HI still, I'm not far behind you and I'm sure we're not only ones. It does happen even if unlikely. So why not try and get advice if that's what we want. Hope you're feeling better after surgery.

Sorry you anticipate AF Till. Sounds like you have a plan tho!

Alibaba2 · 24/08/2017 21:28

How is everyone?

I'm in FW but not getting much/any ewcm and have not been looking after myself so not holding out much hope.

Back on the Chinese herbs which are supposed to help implantation. Do you still take those Clara?

lollylolah · 25/08/2017 10:21

Hi all. Wondering if I can join this group. I'll be 40 in 2 weeks. Conceived my 17 month old first time trying. Just about to start ttc no 2, but been having some odd periods last couple of months. Not sure if I'm reading too much into it, but getting scared that I'm not fertile anymore. Feeling scared.

Cleozeta · 25/08/2017 17:11

Thanks for comments everyone, just got back from 2 weeks away and saw Dr this morning to go over the results of the blood test. Even more confused now. He says results were all normal, which is great, but why did the other dr who I spoke to over the phone say that my hormone results were borderline and that my overies were 'getting tired' (her words). So now my actual dr says it may well still be perimenopause causing the weird periods but results were ok and its definitely not 'actual' menopause. He's given me a course of tablets to stop the current period which has now been going on a month and he says it may reboot everything. If not then I may need 3 months of contraceptive pill to get back on track. He also suggest the coil - err...no!

Hi lolly, welcome. There seems to be something about the process of ttc (or even just deciding to!) That can turn our whole cycles upside down for some reason! Maybe the worry? Or the closer attention to the details we may not have had before? Hopefully it will straighten itself out. I know at this age its a worry though isnt it!

lollylolah · 26/08/2017 08:58

Cleozeta, I'm sure the fact that we are now paying more attention to things makes us analyse it more. I hope the doctors manage to do something to help your cycle even out. It sounds like you have experienced similar to me, I've been spotting for two months pre period. Doctor yesterday told me to do some 21 day blood and 3-4 day blood tests. I'm too scared to do them for fear of a bad result though.

Question, I started using the clear blue fertility monitor yesterday, day 8, it said low fertility, today it says peak fertility. Is this normal?? I have had much CM to date. And does it mean I now have one or two days to DTD?!? I have no idea. Shows how clueless I am in this game! Any suggestions gratefully received.

lollylolah · 26/08/2017 08:59

Should read "haven't" had much CM to date

Alibaba2 · 26/08/2017 21:46

Cleo - do you know what they tested and what your result was? Was it day 3 FSH/LH? I think some doctors aren't very subtle and are negative about older pregnancies. My 38-year old friend was told by a doctor that all her good eggs were gone. Even though she had good test results.

Lolly, the Peak picked up your LH surge. But it didn't have enough time to pick up the oestrogen surge. Start testing at cd6 next month. How long are your cycles?

Cleozeta · 27/08/2017 01:50

I think it was FSH, although not day 3 as no idea what day it was. The first dr told me my level was 10 when it should be less than 8.5 meaning my ovaries were getting tired. Other dr said it was ok but symptoms suggested peri. Just a bit confused by it all!
Dr didn't seem against a pregnancy but not too convinced either.

Lolly, might help to get tests, at least you will know then either way. Especially if it can put your mind at rest if all ok.

How do you find the fertillity monitor? Considering getting one but not sure if it would be worthwhile in current situ. Are they expensive?

Alibaba2 · 27/08/2017 21:08

10 isn't terrible Cleo. I think it's classed as "fair". I think your GP is being quite extreme in his/her views.

Cleozeta · 27/08/2017 22:44

I hope its not too bad. Would just love to get my cycles back on track as not even ovulating currently. Hopefully the norethisterone will help kick start a normal cycle again.

Mellie1025 · 28/08/2017 14:51

Hi everyone,

Just checking in.

Cleozeta: The monitors are offered at all major drug stores. Here in Canada they are about 70.00. I'm thinking about getting one for next month if nothing happens.

Cleozeta · 29/08/2017 10:43

Thanks, will look into it.

Does anyone know of any vitimins or supliments that can help get periods back to a pattern? Or help induce ovulation?

Alibaba2 · 29/08/2017 16:15

I think Agnus Castus helps with that. Or Clomid induces ov.

Cleozeta · 29/08/2017 16:50

Is clomid perscription only? Agnus Castus is off the shelf I think so may try that. I wonder if clomid would be suitable? Might ask doc. Just want to get things started. No patience!

Alibaba2 · 29/08/2017 21:32

Yes Clomid is prescription only. Speak to your GP.

Swuth · 31/08/2017 23:50

Hi all... I'm new here & wanted to know if anyone has an experience similar to mine. Here goes...I'm 42 years old and I've had 2 ectopic pregnancies requiring surgery (2013 & 2014). I had one and 1/2 tube removed. I am currently 17 days late & I've had 3 negative HPTs & 1 negative urine test at my GYN yesterday. My symptoms-nausea w/some vomiting, some fatigue, needle like pains in my boobs, jelly like CM, cramping, pelvic floor pain.
Dr. took blood yesterday to do a fertility panel but didn't say anything about a pregnancy test w/the blood. She said she would give me a call when she got the results of the test(s), but no call as yet. Anyone experience anything similar?

Cleozeta · 01/09/2017 09:01

I had similar to this before I had my 5 week period. At first I thought it was due to taking conceive plus as reading up on it a lot of people had experienced pregnancy symptoms and a late period while taking it (cruel joke right??) Had blood tests and it turned out to be early perimenopause. Apparently one thing that can happen when your hormones change slightly is a missed or late period followed by a very long one. And the inbalance can cause all kind of other symptoms, sore boobs, tiredness etc.
Could be very different in your case, but I guess your blood test will tell. Good luck, let us know how you get on

meandmygirl1 · 03/09/2017 18:59

Hi

I have 12yr old dd and am 42. Not really thought about having another baby until recently as have a new partner and he has brought it up.

I am thinking of going for it but realistically I don't think it's very likely. But it would be lovely if it happened.

weasledee · 03/09/2017 19:55

Hi meandmygirl, welcome to the group. Have you started trying yet?
I'm 41 and about to start trying again for number 3 after a recent miscarriage...

Cleozeta · 04/09/2017 14:41

Has anyone ever tried soy isoflavones (sp?) Apparently 'natures Clomid'.
Also just been reading up on ubiquinol, any of these useful? And would you take them together?

Alibaba2 · 04/09/2017 20:47

Hi Cleo,

I haven't heard of the first but I do take ubiquinol. I used to take 2 tablets a day with food but now I take just 1 most days.

I'm 10dpo. Does anyone else find this part really hard? I often get very grouchy around 8dpo which I can only think is due to the hormone peak being over. I had my prog tested at 9dpo and it was higher than I expected so not sure why I should feel grouchy then.

And at 11dpo I normally get spotting so really dread seeing that as I know then it's game over and just a waiting game until AF arrives.

Just a thoroughly depressing time.

minime2017 · 04/09/2017 21:11

Cleo I've literally just taken my first set of soy tonight. Been try #1 for over a year with no success except a chemical 7mths ago. Have also started ubiquinol and royal jelly and am taking these in the morning with prenatal. Throwing everything at it this month before heading to the drs.

Cleozeta · 05/09/2017 16:55

Oh good minime, glad to hear you are doing all that too, let us know how it goes! I'll be starting soy as soon as CD3 happens. No idea when that will be

minime2017 · 05/09/2017 18:57

Well took a dose of 80 last night (2 tablets of Tescos own) no side effects to report. Having a weird af so I'm questioning hormones. I had a 25 day cycle, it started late on sat, was normal on sunday, dark and light yesterday and now almost like sporting today. Is it an age thing? Also was so sure this would be our month as I've been so relaxed thanks to having reflexology and had such a strong opk on CD 12 (2 days later, again I'm hoping due to relfexology)
We timed dtd well but still got bfn and af. Soooo throwing all at it this month. Hoping the SI will delay ov a bit to give it more time for egg to mature etc. Worth a try for a cycle. At this stage I'll give anything a go.

Cleozeta · 06/09/2017 09:23

It's worth a try. I've heard lots of positive things about soy, so fingers crossed!
