Thread 27. TTC #1 - we're stressed, we're fed up, we're bitter but I promise this will all be worth it when we're holding our precious babies

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Wishing you a lovely birthday, Pyjamas!

Kittykat89 · 17/03/2017 10:30

Happy birthday!! Wishing everyone luck for their upcoming cycles too xxx

Londonjam · 17/03/2017 10:57

mrsbluebell yes its hard to get a balance I think between talking about it and then not thinking about it too much. I've had a break from here before and didn't find it made much difference in terms of how much I thought about TTC. Personally I think I'd have gone insane if I hadn't had a group of like-minded women going through similar experiences to me to talk to about it. I talk about it to a few close friends IRL but like you I don't want to go on too much. There's only so much they can say - and if they haven't experienced it, its difficult to know what to say.

Happy birthday pyjamas! I hope you have a great day and enjoy your evening out with DH

When is your GP appointment binky? Is this a follow up from your scan?

Still keeping fx for you flash but great idea to have a plan for next month in case

Happy Friday everyone :D

Jam - that's so true, the support on MN is invaluable. Two of my friends know and they have been as supportive as they can be, they've even driven me to tests at lunchtime, but we only talk about it if I initiate the conversation. I don't think they realise just how much it upsets me but I do put on a good face. Apparently one of OHs work colleagues has guessed what's going on, so she sometimes asks him if there is any news. But she's of the generation where all the say is "sometimes these things take time" - I'm more of the generation that's like "yes but why?" I want to know what's wrong with me, then I can try and fix it....it all feels like wasted time right now.

Mrsbluebell17 · 17/03/2017 12:07

Jam - it's nice to hear that I'm not on my own, but it's sad to know there are more people struggling with it. Happy to chat about it all if you want.
Hoping I'll find some positivity again soon.

Mrsbluebell17 · 17/03/2017 12:09

Sk1pper - cross posted there sorry. It's interesting to hear your viewpoint on the different generations. I also think some personalities are like that. My best friend is very much a 'relax, it'll happen' person. And all I can think is 'when?' 'Why not now?' Etc.....

Londonjam · 17/03/2017 13:46

I know what you mean about wasted time skipper :( I'm so determined to not look back on this period of my life and think I wasted all that time being miserable about TTC though! I don't seem to be winning at this, but I have made an effort to keep doing things I enjoy, such as reading a good book or doing my ceramics. Not as fulfilling as becoming a parent, but still activities I enjoy doing. I need to get more of these! I'm hoping that moving house in two weeks will help.

bluebell my best mate is like that too. She's also an obstetrician so she works with delivering babies and fertility related stuff every day. When I said to her I was considering going private she seemed horrified. She said can't we just wait and keep trying naturally and have the NHS route to fall back on? I suppose working in the NHS she will feel defensive of it. I don't know if she would be so willing to wait 9 months to start fertility treatment. Quite obviously - I could actually have a baby in that time!

MissyJones80s · 17/03/2017 14:24

Happy birthday pyjamas

MissyJones80s · 17/03/2017 14:35

Sorry for AF binky and kath Flowers

Friday nearly over hope people have some nice plans for this evening and the weekend!

Oh alexia I found my first white hairs (yes I went straight to white) when I was 20 and this morning I found my first Shock white pube waaaaaaaa

AlexiaB · 17/03/2017 14:38

Happy Birthday pyjamas Cake Hope you have a lovely day.

Music I think it's virtually impossible to conceive on O day, especially if you have sex in the evening. It's worth an extra try if you can manage it though. FXSkip shared the stats that O-2 was best and I've read a lot about it on FF too. I always try hitting O-2, O-1 and then O day if we can but it's usually too late anyway.

Sorry you're struggling Bluebell Flowers

Agree with you both skipper and jam. Why? Why us? Why so hard?. I think you should go private if you can Jam, think your friend is being quite ignorant there.

One of my biggest fears at the moment is TTC #2 for years as well. Not having a proper family with close sibling ages, and being so upset that I don't enjoy baby #1 and what I'll have. I know that's all ridiculous but it's where my mind is at lately.

Just dropping by to say hello to all and Happy Birthday Pyjamas!

I do keep an eye on this thread and miss you lovely women. I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and am counting down the days 'til my first scan.

Hoping to see some more of you on the grads thread very, very soon!

⭐️ xx

Londonjam · 17/03/2017 15:41

Girls I've got the best news. DH just got his most recent SA results back;

264m count
70% motility
96% abnormal forms

So he is now within the normal range! This is a very high count and very high motility.

I don't think I could be any happier apart from getting a BFP!!!

I can HIGHLY recommend proxeed :)

Kathrino · 17/03/2017 16:11

Jam, that's great news! You must be absolutely thrilled. Does that change your plans / diagnosis at all? FX that it won't matter anyway and you'll get your BFP this cycle.

Hope you're having a lovely birthday pyjamas!

I flew back from NYC last night and am absolutely shattered. Haven't had a proper night's sleep for weeks now. We're going to a wedding tomorrow but hoping it will be relatively low key so I can catch up a bit! Lots of good vibes to you all!

Londonjam · 17/03/2017 16:35

kath that test was ordered by our GP; DH has to do another for the hospital. If the results are similar then I don't know if the diagnosis changes - perhaps we switch to unexplained infertility?

I'm not sure if we would then be referred for IVF then, which would be rather frustrating - as the waiting list is so long.

Clearly I would rather we conceive naturally, but I still want the back up option of being on that waiting list in case we don't.

Hope you had a good trip and you can get some rest before the wedding tomorrow!

AlexiaB · 17/03/2017 16:54

That's great news Jam Smile very pleased for you! Fx these improvements mean you can now conceive naturally. Always good to have that IVF backup though I agree.

Great news Jam !

Miranda234 · 17/03/2017 17:24

That's great news Jam! Bet your DH is very pleased too!

Can anyone else see a line here or am I seeing things?? I'm cd 31, last few cycles have been 27/28 days, I went for a run on Tuesday and was useless then had a migraine shortly after. I don't want to get my hopes up but couldn't help but test!! Haven't said anything to DH as I'm not sure if I'm imagining it??

Miranda that's definitely a line! Congratulations you are pregnant!!

Londonjam · 17/03/2017 17:27

Hello starfish glad everything is going well!

sk1pper · 17/03/2017 17:43

Jam - your news is awesome, well done the both of you. Now get shagging!! ;)

Miranda - I see it! Can you get an FRER?

Miranda234 · 17/03/2017 18:09

I won't be able to get a FRER until tomorrow as we're staying at my parents tonight! I've told DH and I think we're both in shock/ don't believe it as we're carrying on as if nothing's changed Grin I'm still waiting for AF to appear any moment...

HepKestrel · 17/03/2017 18:11

congrats miranda

AlexiaB · 17/03/2017 18:13

Congratulations Miranda Grin That's a strong positive on a cheapie. Should be a lovely dark line on the FRER tomorrow! Did you do anything differently this cycle? X
