My cycles are a regular 25-26 days but I like to know when I ov so I know exactly when AF is due. I’ve had the odd longer cycle too.

Next cycle I’m aiming to start dtd the night before ov as that’s how I got pg last time.

HappyHedgehog247 · 01/01/2018 21:26

Hi

I've had acupuncture this month and don't seem to have ANY of my usual symptoms 3 days from my period being due - breasts are fine when normally heavy and tender etc. I'm attributing it to the acupuncture as it's the only new thing but wondered if anyone else had quick changes they could feel/see post acupuncture?

Orchid222 · 01/01/2018 23:00

HappyHedgehog-I've been having accupuncture for nearly 3 months now (frequently) and I haven't noticed any changes at all but I can't say I had any specific symptoms beforehand.

As for the sticks, my cycles aren't very regular either and I don't have any other ov symptoms so without the sticks I'd be completely lost. I'm going to start temping this cycle I think in an attempt to get a better idea of what's going on.

Hmm, it seems I really don't get any symptoms pre-ov/af! It didn't used to be like that. It is starting to be annoying.

HappyHedgehog247 · 01/01/2018 23:12

Thanks @Orchid222 it's good to hear about other people's experiences. I hope you find the temping useful. x

Alibaba2 · 02/01/2018 10:09

Out of interest, how long have you all been trying and have you had any BFPs in that time (MCs or chemicals)?

I’ve been trying 18 months and no BFPs in that time (I don’t test, 2 suspected CPs but no concrete evidence). I was pg in spring 2016.

Cleozeta · 02/01/2018 10:38

I've been trying about 10 months ish. No BFP yet. Turning 41 next month, perimenopausal and starting to loose hope

HappyHedgehog247 · 02/01/2018 11:38

I've had 3 tries at the right time and one that I knew was too late. So Jan is cycle 4/5. I'm 42.5. My amh is 11 in one clinic and 9 at my GP. Got pregnant first try and dtd once at 37- this time is different.

Karigan1 · 02/01/2018 12:00

I don’t know if I count last week as first try or not. Haven’t had a proper AF yet after stopping the pill in November. I know I had low progesterone after stopping the pill so not expecting much yet. Around Boxing Day however I got breast tenderness and checked on a stick to see flashing faces again. We’ve been dtd anyway. Didn’t have enough sticks to see if I actually ovulated (didn’t replace last pack which I stopped using when I discovered I had low progesterone as there didn’t seem to be any point) so going to have to wait and see. I was 40 in October. Would be good if it works as it would probably be a proper New Year’s Eve baby lol.

JoJoyorker · 02/01/2018 12:46

I'm not sure how long we've actively been trying. I stopped breastfeeding in June. It took a while for my cycle to return and regulate. I think it was start of October I started tracking and using OPK. Start of November progesterone test showed i didn't ovulate and then I ovulated end of November but DH was working away. December I ovulated early and I think we missed it. So I'm not holding out much hope for this month. I'm 41 in a couple of months.

JoJoyorker · 02/01/2018 12:47

I got pregnant first time and only DTD once when we conceived DD

JoJoyorker · 02/01/2018 12:48

Who is trying for their first? And who has children already?

Alibaba2 · 02/01/2018 19:02

I have a 6 and 8 year old. Both conceived first or second cycle.

Cleozeta · 02/01/2018 20:50

I have a 7 year old and a nearly 5 year old. 7 year old conceived 1st time, 5 year old took about 5 or 6 attempts (felt like forever then haha)

Orchid222 · 02/01/2018 22:19

I have a 2 year old conceived 1st cycle. Now we've been trying for 8 months and nothing (except for what I suspect might've been a CP last month). Despite my age, I naively hoped #2 wouldn't take that long. It is starting to feel like forever.

littlemimosa · 02/01/2018 22:38

I’ve been trying to conceive baby number 3 for approx 18 months but not every month. Probably missed 6-7 cycles in that time for various reasons.

I have a 4 and a 6 year old. DC1 took about a year to conceive. Started ttc #2 and fell pregnant first try but miscarried at 6 weeks. Fell again on 2nd try with DC2. This time is proving harder. I’ll be 42 this spring.

littlemimosa · 02/01/2018 22:39

No chemicals or miscarriages that I know of but I don’t test either.

crivit · 02/01/2018 23:23

Hi all

Having read the entire thread over the last day or two I thought I should post given I've already ordered a copy of It Starts With The Egg and 90 ubiquinol...

I'm 43 and TTC #1 having only managed to meet someone I want to try this parenting thing with last year. Not been using contraception for a fair few months now but not taken any pregnancy tests until this last month despite lots of signs on a couple of occasions last year. One in particular either I was pregnant or my cycle was seriously messed up (6+ weeks and heavier than I've been other than a miscarriage in my 20s). Tbf, the last 2 years have been stressful so it could have been that although even my partner wondered if it was actually a miscarriage.

Alibaba2 · 03/01/2018 19:57

Similar to me Mimosa.

Crivit - could have been a MC. Did you have any pg symptoms?

11dpo and absolutely no symptoms for me - not even progesterone symptoms which I normally get. Utterly depressing!

crivit · 04/01/2018 11:30

Breasts were definitely a lot fuller and more tender than usual plus feeling nauseous.

I got my hopes up this month when I had a little spotting around what would have been a likely implantation day but that was over 2 weeks ago and although no af, also got a bfn this morning.

Do you start thinking an absence of normal symptoms is a maybe? I think I'm starting to over analyse mine but because I didn't write them down I doubt my memory of previous ones (memory isn't always the greatest due to some medication I was on for a number of years).

Still fingers crossed for you even without the symptoms!

Karigan1 · 04/01/2018 12:55

Good luck crivit. I’m not going to make suggestions as only just getting to grips with things myself. I can’t even work out when my AF is potentially due ffs lol. But did just want to wish you luck.

JoJoyorker · 04/01/2018 15:17

Alibaba2 What progesterone symptoms do you get?

Alibaba2 · 04/01/2018 16:12

Thanks all. I normally get some change in my breasts. Pre-pg, it used to be hugely noticeable but apparently your body resets itself after being pg so since then it’s more subtle. But I feel shivery from 7dpo onwards as temp peaks. I used to get ewcm at 7dpo too. And I feel relaxed and sleepy. Last month I had loads of symptoms but none this month.

Crivit, I know what you mean about over-analysing! So is AF late for you again? Do you for sure when ov was?

LuckyHappyMummy123 · 04/01/2018 17:19

Hi I’m not a regular poster but am always lurking 😊. Was originally mattsmama but name changed so been lurking for a few years now sadly with no updates other than 4 or 5 chemicals. Just had to comment on the symptom spotting. I know I certainly over analyse ever bloody twitch and everything else. However, last month I had a total break from ttc. I specifically made a mental note to see if this month might be different. I had no symptoms whatsoever until about 5 days before af. Normally every month we ttc I have sore breasts and cramping for 2 weeks? Just think it’s so odd really that the month we have a break is so different from the others. I’m in 2 www - and have been cramping for over a week now and breasts super sore again - so goodness knows what’s happening ?!

Cleozeta · 04/01/2018 18:14

Is it psychological? I have symptoms every bloomin month too (often different!) And is never actually anything meaningful, very annoying!

Alibaba2 · 04/01/2018 21:06

And does a tiny amount of brown discharge mean it’s game over?
