Hi Oldschool, it's not mad. Can totally understand it if your kids are grown up and it's good timing if you can fit another one in now. Good luck for this cycle, you're a few days ahead of me (and same age).

Clara, do you temp? When is AF due?

Clara101 · 04/03/2017 21:14

Hi Oldschool, welcome and good luck. A fourth wd be great!

Hi Ali, yes I temp.. AF due Tues.

booox · 04/03/2017 21:53

Thanks for the advice and links Alibaba. As I say, it's to avoid growth restriction, I had a small placenta last time and they advised aspirin but it does t seem clear who over sees this in the first trimester. Gp on Monday though doubt they'll know. I ended up taking 75mg today.

I feel bloated, tired and have stabby pains, thanks for asking! Af would have been today or tomorrow so don't feel out if the woods yet!

Opk day 11, I thought i dtd day 9 but actually I think I'd intended to and we didn't! So 10,11,12,13. Why do you ask?

booox · 04/03/2017 21:54

Welcome old school!

Alibaba2 · 04/03/2017 22:21

The reason I asked is because we dtd 4 days in a row with ov happening on the 4th day. I was worried that this would reduce sperm quantities and was hoping your (successful) situation was similar Smile

Clara101 · 05/03/2017 13:02

Good luck Ali, that sounds positive!

I'm out this month unfortunately as temps dropping :-( so just awaiting AF now. Been great to see some BFPs on the thread tho so hope some more are coming...

Alibaba2 · 05/03/2017 13:04

Violet, I checked with my friend and she stopped baby aspirin shortly after her BFP as she was already taking arginine and vit e and was worried about bleeding. Though I'd update you.

booox · 05/03/2017 14:29

Ah ok thanks Ali, I'd better wait till I know properly.

As I say the advice for us was to start after bfp.

Ha - ff says I ovulated on day 13 but I think it was day 12! But who knows.

Somewhere (here?) I read it's not nec a bad thing every day as if low sperm count you're maximising by daily. It's not easy though ime!

Alibaba2 · 05/03/2017 16:07

Thanks Violet, let's hope there were plenty of sperm in there!

I find that the app always gives the next day for ov as I guess the egg is released one day and survives into the next day.

Do you know if the low birth weight was due to high blood pressure as aspirin can be prescribed for this?

booox · 05/03/2017 17:44

Ah I see. No it was a small placenta.

booox · 05/03/2017 17:57

If any thing I had low bp.

JellybeanHippo · 05/03/2017 20:24

Thanks for the advice Violet, I've downloaded fertility friend and will start taking evening primrose next month if I'm not successful this month. My partner and I dtd on Thursday, Friday and today so fingers crossed.

Welcome Oldschool and good luck 😊

Alibaba2 · 05/03/2017 20:52

Sorry Clara, we cross-posted earlier and I missed your post. Oh poo, sorry to hear you feel you're out. I hope you're wrong. It has felt more positive having a couple of BFPs on here. May they continue!!

Oldschool41 · 05/03/2017 21:04

Thanks Clara and Ali 😏 fingers crossed

Clara101 · 06/03/2017 18:24

Oh thanks Ali.. AF started last night so well into cd1. Never mind like you feeling a bit cheered by BFPs...

I'm thinking of exploring IUI in Prague as based in Europe. Does anyone have recommendations or tips on how to go about finding a clinic? Maybe on another board???

Mackonadragos · 06/03/2017 21:41

Hi,

Congratulations Pingus and Violet!

Clara, I know Kaáli Intézet in Budapest (not far from Prague). I don't know anything in Prague though.

Here is a website of the above mentioned institution kaali.hu/en/our-services/ (in this they do not recommend IUI for women over 40).

Also there prices are here kaali.hu/arlista/ (but it is only in Hungarian FT, however, you can check the exchange rate) I looked up the complete IVF treatment 360 000 HUNFT (it is just over a £ 1000) .

It might worth contacting them.

Welshmamma · 07/03/2017 22:29

Serum in Athens were recommended to me x

Clara101 · 10/03/2017 06:36

Hi Mack and Welsh, thx for these suggestions... It's hard to know what to do and how to find out if chances wd be any better at my age w IUI / ivf.

Anyway trying to get more positive as fw approaches. How is everyone else?

PIngus, Violet any tips fm your bfp month?!? 😀

booox · 10/03/2017 08:39

Clara - I did read 'it starts with the egg'. I'd been taking folate within another vitamin but took it separately and with a pregnacare tablet (their very expensive one has both).

I'd been tracking ewcm for many months but then really stated to carefully look and record, which I think has helped with timings. I did epo for the first time till ovulation. I also started testing opks 3 times a day near my fertile period which helped catch a positive (my first ever!) I did also notice a tiny bit of streaked ewcm post ovulation which I've seen before.

I used fertility friend and took temps (not always accurate) to try to work out timings.

And I actually dtd every day over 4 days, which ended up being the day before the positive opk, they say of the opk and two following days.

Id previously used conceive plus with my first son but I do think the epo really helped improve my ewcm.

We were considering q10 if this one didn't work. I might if it doesn't stick.

Welshmamma · 10/03/2017 12:26

I'm 42 now and we are undecided between vasectomy reversal or ICSI...... and then hoping my body will still be making baby welcome!!! 🙄

Alibaba2 · 10/03/2017 13:54

Violet - could you give some more information on this please:

"I'd been taking folate within another vitamin but took it separately and with a pregnacare tablet (their very expensive one has both)."

Sorry for hounding you :-)

booox · 10/03/2017 15:29

L-Methylfolate as opposed to synthetic folic acid.

My sister told be about it; it's the natures form of folic acid. I then noticed pregnacare max has it in as well as a few other organic conception vitamins. I think it was mentioned in the book too. (Brain already addled! I'd have to look it up!) Some people can't process the synthetic one as well as the natural one.

Alibaba2 · 10/03/2017 16:46

Pregnacare max - I hadn't even heard of it!

Thanks for the tip!

Hope you're feeling well!

booox · 10/03/2017 17:10

ali, if you don't have the book "it's starts with the egg" I think it's on google books (can see a certain %free) and it's page 104-109. Explains the ins and outs of it.

Alibaba2 · 10/03/2017 21:38

Thanks Violet! I'll check it out.
