My ov is definitely getting earlier. I used to ov on cd11 but now it's cd9-10 :-(

Refreshing to read something like this:

Hi
I'm 42 and trying to conceive my 4th after 12 pregnancies and 9 miscarriages (the last two mc's were Feb and march this year).
I'm doing OPK's but just can't tell on them when I am ovulating. The lines are always the same darkness (with fmu) then the same with late afternoon.
I'm posting a pic for your thoughts as time is running out. Hubby is digging heels in about carrying on trying.....😟

Hi Pixie, so sorry for your losses.

The opks don't seem positive yet but looks like they are heading that way. What cd are you on?

Pixie106 · 14/05/2017 10:45

I'm on CD12 but normally ov on day 8 or 9. The one I took this morning is lighter than yesterday morning so I think that I ovulated either Friday or yesterday. If hubby and I dtd tonight, do you think I could still catch if it was those days? Unsure how long I've got as some say that the opk show when you are about to ovulate and that ovulation will take place 24-48 hrs later. So have I missed the boat? Hubby is being stroppy about the whole thing and won't co-operate with the every other day theory. Gotta pick the best time!

Pixie106 · 14/05/2017 11:26

My cervix is also very low but CM is there and watery......sorry if tmi! 😉

Clara101 · 14/05/2017 13:47

Thx for that article Ali!

Pixie, sorry too for your losses good luck for falling soon! I don't know about OPKs but if CM is still wet chances are you're still good for this cycle I think.

Phoenix, how are you? Hope everything went well in DK!

Alibaba2 · 14/05/2017 15:48

This morning's opk looks close to positive Pixie so tonight could be a good time.

Does low cervix mean ov has happened?

I guess nothing to lose in dtd tonight.

Good luck!

I was on this thread last year, age 42 TTC number 2 for 3 years. You ladies have a great support.

I know that this has been mentioned a lot but due to MN suggestion I used Agnus Castus for a month as I hadn't detected ovulation since MMC in December. I missed testing as was away and forgot to take kit but I must have ovulated as yesterday got BFP. Terrified now, of MC, complications or multiples (would love twins but scared too).

My DH started to take supplements including high dosage of Vit D, no idea if either supplement made a difference but wanted to share in case it did.

Alibaba2 · 14/05/2017 20:49

Thanks Fluffy and congrat!!!

Ekphrasis · 14/05/2017 22:09

ali is an earlier ov a problem? Is there anything you can try to lengthen it? That was a good link, thanks!

pixie - I never caught my surge for my son, I did for the first time when pregnant in march (mc). I found that it shows markedly darker than the control line immediately. When dry it's not as noticeable though you can wet them a little to check though not as good as when 'fresh'.

Pixie106 · 15/05/2017 08:24

Ekphrasis I heard that too. My test line is always really faint at first then darkens over the 10 min development time. I've been doing opk for 4 months now and have never had a line darker than the control but did fall pregnant the first and third month. They were both mc's but I am obviously ovulating sometime! It's just frustrating not being able to see it on the tests! 😳

Ekphrasis · 15/05/2017 08:30

Sorry for your loss.

The only time I caught one was when I tested 3 times a day and the day happened to be a day when I wasn't at work. It occurred around 2 pm it was still strong in the evening.

The only other thing you could do is try the clear blue digi stick things, but they're expensive.

PhoenixMama · 15/05/2017 15:19

Hi ladies!

Pixie - I still don't think that looks positive. But I'd dtd tonight to make sure you catch all possibilities.

Fluffy - congrats! Great news!

Well IUI this morning after a few timing panics but I think we got it in under the wire. Lining was "great" and 16million swimmers so just crossing everything it works!

Alibaba2 · 15/05/2017 20:06

Brilliant Phoenix! Fingers crossed!

Ekphrasis · 15/05/2017 21:11

Oooh fluffy, I missed your post!

Congratulations! That's great news!

And you too Phoenix, fingers crossed but sounds great!

Clara101 · 16/05/2017 20:55

Congrats fluffy and everything crossed for you Phoenix!!!

Pixie106 · 17/05/2017 08:31

Think I've just got my surge! So excited (silly I know) but first time I've seen the line be as dark as the control.
Ovulation calendar actually pinpoints today as my ovulation day, strange tho as I'm on day 15!
Wish me luck ladies, guess hubby is going to be busy tonight and for the next few days! 😂

Pixie106 · 17/05/2017 08:32

Photo to show you!

PhoenixMama · 17/05/2017 09:05

Exciting Pixie! Not entirely sure you're quite there yet but I'd dtd for the next 3 days while you keep testing! Good luck! (And have fun!)

Alibaba2 · 17/05/2017 09:38

Are you home now Phoenix? What was the timing panic?

PhoenixMama · 17/05/2017 10:16

I got home last night Smile

So timing issue was that I was expecting to get a peak opk on Sunday (cd12) and then iui Monday morning (cd13). But I randomly did an opk on Sat night at 11pm (cd11) I got peak!!! So ideally I would have had iui the next day (Sun) but when I called the clinic they said there was no one there to book me in & just come in on Monday.

I really had wanted to have the sperm waiting for my egg not the other way round. And when I went in on Monday at 9am I'd definitely ov'd. So it was basically 36 hours after first positive opk.

My concern is if I ov'd say 12 hours after peak test and the egg only lived 12 hours then I'm screwed. I think it's more likely I ov'd 24 hours after peak so the egg was still alive when iui happened. I mean I know I'm working conservatively on the egg only living for 12 hours but as my eggs are older I'd rather they didn't have time to age at all before the sperm attacked.

Ultimately it all happened like I originally predicted so I should be ok but slightly Hmmat clinic not being able to do it on Sunday.

Alibaba2 · 17/05/2017 11:14

Did they scan you on Monday to confirm that you'd ov'd?

Alibaba2 · 17/05/2017 11:27

Did you do any opks on Sunday?

Do you know how long after the surge you normally ov? Are you temping?

Sorry for all the questions! Hope that fertilised egg is making its way to the uterus as we speak!

PhoenixMama · 17/05/2017 12:46

Yeah they scanned me and said I'd def ov'd so that's good. I usually get the peak on day 12 and ov on day 13 but not sure of the exact timing.

I did a pink cb test on Sunday and got a positive so it was still surging then. Just no idea what to think!
