Thread 27. TTC #1 - we're stressed, we're fed up, we're bitter but I promise this will all be worth it when we're holding our precious babies

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

I think I would too Kerry or maybe cave at 12dpiui as I'm too impatient! I have a good feeling about this for cycle for you but I get that you want to protect your heart. Fx!

skipper amazing news about maternity leave!!! That will be so lovely to have a whole year off with baby. Keep putting yourself first too, don't feel bad about going home at a reasonable time. Also bloody brilliant news about the Peak!!! No point regretting last night, get on it OH now Grin Do you usually ovulate one or two days after a positive/peak? I'm two days after so it did give us that little bit of extra time this cycle. We'll be in the tww together now Grin

sk1pper · 24/03/2017 18:40

I'll probably ovulate tomorrow, we didn't do it yesterday but the three days before we did so not out by any means. And we'll get on it today right away Wink. I'm glad I'm in good company for the 2ww - yay!

Pyjamas81 · 24/03/2017 19:46

I reckon I'm now in the TWW so am right there with you alexia and skipper! Fx for all of us ☺️ I hate grapefruit as well alexia 🤢

DH had a terrible day at work and is in a foul mood, so GOS is out of the question - not bothered though as I'm welcoming the break. He's away tomorrow and Sunday so am going to veg out with some box sets 😊

Finished reading that IVF book - I practically inhaled it - started it on the tube home yesterday and finished it on the tube home tonight (was up quite late reading it ha ha). What a great read. There was a really interesting chapter where the husband was in the wank booth (as he called it ha ha) at the clinic and whatever he tried and however much desperately he wanted it he just couldn't do it - he was basically in there all damn day and just couldn't do it, poor guy! He recommends freezing some sperm as a back up for egg collection day to take the pressure off - having that plan B in place meant he was relaxed enough anyway when it mattered next and didn't need the plan B. DH is reading it next 👍🏼

QuietTime · 24/03/2017 20:14

Just wanted to say thanks for some thought-provoking messages and advice over the past few days - has been really helpful reading other experiences, and getting a sense of what's ahead

Hope you all have lovely weekends, & good luck to the TWW-rs xx

Binkybunny13 · 24/03/2017 23:13

Hey guys, I had a step back as was feeling particularly grumpy and negative. Sorry I've missed so much- have just been trying to catch up...

Amazing news about the SA London but truly awful for your friend. How is she is being so strong?- absolutely heartbreaking and puts things into perspective
*
Miranda and Harriet* congratulations 🎉

Hope you're doing ok miw and kwick

Sorry winging about your results 💐 Great that they're being proactive though, hopefully your BFP is just around the corner

Sorry AF hit so many and there's a lot of bad times out there 💐 kathrino and flash I am so sorry about what has previously happened to you- you are inspirational in the way you have shared something that must have affected you so deeply

Alexia the advice about some counselling seems like a good idea- it does sound like there's a lot of anxiety around performance, which is probably exacerbating everything. It sounds like a really frustrating and emotional situation- you're not broken. Glad things are looking a bit brighter now

Good luck Kerry!

Sorry for those I've missed- so much action in this thread I struggle when catching up!

Hope everyone has nice weekends 👍

miwelaisjacydo · 25/03/2017 06:00

Hi binky am doing ok thanks.
The ivf book sounds good.
Currently wide awake. DH went to work and I currently have the child I do rest bite weekends for staying over.
We are planning a swimming and cinema day which should be super.
Also had a moment last night shre said child did something he had never done before it made me burst with pride. 😁

sk1pper · 25/03/2017 09:24

Pyjamas - I welcome you also to the 2ww! ☺️

Welcome back Binky - how are you feeling? Where are you in your cycle right now?

Londonjam · 25/03/2017 10:43

Fab news about your maternity leave skipper I hope your ovaries / uterus were listening intently. In fact it seems they were - hurrah for peak OPK !

Are you and pyjamas still in the benefit period from the hycosy? I hope your extra clean pipes are giving you both an extra boost this cycle

I'm pulling up a sofa on the TWW with you guys. Am now 6 DPO. Absolutely zero hope or expectations now!

Pyjamas that poor guy in the wank booth. Sounds like a really interesting read.

Hey binky hope you're feeling brighter

That's lovely re your childminding miw

Londonjam · 25/03/2017 10:44

Kwick thinking of you also hope you're doing okay

sk1pper · 25/03/2017 10:53

I've had two complete cycles since the HSG, Pyjamas must be the same. There's still hope I think...

Pyjamas81 · 25/03/2017 12:37

Yep - I'm the same as skipper - fingers crossed! There's always a tiny bit of hope, but I'm not even expecting it anymore, which makes things easier to cope with.

Just totally smashed it at the gym - feel great! Looking forward to some proper solitude this weekend. My job involves me talking pretty much all day long, which is tough for an introvert like me! Need to recharge...

sk1pper · 25/03/2017 14:56

Sounds good Pyjamas! OH and I have had a productive day too, taking up all the rotting chip wood around our vegetable plots, putting new lining down and laying slate instead. I'm always deweeding around those plots and I shouldn't have to. We're thinking ahead to when I'm preggers and unable to manage it.

Pyjamas81 · 25/03/2017 15:26

I would love a vegetable plot skipper - but those pesky London foxes ruin everything! And we're so lazy about gardening we've got fake grass and fake flowers 😂 Looks great all year round though!

sk1pper · 25/03/2017 16:06

Sometimes I like gardening, sometimes I just want to concrete it all. We've only managed a quarter of it today, we're shattered. But hopefully will save time in the long run.

You could always use grow bags if you want to do veg or fruit, they work better than you might think.

Pyjamas81 · 25/03/2017 16:15

Now googling grown bags!

WantingBaby1 · 25/03/2017 19:43

Hello ladies Smile

Hope you don't mind me popping back to post. Some of you might remember me from previous threads back in Aug - November. I got my BFP in November and am now 20 weeks pregnant with a baby girl Smile well I've been doing some spring cleaning and come across 35 ovulation tests that I never used, plus 3 pregnancy tests. All are the really cheapo versions but they worked for me! Wondered if any of you ladies would like them? Reluctant to throw them away, It's silly I know, but if they can help anyone to their BFP that would be wonderful.

Fx for all of you lovely ladies.

sk1pper · 25/03/2017 20:06

Wanting - hey lovely xx Glad it's all going well for you, are you on the grads thread now? I'll pass on the tests but what a lovely offer, I'm sure someone will snap them up.

Just realised why I never go on a Facebook anymore. Baby, baby, baby, cat, baby. Ugh, as happy as I am that people I know and/or used to know are giving birth - really can deal with the envy I get.

Londonjam · 26/03/2017 12:44

Hi girls is anyone else finding today tough? Might have to not open Facebook for the rest of the day. Remember this time last year thinking at least I'll be pregnant or a mum by this time next year 😔

AlexiaB · 26/03/2017 12:56

That's a lovely offer Wanting Smile I'm already stocked up but I hope someone else snaps it up. Can't believe you're 20 weeks already! Congrats on your baby girl.

Yes Jam Sad finding it tough and had the exact same thoughts last year. I'm not even with my mum today because she's at her sister's in Ireland. I'm so glad I deactivated Facebook last year, I feel so much better for it! You and skipper should too if it's making you sad and envious. Your true friends will have your mobile number.

Thanks Binky, agreed. How are things with you? Have you got a follow up appointments soon?

Just drinking my pineapple core, summerfruit, flaxseed/chia seed and spinach smoothie. Thinking of all of us in the tww. Hope this is the last time for some of us all, although not confident about my chances!

OP posts:
miwelaisjacydo · 26/03/2017 15:04

Wow wanting 20 weeks already 😁.

Jam I too have found it hard. I had this plan to give my mum a grandma card for Mother's Day. It's made me feel quite down but it will get better.

I am officially late by two days. I can't test yet. I can know or not know anything because am so scared.

KerryLeanne84 · 26/03/2017 16:32

That smoothie sounds delicious AlexiaB - I'll have to give that a go!

Re pineapple core - how much do you use each time? I dislike pineapple but I'll give it a go!

Thinking of everyone finding mother's day difficult - I'm in the same boat. hugs

AlexiaB · 26/03/2017 17:00

It is delicious Kerry. The summerfruit berries make it very drinkable and are great antioxidants too. I'd never be able to consume it all individually!

I bought a jumbo pineapple and sliced it into thin-ish circular slices. I used two slices today and stole DH's core lol. It's supposed to be 1/5 of a pineapple every day from 1-5dpo but a bit more won't hurt, right? Grin

I've been thinking of you lots Peaches, I hope you're doing well? Xx

Happy Mother's day to kwick and Mouse and to everyone else who has loved and lost, and to those who are mummies in waiting (whether with bump or without) ❤️

OP posts:
Pugmummy87 · 26/03/2017 19:30

Glad to know I'm not the only one hurting about mother's day this year. I should have been around 15-16 weeks now. Sad Facebook is full of posts about feeling #blessed today. Fx that by next year, we will all be there. Happy Mother's Day to all us in waiting.

Wow, wanting that has gone quick. Congratulations! Halfway there now.

Thank you for the advice about what to expect london. Going to write down a list of questions ready for Tuesday. I'm hoping as it's an evening appointment it may not be rushed through.

Your smoothie sounds lovely alexia.

CarleyColie · 26/03/2017 21:09

Glad you and your DH made up Alexia, your DH sounds so lovely! Your smoothie sounds delicious, I may have to dig out my blender..

Congrats on your baby girl wanting! Hope you're keeping well. Would be amazing if someone got a BFP from your unused stock Grin

FX for you Miw, sounds promising but understandable that you're being cautious. Really hope things work out for you!

Sorry to those who found today tough, FX next year is better Flowers

Feeling sooo jealous of those in the TWW, CD17 and still waiting Envy, didn't O until CD23 last month so may have more waiting to do. OPK's have been the same strength all week (negative but clear line) so no idea if O is getting close - had some EWCM tonight so FX! Just hate feeling like we have to HS rather than doing it because we want to.

AlexiaB · 26/03/2017 22:54

Pug I'm so sorry I forgot to name check you earlier. I should have been 14w5d today 💔 I feel your pain hugs Sad If I've learnt anything over this long ass journey - pregnancy will absolutely fly by! Nothing drags more than the TTC struggle. Hopefully next year we'll have our bumps/babies Flowers

Thanks Carley. Yes get that blender out! Great way to start your day. I'm sorry your cycles are quite long atm, I know it feels like such a huge waste of time each month. Keep at it with the OPK's and fx you'll be rewarded soon. Can totally relate to the sex thing, see how DH feels and try to tough it out if you can. You will get there xx
