Thread 27. TTC #1 - we're stressed, we're fed up, we're bitter but I promise this will all be worth it when we're holding our precious babies

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Harriet I have all my fingers crossed for you at your early scan.

Chlo didn't know you had had an ectopic. Me too. Sorry you had to go through it. Did you have surgery or methotrexate?

Sorry for those feeling sad. You are all doing a great job at life and everything, even if it all feels shit.

I am in the pre-OV high of yes, we've HS more than once during FW, I will get pregnant! I don't really believe it and wondering what's going on as it's CD15 and still got loads of EWCM, latest I've ever O'd is CD13.

Flashinthepan · 06/04/2017 12:32

Hi macs nice to see you! Have a great time in Japan!

That reminds me, who is starting the new thread? It needs to be somehow related to low-fat shit and hormonal giraffes.

InspectorPenguin · 06/04/2017 12:39

Have an amazing time Macs!! I'm very envious and would love to be going back.

Enjoy the cherry blossom, plentiful toilets, rapid trains, great food, crazy cities, vending machine overload and beautiful scenery.

See you when you get back and hopefully we'll have a few good news stories to report 😎

sk1pper · 06/04/2017 12:41

Have a good one Macs!!!

Miranda234 · 06/04/2017 12:47

Have a great time in Japan macs!!

Mrsbluebell17 · 06/04/2017 12:57

Have a great time away Macs.
sorry everyone, just trying to catch up.
Harriet I'm 4 weeks and petrified something is going to go wrong Confused

Kathrino · 06/04/2017 13:01

Have a great time macs, can't wait to hear all about it!

SmittenPears · 06/04/2017 13:35

Safe travels macs!!
And I concur about those funny lines, lol!

Muddling through my cycle here. Not sure where I think I am after last month. (Refresher: thought I might be preggo at the end of TWW, turned out I was actually ovulating around CD34) I'm CD20 now, ostensibly heading into TWW but..... your guess is as good as mine! GOS over the weekend and last night.

I really appreciate everyone's perspectives on here; collective wisdom is so helpful during this process. Also, coming on here is the only thing that keeps me NOT talking to OH about TTC all the time. (Though he probably feels it's all the time.....)

So happy for all the BFPs, and sending Flowers to all those having a rough week/cycle/season of life. Cake

Chlo22 · 06/04/2017 13:46

Have an amazing time macs! You'll have a real adventure. I've only been to Tokyo but it's a mind blowing place!

It was years ago flash I was only 21 and had to have surgery. I've always been told it doesn't affect fertility but can't help but wonder. The doctor at the time said it was because I had been wrongly advised to get a coil for contraception and apparently at such a young age it can increase risk of ectopic? Did you have surgery or the medicine?

sk1pper · 06/04/2017 13:53

Alexia - have you disappeared now? Hope you have been put off by the argument...we need your infinite wisdom.

Also Hep - hope you're doing okay.

Flashinthepan · 06/04/2017 13:56

I had surgery and a tube removed. All being well the other tube should pick up the slack about 30 per cent of the time. But as there's no reason they could find, I wonder how well the remaining tube works anyway.

Yes I can't use a coil, or progesterone-only contraception now as both carry an increased risk of ectopic pregnancy and more so now I've already had one.

FX smitten I hope to be joining you in the 2WW in the next day or so.

Chlo22 · 06/04/2017 18:21

Ah that's interesting, they never told me I couldn't use progesterone contraception. I had an hsg done and remaining tube was all ok, although that bloody test was incredibly painful! It seems quite common to have an ectopic unfortunately. If we do go down the ivf route I believe the risk is very very minimal so might be another reason to pursue it. Don't want anything else to go wrong!

Hope everyone's doing ok today

QuietTime · 06/04/2017 19:05

I second skipper - alexia, if you're still reading, come back! I've appreciated hearing your perspective

macs am full on envy - have an amazing time!

smitten cycle sounds a nightmare...hope it settles down, well done keeping up the GOSs Wink

Good luck with the scan Harriet

kath glad I have a TWW buddy, hope flash and smitten join us soon

chlo am definitely looking forward to the weekend :) hope you're all having good evenings

Carley27 · 06/04/2017 19:58

Another one here who doesn't want to see anyone leave this thread. The knowledge and support on this thread is amazing and I thoroughly enjoy hearing different viewpoints and opinions on matters. Flowers

Best of luck for your scan Harriet, hope all goes well.

Have an amazing time in Japan Mac!!

Sorry for those who have had AF or are having a tough time at the minute Flowers

I think I'm 5DPO just now, had spotting 1-4 DPO Hmm I have endometriosis so mid-cycle spotting isn't new but it doesn't exactly make me feel fertile!

Any testers coming up? Been a few BFPs lately, would be fab to get some more!

Kathrino · 06/04/2017 20:24

Totally agree with everyone else - I really value the different view points on here, especially the ones that I don't agree with!

Smitten, I'm totally muddling through this cycle and quite liberating not really knowing where I am (and knowing there's very little chance of a BFP for me). Just enjoying a nice glass of vino because I got more than 5 hours sleep last night and finished work at a reasonable time today!

Londonjam · 06/04/2017 20:58

Skipper I hope you're feeling better today

Flash I'm not offended in the slightest 😂 DH complained that having a wank on the NHS was distinctly shitter than the private wank. No porn on the NHS! Hard times

Good TWW work quiettime keeping busy is key 👍🏼

Kerry 6 years ShockShockShock

Good luck with your appointment tomorrow chlo
*
Macs* have a wonderful time!!

Smitten snap god DH should thank his lucky stars I have Mumsnet !

Alexia hope you're doing okay and fx for testing

I've made it through the week girls which feels like an achievement as most of my life is still in boxes. I feel like self care healthy eating diet exercise relaxation has all gone out of the window with the move so I need to reintroduce myself to Headspace, have a 'detox' get off caffeine and alcohol, get some SLEEP and eat some fruit and vegetables!! Working from home tomorrow so that's a start 👍🏼

Londonjam · 06/04/2017 21:00

I'll happily start a new thread tomorrow when I've got my laptop on and post the list again - if you need a break alexia but please do come back xx

Londonjam · 06/04/2017 21:01

Oh forgot to add that I called up for DH SA results and they said they don't give them out - you have to wait for your appointment which is not until 31 May!! F that for a laugh. I've been calling since for a cancellation but the only one they have DH is out of the country surprise surprise. I am going to know them all by name soon as will be calling x2 per day 😬😬😬

sk1pper · 06/04/2017 21:19

The NHS really don't do themselves any favours do they Jam - they make you go in for everything then wonder why they have humongous waiting lists.

I'm okay, period is heavy and icky like it normally is but no pain thanks to those awesome pain killers.

Chlo22 · 06/04/2017 22:05

Thanks jam, it's early morning so no hanging about which is good. Thats a bloody long wait for an appointment! Pester the life out of them, it's the only way unfortunately!

Gaelach · 07/04/2017 07:01

Hi all you hysterical cucumbers and hormonal giraffes. I'm back after a thread long month long absence to try and clear my head. Congratulations bluebell, delighted for you! Enjoy your trip macs I'm jealous! Sorry about AF sk1pper and anyone else she caught up with.

I'm in Flashy smiley hell. 6 days and counting. Prior to this month I've only ever had a max of 2 high days before my peak. Any insights? I'm panicking about not ovulating this month.

Flashinthepan · 07/04/2017 09:00

Gaelach I'm with you in OV limbo. Have had EWCM for about 6 days, gradually getting more and more everyday, I'm now CD16 and no sign of actually ovulating. Not sure if it's the B50 causing it but just trying to keep HS and hoping eventually something progresses. I keep poking my boobs to see if they hurt as that's a sure sign I've OVd!
