I hope I did ok with the title (thanks for the inspiration Emwithme). I felt a bit lost without a thread to post on so I thought I'd have a bash at it.

I'm pretty sure I didn't ovulate in the first cycle following my ERPC. I did lots of opks and got nothing close to a positive. I'm now the second cycle and it was completely different: clear positive on the opks for 2 days and ovulation pains.

If I ovulated on weds last week (cd 17) what's the soonest I can test with a frer? I literally can not wait. It's driving me mad. Symptom spotting is all I'm doing - my boobs are sore, but probably because I'm poking them all the bloody time trying to see if they are sore!

Tiffin I ovd on wed too. Testing on Sat... but mostly because I want to know if I can have the odd drink. Won't trust a negative enough to get hammered, but won't feel too bad having one or two. Dh will frown at me, but when it's his body he can decide, and he is not offering solidarity sobriety!!

Anne the waiting is horrible. I never really experienced it before as I was away with work when I conceived last time and didn't think there was any hope I would be pregnant! (And was working a million hours a day!)

Think I'm turning into a bitter old hag. Found out about some maternity cover I'll be doing at work in a bit. I don't mind doing the cover, but feeling really bitter that I won't be on maternity leave at the same time, which would mean I wouldn't be able to do any of this work. And a new pregnancy will be at a significantly less convenient time for work and will leave everyone in the lurch, but I can't bear to wait. I feel like they must be so relieved about the mc as it means I'm able to do the cover and they'll be gutted if I get pregnant again because it's inconvenient. (Which is totally irrational, as they're lovely and were really genuinely sad about what happened to me!!) Sorry, definitely needed to rant!!

Doublechocolatetiffin · 22/05/2017 19:55

Dancing maybe I'll see if I can hold out till Sunday! Then my DH can be there to pick up the pieces if it's a bfn (although I know it'll be early so I won't be too awful hopefully!) I definitely don't want to wait till my period is due given that I have a long cycle! That seems ages away.

How long have you been having reflexology for @Anne?

As i mentioned before i have been going for pranic healing for the large cyst on my ovary..i mean the cyst has gone but whether it went off its own accord or it was the pranic i'll never know. The therapist says she can help with PCOS and getting pregnant so i am tempted to keep going. If nothing else its an hour in a lovely relaxing atmosphere where i can cry/laugh do whatever without freaking OH out! haha!

Just caught up on the thread from today, its been busy. Regards to the ovulation question after MC. I didn't ovulate until 2 weeks ago and had the ERCPC 6th Feb...yes it took that long for my period to return and cycle get back to a reasonable 'normal'. From reading the other replies i realise i am probably the minority there as people do get pregnant straight after the MC...Bollocks to the 'You are more fertile after a MC'...my opinion of course (wink)

AmyL88 · 22/05/2017 20:02

@Doublecholcolate I have a long cycle too....40 days this month! I tried to wait to test until 14 days after positive OPK...ended up testing every day from 11DPO...only for AF to turn up on 15 DPO and spent a shit load on tests....

Sore Boobs are always a good sign though, its so hard not to symptom spot isn't it. I was convinced my nipples were sore...think i was just cold haha x

BertieBotts · 22/05/2017 20:46

I don't think it's true either. At least all the women I've seen on miscarriage/TTC forums who track have found that they did ovulate afterwards. It is also a myth that you're more fertile though. It makes no difference.

I am symptom spotting tonight too, I'm hungry in this really specifically urgent way like I've felt before. I've just eaten half a tub of humous scooped up with two slices of thick German toast?!

I bought some freshly cut pineapple today in order to munch on the core (supposed to help with implantation) but it's SO acidic and my colleague came in halfway through when my mouth was on fire and I couldn't speak Hmm I must have looked like a right idiot!

BertieBotts · 22/05/2017 20:48

I'm testing tomorrow, I'll be 10dpo, it's the earliest I'd do it but I think I'm going to try and use second morning urine with no fluids as it's supposed to be best and I've got to meet DS's teacher stupidly early. I know I'll want my coffee when I get home though... Someone is coming over to pick up some outgrown clothes, so I'm thinking pee first thing (6ish) then go to teacher meeting, come back, avoid coffee, sell clothes, then try and waste another hour or so before squeezing out a wee?? Or should I not go first thing and try to do it when I get back?

(Overthinking as usual.)

AnneLovesGilbert · 22/05/2017 21:59

Fx for you bertie, will be thinking of you!

It might be linked to ovulating later than I think I do, but I've never had a bfp before 13dpo it was 14 last time and I got a (v depressing!) bfn 2 days earlier. People on forums all over the place get them at 8dpo but god knows how.

Your coffee might be even better if you wait? Can't offer much else but someone else will. I'll be around in the morning x

Why is second mu better?

I started when I was pg last autumn amy and carried on till mmc. Had it twice since then to level out after last mc. No luck so far but I enjoy it. Also got crystals under my pillow and baby aspirin in my system. So when the next bfp comes I won't know what if anything helped...

DancingUnicorn · 22/05/2017 22:07

Definitely have fx for you in the morning Bertie. Hope we are on a run!

BertieBotts · 22/05/2017 22:25

Thank you :) No idea why SMU is better, it's something to do with FMU being too dilute?? Weird. But you can't drink anything between FMU and SMU. I do think that sometimes vvv early results will be better later in the day just because of the fact the numbers are so very low to begin with.

I can't live without my coffee so will see how I feel Grin Hmmm this is a good point though, I got BFN at 11dpo and squinter at 14dpo the first time, no clearer until 19dpo, then BFP at 13dpo the second time but hadn't done one any earlier. So 10dpo might be a bit early. I think I have 7 internet cheapies though and I will be good and wait at least 48 hours after if it's negative.

Tigger83 · 23/05/2017 07:46

Morning all I definitely ovulated after mmc I had an ultrasound to check that all was ok after the surgery as I had an infection and the saw the follicle.

I am a bit confused today as I appear to have had 2 peaks. We've covered ourselves over both so fingers crossed. Had ov pain for both peaks but each side. So ovia says I've got 9 days to wait. Going to take up crochet this week I think alongside keeping on top of my garden to keep my mind busy.

Also sorry if this is tmi but over the whole fertile period sex has been more uncomfortable especially feels like my cervix is still sore. I guess it must just be low?

emvy · 23/05/2017 08:16

Morning everyone. You guys were busy on here yesterday! It's tricky with ovulation the month after mc isn't it.. I'm pretty sure I did as had a 30 day cycle but can't be sure!

I've also found things quite tender in that department tigger - like there's pressure on the cervix? It seems worse around ovulation and just before af.

I'm around 5dpo if I go on ewcm as ovulation day as that's all I'm using to track. Really not feeling this our month though for some reason. I already have a night on the town in the diary for day after af begins to perk me up 😂 We're now in 3rd cycle post mc.

BertieBotts · 23/05/2017 08:21

BFN for me but I'm not disheartened as it's still really early days.

I remembered the SMU theory - it's because your kidneys will process your waste overnight to fill the bladder, but after a while the bladder gets full so they can't process any more. When you wee in the morning you're getting the urine from the first 3/4 or so of the night. So an hour or two later you'll be ready to wee again and this will still be concentrated providing you haven't drunk loads of water or coffee, but it will be more recent as it will be from the second half of the night and the morning, so more likely to show stronger hCG.

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/05/2017 10:53

Sorry Bertie, but it's early days as you say. Test again Thursday morning?

Thanks for explaining the SMU theory, it's really interesting, and makes complete sense!

I'm symptom spotting.... Tender boobs, funny taste in my mouth (also have awful sore throat, so could be that!) and slightly jittery buzzed feeling this morning despite only 5 hours sleep. Last night had mad hot flushes, was off my coffee and ending up eating handfuls of dry dusty melba toast.

Also had a long and very vivid dream about being pregnant. Getting a bfp, telling my DH and Mum, starting back on the injections, and having a scan at 6 weeks where we could see a baby wearing mittens Shock

I'm losing my miiiiiiiiinnnndddd....... But I feel pretty perky today. And it was a lovely feeling to get a bfp and only feel happy and excited, not paralysed with fear and anxiety.

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/05/2017 10:57

I know what you mean Tigger, I sometimes get that the days before af. Discomfort rather than pain per se, and it's definitely an angle thing.

Good work on planning a fun night emvy Smile

How are you doing Dancing?

NoCatsHere · 23/05/2017 11:06

I definitely ov after my 1st mc as i fell pregnant that month, but it was a 'natural' mc at 7 weeks, this one which was a mmc with medical management i can't be sure i did as i bled for 3 weeks then nothing for a week then now a period one week later so who knows. Hoping i did ov and we missed it without meaning too as i feel i can try again knowing my body is hopefully back to normal....

sorry bertie hope you get a good result later on this week and it's just early days. God that bit after your fertile period is just the worst to wait. sometimes i feel so far away from ever being pregnant again, i hate wishing time away which is all i'm doing at the minute.

AmyL88 · 23/05/2017 11:18

Morning all, You lot can talk...:-)

Sorry about the BPN @Bertie...there is still plenty of time though.

AF this month is a bitch. Its day 3 and flowing like a bitch . Normally it would of eased up by now...'Normally' nothings bloody normal anymore!

Having a shitty day today, woke up to the horror on the news at what happened in Manchester and my little boy asked me to turn off the news as its too scary, he's 4 years old and it breaks my heart that this is the world we bloody live in.

Best Friend has announced her pregnancy all over FB, to which i just sulked like a jealous cow. I am so happy for them but it hurts so much still and now i know i will actually need medical assistance to get pregnant again its even worse. When i fell pregnant in November she was desperately trying as well and it was almost like a competition. The month i miscarried she caught and its been all we have spoken about since :-( I cant talk about this in RL as she doesn't understand what i have been through. Sorry for the negative rant but i need to do it somewhere. x

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/05/2017 11:33

Let it out Amy xxxx

At least you knew before it was plastered all over fb, though it still depends how people tell you as to how it feels to find out I think. Sorry it's so unbelievably shit. You know you don't have to be brave about it, if it's all too much with her then it's okay to pull back a bit. I'm sure you want to support her but when you're where you are and going through all this crap it's totally normal to have less left in the tank to offer other people. Be gentle with yourself.

The news is awful, I saw it last night and stayed up far too late reading stuff on my phone. Heartbreaking.

Do you mind sharing what the pranic healing involved? I'd love to know more about it.

AmyL88 · 23/05/2017 12:14

Thanks @Anne One of my other close friends has been really supportive and i know she feels bad for me. I mean i dont want to put a damper on her good news but like you said i think i have the right to back off a little. I mean its constant baby names, clothes, prams etc and i just seem to sit with a static smile on my face, slightly glazed over.

Well the pranic healing in a nutshell is clearing out your chakras of negative energy and replacing it with the good. She can help with lots of things apparently, cancer, depression, even broken bones.
The first time she met me she did a 'reading' on me and basically told me all the things wrong, she said my sex chakra is blocked and basically she said your body is out of sync she wasn't surprised i had had a miscarriage. That sounds heartless but it wasn't at all. Alot of people are sceptical regarding these sorts of things and i respect that but i like to keep an open mind...

peachgreen · 23/05/2017 12:14

@Anne That jittery feeling you describe, plus the lack of sleep, has been my only consistent symptom during both my pregnancies... Fingers firmly crossed.

@Amy I totally understand how you feel, the same happened with my two best friends. It's really hard. Take some space if you need to and don't be afraid to tell her that as happy as you are for her, it is difficult for you and sometimes you need to take a break.

yellowfrontdoor · 23/05/2017 12:19

I'm on my 4th day of positive OPK. It's been 6 weeks since my surgery & I haven't had AF. So, MN jury, is this me with a mega ov surge? Saying AF is imminent? Or should I take a pg test?? I had a BFN at the doctors almost two weeks ago? Me & DH have been trying to dtd as regularly as possible

I'm happy for replies telling me I'm losing my mind. SmileConfused

AmyL88 · 23/05/2017 12:40

@yellow take a preg test.....

NoCatsHere · 23/05/2017 12:48

Here is a great place to vent amy and we all know what you're feeling re your friend being pregnant. i agree with the advice about saying you're obviously happy but need to step back every now and then, might make her think a little before she speaks too...

yellow take the pregnancy test, then if positive mega yay, if not at least you can rule it out and it'll be one of the other reasons- ov surge in which case great you are dod regularly and if af is due at least the positive with that is your body is doing its thing. it would be making me lose my mind not knowing what the opks meant!

yellowfrontdoor · 23/05/2017 12:54

If I haven't had AF by the weekend I'll test.

conkerchops · 23/05/2017 13:00

Take a yes @yellow - with my pregnancy last summer that was the first sign - hugely strong opks for days! On day five of positive opk for bfp!
Gosh has been v v busy on here - have just had a
Massive ready through to catch up!
@amy am sure your friend will understand that you need a break. It super sucks - my friend has just come
Over from America for a
Month and she announced she was pregnant for her second before she set off! I am so so happy for her but her due date is this autumn as ours would have been:-( also my hairdresser who had the same due date as me went for her 20week scan yesterday - and that made me v sad as we should have been telling dd and ds if they were having a brother or sister around about now :-(
I had decided I wouldntnsumptom
Spot this month as it drive me bonkers - but have a v tingly left boob like I did with last bfp! Although keep telling myself this is not going to be our month - and need to keep calm! Although ds birthday is this weekend and it would be the most amazing thing to find out we were expecting another little conker that day!
