Thread 27. TTC #1 - we're stressed, we're fed up, we're bitter but I promise this will all be worth it when we're holding our precious babies

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Thanks ladies. I know I don't post much on here but I do follow everything, i just sometimes feel the advice is so good from everyone else that there's nothing I could add Smile

Alexia we tried for a more relaxed cycle this time round, I didn't temp or opk so I'm not even sure when I ovulated (I actually thought I hadn't this month as I don't remember having any o pains but I think maybe because I wasn't looking for it I didn't notice?). No idea if it was down to any of this though and DH actually said FW was the most stressed week he's had in a long time because of work.
As for symptoms, I've been really bloated for the last week, had a bad migraine on Tuesday and odd but my forehead has felt really warm!

QuietTime · 17/03/2017 18:53

Eek, exciting Miranda, congrats! Hope all goes well x

kwick · 17/03/2017 19:05

Happy Birthday @Pyjamas81 !!!! 🎉💝🎁

@miwelaisjacydo welcome back

binky what a fcuker

What good news jam I think you should hop to it!!!

Congratulations @Miranda234 !!!! Feels like an age since the last BFP!

I still have dreams at night about being pregnant but awake it all seems so elusive. What if it will not be?

KerryLeanne84 · 17/03/2017 19:21

Congratulations Miranda and happy birthday Pjs!

Alexia - I feel exactly the same way about #2 - which feels silly when who even knows if #1 might come along. Big hugs.

I've started injections for my IUI which help the eggs grow BIG and then to ovulate on schedule for the procedure. I thought I'd be happy to be getting this chance, but the first day I injected I just started crying thinking about all the people who get pregnant without ever having to inject themselves in their leg! Silly I know and I've been fine the past few days. xxx

glitteryvibes · 17/03/2017 19:23

congrats miranda we were due a bfp on here!

jam so happy for SA results, such an improvement.

Sorry about af binky, im out this month, Af started last night, so had an 11day lp with spotting from 9dpo. i started the b50 this month so hoping it just needs extra time to kick in to be effective. need to nail to sex timings this month as have missed at least o-1 every month so far! going to try the smep thingy this month starting from cd 6 as i have shorter cycles now averaging 25 days ( seriously hope this is not an issue) as this combined with my short short periods and pre period spotting doesnt give me a good feeling but im probably just feeling low today. If i conceive this next cycle there would be a high chance it arriving christmas or one of mine or other families christmas time birthdays so maybe this is a good month for conceiving in my familiy!

Kathrino · 17/03/2017 19:23

Congratulations Miranda, such fantastic news!

QuietTime · 17/03/2017 20:03

glittery am also anxious about short cycles and much lighter/shorter periods than in the past...had done some embarrassing lurking before and heard positive stories, so holding onto that unscientific, unrepresentative sample Blush

Kerry that's totally understandable - sounds pretty intense. Hopefully you get to focus on your lovely big eggs soon Grin

Feeling decidedly un-pregnant, so helping myself to a Gin (albeit a lot weaker than usual...) That's probably not the done thing is it. Oh well.

Jam - yay! You were due a break, hope that gives you guys some peace if mind.

Tonks87 · 17/03/2017 20:33

Congratulations Miranda Smile
*
Quiet and Glittery* I had really short and light periods too which used to worry me. The month before my BFP my cycle was 24 days and AF lasted 2 days. I still got my BFP so try not to worry too much.

Jam fab news about the results! Fx the proxeed is the final piece to the puzzle of you conceiving naturally.

Good luck to upcoming testers and those in FW!

SmittenPears · 17/03/2017 20:49

Wonderful SA news, London!!

Congratulations, Miranda! Grin

Hope it was a very happy birthday, Pyjamas81, you deserve a happy day! Cake Cake and of course Cake

AlexiaB · 17/03/2017 21:18

Thanks for sharing Miranda. Keep us posted tomorrow 🤞

Kerry sorry you've been having a hard time Flowers I would focus on that beautiful baby/babies you will get at the end of all this. What meds are you on, is it Gonal F? Are they making you trigger too? I'm intrigued to know your protocol as IUI is something we're considering if we don't get lucky again soon.

kwick sorry you're having such cruel dreams. It will happen for you lovely - you can get pregnant, it's just about finding that one golden egg. Would you try IVF with PGS testing? Or there's always donor embryos as a very last resort. I want this so much for you! Hope you have a relaxing weekend and that your calf is healing up Flowers

Enjoy the Gin Quiet - a few drinks won't do any damage.

DH and I are sharing Ben and Jerry's and having a movie night. Well, I say movie night but it's more crime documentaries 🤓 Happy weekend!

glitteryvibes · 17/03/2017 22:13

thanks quiet and tonks i think Afs arrival just made the medical side of me start looking for things that could be wrong....im forever seeing animals that are accidentally pregnant and stupidly thought this ttc lark would be just as simple for us as it is them!?!

alexia i love both crime documeteries and ben and jerries. also love a good medical documentary- that bbc series about weird medical casebook (i forget what its called) is very interesting. they had people on there who couldnt feel pain, people who can recite every day of their lives with the same accuracy as the average person can recite the last 24 hours, a guy who doesnt get lactate build up when he runs. crazy stuff!!

forgot to say happy birthday in my last post pyjamas hope youve had a lovely day.

sk1pper · 17/03/2017 22:25

Actually had a beer tonight, full alcohol. Need to have a GOS tonight though...ha ha ha, who was asking about keeping sex impulsive? I hate how my life is ruled by this right now.

Flashinthepan · 17/03/2017 23:40

Congratulations Miranda! That is definitely a line. Can't wait to see the frer tomorrow.

Kwick hugs for you. It will happen I really believe that.

I feel pregnant which is awful as deep down I know it's just because I want to be. But spotting today never turned into anything other than a tiny bit of pale brown discharge and boobs are still insanely sore. 10 DPO tomorrow.

harrietm87 · 17/03/2017 23:47

Feel like I shouldn't post as shouldn't dare to hope. I've just done a FRER and think I can see a line? 12dpo today. It was much darker than this at 12dpo last month but had a long haul flight (in Hong Kong) so maybe that messed things up?! Tell me to calm down.

Thread 27. TTC #1 - we're stressed, we're fed up, we're bitter but I promise this will all be worth it when we're holding our precious babies
Kathrino · 17/03/2017 23:52

I can definitely see a line harriet!! So excited for you!

Flashinthepan · 17/03/2017 23:53

It's faint but it's there. Cautious congratulations harriet. Do another one in the morning!

harrietm87 · 18/03/2017 00:54

Yes I am feeling v cautious - haven't had anything like the symptoms I did last month. Fully prepared for another chemical. But also so hoping this one sticks. It is the morning here (8hrs ahead) - will try again in a couple of days and keep you all posted. Omg!

QuietTime · 18/03/2017 06:00

Fx Harriet!

kwick · 18/03/2017 08:45

kerry best of luck with your medicated IUI - my last BFP was with one of those.
At the end of the day it is about having a baby - I don't think the how is that important.

Fanks Alexia. I want this so much for you too Flowers
I think I am open to pretty much everything now - but first step is to get my test results - next Friday - and discuss options with the consultant.

I demand Harriet that you do a FRER with FMU - I can see a line too!!!! StarStarStar

Londonjam · 18/03/2017 09:42

Thanks glittery, sorry AF got you

Quiettime I have the odd drink in the TWW - is it so bad do you think? Do most people abstain?

Skipper we have got the sex regime down - it's only taken 16 cycles ha ha. I basically take my clothes off and am like right let's get on it. Get a lot of eye rolls from DH but he complies!

Fx flash could be BFPs like busses this week and you might be our third

Congrats harriet!!! Fx for a sticky one this time

Best of luck Kerry I'm fascinated too by the process and hope it's successful for you

Kwick will be thinking of you next Friday - what test results are these?

QuietTime · 18/03/2017 09:51

jam nah don't think it's so bad - if someone else was asking, I'd definitely say go ahead, it's fine. What do you guys think? Am a lot more conscious of it than I thought I'd be...need to get a grip Smile

Kaydee2017 · 18/03/2017 09:58

Away this weekend but just popping in to say congrats to Harriet & Miranda!

HepKestrel · 18/03/2017 11:02

Congratulations Harriet lsfx for a sticky bean. AF arrived right on schedule this morning.

KerryLeanne84 · 18/03/2017 11:11

Happy Saturday ladies! Thank you so much for the support Flowers

Harriet - so pleased for you!!

Jam it's definitely not bad to have the odd drink in the 2WW. People in the olden days drank and smoked through their whole pregnancies, so in no way should you beat yourself up about that.

It is gonal f I'm having Alexia - and it is incredibly easy to administer. You get a disposable pen full of the medication with a little clicker for the dose, and you screw on a new needle each time - so you get a tiny sharps box for your house.

As someone used to giving blood and having normal blood tests, the needles are incredibly fine, and I don't usually feel it going in, I just let gravity do the work and then you push down the top of the pen and the numbers count down to 0 so you know the medication has all gone in. I do it in the fleshy bit at the top of my thigh, the other place people do it is in their tummy but I didn't like that idea.

My friend who also had IUI at the same place was successful on her third month and is having her little girl TODAY so I know it can work. Overall the success rates aren't high though, but I need to think positive!

AlexiaB · 18/03/2017 11:16

glittery ooh I'll have to check that out. DH and I are obsessed with "Murder on CCTV" atm. It's crazy!

Yay congratulations Harriet! Fx this is your lovely sticky bean. You are super fertile!!! Grin

Good luck with your results on Fri kwick, do let us know how you get on.

LSFX Flash!

Sorry Hep Sad Flowers
