Hi Caluna, I'm sorry I don't know anything abt Ashermans. But I'm wishing you well for recovery. I'm 44 like you and found glimmer of hope in that there are some ladies of 44/45 on the pg thread who fell naturally. Maybe have a read. Are you taking coq10 and pre natal multi vits? Getting ready for when your coil comes out might feel like something positive u can do in interim?

Pies and Ababs, I think you are in same age bracket as us? Join in the glimmer of hope club ;-)

Welsh - sorry I don't know nothing abt reversal so have similar qns as Ali... Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along.

Mack - sorry abt your termination, that must have been extremely tough. It does sound like CPs and good to get the evidence so you can have better conversation with drs. I don't think egg quality can drop off so dramatically as Fuzzy has said previously so there may well be other things you can do. I was also struck by that bit of advice on 40s pg thread ;-).

Violet - good luck this month!

Fuzzy - hope you're ok and still happy w Serum

Thanks for the welcome Smile We can surgical sworn retrieval and then IVF. Of course this adds to cost, and while I will pay it's no guarantee of success. I would be gutted to have no success at all after spending so much money. That's why I'm now thinking at least referrals we can just DTD as much as poss and hopefully I will produce a decent egg!
Of course I realise time is set against me ..... but if we don't try....

Welshmamma · 27/02/2017 17:42

Surgical sperm removal! My phone doesn't like the word sperm lol

PingusMistress · 27/02/2017 22:56

Hi ladies,

I joined the last thread and got some great advice from you all. It must have worked because I got a BFP last week Wink. It was a bit of a surprise as I had assumed it would take longer due to my age (40, with 1 previous DD). I'm rather nervous and anxious about it though as I'm aware that the risks of things going wrong are much higher now. So I'm being cautiously optimistic for now.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for your support and wish you all luck. I'll be lurking for a bit as I'm not quite ready to graduate to the scary pregnancy boards yet! Smile

Welshmamma · 27/02/2017 23:48

Congratulations Pingus xx

Alibaba2 · 28/02/2017 07:05

Congrats Pingus!

Clara101 · 28/02/2017 12:52

Great news Pingus, congrats!! Pls stay on the thread!

Alibaba2 · 01/03/2017 15:27

OV PANIC!

I normally ov on cd11 (today) but no sign. HIGH on my CBFM this morning and temp dip today so hoping I get PEAK tomorrow.

OH away from Fri-Sun so slight panic going on here.

I'm presuming this is following on from suspected CP last month and everything adjusting?

Apologies for short message, am at work.

Hope everyone OK and thank goodness for Mumsnet having its own language!

Clara101 · 01/03/2017 18:53

Hey Ali, I know that feeling it's v frustrating! But maybe actually it will be fine as your O must be coming and its O-1 and O-2 that are especially good....

notparticularlypatient · 01/03/2017 19:03

Hi, I haven't posted on this thread before, but have followed it for quite a while. I am ttc no 3, I have a DS who is 19 from my first marriage, and a DD (17 months) with current partner. We really would like DD to have a sibling close in age. I fell pregnant in November, but sadly had a mmc at about 10 weeks. So not the best start of the new year I have to say. Anyway, I am 40, and we hope we still have some time, but I also try to think that I am very lucky to have DD and DS. Anyway, hope it is ok that I join you!

Ali I had the same - a suspected cp the cycle prior to conceiving DD. That did in fact delay ovulation by a couple of days. On the positive side, we conceived right after.

StickyMouse · 01/03/2017 20:21

Happy St Davids day Welshmamma and other fellow welshies.

I am feeling a bit glum, aged 42, TTC 2nd for nearly 3 years, had a MMC at 13 weeks in December (had healthy scan at 8 weeks), had emrc at 15 weeks, now trying again, have started tracking via Clear blue, currently at day 18 and no surge.

NHS fertility won't see me as had pregnancy and age. Hints and tips gratefully received

StickyMouse · 01/03/2017 20:22

Pingus congratulations! what is your secret to success?

Alibaba2 · 01/03/2017 20:31

Welcome Mouse.

I'm so sorry about your MC. Looking on the positive side, you know you can pg so I'm sure it will happen for you. Upsetting for it to get to 13 weeks though, life can be cruel. Is this your second cycle since the MC? When do you normally ov?

Not sure I'm in a position to give tips but I take: ubiquinol, EPO, B6, D3, Pregnacare, fish oil, vitamin E, baby aspririn, vitamin C. I use the CB dual hormone kit.

Have you had the flashing smiley yet?

Alibaba2 · 01/03/2017 20:35

Welcome Patient!

Sorry about your MC too. Likewise I think it will happen again soon for you.

Thanks for sharing your experience on the CP and delayed ov. I hope it is just a couple of days late otherwise OH won't be here Confused.

Has your cycle settled down since your MC?

Alibaba2 · 01/03/2017 20:38

Thanks Clara. I hope it's coming but I'm not convinced as opk is whiter than white.

I had 2 days of high fertility on CB (have now run out of sticks) and have had ewcm. Could it be that my body geared up to ov but gave up? Although I've had no surge all week, barely a faint line...

How are you?

notparticularlypatient · 02/03/2017 07:42

Thanks, Ali, it's actually nice that someone believe I can get pregnant againSmile I hope it happens for all of us! Hopefully Pingus (congrats!) can lead the way...

If you have cm it's probably just ov that is delayed by a couple of days? Ah, I sympathize with the DH-going-away-situation. I have quite unreliable cycles, and is always nervous about ov falling on a weekend when DP is out of town. next weekend he'll be gone for three days and I'm pretty sure that will be well timed with my FW. The joys of ttc. Hopefully you'll be fine if you make sure to ddt before he leaves.

After the mc, cycles have been rather unpredictable. I don't think I ov during the first, and the second was shorter that I've ever had. I think lp was only 9, maybe 10 days. Usually it's 11. Hope this will sort itself out next cycle, or else my chances of pregnancy look rather glum.

Mouse, sorry about your loss. It must have been particularly hard after trying for a while. Like Ali I take B6, fish oil, vit a and d and ubiqinol. And folic acid of course. I also use the CBFM. As I have varying cycle length, I find it helpful not having to interpret ic opks.

Anyway, sorry for essay, should probably work a bit nowConfused Hope the rest of you are fine, and fx for lots of bfps asap!

PingusMistress · 02/03/2017 09:24

Hi and welcome notparticularlypatient and stickymouse. So sorry to hear about your MMCs. They are so cruel. I had one at 10 weeks before DD and I'm so scared of it happening again. If I make it through a few more weeks I'm going to go for a private scan. Wishing you lots of luck with TTC again.

I don't think I have a secret mouse, I suspect we were just lucky! I use the CBFM and have got pregnant every cycle I've had a peak (didn't always get one). I found out I ovulate quite late, before I got the monitor I think we were DTD at the wrong times. We would be really enthusiastic at the start of the month and then run out of steam and motivation! Grin

Alibaba2 · 02/03/2017 11:13

So still no line on the opk - barely a shadow.

OH due to go away Friday morning until Sunday evening. Or he could change his ticket and go Sat morning until Monday afternoon. Or possibly Sat morning and back Sun afternoon if necessary...

But given that I've not even got a faint second line - maybe it's at least a couple of days off yet or might not happen at all? I normally ov the day of the lh surge so the night before is the best time to dtd.

Clara101 · 02/03/2017 18:00

Welcome patient and mouse. Sorry to hear about your MMCs, that's v tough. I conceived Ds at 41 a few months after mmc at 10 weeks. I hope same will be true for you?

Ali, do you normally get many days ewcm? I only get 1 or 2 so for me EWCM is actually good guide on when to dtd. Hope works out for you..!

Clara101 · 02/03/2017 18:01

Sorry patient and mouse, that was meant to be statement not question!

Alibaba2 · 02/03/2017 20:00

Hi Clara. I get a few days of ewcm but often it goes creamy around ov, funnily enough. I had creamy cm this morning.

I finally got 2 lines on the opk today but not quite positive. Going to test again later. So I'm hoping ov will be tomorrow. (I often stress around the time of ov btw, it's nothing new)!

We are running out of steam on the dtd front (as Pingu put it). Tonight will be third in a row.

Patient, if you're worried about LP, you take some B6 as this helps lengthen the LP. Although I take so many supplements I wonder if they have a detrimental effect as I never had a problem getting pg before I took them.

booox · 02/03/2017 20:17

Sorry for your losses not and mouse. I really do hope your next time works.

A friend who is 40 soon and had 3 mc over the last 2 years (one medically managed) said the best advice given to her was when 'you're older, you need to crack a few more eggs to get a good one.' She conceived first try with her first.

Congratulations pingu!

I have some unexpected news too. I got a bfp this morning at 9 or 10 dpo. My opk was only positive 11 days ago.The earliest my period could come is Saturday so I'm not really believing it yet! I'm not sure why I tested - I'd felt a bit hot and crampy/ swollen. And an egg tasted odd last Tuesday. Confused

(I take thyroxine which needs to be raised when I get a bfp so I do test early)

booox · 02/03/2017 20:19

What I have done differently this time was: take evening primrose till ovulation, I've been taking pregnancy vits for 3 months but also folate.

The ep definitely improved ewcm so thank you for that tip.

booox · 02/03/2017 20:23

mouse, I found it starts with the egg very informative regarding supplements and why.

We were considering starting ubiquinol next cycle if no bfp. If this is chemical I probably will as it take a couple of months to have a good impact.

Folate rather than folic acid is also good to take (you can take both together though). It's another b vitamin; all b vitamins are water soluble and excreted in wee if not needed - hence bright yellow wee.

LeannieRVN · 02/03/2017 21:05

Hi everyone. May I jump on? I'm 40 and TTC1 Cycle 2- a complete newb to all this! I've been doing lots of research and am tracking bbt and OPK with ovia and fertlity friend. I've been on another thread but just found this. As a 40+ myself I'd love to join on.
