Hi Boosey
Hope you are ok, It is spooky and comforting in a way to know someone who is going through what you are, our stories are v similar. I got my period today so a month gone. I only gave myself a few months because I think I am too old, or to be more accurate I think other people think I am too old, I feel fine, can't believe I am nearly 45!! Boo!!
Username - I hope you are feeling ok, I think the hard part will be for all of us to make peace with it, if we have too. I don't see that happening for me for a long time as I blame myself for wasting time. It's so hard for all of us. But let's think positive and try and appreciate what we have in the now, and hope/pray for the future x

PineapplePrincess · 02/08/2017 23:14

@weasledee - so sorry to hear about your tfmr. I hope you are bearing up okay. {{{hugs}}}

Buttonmushroom · 03/08/2017 16:38

Please can somebody (anybody!!) Help me out with this. I've not had my regular period since 2/7/17 but did have some unusual bleeding on the 20th. Not sure what related to but I do have a cystic ovary..

Today I took a first response test and think it's negative. BUT there is a very clear (very white) line. Does anyone know if this is the brand as it's driving me crazy wondering.

Please someone respond!

P.s. line was very apparent when I checked after 3 mins

Can somebody with more experience please please tell me if this is an indent on the test or a positive test. It appeared immediately and is very clear but also very white. No trace of colour at all. It's a first response test. No period since 2/7/17 except some strange bleeding two weeks after that... Please somebody respond :'( I'm going crazy.

Sorry about the double post ladies. It was refusing to cooperate first time x

weasledee · 03/08/2017 18:41

Hi button, didn't want to read and run..... have u any more tests?? Defo worth another test tomorrow morning!
Fingers crossed :)

Buttonmushroom · 03/08/2017 19:01

Thanks so much weasledee. I do have another but I wanted to hear what people thought before trying again tonight. I think I'll do as you suggested and try again in the morning. Fingers crossed here too!

weasledee · 03/08/2017 19:13

Update us in the morning! :)

Ekphrasis · 03/08/2017 19:45

Very strange button - I'd try again tomorrow! Frustrating too!

TillBill · 04/08/2017 00:39

So had HSG today, tubes wide open, but there's an endometrial polyp. Which means more procedures, more tests, more time. Boo.

Buttonmushroom · 04/08/2017 22:31

Just an update- No positive for me I'm afraid.

weasledee · 04/08/2017 23:01

Oh no, sorry button....

TillBill · 04/08/2017 23:20

So sorry button. So hard each and every time.

Buttonmushroom · 04/08/2017 23:44

Thanks everyone. It is only my second month but I got this silly notion in my head of 'meant to be'.. convinced myself it was going to happen as period very late. P.s. I think it was the first response test wide as I've read similar things on other threads. The tip was that if you 'invert' the photo the line should glow... Which it definitely doesn't. I'm so annoyed they got my hopes up.

I joined to ask about the line but may stay if that's ok now we're ttc.

Fx for everyone.

Please stay!!! Selfishly I need the support!! And I love hearing everyone else's stories.

Here's my sad/happy news... my sister in law, definitely not trying, three healthy boys and she's 44, texted to say that she's really, really tired and not feeling like herself. (I'm a physician so people like to ask me about this stuff...) I immediately ask "could you be pregnant?" because of course that's the first thing on my mind all the time. She says... "hmmm maybe? maybe I should rule that out?" and tests are currently pending. I am so mixed in my feelings right now. Obviously if she's going to be happy about it I want it for her and my brother, but it's just a hard thing to be going through right now. Since this loss in Feb/March, I am so jealous.... I probably wouldn't have been, before. I hate this side of me. I'm not proud of it. But it's just like, 'really'?!? So now every Christmas/Easter/etc it's going to be staring me and my husband in the face?!? I hate being this selfish. UGH I really hate this side of me and I really can only express it here....

Cleozeta · 05/08/2017 08:47

That would be tough, but also reassuring to know it's possible! However not something you really want in your face if it is not happening to you.
I went to the docs yesterday and I am apparently in perimenopause. Getting tests next week to confirm, so looks like the end of the line for us already. I know people say it's still possible at that time as it's supposed to last a few years but if eveything is so erratic, and may not even be ovulating, it's highly unlikely.
This month I have had mid cycle bleeding around what would have been ovulation time. Reading up on that it sounds like it's caused by a dip in estrogen. But does that mean ovulation will nor happen? And if it does would there be enough estrogen to maintain an implantation?? It's all so confusing

Myusernamewhichisthis · 05/08/2017 23:04

I got pg at 44 after within 2 months of coming off pill so you never know . - I didn't get to meet my little girl but I think I was unlucky.

Today is cd 30. I'm late. I darent test. I can't bear another bfn. I am 99% sure I'm not pg.

It's ridiculous to hope at 45 really.
But hope is all I have. Until af arrives anyway. I'd had a blip in may with a weird 50 day cycle which was a first for me. Might be signaling menopause I guess.

Then I'd been regular again at 27 to 30 days. Now this. I had a positive opk on cd 15. I really should be getting af now.

Buttonmushroom · 06/08/2017 00:23

Thanks Tillbill I will stay and can definitely try and offer some support but I'm not sure how much help I can be as very new to the game. Also Tillbill there's no shame in being honest about your feelings. Everything about ttc is emotionally charged and that is of course going to lead to unexpected outlets for all that emotion. I don't think anyone could say with all honesty they've never been a tiny bit jealous.. totally natural and your hormones are probably crying out every baby you see. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Cleozeta I think if it was an estrogen dip it may have delayed ovulation this cycle but doesn't mean it hasn't happened just harder to track. Don't give up hope.

Myusername have you ever had a positive opk on an unusually long/short cycle before? I think that's the most important sign that there's still a chance.

P.s. sorry I have no idea how to tag on mumsnet

Cleozeta · 06/08/2017 09:52

Button - thank you, that is reassuring. I just have no idea what is going on with my body at the mo. I had my first mid cycle bleed 3 months ago and my period came exactly 2 weeks later, after that had nothing at all for 7 weeks followed by an almost 2 week long perid (and what seemed like mid spotting a week before that started). Was like clockwork before all this. Have given up using opk's as it was getting to depressing to see the constant blank. Gave in and did one yesterday, as it was CD 15 and the bleeding had started (although only 3 days since period finished) and of course it was totally blank again. Just so confused how this can suddenly happen as soon as we start trying :-(

Myusername - I would totally test! If you had positive opk on cd15 that is amazing and you have such a good chance now you are late. But I do understand sometimes it is better to hold on to hope rather than accept potential disappointment, thats why I gave up the opk's. But it does sound promising. Fingers crossed for you. Also don't forget if you are ovulating with long or short cycles, there are things that can be done about that, just that fact you are ov'ing is the important part :-)

Ekphrasis · 06/08/2017 11:11

Hi all, I'm
Insanely jet lagged and not making any sense of threads or retaining names but still following as best I can!

Cleo that sounds so confusing. Sorry if you've said below but have you been to the gp?

Ekphrasis · 06/08/2017 11:15

Myuser- I hope you are ok. I do get that feeling now. Was so easy with our first; 2 mc later it's not so straight forward.

I don't think I'm pregnant this cycle. It's a shame as it seemed the 'perfect' cycle and I was sure we had caught timing etc. Hey ho. Not due for a few days yet so there's still a chance. The pregnancy I had in April spoiled me a bit as I had early symptoms and an early positive test. It's skewed my sense of what should happen when.

Myusernamewhichisthis · 06/08/2017 12:08

im out Sad

af got me this morning.

i think the cosmos is trying to tell me something. ive got a bartholins cyst. dtd will be impossible unless it goes - im going back to gp tomorrow to beg them to lance the bloody thing as its killing me.

Clara101 · 06/08/2017 21:34

Also glad you're staying button. Sorry for AF user, it's a downer every time! Hope you'll feel better in a few days and the GP can help. Hope things get clearer for you soon Cleo. How are you Ali?

Till, it's good yr tubes are clear. I also had polyp but on upside it's something that's easily addressed and doing so cd help.

Cleozeta · 06/08/2017 21:41

Ekphrasis - yes I went to GP on Friday, he says it's probably perimenopause. I'm only 40 though, not ready for that! Going for a blood test & smear on Tuesday to check for that and rule out anything else.

Myusername - sorry to hear that, so disapointing. Hopefully they can clear the cyst and you can try again

stillvicarinatutu · 08/08/2017 14:19

ive name changed but its myusername here under my old new name....long story.

i had emergency surgery yesterday - admitted through a&e so im out this month and robably next if im honest. ive got 6 stitches. this is the cosmos saying give over isnt it?
