Re. lube, I also started using Preseed as was told it was fertility friendly. It comes with some random syringe looking things which I just threw out tbh, not heard of the other one but they will say if they are baby friendly I think.
Satsooma dont worry about a HyCoSy, it was over and done with so quickly and didnt hurt it was just an odd sensation with the fluid goes in. I think if there is a blockage or a reason why your tubes arent open it can be sore as they push the fluid through, but if thats the case then its a good thing because it will then open them up for all those eggs to be free to come to the party!
You are also fine to ttc straight after the scan. I had a tummy pain the evening of the day of the scan then was right as rain the next day - we just cracked on with that cycle as normal!

and as much as I know exactly what you mean feeling bad for another birthday without a baby, just think about all those birthdays WITH a baby that you have to come. Once you have the baby you'll look back on all this as just a small period in your life that was rubbish - but worth it in the end. Thats my new mantra and I'm just hoping I'm proven right!
