Cleo I can't believe it's perimenopause at this point. Definitely get some more tests.

I'm cd15 and all ovulation predictors are negative. WHY? I've always ovulated like clockwork, etc before this loss in February. Why am I all over the map now??? So frustrating.

Cleozeta · 08/08/2017 17:43

Oh no surgery sounds awful! But on the plus side its sorted now? In a few months when you are ready it may be worth trying again, so don't give up!

TillBill - so frustrating isnt it, it seems like when we are trying thats the time that our bodies want to mess around and confuse us. I don't think I've ever seen a positive opk, even though when I've not been trying I have definitely ovulated!

Went for tests this morning, got the blood test and hoping to get results tomorrow before we go away for 2 weeks. Could not do smear as bleeding yet again (been almost 3 weeks now with just a few days off) hopefully bloods will give some answers anyway. It just makes no sense.

Alibaba2 · 09/08/2017 16:00

Sorry for quick post but does anyone else get ovary twinges around 10dpo? I get them every cycle so not pg, just wondered what they were....

Ekphrasis · 09/08/2017 17:39

Flowersgosh still I hope you feel better soon - sorry if being dumb, what for?

I hope you get answers soon cleo. It must be too early for that?

Ali, not that I'm aware of unless I ovulate early- it's not ov is it?

Very glum today. I'm sure af is round the corner. Though I've had horrendously painful breasts for 3 days, and bfn. Only 12 dpo but I usually get a positive earlier. On a lovely holiday that I'm trying to enjoy more :) I just feel like crap. My boobs are really confusing me.

Cleozeta · 09/08/2017 20:29

Got test results today. It is perimenopause. Came back borderline, so doc wants to have a chat when I get back from holiday. Not sure what can be done from this stage, if anything.

Ekphrasis · 10/08/2017 00:57

Oh gosh cleo, I'm so sorry. I hope there are some suggestions they can give you. Unmumsnetty hugs and Flowers

TillBill · 10/08/2017 01:30

Oh I'm so sorry Cleo. I hope he can give you some good information and hope.

Alibaba2 · 10/08/2017 06:59

Sorry Cleo - was it FSH they tested for that? It is still possible to conceive during perimenopause. Acupuncture and herbs might help.

Alibaba2 · 10/08/2017 07:00

Thanks Ek. It's not ov as it's before AF but I'm wondering if my ovaries start waking up then and might even interrupt any chance I have of implantation...

WannaBeMumAgain · 10/08/2017 11:29

Not posted for a while but been lurking.

Cleo hope you get good advice and support.

Which ovulation kit would you ladies recommend there's so many different ones.

I keep a note of when my period starts but I don't have an exactly regular cycle especially last few months due I think to stress of moving house.

Ekphrasis · 10/08/2017 12:47

Hi wanna, personally I think it's the one step I use from Amazon. I was very kindly sent a huge batch by a mner. I use these as I find I need to test x2- 3 times a day around fertile window to get a positive test, and they're cheap.

Temping is really helpful too to cross check. I get a temp dip a couple of days before ov too.

Clara101 · 11/08/2017 13:20

Sorry to hear about your surgery still.. Hope you feel much better soon.

Cleo, sorry too about your results.. I think many Drs have different interpretations of what is definitive and what you can work on. Was it FSH or AMH they tested or did you have follicular scan. People do conceive during peri menopause and w low AMH. So do dig further and don't give up..

Ek hope you're enjoying the hols and feeling better.

All quiet here.. Feeling a bit better than last month following heart to heart w DP re ttc. But I'm sure my mood will still plummet a bit when af turns up!!

Clara101 · 11/08/2017 13:22

Ali maybe someone wd have insight if you do sep thread on the symptoms you get?

Alibaba2 · 11/08/2017 13:39

I've tried that Clara but no response.

I've asked Trevor. Prog result was good but I'm out this month as spotting. I knew it as soon as I had the ovary twinges.

Where are you in cycle?

Rugby01 · 11/08/2017 16:36

Hi all. Can I join? I was on here a year or so ago and got pregnant at 40 and found this thread so helpful and supportive. We're thinking of ttc no 2, but not hopeful as I'm early 40s now. (Just wasted 4 tests then AF arrived! Back to these fun and games again!)

Alibaba2 · 11/08/2017 17:25

Welcome Rugby!

How long did it take you to ttc#1?

Have you just started ttc again?

minime2017 · 11/08/2017 18:55

Hi mind if I rejoin you all? I've avoided the forums for a few months. Have been the #1 for a year now with a cp at end of Dec. Forward a period of 7 stressful months due to work and home and I finally feel relaxed and more optimistic than I've been in ages despite turning 40 this year Grin

TillBill · 11/08/2017 19:21

Welcome rugby and minime. Glad to have as many people as possible.

Mellie1025 · 11/08/2017 20:03

Period might be here in four days but my ovaries are killing me today. Could this be a sign of pregnancy or AF making an appearance. Never had this pain before.

Alibaba2 · 11/08/2017 20:50

Mellie - this is exactly what I've been posting about and trying to find someone who has the same! I get twinges in my ovaries on and off from 10dpo onwards. What's that all about?!

I've asked my consultant so I'll let you know if he replies.

Rugby01 · 11/08/2017 22:17

Hi there. Thanks for the welcome. Took about 6 months first time Alibaba. Who knows if this made any difference but I was advised to give up sugar to balance out my hormones. It was really hard to do but if I might try it again this time.

Has anyone got any other particular things they're trying (I read somewhere that Brazil nuts help implantation for example!?! Who knows....! I collect facts like this and try them all).

Yes, just starting ttc again. its so good not to feel alone in this stressful aim.

Mellie and Alibaba I hope you find out what the mid cycle pain means.

Alibaba2 · 12/08/2017 11:15

Mellie - my Consultant has spoken and says the twinges are caused by the highly active corpus luteum which are producing high levels of progesterone at this time. Phew, I feel better about that...

Rugby, I've tried loads of things over the past year but still not pg so no miracle cures I'm afraid. But I do swear by EPO to increase ewcm. But then I didn't take any the 3 times I fell pg so who knows... I take ubiquinol to improve egg quality and baby aspirin to improve blood flow.

stillvicarinatutu · 12/08/2017 11:40

morning all

well i have a week until my fertile window for these stitches to stop pinching me. ive ordered a fertility lube. (im getting desperate now)

wanna i use the slightly costlier option of the clearblue dual hormone opk - its pricey but worth it for me - i never get a clear result with the one step cheapies but the clearblue is so easy - poas once a day. it gives you indication when your fertile window is coming (a flashing smiley) then a static smiley when the LH surge is detected. i only used 5 sticks last month so got 15 left. at that rate it will do me 4 cycles so worth the price tag and its very clear and easy to use.

Clara101 · 12/08/2017 14:12

Welcome mini and Rugby! It's great to see this thread more chatty again...!

Rugby, I think I remember you from before! Congrats on your little one, how old are is he/she and are you still bf? Interesting on no sugar. I've also had this advice and trying but it's hard!!

No miracle cures but I asked this qn on the 40+ pg thread a few months back thinking they were the ladies to ask!! They said various stuff, leaving a stressful job, more exercise, sex thru cycle.. can't remember what else but you cd scroll back.

That's great to have an answer Ali. I'm abt 9dpo.

Hope you feel better still.

Rugby01 · 12/08/2017 15:24

Hi again clara- good luck this cycle - are you likely to test early? Keep us posted. I did think that actually - about scrolling back. Someone somewhere said loads of chickpeas!? I'll try it!

The no sugar thing was easier if I told myself to eat as much as I liked if other stuff - crisps, etc. Just not the biscuits and chocolate I had always eaten.

And no clara I'm not bleeding. DS is now 9 months.

Anyone else in a tww?
