy and excited at knowing it was over and burst into tears at the loss all at the same time when I finally got one. All the emotions in one minute!

emvy I've just seen your positive. Congrats! But, I can understand the caution. I hope this pregnancy does work out.

nocats step away from amazon!!!

I'm on holiday next week and AF is due midway through. Don't know whether to take a test, optimistically, or just plenty of tampons, pessimistically. Either way the timing is annoying as AF would be irritating while we're away, and if I'm late I'll start worrying about what I'm eating and whether or not to have a beer. TTC just seems to affect everything!

NoCatsHere · 12/06/2017 20:47

Haha hometown too late. Damn frer's are on their way for Friday. My ovia app puts my period starting Thursday so we will see how I get on.

hometownunicorn · 12/06/2017 22:03

Friday is reasonable nocats. Good luck!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 12/06/2017 22:37

Ugh can't stop testing even though I'm only 5dpo.. come on!!! So impatient

Smurf123 · 13/06/2017 07:14

grumpysquirrel this was me last month... I'm trying so so hard not to test so much this month! I think I'm around similar time as you.
