Thread 27. TTC #1 - we're stressed, we're fed up, we're bitter but I promise this will all be worth it when we're holding our precious babies

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Fx for you missy and flash

Your poor friend Jam, how heartbreaking. She sounds a very inspiring lady.
Glad your enjoyed your break away Smile

Sorry it was not the news you expected winging, hope you're doing ok.

Welcome queen

ViSovari · 22/03/2017 12:49

HI all.

I hope everyone's ok. Just wanted to pop in and say I'm still lurking but as nothing's happening and I'm still waiting for my referral I'm in TTC limbo and don't feel I have much productive input to add yet!

fingers crossed things get moving soon!

Good luck to everyone in FW and 2ww. I'm hoping we get some more good news for this thread soon!

WingingIt83 · 22/03/2017 12:52

Thanks all
jam yes you are right no matter how much I've had it at the back of my mind over the past few months, to sit there and have someone tell you you need help is just a but numbing. Really appreciate the offer of an chat, it will definitely help to share the experience with someone.

As for supplements, he's cut out caffeine completely and been taking co-enzyme q10, krill oil, maca, high strength vit c as well as his wellman conception vitamin since end of Jan. So it's only been approx 50 days when I know the sperm cycle is 60-90 so still further improvement which might arise from the supplements.

Also thinking of proxeed but might need to check ingredients aren't crossed over with the others he's already taking.

Kathrino · 22/03/2017 13:30

Winging, I can sympathise - we're generally only about average and then with lower than average morphology. Our consultant seemed relatively positive about our chances of conceiving (I imagine there are lots of people with similar stats who conceive very easily and therefore never know) but I'm hoping to discuss the results with our GP at some point to get an unbiased view. It sounds like your DH is on a good regime though so hopefully that will have some benefits over the next couple of cycles and you won't need that referral at all.

Flashinthepan · 22/03/2017 14:21

This helps none of us but I've been musing on it lately, that once upon a time people got married and had no real way of preventing pregnancy so knew it was a possibility whether they wanted it or not. Which means for those of us for whom it takes longer, it wouldn't have mattered so much, as it might take two years but they weren't really desperate for a baby at the start. Whereas now, everyone waits until they want a baby before they start trying (which is of course sensible for many reasons) but it makes it feel so much worse when it takes a long time.

Flashinthepan · 22/03/2017 14:22

On a lighter note, AIBU has a thread of a woman whose husband only has three pairs of pants! And he thinks it's fine! Eurgh, apologies if anyone else has a hubby who wears his pants for days in a row.

kwick · 22/03/2017 14:53

wing I am glad your GP is being proactive- although I know it must be a shock I still want to slap the face of anyone who tells me I have fertility issues

flash good point, well made. Wish I had never bothered with contraception.

I am going to leg it over to AIBU in a mo!!! But first let me update you on my latest calamity...

Finished meetings early in Brussels so came early to station to try and get on earlier train. Agent could not find my booking - I rang my travel agnecy back in Blighty - they cannot find booking. NO ONE FLIPPING BOOKED ME ON TRAIN. Earliest seat I can get it one I thought I was booked on - over 1 hours from now - been waiting an hour already.
Angry

kwick · 22/03/2017 15:11

Flashinthepan · 22/03/2017 15:14

Ohhhh sorry Kwick! That sucks, how is your leg feeling? Did they give you an ETA re healing etc?

HepKestrel · 22/03/2017 15:28

kwick · 22/03/2017 15:32

4-6 weeks... but I think I will totally be off crutches from next week.
Only another 45 minutes until my train...

HepKestrel · 22/03/2017 15:40

Just to distract you kwick:

2 parrots on a perch. One says to the other : "can you smell fish?"

HepKestrel · 22/03/2017 15:40

2 fish in a tank, One says to the other: "I hope you know how to drive this thing"

Queen0ffaff · 22/03/2017 15:42

This thread moves quickly!

Thanks everyone, you welcoming lot Smile

Sorry for the BFN and general ongoing undertainty, Missy and Flash. Fx for you, though - and at the least for an end to the limbo soon.

Macs, I felt very similarly about a friend's new baby recently. It's just a double whammy of feeling envious then feeling awful for it - I think it is so normal, though. I was dreading meeting the baby and my feelings showing, but when I met her she was just such a gorgeous little bundle that just didn't feel that way any more. Hopefully that will be the way for you, but even if it's not, I think totally understandable and nothing to beat yourself up about at all.

Pyjamas, I will be joining you there soon! Don't know about you, but I don't mind the being 36 itself, it's more just that I definitely thought we would have (or be on our way to having) a baby by then...

I hope the referral does seem like a good step (if not exactly the news you wanted) when it sinks in, Winging.

Kwick, your journey puts my two hour delay at Waterloo in perspective - will stop being quite so moany about it, now! Hope the rest of the journey is smooth.

AF arrived here this morning, just one day earlier than expected. Felt a bit shit for a few hours, then spent some time on the commute googling ttc with a retroverted uterus (anyone else?) - that can be this month's project!

kwick · 22/03/2017 16:17

Thanks for trying to cheer me up hep Grin

So the saga continues... made it on to train - very happy with aisle seat and man who helped me get luggae on to train. Then customs officers came along and told all in my area to move as Thalys should not have sold seats! Some very kind soul gave up their seat for me but there will be at least 8 people standing to Paris as I bought the last seat in standard!!!!!

Londonjam · 22/03/2017 16:28

miranda how are you getting on?

vi nice to see you, do you know how much longer you have to wait?

winging sounds like your chap is very much on board which is great. Does he drink much booze? That's been the hardest thing (and source of many arguments) between us. Proxeed is the only thing I've seen endorsed by specialists - and is the only supplement our consultant mentioned FWIW.

flash that's a really good point re contraception. As my friend put it too- there have to be some inbuilt limitations to our fertility as a species - our planet can only hold so many people, and our bodies can only cope with so many pregnancies. Nature has built in some natural contraception I think!

oh kwick what a pita! I can't believe you haven't boozed in that long too. THat is impressive. Glad to hear you are now on train with seat. Don't feel guilty you are injured!

queenoffaff sorry about AF hon. I also have a retroverted uterus! high five

WingingIt83 · 22/03/2017 17:02

jam yes he is on board thankfully, he drinks every night but only 1 beer or glass or two of wine. He does have the odd binge session with mates but hasn't done since Christmas thankfully although with summer round the corner how well that will continue I'm not sure. He does unfortunately have a very stressful job which doesn't help and desperately trying to get him to find a new one at the mo.
