I hope I did ok with the title (thanks for the inspiration Emwithme). I felt a bit lost without a thread to post on so I thought I'd have a bash at it.

Ditto tiffin. In my head I'm actually thinking I'm 2+3. It's the MOST ridiculous thing, as it's going to break me.

DancingUnicorn · 20/05/2017 09:47

Yeah, grumpy mine went from 117 days (or some crazy high number) and started back with my regular cycles once af appeared. I couldn't see a similar option in clue, which I run simultaneously, so that's still a little confused.

NoCatsHere · 20/05/2017 09:51

Thanks so much for the app info. I might download another and cross reference and drive myself totally bonkers!
It's a bit heavier today and defo red so thinkings it's my period which is 28 days after the medical mc was started so hopefully this is all a good sign...

yellowfrontdoor · 20/05/2017 17:16

TMI alert!

Just went to the loo & noticed what I thought was EWCM. Managed to hold a pee for the length of time it took DH to run to grab my opks!

Does this look like a positive (or very close positive) result? I hadn't bothered to use the opks until after my next period but something made me anyway.
But it means this is my 1st ovulation since my mc on 10th April!
I'm freaking out a little, I'm so hoping my body's back into the swing of it!

Any thoughts?

Hey all hope everyone is doing OK.. miami I'm sorry things are a bit tough I hope you get good news at your scan.
I've been trying to stop obsessing and as such stay off mumsnet and the internet..
Af is due in four days and in trying to prepare myself for it coming. I am trying to tell myself that I'm not pregnant. Truth is I don't know while there is a small chance I could be I doubt it... We are having friends over tonight and I'm thinking it would be nice to have a drink but deep in the back of my head I'm thinking but what if I'm pregnant.. But with 4 days to go and friends arriving in an hour it's kinda too late to do anything about it as I doubt a test would be positive if I did it now even if I was pregnant... Hmm so to drink or not to drink :-/
probably should mention my limit is about 2 drinks on the odd occasion I actually do
I kinda hate that I'm still waiting every month hoping against odds that af won't arrive rather than being relaxed about it and happily surprised if and when in the future I'm late.. I never used to keep a close track of af.. Now I almost have the exact date highlighted in the diary clue app

yellowfrontdoor · 20/05/2017 17:21

A few mins later but within 10 min time frame.

It's a positive right?!

Can't stop looking at it & grinning.

DH & I just high fived my ovaries Grin

Definitely 2 lines in both yellow door!

emvy · 20/05/2017 17:51

Mumsnet was being a pain and not letting me post the other day to say congratulations to peach so - congratulations! Such wonderful news!

Another ovulation question, sorry guys! Before my mc I never tracked my cycle let alone symptoms of ovulation. However, I'm now somewhat desperate to be pregnant again and have begun paying more attention to my body. I'm determined not to head down the opk route as I'm certain that'll result in obsession (I'm already obsessed enough as it is!) and so am just looking for changes in my body. Yesterday I had ewcm - just wondering what you guys do in terms of timing dtd around that. We dtd the day before the ewcm, didn't do ewcm day and will dtd today - is this enough? Should I be dtd on the day of ewcm or does ovulation not happen on that day? Basically what do you guys do because I've read such conflicting things about when ovulation occurs around it (I'm aware I should probably just opk but I'm very stubborn!).

Smurf123 · 20/05/2017 18:29

Hi emvy I can't really help much other than to say I'm with you on the stubbornness not to opk! Grin likewise I believe I'm obsessed enough already!!! Definitely wasn't this way before miscarriages!!

yellowfrontdoor · 20/05/2017 18:43

Personally I use opks because my cycles are very long (up to 50 days) and irregular.
I also tend to ovulate quite early into my cycle & have a long LP.
Opks have helped me discover all of this, just using an app for me didn't work because the app was predicting I was ovulating a week after the OPK was showing positive results. And I can't be relied on to temp properly!
I'm not sure if they make me more uptight though, ttc has made me a neurotic mess anyway!

emvy · 20/05/2017 19:35

Thanks smurf and yellow. To be honest my cycle is still irregular it seems - I had ewcm on day 9 of my cycle last month and it was day 15 this month. My cycles have varied in total length by a couple of days since mc as well so that may explain varying days ewcm is showing itself. It's a slippery slope isn't it! I also don't temp either.

Doublechocolatetiffin · 20/05/2017 19:50

emvy this is the first month really that I've used opks (last month I did a few but didn't get any decent results and I wasn't very consistent with it). I found it really interesting, I think I've been completely misunderstanding what ewcm was. I know for certain when I ovulated this month, 2 positive opks and lots of pain on my eighth side. I had lots of very liquid cm then and what I'd always assumed to be ewcm didn't come until a day or so later. I now think that's the glue like cm that they talk about - mine is just still very clear. Anyway, there is a point, which is that without the opks I wouldn't have known that! I do understand why you want to resist, but even if you just do them for one month you can then track your own body much better! Either that or this month my body has been a bit odd!

Re DTD, I think it's been shown that DTD every other day in your fertile window is as good as every day.

Evening ladies!
Sorry for my long absence/silence. I took a break from too much internet chat on conception because I was going slightly mad...

I realised today that I'm CD 28. My cycles have been erratic recently but often around that length... I have no pg tests in the house but I do have a OPK.

Does this mean anything???!!!

Doublechocolatetiffin · 20/05/2017 20:26

The internet says it might mean that your pregnant!! Can you go and get a pregnancy test to check?

OP posts:
DancingUnicorn · 20/05/2017 20:39

I know people who have been pregnant and had a positive, but I don't think it's always the case... obviously really hope it is the case here, but don't want to get your hopes up!! Fx!!

DancingUnicorn · 20/05/2017 20:42

Oh and emvy. I opked this month and hated it. Ended up in such a stress about everything. How much of that is that this is the first month trying after mc and how much was the opks, I don't know. I don't think I'll be trying it again. But I do have (did anyway!) pretty regular and short cycles. I think it varies, and some people get on really well with it!

Waterfeature · 20/05/2017 21:02

Nipped out, got pg test -- milky white! Ah well...

Smurf123 · 20/05/2017 21:20

I also did a test tonight and reckon I have a slight squinter of a line... I. Probably just imagining it... I'm sure I am...
Will stick to the soft drinks tonight just incase..

Waterfeature · 20/05/2017 21:26

Further searching reveals that you can get a LH surge just before AF -- waaaaah.

Fx for you smurf.

Smurf123 · 20/05/2017 21:26

I can't even see it in a photo which tells you how faint it is.. I think she it's probably just the light I'm looking at it in... It's early anyway I just wanted reassurance it was OK to have a drink Hmm

Waterfeature · 20/05/2017 21:38

I can see it smurf! Congratulations!

emvy · 20/05/2017 21:55

Thanks for the advice surrounding opk's and ewcm. Just interested tiffin - when did your opk's say you ovulated? I also got super liquidy cm 2 days before ewcm. Hopefully dtd every other day will have been enough, thanks again.

Smurf I can see it too! Ahh! I have everything crossed that they get darker - test again tomorrow with fmu!

DancingUnicorn · 20/05/2017 22:03

Smurf I can see a line!! Test again with fmu?!

Water I'm sorry. May just be early though. How long are cycles normally?

NoCatsHere · 20/05/2017 22:16

Those asking about ewcm I'm totally sure on the best moment, but I guess around that time is a good chance.

smurf I can see a tiny line. Fingers crossed fmu gives you a better line. And I don't think you ought to worry about a drink or two. At the very beginning the foetus is contained in its own sac, it only uses the placenta a few weeks down the line so unless you're getting bladdered don't bear yourself up over a drink!
